History

After the fight between Tor'kal Irinet and Dargus Irinet, Dargus was left battered and bruised in the forest where he and his brother had fought. On the final day of their battle, he was down with deep wounds and blood seeping out from them. He fell unconsious and was thought to be dead. Dargus woke up to being in a forest, and he spent days searching for food and shelter. He was forced to let his wounds heal merely by the protection of big leaves to cover them from dirt.

During his journey to find shelter, he acquired new-found strength, he had gained better physique and higher mobility than he ever had while still in the Irinet clan. Dargus trained himself to be stronger - an immediate result of his loss against his brother weeks before. The reason he wanted to become stronger was because he couldn't bear the idea of losing again. He practised to fight faster and over time he was able to move with heightened speed and stealth. He fed off animals, as he could not since no humans dared to venture into the forests.

After several weeks of wandering around, Dargus finally stumbled upon a zu'aan village - Lakah City. With his newly acquired skills, he invaded the village by himself. The villagers, who were unprepared and weak against his sudden attack, were defeated and mass-slaughtered. Soon, he went to visit his previous clan. He had heard of the rebels of the Irinet clan and sought for their alliance. He brought with him some bodies of the zu'aan elders he had killed for the risen Kin'toni to feed.

He also proved to them his newly acquired skills which he swore to teach them if they joined him. Convinced, the Kin'toni went with him, and Dargus helped train them to be stronger like him. After Dargus and his followers left, they created a new clan, calling their the Ivoro clan, after the eldest memer of the newly-formed clan. Together, they took over the entire Lakah City, where the zu'aan were forced into captivity. Every week a zu'aan will be killed to feed the Kin'toni of the Ivoro clan.

The Ivoro Kin'toni held full power over the village, and the zu'aan were too powerless to fight back. Over the years, many other clans, which emerged to be stronger than the Ivoro Kin'toni, have sought the Ivoro as food whenever zu'aan population decreased in their territory. Victims are often the weak Ivoro which did not strive through their training and have little to no abilities. The Ivoro ultimately have been known as the Irinet successors, since the stronger clans better acknowledge the stronger Kin'toni.

Being quite low in the clan hierachy, the Ivoro are still potential food to the stronger clans and this makes the Ivoro to stay in their own territory with limited venturing to maintain the population of their clan. Over time, the Ivoro have developed super-jump as part of their adaption against enemies, although enemies from the top strongest clans are still able to overpower the Ivoro. zu'aan, though, are very vulnerable to the Ivoro because of this.

While super-jump enables the Ivoro Kin'toni to escape quick from the enemies, this also allows them to perch on top of houses or trees to watch their captives. Having invaded an entire village made the Ivoro appealing to the other clans, especially when it came to their food. Other clans frequently attack Lakah City to steal the captured zu'aan. The Ivoro then result to build a wall around the village with resources such as wood and clay. zu'aan were kept in a specified area to work and live with Ivoro Kin'toni watching closely.

Biology

The eyes of the Ivoro Kin'toni have light yellow irises with black sclerae and horizontal slit pupils. Though originally from the same Irinet clan, the Ivoro have light yellow irises instead of the Isskel yelloe irises due to their ability to move very fast in daylight, receving limited exposure to sunlight. The horizontal slits as their pupils were inherited from their previous Irinet clanwhich ceased into slits due to lack of hunting. Their hair colour is mostly a pale brown, and frizzy due to lack of washing.

Their skin has become paler due to low exposure to sunlight over the years. As their skin easily gets rashed, the Ivoro have forced the zu'aan of Lakah City to make sleeves and skin remedies for protection against the sun. Despite easily obtaining rashes, the Ivoro have developed thick skin as part of their evolution from the Irinet clan. Just like the Isskel, their fangs have receded into their heads, as they have new ways to feed all thanks to technological advancements adapted from the zu'aan.

