History

The history of the Agev Tribal Zu'aan begins within tales that date back to before the year of 4E 358, where a group of nomadic zu'aan, that was composed of a loose collection of outcasts from other tribes, along with a couple of more organized members found themselves slowly walking on the back of ardutias, which re desert-adapted mammals known for their humps, which store fat to help them survive long periods without food or water, for decades on end, searching all around the Sienver Barren Lands for opportunities of a bountiful place to live.

Or perhaps simply a proper settlement which allowed them to live properly. This onslaught of search kept going for years on end, until it was finally settled around the year of 4E 92, when the legendary founder known as Zhia Agev, during his scouting hours, discouvered a thriving kin'toni outpost in one of the areas east of the center of the Sienver Barren Lands, standing tall right behind a jagged ridge; this made the tribe begin to observe this kin'toni clan slowly, often taking turns in scouting from far away to see how developed that clan was.

With months on end of scouting, the members of the Agev saw that the kin'toni clan was extremely self-sustainable, investing most of their resources into proper living infrastructure, food, and water, which allowed them to thrive in the extremely harsh conditions of the desert, having fully built walls, irrigation systems, and even systems for storing supplies; this made it so the Agev started to plan their next move, something which was also complemented by observing a short-sighted decision of that one kin'toni clan.

Which was how little they invested into their military due to the fact they relied on their isolation to guarantee their proper well-being. In the year of 4E 360, on the anniversary of Zhia's discovery, the now fully formed Agev armed forces, which were encompassed by every able member the tribe had, raided the kin'toni clan at night and absolutely massacred a huge quantity of the clan and their members; though, this destruction wasn't the same to either supplies or infrastructure, which were kept completely safe.

With some members of the Agev even being punished when they burnt down the houses of the kin'toni as a strategy to kill them before they could properly react. The kin'toni were over the next days fully deleted and replaced, all due to Zhia's strategic manner of killing without asking for permission to fight; this, of course, left the entire outpost in a chaotic state, considering it just went through a brutal dispute full of slaughter and immoral actions which parted from both sides.

Though, the good news for the Agev was that this settlement was now fully theirs, considering that the previous residents were now buried deep below what was once their own home. The years after the aftermath were followed by time that the Agev used to adapt to the infrastructure of the kin'toni itself, as a grand movement for sanitizing took place, where many of the specific developments of the kin'toni were slowly replaced by those of the Agev, allowing them to build what now became their tribe.

Psychology

The psychology of the Agev tribal zu'aan defines itself within a deep sense of rooted paranoia which is originated from the very roots they have established within their origin myth, which makes it so they, unlike many of the other tribes that built themselves their own settlements from the ground up, develop their own internal and subjective terms in how to observe the landscape which exists around them; this allows for their rugged sense of confidence to sort of mask over all of the hyper-vigilance the tribe needs not only to survive.

But to keep its own fears satiated, basically acknowledging how easily they could be overtaken, just as they themselves overtook the kin'toni settlement. The psyche of the average member of the Agev tribal zu'aan often requires a heightened sense of constant scanning, basically making it so the members of the tribe always keep their eyes open at night, never turning their back on any individual or thing which can be a threat, which makes them psychologically wired to be incapable of ignoring any strange noise.

This has further developed into a very constant notion of insomnia within many of the members of the tribe. This makes it so the members of the tribe also develop many things such as peripheral vision, almost as if each of them has the psyche of a sharp assassin, though at the cost of normalizing the environment they live in as a battlefield. Furthermore, the tribe is also extremely prideful in their own tribe, something boosted by the fact they fully massacred an entire kin'toni clan as a simple means to acquire territory.

Something which can be seen as nearly impossible; this makes it so the tribe members view themselves as proper apex predators of those barren lands and of the zu'aan in general, which manifests itself into a boisterous and extremely arrogant style of personality. This also correlates to how many of the tribe attempt to harden their outside look into an almost emotionless and constantly strong member of society, which also creates a deep difficulty in their social relations due to how much things such as opening up are looked down upon.

Which makes it so something such as thoughtfulness is very rare within the members of the tribe.Since most of the origins of the tribe are still pressing the key of being fully shaped around the massacre the older tribe members were able to develop, the moral code of the Agev is extremely flexible in its nature, especially in its treatment of outsiders, be them zu'aan or kin'toni clans. This makes it so things such as killing or sometimes even torture of any members that come from outside of the tribe is seen as something natural and oftentimes is treated as necessary as well.

While this isolates them from the world and definitely doesn't make them feel better around their paranoia, it strengthens the camaraderie amongst the tribe members.

Culture

The culture as it was developed within the Agev tribal Zu'aan creates and allows for the maintenance of an extremely rugged blend of the consequences of the stolen luxury the tribe took from the kin'toni with the necessity of rough and ruthless perceptions of the outside, and, therefore, rough treatment and strict manners of structuring borders and frontiers; their lifestyle is still heavily occupational within their aesthetic manner, which basically makes it so they take many of the traits of the old kin'toni clan and combo it with many of their own dust, leather, and the strong bravado they brought from coursing across the desert.

Much of their core and primary customs revolves around the social life of the Agev and their relationship with what can only be considered their comrades, the Ardutia, those humped desert mammals that aren't just pets for them, instead representing a strong status symbol especially in terms of ancestry, seen as many of the older members responsible for the conquest of the settlement where they now live came through really harsh weather to reach and conquer their tribe's living space atop of these mammals.

Not only that, we see that, within the culture of the Agev, the mastery a tribe member may have over their steed is deeply valued as not only an important skill but a historical artifact which recalls the times the tribe is extremely prideful of; this is proven by the huge events the tribe holds for Ardutia racing, navigating all across tracks within the Sienver Barren Lands. Furthermore, their culturally established social metrics revolve many times around the psyche of the tribe members, which, to put it simply, is extremely hyper-vigilant and holds itself with extremely inflated pride.

