Extremely violent, warrior clan

History

Originally farmers, this clan became very twisted when they contracted the kin’toni plague and developed extreme angry tendencies. Always physically strong and well built before the kin’toni came upon them they lay waste to several towns feasting on zu’aan blood in plentiful supplies. Good with their hands they realised that soon they may have to defend themselves from militia and so they set about the business of building a gigantic fortress that rose high into the sky. They made it in such a way that the walls were hard to penetrate. Inside they built a selection of sub dwellings, like small ring forts with dwellings inside for them to sleep. They scattered themselves into smaller groups within the large fort.

And elected who they deemed to be worthy chieftains to control each of these groups. From time to time they would travel outside of this fortress in search of more zu’aan. They would bring back what ever they found to the fortress and share it with the others. They taught them self war and invasion tactics as the decades past. Not a very big clan they found that they had to rely on being intimidating and developed ways to be more scary to anyone who might come upon their path, or they upon theirs. They would often embark upon invasions and sometimes would travel quite a distance to find the spoils they were looking for.

They also realised that the further they travelled from their fort, the less likely it would be attacked by any zu’aan seeking vengeance. They tended to attack and kill large numbers in one go when possible and bring the corpses back to their lair and share amongst the tribe. Some of them naturally started to make weapons and others would create furniture and clothing. They all had unique crafts skills, still with them since their simple farming days and they kept these skills alive as they knew it was important for the clan. Over the years they have built onto their fortress.

Making it as strong as possible, always paranoid that one day a large force may come and try to invade them. Although ferocious, they have been involved in some battles with opponents far more intelligent then them and have lost. They have learned from this and tend to seek out weaker opponents. They believe that one day a massive war will happen in the world and they want to be ready for it. They have invaded many tribal camps over the years and have gained a reputation for being a troublesome clan. They are also unpredictable and it is uncertain where they may strike next.

Their have been a few battles they have fought where they have gone against weaker opponents but instead of destroying them have agreed to take raw materials as a peace offering. Some of their battles with larger, more well prepared clans with better strategists have not gone so well and their forces have been repelled. They put attribute this to ill luck and bad weather.

Psychology

This clan are not very intelligent and they are very angry and physical. They feel that they have been cursed for some reason beyond their control but they have given into it completely, murdering and attacking where they can, almost as if they are railing against the world itself and getting retribution for the wrongs they believe have been done to them by this curse placed on them. They have learned that as they are not skilled in battle as some other tribes are that one of their best weapons is psychological warfare so when they attack they often cover their faces in fake blood and run into battle screaming.

This tactic is supposed to create complete and uncontrollable fear into the minds and hearts of their enemies. They are a very proud people and will never admit the insecurities they have about their own intelligence and effectiveness of their clan. They mask this by creating an image of testosterone fueled animals, when they are in fact constantly frightened and paranoid for the future of their clan. They are also highly volatile and have deep seated anger issues. They often fight among themselves. In some ways they may be their own worst enemies. They have neurons inside their heads which are miss-sparking constantly causing them to have incredibly manic personalities.

They are completely insane, have massive anger issues, suffer from depression and have psychotic tendencies. They often have disputes with one another. They are irrational and short fused. Very volatile and high octane personalities. They often lose awareness and black out, with no knowledge of time and place or who they are even. At this time they are very confused and angry. They are likely to do anything. This is when they are at their most volatile and are highly dangerous. They have a great love for their fellow tribe members and will do anything for the greater good of each other and the clan.

They see themselves as one large family made up of brothers and sisters. They are a tribe of great juxtapositions. They are highly manic and can go from happy to psychotic angry without any warning what so ever. To them their fort is everything and everything revolves around this. They will do anything to protect this and are immensely paranoid that enemies may attack any time. They even some times get so paranoid and edgy that they think other clan members may actually be spies and might bring about the tribes downfall if left unchecked. Often their paranoia can result in terrible fights breaking out between them.

They trust no one, sometimes not even themselves

Biology

Light Purple irises with black sclerae and a vertical slit pupils. From their previous existence as farmers these creatures are very muscular beings and are fuelled by testosterone, so they have a very manic and angry energy, which can make them impulsive and rash. They have very strong and rough hands and often do not know their own strength and accidently break or crush things. They display very heavy breathing and have very deep and booming voices. They are slow and lumbering brutish creatures with very slow reflexes. They also have a slower recovery time when wounde.

However they have an incredibly high tolerance for pain and often will not feel it when they are in mortal danger due to an excessive wound that may be even very close to destroying them. They have black blood and it is thick like oil. Their entire system is incredibly volatile and almost in a never ending cycle of chaos. Although they have high physical performance they do not have much stamina and can get tired very easily. When they enter violent confrontation they lose all sense of reality and can have visions. During this period they are both dangerous to others and also to themselves.