The Ivoro developed an abilty to suppress hunger, so their bodies only require weekly feeding on humans. Training has made their bodies immune to various diseases. With the invaded village in their hands, they plenty of food source. The Ivoro stand at an average height of 7 feet, taller than their counterparts in the Isskel clan. In contrast to their tall height, the Ivoro Kin'toni are lean-built as they do not regularly feed on zu'aan. Their strong physique is obtained through vigorous training.

Through years of training, which new additions to the Kin'toni clan are required to undergo, the Kin'toni have developed high stamina which deeply impacts their enemies views on them. The Ivoro can escape from enemies easily with their speed and stamina. The Ivoro Kin'toni have many powers related to strength. This includes heightened speed, stealth and super-jump.

They are able to jump up into trees as a measure to escape from land enemies, especially while venturing out for resources. This abilty helps them to escape easily without being intercepted by certain enemies. The Ivoro also have sharp long ears which helps when fighting or escaping enemies. The ears are capable of moving towards the direction of sound which heightens their hearing abilities. They have blunt nails, which are thin due to no important use to feed and kill after technological advancements.

Although they have good strength, the Ivoro are the second lowest in the clan hierachy. They are considerably weak in ability and strength against the other twelve clans of the Kin'toni. Even with the ability to escape easily, this ability is seemingly useless against more powerful clans such as the the Ja Anarath Kin'toni and the J'tar Kin'toni.

The Ivoro are often prey to the stronger clans, and become food to these cannibalistic Kin'toni. Their speed is incomparable to the stronger clans, which thus contributes to them becoming victims of other clans. Dependance on technology also makes the Ivoro vulnerable against the strength and powers their enemies have.

Culture

The special skill of Ivoro for high jumps make them feel safe on tall places like branches, rooftops and cliffs, they also feel comfortable behind tall walls and tight windows. Due their habit to look for high points to watch the surroundings they use to build pylons made of wood on their territory. These pylons are made of large wooden pieces assembled together to make high and tight structures, taller than natural trees. They have a large architecture and materials knowledge that let them build high and resistant structures, strong enough for both daily moves and battle defenses.

Ivoro have resort parks that really are training areas to develop their skills and get better control of their body in the air, they practice jumping from pole to pole, they only can touch the pole with the sole of the feet. Training areas special to melee fight and shooting have no poles but dummies made of wooden structure and full of hay to imitate the shape and density of the enemy. Their architecture is characterized by high walls with flat rooftops, occasional steps and no doors since they use the windows to go from a house to other.

They designed windows with thick wooden planks to block the sunlight during day, easy to open whenever they go out. Different to Isskel, Ivoro have a writing system, they use to write and read manuscripts carved on clay or wooden tablets that use to be instructions, manuals or memory notes, few of their writings are poetry. The weight of their writing material is a limit that force them to write short lines or write small fonts, they have no long literature pieces.

Ivoro citizens know how to write their own names, they have the habit of write their names on high places where they like to stand and watch the surroundings. They also write their names on the wall below the windows to others know where each one lives. Carrying heavy weight across tall walls is hard, that´s why pulleys to lift are common in the architecture, they use frequently sacks and nets to lift weights of food, material or resources through the pulleys.

Ropes are common in Ivoro culture to tie sacks, make nets and lift the weight to their destination. With the rope citizens use to tie small sacks or medium pieces of material to their back, that way they can carry a limited amount of objects from a part to another. Productions buildings use to have many windows with pulleys to bring material and extract finished pieces, they have many kinds of production as preserved food, cutting stone, tailor benches, smithy, assemble tables, pottery and artistic shops.

Poles and pylons are part of the sports and art. Ivoro have games which must be played jumping from pole to pole, where it´s forbidden to touch the floor; some of these sports are races, others are fighting matches. Less competitive are the dances they perform by jumps and poses in the midair, some of these dances are using objects like tablets, ropes and flags. Dances are for artistic expression, with aesthetic and cultural meanings.

Government

After Dargus and his followers created the Ivoro clan, they took over the entire Lakah City, where the zu'aan were forced into captivity. Dargus became the governor, as a civilized clan he divided the city by districts and selected their followers to control each district. The city is divided in central district, where the governor lives; smithy district, where iron objects as work tools and weapons are manufactured; food district, where meals are processed; farm district, where activities like agriculture, cattle and zu´aan are managed.

