Ight'turu Kin'toni Clan
History
From the first seven pupils of Estard kin'toni clan, Ight’turu and Ild’ome were the most notorious and cunning. Under the prosperity of the great kingdom there was nuisance brewing in form of illegal trade and manipulation of resources, primarily facilitated by Igh’turu and Ild’ome. As there was no dearth of resources before the age of pandemonium, ight’turu would hoard resources, and Ild’ome was master of false narratives. Ight’turu kin'toni managed to find the most amazing ways to hide plants and animals and would secretly release toxic materials into the territories of other clans, to create an imbalance in demand and supply.
He believed he needed to do this because there was no way he could have competed with the likes of Iasul kin’toni and other pupils based on merit and competence. Not everyone is equally gifted, obviously, so there was no end to how low a person can stoop to survive, and when the right opportunity presents itself, thrive on the chaos. Ight’turu kin'toni loved his clan members and was always finding interesting ways to keep everyone happy and pleased. He would accumulate all the rare resources for his members and would enjoy them to no ends, but secretly.
He knew if one of the other clans, except Ild’ome, who was his perennial partner in crime, were to ever find out about the nature of his betrayal, it would be impractical to hope for mercy. This loophole in governance and reign of Estard kin'toni clan became one of the seven key reasons for “the Great Exile” which later paved the way for “the age of pandemonium”. Ight’turu Kintoni clan was always poised to make a move on the opportunity to grow. They were keen listeners and undetectable haters of other beings and their situations.
It was their ability to maneuver their way amidst all forms of hardships that made them seemingly special. They did have a slight conflict with Ild’ome kin'toni clan, but there was no way they would ever make those issues public, as it was impossible for them to survive against each other or alone. At time they joked that it was like a bad marriage, which was important for both the parties for their survival.Their key nemesis was not any other clan as they could dominate them all with their resourcefulness but was a kind of phenomenon that occurred in a few clans, every now and then. This phenomenon was called “zagarmatani”.
“Zagarmatani” is the pinnacle of competence and competitiveness that a being or its kind can attain. Once unlocked, it triggers an irreversible metamorphosis in a person, which only stops with self-immolation or “Samadhini” (eternal silence of the universe). Ieni’s kin'toni Clan became the first “Zagarmatani” kingdom, and like all such power centers, they became an imminent threat to the vicious intentions and proceedings of Ight’turu and Ild’ome Clan. Iasul kin'toni – the first ever Zagarmatani.
Knew at the beginning of his pursuit that a situation could arise, when some of the vicious clans would try and harm “zagarmatanis” by spreading hatred and bad words against them and had prepared a way out for the noble “zagarmatanis”, but such a path would be full of sacrifices and tragedies. Iasul and Ieni kin'toni clans were not the kind to shy away from such regrettable necessities, the only challenge was, “who could believe such ruthless warriors?” Ight’turu and Ild’ome kin'toni clans took advantage of this conundrum and cultivated a clan of slaves to encounter “zagarmatanis”. T
They secretly farmed hundreds of zu'aan and turned them and branded them “Ina’suli kin'toni” and propagated their identities as ushers into the new age of clans, with harmony and prosperity of the past, with potential to revive and resurrect Estard kin'toni’s lost glory.
Biology
Their eyes have green irises with black sclerae and a horizontal rectangular pupils. They were physically the weakest of all the clans, but just like Ild'ome kin'toni clan, they were very smart. They could fight their battles, pick their food, run away from danger, but would certainly panic when confronted with courage and truth. Their mental prowess was an outcome of their insecurity and inhibition. It was as if they had to do something to compensate for the their weak physiology, and this made them desperate.
They were often bullied by Iasul kin'toni, but in a friendly and innocuous manner, during the rule of Estard kin'toni. However, it was impossible for anyone to fathom how offended they felt, and how progressively evil and vindictive those traumas made them. One could empathise with with their physiology and past, but their end was in a lot of ways, scripted by them, with the same passion that fuel their hatred for other clans. It was only befitting that their own kind, an adducted turnee.
