The Vali kin'toni Clan was founded in the 70th year of the Third Era, when a bright kin'toni named Jualli rebelled against his clan, the Eladlye Kin'toni Clan Displeased with the Eladlye's religious dogma, Jualli defected from the clan, fleeing to a forest region to build a new clan that could contend with the Eladlye in dignity and battle alike. Certain that he was no threat to them, the Eladlye did not pursue. Jualli quickly turned zu'aan from the nearby tribes of Anyu, Ticy and Var, and began to work the land. They named the region the Hyriss Fungi Forest, or in their own tongue, Tar'Anroth.

Although the young Vali Clan was blessed with a long period of peace, the clan was loosely bonded and their loyalties were weak; war was inevitable. In 3E 153, the clan suffered a brief civil war as inner discordance that had been festering since the clan's founding boiled over. One side, the Zvdarfalli, zealously supported their leader Jualli, but the Nzdxiaspalli were in complete defiance of their leader's authority. This warfare, known as the Baganradrali Civil War from that point onward, lasted for several of the most intense months in the history of the kin'toni-kind and saw, up until the last several days, a stalemate the likes of which hadn't been seen since the Shattering three years prior.

However, Jualli, having been the stoic being that he was, briefly overcame his speechlessness with one critical word that permanently altered the tide in his side's favour; the word in question was, "Nbydrosadrli," meaning "Reclaim." By this point original clan founder and first leader Jualli, in spite of his youthful energy, was nearing the end of his existence to the obliviousness of almost everybody within his clan from both opposing sides of the Bgnradrali; thus, almost poetically, he immediately retired from his leadership position following his brief break of silence and appointed his successor in a Vali kin'toni who had just mere days prior turned his allegiance to the now-dying and former leader; her name was Gbydnili (Truthteller).

Right after taking the clan's leadership helm, he revealed to the Vali Kin'toni Clan the secrets of the side that for all her life before she had been a part of, after which she commanded that her fellow clanmates in the Zydarfalli side of the brief lightspeed war, quote-unquote, "Put their superstitions and taboos aside to force a treaty and avoid forcing themselves to use an ancient bludgeon mallet that was too big for even the strongest of mere mortals to carry individually.) This succeeded with unexpected results, though, as Jualli himself participated in the war to sacrifice himself by shielding the new leader at this point from a hostile takeover that inevitably took his life.

Since the conclusion of said war, the effects of the five-month skirmish between the two sides have since reunited the opposition and supporters in a bid to simply survive the future ice age that will take place, stocking up on whatever resources remain as many were unfortunately wasted on a war that both sides agreed could have effortlessly been avoided; sadly, the agreement, coming too long after the playing out of the fact, may sadly not be enough to prevent them from becoming lost to time forever. Or, will it?

Geography

The Hyriss Fungi Forest is in a cave that is five miles long, three miles wide and three hundred feet high. Considering how the Hyriss Fungi Forest has grown inside a massive cave which has been known to house entire populations of smaller-sized kin'toni clans, the one thing that distinguishes this one from almost any other throughout the known Terael map, ironically, is the unique infrastructure, which consists mainly of a rare form of rock known only to the inhabitants of the said cave as the Ybazdi (veined rock). This rock is black in colour and has veins of orange and gold.

As a result of the majority of the cave's architecture consisting of this rarely-seen marble type, the Ybzdi marble has been known to endure the harshest winters and the most unbearable of summers; unfortunately, the cave, even when its entryways are either blocked (the entryways are blocked by snow in the respective periods of the calendar) doesn't fully protect the inhabitants from the elements (although it does keep a great deal of the heat and cold out more often than not).

Located within the outermost fringes of a continent on Terael known as Yatlai (Land of Mist), it serves as both the entryway to the continent known as Aqidwyz (Dawn's Law) and the intercontinental line between the two continents. There is a range of mountains separating the continents of Aqidwyz and Yatlai called the Qobvoud Mountain Range. There are three passes through the Qobvoud Mountain Range called Auv, Innova and Thiotimi. The heart of the Xerea Empire is built east of the Qobvoud Mountain Range, on the continent of Aqidwyz.

In addition to the cavern's unfathomable size, it also bears a complex number of entryways similar to that of a labyrinth although the entryways were designed with simplicity in mind and an overall path to which certain cathedrals can be found. It is not entirely known at this point what these cathedrals were designed for, but many hints have been clued in towards said cathedrals being used to engage the population in construction work of some kind, albeit one such kind of which may never truly been deciphered.

The cathedrals mentioned are supposedly located within the central parts of the cavern, each of which can house up to five hundred kin'toni at a time. In the cavern that encompasses the vast majority of the area of which the foliage surrounds, there are those occasional ceremonies, biannually on average, where the entire Vali clan leave their proverbial nest to pay homage to their clan founder whose remains can be seen scattered within the confines of a tree they call Bhydr'hla (the Memory Brush), where they participate in a strange ritual involving Jualli's 'spirit,'.