These is east district, where citizens work in pottery, clay, mining and cutting stone; south district, where soldiers are trained for the battle; and north district, the capital of art and religion. Dargus selected deans to control each district according the skills they master. The deans are the bosses of each district, they have their own subordinates that usually are from 1 to 3 assistants and an accountant. The deans must check the production projects are done, each district has many workers that follow the instructions of the deans and their assistants.

The deans must go to a meeting with the governor once at eight days, the deans must bring the accountant to deliver their account tables to the governor accountant system; during the meeting the dean´s assistants control the district production. The governor has his own assistants, a group of eight elders who manage different aspects of the city, as construction, life quality, population, lacks of the districts, and diplomatic relations.

There is a group of accountants too that read and register the content of the account tables of each district, this information is used to make calculations that indicate the progress of the city. The deans are judged by their labor results along 2 years, if their results are below the positive ratio calculated by the accountant system the dean is replaced and other will take the control of the district, generally the assistants replace the dean; it is possible a dean quit no matter if their results are positive, it rarely happens.

Engineers are a group of workers that follow instructions from the central district, they work along all the districts, their duty is to check the state of walls, windows, pylons, poles and pulleys. They must fix and replace anything they find in tattered conditions, engineers must write reports of their inspections, the pieces fixed or replaced.Like engineers, guards patrol all the districts, they are under direct orders of central district too. Guards must check there are no citizens wandering without reason, stop fights and arrest thieves and vandals.

There are prisons in central district, the arrested citizens must spend their days there with no food until they are released. Prisoners can get their freedom back in two ways, if somebody else pay for let them go or work in prison until earn work enough to get their own liberty back. Prison work depends of the prisoner skills, if the prisoner decides to use the work tools as weapons guards can execute him instantly.

Military

The dean of the south district is a general, their assistants are captains, and it is the only dean that has not accountant. The general checks the results of the captains, the captains have a brigade of 40 soldiers each one, it´s the duty of the captains to keep in shape the soldiers. The Ivoro army power is based in long range weapons, since they can reach long distances fast their weapons give them a big advantage.

The captains train the soldiers in endurance, melee combat and moving formations, but the main training for more of the army is the aim, practicing with long range weapons like bows, javelins, bows, and throwing knives. Each soldier must be capable of make a bullseye from 30 feet distance. The soldiers use the speed and high jump as main advantages in battle, for better movement control they wear light armors of leather in the chest. Small armor pieces let them give higher jumps without problem.

The training includes resist long periods of time without eat, then the soldiers are even lighter. In Melee combat could be disadvantage sometimes, especially if the enemy is a stronger kin'toni race; melee combat is the last mean. The combat formations are leaded by the captains, by screaming loud codenames for each formation. Captains decide the formations according the kind of enemy and the course of the battle, there is a codename to cancel an order formation in the first three seconds, other way the formation can´t be cancelled.

The most effective attack is jumping above the enemy and let fall over them a rain of knives and arrows, so ironic the weak point of the soldiers is to be received down with spears if the enemy guess their landing point. There are formations to surround the enemy and shoot from high points or formations to flee with low probability of losses. There is a soldier named colossus, the colossus are the only soldiers that wears heavy armor. The colossus wears a thick, dense armor that covers all the body to attack directly to the enemy by moving spears or long blades with both hands.

The colossus duty is to reduce the barriers of the enemy and let easy targets to the Ivoro archers. The colossus armor is removable, if the situation is critic and the enemy is too strong it is possible to the colossus to get out from the armor and flee jumping. Ivoro soldiers prefer to fight on their own territory, that´s why they build pylons and poles that would be useful to watch the enemy movements and to shoot from distance; big pylons have wooden platforms that can work as barriers.

The long range attacks and fast moves gives to the Ivoro the advantage in battle against most of enemies, however they are vulnerable to melee attacks, closed spaces and during rainy days their weapons don´t work properly, Ivoro will always look for open field battles.

