Estir Kin'toni Clan
Scattered tribe, nomadic hunters with large appetites, nasty
History
Originally occupants of a maximum security prison, when they contracted the kin’toni plague they devoured the prison guards and escaped from the compound in a highly violent manner. The military were sent to apprehend them and either bring them back or destroy them. A fierce battle ensued where all the military were slain and the tribe of Estir kin’toni were born. They soon became organised and voted that Ka'rath become their leader. A man considered to be the strongest and fiercest of them all, who had been carrying out ten life sentences for crimes of mass murder and armed robbery.
Every one of them hardened criminals with a deep seated hatred of society and a thirst for blood, they soon started causing chaos everywhere, looting, rioting and burning towns, murdering and devouring zu'aan where ever they found them, it was not long before they were listed as a public enemy number one. They did, however go to far in murdering the son of the Mayor of Hill town and there were serious repercussions. He declared war on this renegade clan and did not rest until his forces found them. A savage battle ensued and although strong and crazed, the Estir were no match for the Mayors superior strategic tactics.
They were defeated and their numbers were forced to flee. They became a scattered tribe with their people dwelling in different parts of the globe. Feeding off the weak, always moving, avoiding capture and looking for fresh blood. Even as kin'toni they would never leave the life of a convict behind. This clan live their life on the run. As they adapted to their new existence, so they started to evolve, physically changing and also developing deeper psychosis. Their senses became very keen with amazing hearing and sight so that they would always know when enemies were near.
They would always move from place to place, never staying any one spot for too long. They remained scattered as they felt safer this way. Their leader, Ka'rath kept a small group of the clan with him at all times and they would constantly move around the world, hunting, feeding and organizing the tribe. He believed that one day they would be strong enough to rise up and take over the entire world, where he would be emperor of all things. Until then they must survive. He created a clever network of spies so that the tribe could remain organised and gain power through skirmishes planned by him.
Then he organised a festival of chaos, where they could all assemble once a quarter moon and celebrate the might of their tribe. They would all speak of the different parts of the world they had been in and the tribe would gain much knowledge and also they could bond. None of the tribal members stay in the same place for very long
Biology
Pink irises with black sclerae and crescent pupils Very physically strong and muscular they have heavy handed fists and are brutes. They are however very sluggish and slow and can be outmatched in battle by faster and more skilled opponents. They do not have much intelligence. Their bodies repair very fast and often they will not feel pain. Their bodies are constantly pumped with adrenalin. They are fueled by anger and the more angry they get, the stronger they become. However they can burn out with tiredness, making it easier for more skilled opponents to outmatch them with fight skill as opposed to brute strength.
Their skin is very hard and tough and must be hacked with great force to make a cut. They can fall great heights and hardly bruise or cut themselves. A large gash will typically heal within days. The best way to destroy them is decapitation (though difficult as their skin is so hard) or by setting them alight with fire. A spear through the heart will also destroy them but with their hard skin it is difficult to be successful with this tactic during battle. Decapitations and impaling are better employed whilst they are unconscious. They cannot tolerate direct sunlight and will burn when exposed its rays.
They are very deep sleepers, due to the amount of energy they burn up each night, when they are rendered unconscious, they are TOTALLY unconscious for 12 hours. Their blood is jet black like oil. They have large internal organs, also black and have a hard rubbery texture. They are very manic, use up a lot of energy, are not very logical, impulsive and in a constant state of Adrenalin fueled anger. When they drink zu'aan blood they go into a euphoric state like they are on some kind of drug. It seems to also calm them and they become more relaxed in this time.
Often after drinking they will nap. Sleep will come upon them without warning. They are testosterone fueled, so often do not feel the full scope of the energy they are utilizing and losing and will suddenly reach their limit and fall asleep without warning. They have massive strength and endurance. They can punch through wood walls. They have a very high pain tolerance threshold. They are archetypal lumbering giants and there massive strength has the downside that they are physically and mentally slow with slow reaction times. They need to drink a lot of zu'aan blood to remain strong as their bodies are so large.
And their cell structure is constantly burning energy, they can suffer fatigue quickly if they do not have enough sustenance. Very fast metabolism.
