Geography

The regions of the Coldrock Mountain include the Namavar (Summit). Generally all that is seen is snow, ice and jagged rock. Nothing hospitable here at all. Most of anything that had lived here has long gone due to the bitter conditions. This whole area on the high parts of the surface is relatively barren with the exception of a few plants here and there due to the altitude. In these parts, snow is almost a permanent fixture and white-outs are quite common. The plants here include types of mosses and low laying plants. The kin'toni of the local clan do not go here.

There is some small kinds of animals here. The next region down is the Ebau Sba (Alpine Tunda). In this region, most of the life is small bushes and stunted trees. Plants here include the She'kadu Atven (Blue leaf bush), the berries are used as a food source by the local kin'toni. There are small animals that live here. The kin'toni rarely go here, but to sometimes harvest the berries and roots of the plants that grow here. The next region down is the the Nak Aravaa (forest lands). The Nak Aravaa are the forested lands around the base of Caldar Mountain and have much life. Lathra Mountain Fores

The trees are very tall and dense with leaves in varying shades of blue. Under the trees, there is no grass, there is just a form of moss like plant that covers the ground and the trees. The Diwarale kin'toni Clan go here to hunt prey for food and furs and to cut wood to make into things for their homes and to burn to keep warm. They gather the mosses for bedding and to make bandages for wounds. Another region is the Varian Kaoian (lowland grasslands). These grasslands are very open with few trees and much long grasses and flowers. The Diwarale kin'toni Clan go here to hunt prey for food.

They arso go to gather grasses to weave mats and clothing out of. Places of note include Chaii E'Vata-tkamala (Ledge of Sun-Facing). This east facing ledge is rather large and around three thousand feet from the surface and looks over a sheer drop. This is the place where the clan chain a kin'toni to die to the sunlight for their god. Places of note underground include Tah Anah, this is a passage that leads to the Ghost Caves region of Terael . This low stone passageway was mined out many years ago and the clan did not know they broke though to the Ghost Caves until the local clan invaded.

The passage was blocked by the Diwarale kin'toni Clan in 3E 220. Both sides are well protected to stop people from the other clan mining though.

Plants

What few plants there are in the the barren wasteland of ice and snow that is called the Ebau Sba are small and rugged. Mostly moss called thai or lichen called vatro is all that will grow here. The winds, jagged rock and below zero temperatures prevent much if anything here. Thai is a type of very light blue, lightly glowing moss. The spores are spend on the winds and the plant grows slow, but can live a very long time. Some have been known to live for over 50 years. It is soft, and used to make bedding for kin'toni. It is also water absorbing and used to make bandages for kin'toni in the Diwarale Clan.

This moss is very common across the landmass as it can grow in many places. Vatro is a type of lichen that is very cold resistant. It is a very light blue to light green in color. The plant grows slow, but can live for hundreds of years. Due to the ability to grow on all kinds of surfaces and in temperatures varying from those in the freezing tundra to those in the scorching deserts, adapted relatives of vatro are very common across the world of Terael . Another type of plant is the she'kadu atven, this is a small stunted bush that has light blue leaves and a darker blue trunk.

It spreads its seeds inside large dark red berries that are eaten by some of the animals and by kin'toni. It is a very slow grower, but can live a long time like most of the plants in this region. In the forests of Nak Aravaa the ground is mostly covered with vatro moss, but there are some bushes and grasses growing in places. The trees that live in this part of the region are called yatvar ensay. These tall trees have long trucks with branches in a cone shape. The leaves are dark blue with a blue-grey trunk and white sap. The trees can grow to thirty feet tall and have ten feed canopy spans.

The trees are cut for wood by the Diwarale kin'toni Clan to make things for their homes and the dead, fallen branches are used for firewood to keep warm in the bitter cold. Inside the caves you find all sorts of rare specimens. Glowing mushrooms, moss, lichen, various fungi litter the caves. The interesting fungi include a white form called taua varek (sweet fungi). It is called that as it is sweet and good to eat and is a food staple of the kin'toni and animals. The glowing mushrooms are called viatren varek (glowing fungi). They are often used for lighting and to make glowing body paint.

As you explore deeper inside some of the caves are actually quite hospitable complete with almost a rain forest of sorts. Many plants here have yet to be found let alone named.

Animals

Animals of the region include the varha, a small being around a foot long and weighting a pounds, that has long fur, they are usually white for camouflage. It eats the mosses and berries of the she'kadu atven bush. They are known to eat the sap of the yatvar ensay trees too. They have many young at a time by live birth and they grow up fast. They live in large family groups in burrows under the ground. They do not live very long, only around five years at the most. They are prey for most of the meat eating animals of this region. The kin'toni of the Diwarale Clan hunt them for food in the lean times of the region's winter.

Another animal is the rakvar, this is a animal around three feet long and weighting around six pounds. It eats the bark, leaves and sap of the yatvar ensay tree and sometimes that of the she'kadu atven bush. The females go into heat four times a year and pregnancies are three mouths long. It has two or three young at a time by live birth and lives in small family grounds in a burrow under the ground or between rocks. The young take around a year to be able to care for themselves, two years to adulthood and can live to around ten years. They are hunted for food and furs by the Diwarale Clan.

Another animal is the Enrik, a large white furred animal that around nine feet long and weighs around thirty pounds. It is is slender and graceful in build with long limbs and long claws on its paws. It eats only meat and its most hunted prey are the rakvar, but in lean times it will go after the smaller varha. It has one to three young at a time by live birth with pregnancies that are six mouths long. The young take one year to be able to care for themselves and three years to grow to adulthood. They can live for over fifteen years. The kin'toni in this region fear them and have sometimes killed them for fur.

Inside the caves, some of which have yet to be explored however represent a totally different world. One of the life forms is the cave worm. This fat and sluggish worm is around three feet long and weighting around ten pounds. It has white, translucent skin and no eyes as they are useless in the dark of the caves. Cave worms eat the fungi of the caves and move slowly to save energy. Cave worms are blind, but have a very large sensitivity to vibrations. The skin is worn by kin'toni of the Neluskskel Clan and they are worshipped by the Minemi Clan and by the Ah'Nartha cult.