Religion

Dargus was left battered and bruised in the forest where he and his brother had fought. He fell unconsious and was thought to be dead. Dargus woke up to being in a forest, he believed the god of fate save him to give him the chance to get revenge. Dargus spread to their followers the believing of the god of fate, that grants second chances if it is pleased with the fighting spirit of each one. Ivoro clan is a polytheist culture that believes in more gods than the god of fate.

They believe in a god of the construction, that let them build better structures and care of their believers from work accidents. Another deity is the god of wind that gives calm days when he is happy and send wild gales when he is mad; strong gales are bad for moving on air during jumps. The soldiers pray to the god of aim, a deity that it is believed help to the soldiers to focus and make bullseye after shoot, this god is very important for all the soldiers who use long range weapons.

Each district has a determined god according their work, it´s common to find religious altars in the workshops and labor places. The best places to pray to the gods is in altars or in high places, many Ivoro citizens pray standing over rooftop corners or poles. There are religious pylons that were built for specific gods, where many citizens stand up to pray together, in certain celebrations they dance in those pylons to make happy to their god. Pray is common practice, once or twice a day during few minutes.

It is believed if somebody don´t pray gods will get mad and don´t will protect him from accidents and wounds. In Ivoro the priests are citizens that rejected to live in houses or work on districts, they decide to live in the street, and spending most of their time stand up in the religious pylon of a specific god. Instead arrest them, the citizens ask for advices to these priests believing they are a link to the gods and their answer will be word of god.

The priests use to give preaches standing in the top of the pylons, the believers stand up close to listen as a religious practice. There are no rules written in the religious beliefs, there are not faults tagged as sins, but it is believed each time an individual makes something wrong the gods will punish them, sometimes this punish is the rage of a crowd that lynch the bad individuals. Although there are different gods with specific altars each one, Ivoro citizens can believe in all of them or more of them, it is considered the god of fate is the main god and the rest of gods are his sons.

The only forbidden gods are those that other clans bring, that are not sons of the god of fate.

Miscellany

By order of Dargus nobody can interfere in fights of two brothers until one of them falls dead. In the prison there are skeletons of citizens that were arrested, nobody paid for their liberty and instead work to earn money enough to get free they preferred to die by starvation. The city is divided in seven districts, some citizens believe the underground mines should be considered the eight district. In some houses lives families, in other lives groups of friends; soldiers can´t live in houses, they must move to the barracks in the south district.

There is not a specific way to build religious altars, altars are different in each district. Ivoro citizens know about books and paper, white paper is very valued since they have no way to produce it and few trade caravans bring paper. Many soldiers use to wear necklaces of a wooden piece carved with the symbol of the god of aim, they are the only ones who believe in this god. Religious pylons have space enough for 30 citizens stand up besides the priest.

One of the most frequent crime is when vandals write their name in walls of houses where they don´t live. The most reinforced part in the colossus armor is the legs, that way the colossus will keep the legs intact to flee fast despite wounds in arms and torso. Ivoro citizens can choose which district they want to work, if they are not good on it they can choose another district. Workers that are not good in any specialized labor must work hauling or cleaning.

Priests used to be ordinary citizens that one day forgot their name, their work district and dedicated their life to pray to a specific god, believers share food with them. Citizens use to buy religious sculptures from other kin'toni clans because they consider them more like art pieces, they don´t pray to them. The army has soldiers that jump over the enemy to tear apart sacks of dust and let fall clouds of dust over the enemy forces as a kind of smoke screen.

Most of districts has their own sport team to play in tournaments against the other districts, north district has two teams and south district has three teams. The priests don´t make weddings but the elders of central district, priests are not capable of manage ceremonies more than their improvised preaches. Some gods have no shape, they are represented with spiral waves or amorphous flow sculptures and paintings.

Since Ivoro city is surrounded by high walls trade caravans can´t enter to the city, many travelers wonders how is inside the city but they are not disposed to pay for see. Engineers must check the pylons outside the city too, if they watch enemies around they must give their report to the general in south district first instead central district.