That they believe is being brought to life in the form of a life-sized log which they decorate with what they call a perfectly-carved figurine of the clan founder (though the only ones who remember what the founder looked like are also the same ones who were turned by those within his original administration, at which point the number of those who remember his appearance are few and slightly distant in between). The regions of the cave are called Uvcgu-Tkal, Jdziaaf and Vfrecalli. Each region covers a third of the cave.

Plants

Since the cavern in which the residents of the Hyriss Fungi Forest dwell is fairly moist, it seems most logical at this point to conclude that there are lots of mossy areas within this particular cavern-based region, as well as several different types of plants, fungi and variations thereof of which can found in four other regions within Terael aside from the Hyriss Fungi Forest. Among the types of moss that can be found within the cavern are the vze'drasd and the bvdeoza-fe. The vze'drasd moss is light grey in colour and the bvdeoza-fe moss is light yellow in colour.

Due to its dark and wet conditions, there are a lot of types of Fungi in the Hyriss Fungi Forest, including the giant vaire fungi that grow as tall as trees and have brightly coloured stalks and caps. The giant vaire fungi caps are often bright red, orange and yellow in colour and the stalks are dull grey or white. The giant vaire fungi grow up to thirty feet tall and with caps that are five feet around. These are not toxic to eat but are uneatable. These fungi are very common in the region and kin'toni's have been known to build their houses under or even into them.

There are toxic gatyu fungi that have a blinding toxin if eaten. These small fungi are around a foot high and have red caps and grey stalks. These grow mostly on the ground. Another fungus is the light yellow capped yauoa, used for its hallucinogenic effects in religious rites. Most notable, among all the plant life within the cavern that encompasses the region referred to as the Hyriss Fungi Forest, are the wildflower-like ncdarsdyn that seem to bloom during the later seasons of the annual calendar cycle.

Even with the minimum thrice-weekly maintenance of said plants, they still tend to bloom around the same time of year in unusual synchronicity the likes of which many within the kin'toni population find ceremonious. This annual blooming of Ncdarsdyn botany is universally referred to within this clan as the Morning of Cerulean Mist (Kimidiilr Ghuc'ra). Unlike with all other blooming periods, however, this one is much more significant for the amount of manpower required to pick the plants for religious use.

As with all other blooming periods not falling under the three-year cycle of Zocasre'ztu (the Botanical Sphere) only a quarter of the population would be needed. Nonetheless, the ncdarsdyn requires a minimum thrice-weekly watering as anything less may cause the plant to mature much later and die prematurely—in some cases, up to three years less than the plant's average ten-year lifespan.

Animals

In the Hyriss Fungi Forest there are many animals that exist, kin'toni sometimes drinks the blood of a few of them. Animals in this region include the enyik, that looks like a bat-lynx hybrid. It is around nine feet long and weighs over a thousand pounds. It has six limbs, four legs with clawed paws and two wings, four eyes and large cat-like ears. It has a mouth full of sharp teeth that are adapted to eating meat. It lives on the ground in this region, but it is a good climber and is able to glide tree to tree. The enyik mates for life with and has litters of three young, that are at birth, small and underdeveloped. The young are slow growers that grow to full size in three years and an enyik is able to live for over ten years.

Another animal is the yzguun, loosely translated, the Grey Phoenix. This animal has a five-foot wingspan and weighs about fifteen pounds· The yzguun has two legs and one pair of feathered wings, its feathers are dark grey in colour. Its beak has small sharp teeth in it and its toes have hooked claws for gripping prey. The Grey Phoenix feeds off smaller weaker animals such as the wild emyk and the Txhi Worms. The yzguun pair up with a mate for a year at a time and lay clutches of three eggs. They look after their young that take about a year to grow to full size. The young start as whikte feathered and their feathers darken over time to a dark grey colour. The yzguun nests on top of the giant fungi in this region.

The wild emyk, known for their fluffy tail and droopy ear lobes are another type of animal in this region. The wild emyk has four legs, ending in a clawed paw, a single head and two eyes on the sides of its head. The fur colour varies from tan fur colour and a blue face, sunset-coloured to dark grey. They live in groups of three to five. It eats a diet of vegetation and fungi and is normally very timid. These animals have a unique mating ritual where they mimic each other's movements before butting heads, thus making way for a conception in one of the mates. three per cent of emyks are born through a male's reproductive area, where roughly ninety-seven per cent are born through the womb. They do not form long term partnerships with their mates.

At the bottom of the food chain are the anyau. They are around half a foot long and weigh around half a pound. They have six legs, again, with clawed paws and four eyes that are able to see in near-total darkness. Anyau has long rodent-like tails and small hairs on the face that act as wiskers. They have dark grey fur that lightens on the belly. This animal eats insects and some of the plants and fungi of the region, including the gatyu fungi. These animals are widespread through Terael and are able to eat a wide range of foods. They are nimble scavengers, using whatever they can find to build their nests. They live in groups. They will avoid travellers. They use dances to find mates. They have litters of three to five young that grow to full size within three months.