Which has led to situations where conflict solving is rarely done with words or kind mannerisms. Instead, duels are still very much naturalized within the Agev tribal zu'aan, being treated as a fair cultural ritual; while not all of them are lethal, many times adhering to paint darts, blunt practices, or regulations to only hit non-lethal parts, but, oftentimes, the members of the duel do hold one until the death, which is something justified within the tribe as both a way to settle ego-driven arguments and also a way to ensure that every member of the tribe is at their peak, sort of treating those who die in duels as inferior.

Another important thing of the cultural scope of the Agev tribal Zu'aan is seen within their extremely unique-styled aesthetics, which allow for a striking contrast between all of the leftover settlements and customs from the kin'toni clan the tribe has massacred along with the style which the settlers had brought with them. This is often seen with things such as heavy, sun-treated leathers that are done as a way to protect against the conditions promoted by the desert sands; though, all of this is thoroughly complemented with polished metals.

All across from accolades up until the structures utilized in much of the housing units.

Government

The government form of the Agev tribal zu'aan attempts to establish and justify itself under the name of a militant meritocracy, which attempts to create social relations that are justified under the name of individual achievement of progress, while negating much of other tribes' notions around divine rights or even social contracts; instead, attempting to shape their political structure into something that attempts to ensure that the current leader of the tribe has achieved such a position after proving, utilizing their own individual method, that they contain the best skills in terms of defending their outpost.

The ultimate authority which is held with the highest position of political power within the tribe is properly named Sheriff, which operates as though they were chosen to remain with the executive branch of a classic government form. Unlike many tribes which attribute the highest authority to members within a hereditary cycle or lifetime matters of appointment, the role of the Sheriff within the Agev tribal zu'aan is something fully changeable at any point in their history, simply being the title given to the current member of the tribe that is proven to be the most capable one of maintaining the order of the civilization the Agev had come to develop.

Along with guaranteeing both public safety and border safety from outside threats, thus, both internal and external defense. Though, their position is quite precarious and inconsistent, since if they ever fail to protect a certain amount of resources, they are often brought out and challenged into a cultural duel to the death, where the previous leader is replaced with the victor of this fight if they were to lose. Sometimes, in more critical situations, power vacuums are easily created within the tribe.

Since duels and leader changing take place more often and more inconsistently, without giving time for any of those now-dead leaders to display their potential leadership. The council which is responsible for regulating and coming up with the laws that the Agev tribal members are supposed to follow are members of the Agev Council, which is often located within public spaces for debates such as in communal saloons, where positions can be placed, challenged, and put under the hand of democratic discussion as a means to guarantee that the leaders were following the needs of the population.

These politicians, who are formally treated as masters of the stables, or perhaps regulators of the lead that shapes much of the tribe, are often the heads of the most influential families within the tribe, oftentimes those which were able to guarantee themselves a position of economic and, clearly, political power by "arriving here first," which in Agev terms means being part of the groups which first attacked their outpost when it was inhabited by a kin'toni clan. These elites are also responsible for holding onto a bunch of livestock.

Owning a huge majority of the ardutias that the tribe has a right to have, and also having some of the most developed weaponry, guaranteeing their self-defense, and some of the oldest weaponry, to guarantee the control of the historical memory of the tribe.

Religion

The religion of the Agev tribal Zu'aan is a belief system that follows extremely pragmatic standards and practices of faith, one which sanctifies many notions but mainly the notion that defends the Agev's right to take, which is something deeply rooted in the tribe's very origin and how they overtook an already established outpost. This theology also views the harsh and horrid environment of the Sienver Barren Lands as a testing ground that the sinners of Taerel must traverse to be able to fully understand the truth about existence itself.

It is a testing ground that, thus, filters out the weak zu'aan who aren't able to deal with such a harsh and ruthless reality. The Gods to whom the Agev tribal zu'aan pray aren't humanized or treated as though a reflection of the species of Zu'aan which occupy Taerel; their divine figures are seen as cosmic forces which embody the deadly and unmerciful nature of the Barren Lands around them. This makes it so the most religious members of the tribe see the universe as a sort of expression of nothing but mere leftovers.

Where nothing is truly held by an individual, and where things such as homes or living spaces are not owned by anyone or any group, it simply circles around as the zu'aan's naive sociability makes it so they naturally defend it. These notions are, obviously, used as means to justify their ideology which treats the kin'toni massacre as something not only historically heroic but also divinely right, which let the Agev acquire the proper right to seize the outpost. Within the Agev's theological culture, we observe that the weapon of choice of every individual is also held up as a fair icon which represents the tribe's faith.

Since the zu'aan soul is often strongly tied to their very ability to provide for those in need and protect themselves from all of the ills which may attempt to challenge their existence. This mystification of weaponry is also extended into the rituals of the tribe, which often involve open displays of blades and even of distinct ammo within religious places; sometimes they're even dipped in Ardutia waste as a means to allow for more blessed accuracy. All of this even extends itself to the battlefield, where casualties are seen not only as misfires or mechanical failures but as proof of spiritual discord within the tribe.

Though the members of the Agev religion believe they earned the right to occupy their current settlement through divine decisions, they still have religious sectors and subdivisions which describe such phenomena as the necessary means to classify their home as a stolen one which, over the passing of the years, is a perspective that is reobserved into a reason for the Agev to keep their faith consistent and strong, making it so they have to earn the right to keep living where they do on a cyclical basis.

Something which is often done by the exploration of the past, which makes it so the members of the Agev often take a liking to practices such as archaeology, archivology, and history.