Culture
A highly aggressive clan who have developed deep seated psychosis, paranoia and anger issues over the decades. They mistrust non clan members and are prone to extreme violence. Originally escaped convicted criminals, they are a rough, angry clan who once provoked are very dangerous. They have a huge thirst dor zu'aan blood and must feed regularly. Although the bond they have with other clan members which is very strong and they often refer to their brethren as ‘bro’ or ‘sis’ even though they are not related by blood, they are very mistrustful of non clan members.
They often get into arguments with others which usually results in violence and destruction of either fighter. They have been scattered around the world since their early beginnings and they are highly nomadic, always moving and never staying in the same place for too long, to avoid trouble. They will meet up for secret meetings within smaller segments of the group who are in closer geographical locations. Their leader Ka'rath has created an elaborate ring of spies that spreads through the nearby regions. They report back to him about what they have seen. They also act as a why in which the entire clan are able to stay in contact with each other and keep abreast of the tribes news.
Through this method Ka'rath will send word to those that he needs to. They believe that one day the tribe will start a revolution that will result in them defeating all the other tribes of the world and becoming the new rulers of the globe. They are very insular and respect their fellow tribal members, even when separated by distance. They are very loyal to each other and also to the clan. They follow THE CODE which are a set of laws invented by their leader Ka'rath and will only take actions that benefit the entire clan, and they are also bound to share their fortune and wealth with the clan.
Their culture all centres around their loyalty for one another. THE CEREMONY OF CHAOS is very important to them and is a special gathering that they all attend. This is a special time when they are altogether as a clan and one of their most important cultural occasions. During this time they will share any fortunes that have been acquired in the time preceding the gathering. They have no interest in art and literature generally and are more animalistic in their interests. Sports and combat skills are considered to be of keen interest and very beneficial for the tribe.
They enjoy physical activities such as these and are competitive with one another. During gatherings they will also have sporting events when they can compete with each other. They are competitive and all about strength, so the stronger the clans member the greater the respect the others have for them. It is also very important that they protect each other in times of trouble. They are a scattered tribe and are separated from the group for long periods of time. Their identity of themselves as a tribe are very strong however. They never forget what they part of. They trust no one but each other.
Government
Ka'rath is the leader of this clan. He is both feared and respected in equal measures by all tribes members. He is a clever tactician (in scale of the tribe as none of them have huge intelects) and ruthless. He has appointed some Generals who work close beside him. They will send commands to other tribal folk when needed and help him implement new laws and rules. Usually his commands are enforced brutally. Any who disobey will be severely punished and receive horrendous beatings. Failure is also dealt with severely and if it effects the clan in bad way, the clan member in question will be destroyed, usually by Ka'rath himself in extreme cases or his Generals in lesser cases.
Ka'rath has set up a huge network of spies who are scattered around the nearby regions and are constantly moving. These send back information to him regarding other clans and also the movements and actions of all the tribal members of their own tribe. They report to Ka'rath personally as he does not trust anyone and will only hear information second hand. He is prone to mistrust people, but he will make up an informed decision from the different sources of information that he hears. All Generals must report everything that happens regarding the tribe to him, or there are sever repercussions.
The tribe has a class system. Members who are physically stronger and more intimidating are seen as more important members of the clan and are given more opportunities to become high ranking officials. The order of power within the clan is based on the structure of a gang mentality. Ka'rath is the supreme leader with some Generals under him and they are in charge of the FOLLOWERS. THE FOLLOWERS are the ordinary members who make up the tribe. Some are considered to be more important then others and are given the opportunities to rise up in the ranks.
New Generals are appointed by Ka'rath, usually after one has been destroyed in a battle or in extreme cases when clan members have fought each other. Anyone can challenge a General for their title. When this happens they immediately fight to the destruction. Usually, only the worthy candidates will make a challenge. As Generals tend to be physically imposing and very violent in this tribe. It is very rare for anyone to challenge Ka'rath over his authority. In such cases the only outcome is a fight which will result in one being destroyed. Most are terrified of him and would not challenge him.
In the years a few challenged him and he destroyed them. Any fortune that tribal members gain must be shared with Ka'rath or he will destroy them. The tribe is like a family and Ka'rath is their supreme leader. They have no rules as such apart from making sure the tribe comes first. Every individual must have the tribes well being in their hearts.