Who was rejected by the Ight'turu kin'toni society and turned into a solo hitter, would become a "zagarmatani" under Iasul kin'toni clan, and would become their prime nemesis as Ieni kin'toni.
Culture
All the clans under Estard kin'toni could have their own unique worldview. Estard made sure that diversity and vivacity of these clans could help the larger kingdom flourish and at the same time would never run out of newer ways to be. During the age of exile these cultures came to their own, and some even started to impose on the others their worldview. Ight’turu and Ild’ome kin'toni clans were secretive about their religion and the culture emerging from it. They believed in triangular worldview, which meant that two people come together for a third thing.
That, in most cases, in not something supernatural or philosophical, but is instead something very basic like resources or food. This Triangular Ideology implied that whatever an individual was supposed to pursue with another, is meaningless without it turning out to be something tangible and measurable. They had no scope of ambiguity or vagueness in their culture, and someone who could not arrive at a logical, and provable consequence, was sent to the military front lines to die.
Rich got richer and the poor were militarised in Ight’turu and Ild’ome kin'toni clans. It was believed that the rich get their rewards based on their actions and while poor deserve a glorified death. If everyone accepts these terms, there was no danger to the overall functioning of their cultural system. It was an effective way for the clan to ensure that there are no surprises or restlessness. Even the poor and disenfranchised were talked highly of publicly so that there is no chance of revolution within the clan.
The influence and penetration of the rich was such that they could sense conflicts brewing at a nascent stage and then would go out of their ways to make sure that such potential disasters are neutralized in the crib. Most of the rich folks within the clan got their wealth from stealing and trading rare resources and hoarding them till the demands skyrocketed. This was an efficient way to keep their wealth compounding over time, and also have tremendous control over the rest of the clans.
Ight’turu kin'toni clan prioritised acquisition over creativity. They believed it was more efficient to gather what is that to try and replicate it by investing time and energy. They never encouraged the members of their clans to come up with new and unique ideas, and instead urged everyone to find newer ways to win old battles. According to Ight’turu kin'toni clan there were only old problems of survival and to find a new problem was a selfish act of distraction.
The only thing that they ever cultivated and created was the Ina’suli kin’toni clan, but as Ild’ome kin'toni would articulate it, “Ight’turu kin'toni clan is great at appreciating and acknowledging the right ideas. However, they are absolutely garbage in creating one or any. Ight’turu kin'toni can never be treated as co-creators, they are and will always be great investors, and unfortunately, good ideas need great investors.”
Government
Most of the control of clan was with the “superclass”, who were at the core of all decisions. They were old and weak in terms of their physicality but knew all the secrets about wealth and resources needed to sustain the clan. This superclass was the oldest living generation of traders and thieves, and in Ight’turu kin'toni Clan the distinction between those terms was practically impossible to ascertain, who would super impose their discretion and will to all affairs of the state.
They never hassled while making decisions, but to the utmost bewilderment of those who didn’t know them well, it seemed like most of their suggestions and choices were instinctive. Such is the power of experience, and algorithms like 31: 69 ratios, that those who do not understand the body of knowledge dictating those decisions could be left charmed, to say the least. “Superclass” was irreplaceable, like a queen in a beehive, and were much respected due to their efficacy and success rates.
They were pivotal in keeping Estard kin'toni clan harmonious, conspired to trigger their downfall and flourished with the support of despicable allied like Ild’ome kin'toni clan. “The middle class” was the most dynamic and dependable strata of the society. They did all the heavy lifting for the clan, including the dirty deeds and manipulative negotiations with other tribes. The incentive was clear to them – become “the superclass” of the clan. And they would, every now and then, as a member of the “superclass” passed away, the richest and the most resourceful member would take up their place.
