Geography

As the Troineril Decaying Swamp extends itself for miles without an end to be seen, it is possible to find several landmarks, some created by zu'aan tribes and natural ones, used by the tribes to find their path within the swamp. Before the Brec'han, the zu'aan tribe would be always on the lookout for landmarks on their maps, one big tradition of the tribe was to keep these maps in hand. Always being aware of better places to fish, hunt and farm.

During the years of the Brec'han, the cliff, now known to be overrun by the Xinetoni Kin'toni Clan used to be marked by the drawing of a flying serpent and the words "hic svnt aa'lis" that can be translated from the zu'aan language to "here are winged", a reference for the word "aa'lis liel", that can be translated to "winged beasts" which is the term used by the zu'aan before learning the truth about the Xinetone Kin'toni Clan. This cliff is located by the west of the swamp, and it gives the kin'toni clan a very clear image of the whole place, making it very easy for them to plan battles and find zu'aan settlements.

As the first zu'aan tribe was located very near this cliff, many of the members, understood the creatures were coming from the place, called the cliff "Pa'haliel", which can be translated to "cliff of beasts". In the search for new places to settle, avoiding the pa'haliel, many zu'aan found places marked by their maps, using said landmarks. One of these landmarks, called "visa'la", is known to be a huge visa tree, commonly found in the swamp but in smaller pieces. The roots of the tree were naturally made in a way the zu'aan were able to build housing using the natural formation.

Creating a very specific type of settlement that can be almost hidden within the swamp. This is one of the few, if not the only, settlement in the Troineril Decaying Swamp to never have been attacked by the kin'toni. They still believed in the folklore about the beasts on the cliff, instead of being aware of the kin'toni clan. This tribe is also the only one to not communicate with the other tribes in the swamp, given their location. Other landmarks, like a very specific rock formation, made out of the same type of stone found on the cliff, are very used by zu'aan tribes, as the landmark is known to attract several wildlife creatures.

Plants

The flora in the Troineril Decayin Swamp is vast, most of it used by the zu'aan tribes as resources and materials. The swamp is known to be a muddy land, with several ponds of both deep and shallow waters. While the deeper lakes are used for fishing, said shallow ponds are mostly known to be the home for types of plants. Commonly located in said shallow ponds, it is possible to find hydroponic plantations made by zu'aan tribes. Some of the plants used in these farms are like the friect, a type of leafy vegetable, known to grow during all seasons, normally eaten by the zu'aan tribes after being boiled and turned into a thick cream.

This stew tends to be served with piavit, a type of fruit normally grown from the korter tree. The korter tree is another plant to grow only in the water, normally reaching around 10 meters tall and giving fruit all year round. Another plant commonly found in shallow waters is the liges, a type of vegetation with tall blades, used by the zu'aan as a fibre type of material. These greenish blades are normally put to dry near stoves and in the kitchen. Once the blade is dry it can be tied with itself, to produce durable sheets of material, commonly used in ceilings of houses or the base for beds.

Normally found around the shallow waters is the mushroom cirdin, this tall mushroom can grow up to one meter, it is possible to harvest, when mature, its white cap. The cap can be cut and fried in a pan with animal oil, normally eaten by several zu'aan tribes all year around. Other plants, independent of the location, tend to grow all over the swamp, like the lixeme, known to be another type of blade vegetation, this one can be found all over the ground, acting as some sort of soft grass hidden within the mud and waters in the swamp.

The unguen, actually a type of vegetable, tends to be harvested by zu'aan tribes during the hotter months of the year, as during the colder months, this plant freezes underground. The unguen can be dried in a similar way as the liges, but instead of using it for material, the dry unguen can be eaten. It is believed the plant possesses medicinal aspects. Beneto, is a tree very present in the biome. This tree does not produce fruit, but given the abundance of the plant, it is used a lot by zu'aan tribes and the kin'toni clan for its wood.

The insects commonly found in the swamp work as the base of the food chain for other bigger creatures. They are not small as someone would expect a mosquito to be, but they do tend to be smaller than other animals found in the biome. One of these insects is the hooted, known to nest under rocks and bark of trees, the creature produces a goo-like substance, known by several zu'aan tribes to work as a great medicinal paste. The goo-like substance tend to mixed with some other plants to achieve a more spreadable texture.

A tradition commonly found in the zu'aan tribes around the swamp, which can be tracked down before the Bra'chen, is the use of the miffic plant during special celebrations. This leafy plant is commonly found near rock formations, with a sweet taste, the tribe members tend to boil it and leave the boiled result to dry under the sun, to the point where they can break the hard pieces turning it into a thin powder. This powder is then sprinkled over certain foods to add a sweety and tangy taste.

Animals

The creatures found in the Troineril Decaying Swamp are several, most of them can be found underwater, but there are some who dwell on the surface. Some of the creatures commonly found underwater, normally in the deeper ponds, are like the picon, a type of huge reptile, known to be docile and to fall for simple traps set up by zu'aan tribes. The animal weighs around 400kg. Catching a picon is a huge achievement for a tribe, the meats of the animal can be cured and shared by the whole tribe for months, without the need to hunt or fish again for a long while.

Another animal found underwater is the vahene, another reptile, but smaller and harder to catch, normally left alone by zu'aan tribes. These creatures share their habitats with several fish, like the puliti, a very small creature who traves in groups and is normally caught by the tribe with nets. These creatures are normally sun-dried during the hotter months and kept inside clay pots to preserve them for the colder months. Other fish in the biome is like the optien, a bigger fish able to grow up to 10kg commonly caught during summer by the zu'aan tribes.

An adult opten serves as food for a whole family. Also commonly caught by the fishermen in the tribes are the okalla, the ciparm and the otines, all aquatic creatures caught by their meat and oils. Talking about terrestrial creatures who dwell in the Troineril Decaying Swamp. Thobin; is a lizard type creature who lives in trees. This creature is commonly used by the kin'toni clan to lure wandering zu'aan tribe members. The most common way to catch this animal is by waiting for it to sleep under the bark of trees. The kin'toni tend to catch and kill the animal, barely hiding it under the bark, making it easier for zu'aan members to see it and think they have found an easy catch.

Another animal who tends to dwell in trees, mostly fruit trees, is the urgantin, a four-footed mammal, commonly catch by zu'aan tribes and even the kin'toni clan for its heavy furry pelt. Turning it into a great pelt to be used during winter and hide from the sun. Skylla, is another type of mammal commonly found sleeping and hibernating under rock formations and plants. An important point about this creature is that it sleeps with groups, making it a big catch for zu'aan tribes, who use it for consumption. Normally by roasting the creature and sharing it with the tribe with vegetables and friect cream.

The lacifu is a known flying creature to live in the tall trees, hunting at night and attacking smaller bugs or lizards commonly found in the biome.
