Geography

The Rnvild region was a fertile fen region blooming with all kinds of vegetation. Geographically, the region was known for the large Rnvild river that flowed across the region. This river would regularly overflow its banks, causing its waters to spill over to the relatively flat ground on either side of its banks and form water inundated fen regions. These grounds were fertile and supported a wide variety of temperate and coniferous plants as well as animals. The region had a distinctively dark and sombre atmosphere with a dark green vegetation.

That had to be able to adapt to the low light conditions of the region owing to the heavy cloud cover that lasted all year round. There was the occasional high round that would occur all over the region which were covered by forests. These solid grounds filled with lots of readily available building material were ideal locations for the zu'aan natives to build their first settlements. The native zu'aan of the region also carried out their cultivation activities on large tracts of farmland that were formed by draining the wetlands to form proper fields required for agricultural activities.

The Rnvild region was known for its constantly high yields that was vital for the survival of the region's inhabitants. It was also home to a wide variety of wildlife that could adapt to the cold and wet conditions of the region. These animals usually had long fur coats that could preserve their body heat as well as keep their body dry. Aside from predators, the region also had a variety of domesticated animals and cattle that provided the zu'aan with both food and milk to supplement their diets.

Their healthy and varied diet was directly responsible for the native's strong immune system and their metabolism. The Rnvild region was known for its cold and wet climate that was fairly constant all year round. The region experienced three seasons in a year- spring, summers and winter. Springtime in the region was indicated by the flowering plants that would cover much of the terrain. The temperatures during this season would hang around the low twenties with small amounts of precipitation that would occur in the form of light drizzles.

This was followed by the summer season when the temperature would rise to the mid-twenties followed by more regular rainfall. These downpours would lead to a rise in the water levels of the river and lead to its banks overflowing with water. This season experienced the most daylight which would gradually begin to decline with the arrival of winter. During the winters the temperatures would drop to single digits. Frosts and mists would become a daily occurrence and the muddy slush covering the grounds would occasionally freeze over in the early mornings.

Most of the non-coniferous plants of the region would shed their leaves during this time of the year only to regrow, once the harshest part of the winter had passed. Cold winds were another common occurrence during this time of the year and greatly contributed to the fall in temperatures of the region.

Plants

The vegetation of the Rnvild region was a mix of coniferous and seasonal temperate plants that could adapt to the cold conditions as well as the overwhelmingly watery grounds of the region. The Rnvild was also known for its lack of sunlight and its constant cloud cover. The plants had to be able to live in these conditions and make use of what little light was available. This contributed to the dark tones of the tree leaves which were mostly dark green in color and gave the region a very dark atmosphere.

The seasons also played a large part in the vegetation of the region. In winter, most of the seasonal trees would lose their leaves and become dry and stick-like while the coniferous trees retained their needle-like leaves. The Rnvild region was also home to many crops that grew in the zu'aan-made fields that were formed by draining the land off the excess water. The soil was fertile enough to support these crops and provided the inhabitants with a constant supply of food grains.

The most famous types of plants in the region included the ach'ory coniferous tree, the seasonal darasawserine tree, the flowering biage grasses that covered many parts of the open grounds and the waras crops that were a staple diet of the inhabitants. The ach'ory was a coniferous tree that grew within the Rnvild region. They had adapted to growing in the watery conditions of the region and had deep penetrating roots that anchored it to the soggy soil. The tree could grow to a height of over twenty feet and was a vital resource for the natives who used it for the construction of their settlements.

Clumps of these trees growing in large groves could hold the soil together, firmly and led to more reliable soil conditions around these spots. The darasawserine was a seasonal tree that was grew alongside the ach'ory and other varieties of trees in the Rnvild region. It could grow to a height of over fifteen feet and was known for its lighter green leaves which was unlike the darker leaves of most of the trees in the region. It would shed its leaves during the winter when the tree would become dry and shriveled.

The biage was a type of grass that could grow everywhere in the Rnvild region. It could reach up to a height of four feet and was known for its multicolored flowers that would bloom during the spring season. It was a source of food for many of the cattle and plant-eating wildlife, while also being usable as insulation, pillows or beds when they were dried and gathered in clumps. The waras was a common crop of the Rnvild zu'aan. It was grown on the drained grounds of the fen and was able to provide a consistently high yield that made them popular throughout the region.

It produced a corn like fruit that could be eaten whole or grinded down to make bread or other foods. They could be found around settlements and could easily be identified by their dark yellow seeds that grew at the tips of the stalk.

Animals

The Rnvild region was home to various kinds of wildlife that could survive in the cold and wet conditions of the region. The region could be very dangerous to the unaccustomed, due to the high likelihood of catching hypothermia and other cold and wet related afflictions. To combat these dangers, the wildlife of the region grew naturally long and thick fur that could preserve their body heat while also keeping them sheltered from the wet surroundings. The animals could range from predators to cattle and plant-eating animals that fed on the grasslands of the region.

These animals played an important role in supporting zu'aan habitation of the region. They harvested the hide and fur of these animals, which they used to create warm clothing and cloaks. These were vital for their survival in the unpredictably cold winters and the wet conditions of the region. The animals were also a vital source of meat and milk, and were used to supplement the native diet. They could also become primary sources of food when agriculture failed. Some of the most common wildlife of the region included the black atgha bear that lived deep within the forested lands of the region.

The em'ing- a wild species of deer that freely roamed the wet grounds of the region in search of its next pasture, the small kalny hare that lived in tiny burrows all over the Rnvild region and the colorful yalor bird. The atgha was one of the most famous predators of the Rnvild region. It was known for its acute sense of smell and eyesight that enabled it to trek its prey across many miles. It was covered in a thick coat of black fur that was a valuable commodity among the zu'aan. This warm coat of fur was used to craft many of the zu’aan’s winter clothes.

The animal could grow to a height of over eight feet and was known for its deceptive agility, despite weighing a hefty five hundred pounds. Its paws were equipped with opposable thumbs that allowed it to scale trees and manipulate basic tools within the environment. The em'ing was an easily-spooked species of deer that roamed the grounds of the Rnvild fen. It was the main source of meat for the zu'aan natives of the region who practiced their archery skills on these very swift and agile creatures.

The male em'ing could grow two large set of antlers that could be carved into all sorts of tools and weapons. The kalny hare were a quickly reproducing species of wildlife that could be found in large numbers in many parts of the Rnvild region. It was a small creature that could easily fit inside a zu'aan palm and its meat yield was too low to become a stable source of food. Its soft fur was used to make the most luxurious coats. The yalor was a nut eating bird that lived on the coniferous trees of the Rnvild region.

It was known for its distinctive multi-colored plume and its call which was similar to the shrieking of a zu'aan. It made its nest on the branches of these trees and was regularly hunted for its plumes which were used to craft exotic headgear and other decorative items.