They were also responsible to manage and communicate with “the dispensables” of the society and grooming them as military, and make sure that there is no mutiny in their society. There was no reason for the middle class to ever doubt that they didn’t have a chance of becoming part or whole of “superclass” as every now and then there would be an opening. The number of members in superclass were always growing with the prosperity of the clan, which was a bit troubling for the members who wondered if it is becoming less challenging and more rewarding to be their kind.
Hence, they gave a command to increase the military size, and designed programs to attack other clans. This was perceived as a threat by Ild’ome so they came up with a unique idea to start a false clan called Ina’suli kin'toni, on the principles of triangular worldview. This also distracted the middle class from actively pursuing their ambitions of becoming “superclass”. The control and power of this “superclass” was challenged by the rise of scribblings from Ieni kin'toni clan, as it was a product that could be interpreted in more than one way.
This confused the traders and thieves in determining and negotiating the real value of anything, as they had no idea how to quantify something so abstract.
Military
Philosophy:
The thieves who get caught and the traders who fail to make profit were immediately sent to military. They were broken down mentally and physically and then rebuilt to defend the clan. Ight’turu kin'toni clan had no space for sloppiness, so whatever one pursued it had to match the best of expectations. Once these prospective military personnel were identified, broken and trained they were made to fight each other in trials. Their combat would only end with one of the participant’s death and the survivor was made to fight 10 such battles battles before they were ready to be a part of the military.
There were two broad categories of the military:
A. Group mercenaries and plunderers: These military members would hunt in groups, would have proper commands to coordinate with each other and even have team goals. They rarely fought battles out in open. Most of the time they would be send on secret missions, adorning the mannerisms and features of other clans to hunt them from within like imposters.
B. Solo hitters: These were the survivors from the trials who had killed more than 100 opponents and had lost all sense of fear or desire in their lives. They lived to kill and were kept in cells and fed leftovers. These survivors were extremely dangerous and could not be trusted to follow any commands or instructions. They were just unleashed in situations that demanded total destruction, for the benefit of ight’turu clan, and sometimes left in the battlefield alone to die.
Absolute strength:
Roughly half of the clan members were militants and were kept in separate garrisons and camps, far away from the city. There were commanders who reported directly to “the superclass” and would carry forward their instructions without flinching one bit. “The superclass” used ild’ome kin’toni clan’s narrative to keep their armies in check, and had proper storytellers hired to keep their military inspired and engaged. They would be told all kinds of lies like afterlife and how glorious their sacrifices were for the greater good of all clans and not just Ight’turu clan.
Style:
The group mercenaries and plunderers would depend on each other for their missions, rather heavily. They would make proper plans and carry out rehearsals to make sure that there was no surprise factor. A key component of their strategy would be the usage of solo hitters. They would sacrifice a few solo hitters to create a state of panic against their rivals and then attack as a well-coordinated team. The biggest problem was that some of their solo hitters were abducted by Iasul kin'toni clan.
The most significant of these kidnappings was that of Ieni kin'toni who would grow up to become an extremely powerful but, ironically, a peaceful warrior. He turned into a “zagarmatani”. “Zagarmatanis” spent most of their time playing non-violent sports like wrestling, climbing, riding, sprinting and swimming. Most of the “Zagarmatanis” were orphans or emotionally estranged turnees, who not just underprivileged, but also found it increasingly difficult to keep up with the pace of Iasul kin'toni’s clan, in the initial stage.
Their journey was beautiful bell-curve between “giving up easily” and “not knowing what it is like to give up anything”. They were kind leaders of their teams, when it came to fights, but were not inclined to lead the clan. Eventually, A “Zagarmatani” would go on to have political ambitions and become the founding father of Ieni kin'toni clan.
War strategies, and tactics:
The advantage of being great thieves and traders was that Ight’turu kin'toni clan military knew the strengths and weaknesses of all other clans. This gave them edge, but they made sure that even if they were having military conflict with a clan, somehow, they kept trading with them. This would help the Ight’turu kin'toni clan get their wars sponsored by their enemies, without the latter ever getting to know about it, an extremely efficient and deadly strategy.
