Geography

The geography of the hills can be analysed in simple steps, located between an urban location, one of the biggest cities in the world, that was destroyed and overrun after the kin'toni outbreak. And a famous lake, which attracts a lot of wandering zu'aan tribes in the search of a better place to live. This turns the hills into a deathmatch, where zu'aan tribes are attacked by the Essoess Kin'toni Clan while being in their most defenceless moments. The kin'toni clan's main location is near the bottom of the hills, in a big cottage that works as their base in the forest.

This cottage is very close to the only safe path through the forest, giving the clan the best location to find lost zu'aan tribes. Following the path up the hills, it is possible to find several clearings, normally used by the clan to rest during the days. When the clan tends to venture into the wilderness they move caravans created by them to hide from the sun, said clearings work perfectly for them to set up camp and wake up with the first star and catch nocturnal animals in case they need it. Normally this occurrence is not common, since the clan tends to travel with prepared zu'aan blood encapsulated into iron canisters.

After these clearings at the top of the hills, it is possible to see the huge lake, still located within the Samchae Mixed Forest Hills boundaries, it is also another place where the kin'toni clan has a second base. Called by them as their second home, this base is left abandoned sometimes, while the first is never left untouched. This base is used for the same purpose as the first one, but since it's not so common for zu'aan tribes to cross the path from the lake to the big city and if they do so, they will be spotted by the first location, the clan leaves it alone.

Using the second base more as a "vacation house" when they venture into the forest. There are other cottages used by the clan in situations similar to these ones, as the forest tends to spread itself for miles and miles, the clan is aware of most of the cabins and cottages located in it. With their claim to the forest, they also adorn said cottages and cabins with their flag, a symbol of a black skull. Placed around the forest are several other small cottages and cabins, kept by the clan as bait and traps for wandering zu'aan tribes.

The clan tends to build "farms" around said places, trying to not look like it's a settlement, they try to plant several vegetables found in the area like they are simply abundant in the region, leading lost zu'aan tribes directly into said abandoned houses. Where the trap is set. Once the tribe find the place to be abandoned but good to spend a night or even settle, the kin'toni clan will attack, keeping lookouts everywhere hidden in the woods, they always know where to strike in the middle of the night.

Plants

Most of the trees located in the Samchae Mixed Forest Hills are used by the Essoess Kin'toni Clan for wood, for the construction of their weapons, caravans and even for repairs in their cottages and cabins.

Atwish is a type of tall tree with a thin trunk, home to several small wildlife creatures. Used by the clan for its malleable yet strong wood. During winter the tree produces a hard fruit, that can be used by zu'aan tribes as a form of food, normally boiled with water.

Unnate is another type of tall tree, but with a thicker trunk. The bark is normally used by the kin'toni clan for its properties in attracting wildlife creatures, working as bait, as the bark expells a strong musky smell.

The geepht tree is often used for its sap, a small tree with a thin body, one geepth tree is able to produce around one or two gallons of sap per day. This sap is used by the Essoess Kin'toni Clan to repair and glue several of their items.

Oilit, another thicker tall tree, normally this plant is not used by the tribe, even if they do appreciate the strong wood, but because of that, it is too hard to cut it down, needing a lot of man power they don't want to waste, considering they can still use other trees located in the forest.

There are several other trees in the Samchae Mixed Forest Hills, but most of them don't have any usage for the kin'toni clan, as they tend to look for specific materials to solve their needs. Some trees like the utenti, the hiewor or the plitai are not used.

Other plants native to the region can be consumed by zu'aan, being this a big reason as to why the land tends to attract a lot of them. Like the jajueri, a common vegetable easy to spot, growing outside the ground in nature. This vegetable can be used as a meat replacement and it used to be present in several diets of zu'aan tribes.

Another vegetation commonly found in the hills is the tangenic, a type of leaf that grows on the surface of the ground. This leaf was actually domesticated by zu'aan tribes, being very easy to grow, and easily found in several zu'aan settlements around the world.

Other plants native to the biome are the hyest or the unplelp, both of which can be eaten by zu'aan and work great for their diets.

It is common for the Essoess Kin'toni Clan to set up fake "farms" around the boundaries of their forest, trying to lure wandering zu'aan tribes. These fake farms are built to look accidental, instead of giving the idea they are a zu'aan tribe, they work to show the abundance of food in the forest.

Near these places, the kin'toni tribe has small housing set up as traps, the idea is that a lost zu'aan would find this food source and follow it to a simply abandoned cottage, simply to be surprised by the kin'toni clan during the night.

There are several other vegetation in the forest, such as berry bushes, fruit trees, types of grass and mosses on the trees. Many of these mosses are used by the clan members as second protection against the sun on the ceiling of their cottages.

Animals

Another important piece of the Samchae Mixed Forest Hills is the native animals of the region. Many of those can be used by the Essoess Kin'toni Clan in case they run out and need a replacement for the zu'aan blood.

Some animals like the boxemp, is a hoofed four-footed furry creatures, weighting around 500kg, this creature is often used by the clan members for their warm pelts and antlers, to be turned into weapons. Another animal used for it’s antlers is the mawsen, this creature tends to dwell underground, with claws perfectly made for digging, the mawsen hides underground during the day and leaves to look for food during the night.

The forena is another four-footed heavy mammal used by the clan members for its pelt. It is commonly used by zu'aan tribes as meat to be fed to the tribe. Together with another creature called mostat, which is known to be commonly found in and outside the Samchae Mixed Forest Hills. This creature is also used as bait for wandering zu'aan tribes by the Essoess Kin'toni Clan. As the clan tends to hunt these creatures and leave the fresh meat on the boundaries of the forest, they do not allow the meat to rot, afraid that would actually scare their zu'aan victims.

The anlosk is a type of bird of prey commonly found in the region, although being small, it hunts in groups, commonly feeding on other smaller creatures in the forest, like the lugnes, a small lizard-type of creature or the toarbi, a two-footed furry mammal native from the region.

The goterp creature is kept by the clan members as cattle, this creature is easy to be kept in enclosed spaces. When the clan runs out of zu'aan blood and they search for bigger creatures to be drained of blood, the goterp is used as bait. Instead of hunting deep in the woods, this activity is preferred, as the clan prefers the thrill of hunting zu'aan tribes.

Other creatures native to the Samchae Mixed Forest Hills are aquatic, living in the lake on the other side of the hills, like the bakill, a very small frog type creature, normally used by bigger ones in the food chain, and the fizori, a fish with red colouring, which tends to attract zu'aan tribes for fishing. One of these creatures, called obedal, tends to be a threat to the clan whine they wander in the wildness, as a silent and nocturnal creature, the obedal weights around 400kg of pure violence and will feed on any living being.

The clan actually works into turning the obedal into an extinct creature, since they would rather be the only real predators in the region. The presence of the obedal makes it harder for them to attract and kill zu'aan tribes, as they tend to be pushed away from the creature.