Military
Extremely violent and highly reactionary, they are very hand son fighters. However they do understand chain of command and will do what ever they are told to do by the Generals, who in turn are ordered by Ka'rath as to what the military manoeuvres will be. Also, as they are a scattered clan, with their numbers all over the world, their military tactics relies on a heavily controlled spy network. Ka'rath spends a lot of his time sending and receiving messages back and forth from far away tribal members. Ultimately it is his goal to wage war on all the other tribes and set himself up as some kind of emperor or king.
Where their tribe will be the grand rulers over all the other tribes. They make all their own weapons and the style of weaponry they use are of course dictated by their immense physicality’s and bodily dimensions. They are huge creatures and so they tend to use large, heavy weapons such as hammers, cudgels and axes. They have big brutish swords, often curved and with spikes coming out of them, and other torturous looking structures. When they go into battle they like to use weapons that can cause as much damage as possible. They choose weight and power over skill and efficiency.
Their general tactic is to just keep hitting things until they break. Their military ranking system is very straight forward. Ka'rath is the over all leader and will make all the plans for fighting. His Generals will inform the army of what the battle tactics are. Ka'rath delivers all information about tactics to his Generals individually who then tell the members of the group they have been allocated to. Ka'rath believes in utmost secrecy and keeping the sharing of knowledge to a minimum so as to avoid any unwanted, potential security leaks.
The rest of the army are entirely infantry.
Though some are considered to be more important then others. Usually the more powerful, stronger and physical imposing militia are considered to be higher up in the pecking order. In this clan however, the higher up in the infantry you are, the more you are put into the frontline. They are excessively violent and love battling, so this is an honour for them. Ka'rath is an excellent battle strategist. He knows that there biggest strength is their unpredictability, so will create a unique battle plan every time they find them selves in a prospective war situation.
When possible he will plan in advance and by sending word out through his elaborate spy network, will recall as much of his force into one place as possible. They choose brute and brawn over higher intelligence and usually will hit the enemy very hard and fast, repeatedly. Often this tactic works but when matched with a sophisticated clan of superior intellect, they can easily be outsmarted.
Religion
They are not a spiritual clan. They are more physical. They do however believe in the bond that they have between each other and think of each other as brother and sisters, although many of them are not actual blood kin. They look to Ka'rath for leadership and guidance. They are fatalists and believe that was is destined to happen will happen and there is nothing they can do about it. Everything in the world is theirs for the taking. They do not hurt each other and do anything wrong against one another, but they believe that anyone outside the tribe is fair game.
They delight in telling each other stories of their own person exploits and in a way, this is how they offer up personal shreds of wisdom and guide one another. They have an almost spiritual manner in how they communicate with each other, although they would never admit it and this comparative softness is disguised under a mask of harshness. When they have a big gathering and all of the tribe attend, they will have many contests of sport and physical endurance. It is like a religious ceremony to them and all are completely engaged in it, showing off their physical prowess with one another.
Congratulating the victors and spurring on the losers to do better next time. K'rath delivers a big speech at the gatherings before the tribe and all listen to his every word as many would a priest in a church. He is respected and feared for his bravery, savagery and also his intelligence. As far as this tribe are concerned, his many great deeds have almost ascended into the realms of folklore. The competitions they have are also are also a way for them to better themselves as kin and often it is seen as a goal for personal development. They tribes main ethos is to grow stronger with each other.
They are philosophical but in a more brutal manner. Existence is a battle and only the strong will survive. They are anarchists and wish to bring about chaos to the world. They love madness and insanity. They feel connected with one another as a tribe, as they are the same. THE GENERALS often give guidance to the individual groups that they control. They give growth advise to individuals. This is mostly a private thing for this tribe as they wish to be perceived as hard and tough. Sometimes, when ordered by Ka'rath, the Generals will assemble their groups and deliver sermons to them.
To give them guidance on the hard times ahead when they are separated from one another, or to keep them in line when there are battles to be fought or plans in place for important tribal activities.
Family is their religion as they see it. Everyone one of them must help each other and offer advise and aid in individual growth. It is up to each individual to look after their minds and heart, and also to look after each other.