Religion
Ight’turu and Ild’ome kin’toni clans knew that religion is a tool to control and manipulate masses. Most of their places of worship were used to store all the stolen resources from other clans, and Ild’ome kin’toni clan were the caretakers because they were particularly good in designing narratives required to package these loots as tributes to the triangular god. As one would expect, their religion would thrive on the concepts of gifts, as that practice played a pivotal role in feeding greed and knack to compare outcomes in the society.
The bigger the gift the greater their dedication to the triangular god. According to Ight’turu and Ild’ome kintoni clans – the concept of god was their most profitable creation. The best part of this ideology was that they could cultivate Ina’suli kin'toni clandroid as an actual clan to compete the trifecta or the holy trinity, which was an aesthetic masterpiece. Ight’turu kintoni clan had numerous festivals. just like ild’ome kintoni clan, which would help them exchange bribes and assemble the loots into safe places.
One could map easily that when there was a big ight’turu or ild’ome festival around, the crime rates would shoot up dramatically in other clans. It was impossible to imagine that ight’turu and ild’ome kin’toni clan would ever have a crisis of faith as theirs was deeply rooted in their necessary evils. Unfortunately, for Ight’turu and Ild’ome kintoni clan, their convenience was going to get challenged. Ieni kin'toni managed to get Estangaugh, Ivoro, Ineper, Elm’ess and Isskel kin'toni clans to attack all places of worship.
Ieni kin'toni didn’t provoke these clans to ransack these places, but he urged them to audit and investigate why were the scribblings hinting at the triangular god. Ina’suli kin'toni clan was deployed by Ight’turu and Ild’ome to protest these audits, without actively letting the rest of the clans know about their intentions.
Miscellany
Ight’turu and Ild’dome kin'toni clans had similar physiologies. They were weak and believed in improving only and exclusively their kinds, and especially if it is at the cost of others. For them everything had definite and perishable value. Their inner voice could be translated or interpreted as follows:
“It is important to be aware of everything and each movement of all beings that surround us. And we should apply ourselves to know everything that we can know. It is crucial to know how anything and everything that is happening around you is benefitting you, and you should do what it takes to make the most of what benefits you, even if it means exploiting it.
They kept their exploration and exploitation in a ratio of 31:69. It meant that once they had tried all comprehensible ways to understand how a particular thing worked, for a specific period, they could identify the vulnerabilities which were there to exploit and would go berserk in optimizing rewards from those specific propositions. Once they knew what they wanted, and how it was benefitting them, they did not care about how it could harm anyone else in any other context.
To make the most of a situation it was important to not be emotional or sensitive about what could be the adverse repercussions of those actions for anyone else, otherwise it hampers pursuer’s ultimate gains.” An ideology like this was great for their tribe or kingdom, but it meant that it was not unbelievably difficult for Ight’turu kin'toni and Ild’ome kin'toni clans to make enemies. However, it was their undisputable dexterity that never allowed their enemies to realise who they really were, until it was too late.
Within the tribe:
Loving, caring and forgiving within the tribe. There were no conflicts that ended with harsh judgements, instead the guilty of a particular crime – like murder or theft - was cultivated and manipulated to harm other clans. Most of their military was made up of such people and including the ones who were recruiting them. They could do it by allocation of the right personnel in situations requiring those particular skill sets based on the known attributes and characteristics.
Without the tribe:
They had an amazingly simple algorithm for interacting with members of other clans, much like Ild’ome kin'toni clan, “please them”. Every conversation or interaction that Ight’turu or Ild’ome kin'toni clan had with other clans would end up with gifts or memorabilia. It was a way to control the psychology of other clans and cleanse any kind of bad word of mouth about their brand. Ight’turu and Ild’ome kin'toni clans were very conscious of how they were perceived by the other.