They can be destroyed by decapitations, impalings through their heart and being set fire to. Direct exposure to sunlight will destroy them instantly. Their brains often shit down whilst they are going about physical tasks and they black out, having no realisation of where they are or what they are doing. In the build up to this moment they become very stupid and will often make a series of very bad choices. Neurological impulses are sent down through their spine and they can often physically lash out at anything in their way for no reason. They have an insatiable hunger for zu’aan blood and must feed regularly.

If they do not they become weak and highly irritable. They will even fight with each at this point. Sometimes they start to have hallucinations and will attempt to devour their fellow clans members. They do not have much stamina and are are very stupid. Their muscular form is incredibly heavy and they move very slowly. They do not have very good eye sight or hearing.

Culture

They love fighting, physical endurance and all things to do with their bodies. Some of their old farming traits still survive. They love building things of physical value and are heavily into sports. Sports are widely practiced and encouraged . Sports involving weapons training and developing combat skills are their favourites. This included spear and stone throwing, building and testing physical strength through wrestling , fist fighting, and stone lifting. They also practice mountain climbing as a sport. Agility and balance are built and tested by running and jumping for sport.

This clan believe that the weak should be destroyed as they are no use to the rest of the clan and they will leave the injured behind on the battlefield without a second thought. They have no interest in written down literature but they do enjoy telling stories and singing songs to one another. This will usually happen late into the night and not long before dawn. They like to feast and celebrate their victories of the day. Although they are a vile and nasty clan they have great respect for each other and other and are a closely nit community. They will do anything to protect the clan.

Their tribe has a class structure and some are more important then others. However they often ascend the ladder of the class system through a process of violent challenged which result in fierce duels. They enjoy and respect the sharing of skills and delight in using their craft to create structural things to benefit the clan such as furniture, housing, clothing and weaponry. They are very simple in their thoughts and opinions about things. That which feeds and keeps them warm is important. Anything else is of no importance. They see themselves as one giant family and they are tied by blood.

Anything outside of the clan is a threat. They look to the Emperor of the clan for guidance in all things and will do as he says without asking. They have no goals other then feeding. They enjoy the thrill of battle and the hunt together and are incredibly violent in nature. Those who have killed many and been victorious in multiple battles are greatly respected in their society. Many of this tribe are given titles and rankings depending on great deeds that they have done. Usually when they have brought back large amounts of healthy blood from raids or repelled invading tribes, although the later are few and far between.

The structure of the clan is consequently always changing as the social structure changes with different movement of the titled within its structure. The punishment of criminals within the tribe is seen as a form of entertainment and they will often clap and cheer during duels, shouting out for blood to be let. Their culture is based on a mixture of violence, old traditions and craftsmanship of the hands. They are a very physical tribe.

Government

No Central Government: The Ytal do not have a central government. Instead they are split into smaller groups who stick to themselves. Each of these small groups within the clan is led by a chief. Their government, although not centrally organized, is well organized. Law and democracy are at the root of everything and punishable by immediate destruction. Each chief is assisted by a council. But the chief and council can only guide and a meeting must be had between all members of that clan. Although the chief is in control of the meeting, the clan members vote.

Their vote is final. They can vote on laws create new laws. They decide who owned a piece of land or what punishment someone would receive if they were found guilty of breaking the law. All could have their say at this time and the chieftains preside over these hearings to make sure all voices are heard. After everyone was heard, all will vote and through this way it is decided what the outcome of a disagreement or a trial. If there are ever any major disagreements it is considered acceptable to have a duel. There are no law books. Laws were not written down ever by this clan.

Instead, one person in each group is assigned the job of memorizing all the laws of that community. He is called the law-speaker. Any who disagree can be destroyed by the chieftains. The punishment for a violent crime was typically to declare that person an outlaw. Outlaws were rejected by their village and had to flee into the woods and hide, or leave the area entirely and live in the wilderness, because anyone was allowed to hunt down an outlaw and kill them. THE EMPEROR is in charge of the whole clan and will impose rules on the individual chieftains, telling them how to govern the clan.

If they do not do as they are told the Emperor may destroy them, usually by fighting them first publicly and giving them such a beating as they are embarrassed in front of the rest of the tribe. This is considered by this clan to be a terrible punishment as they are a very proud folk. High ranking chieftains may challenge THE EMPEROR for his position. This will then result in a battle to the destruction which will take place before the whole clan. There is no turning back and once the duel has begun it will only end when one has been destroyed. There have only been a few cases of this over the years.

As THE EMPEROR is gravely feared due to the fact that he destroyed the previous challengers in the most violent and unspeakable manner. Their rules are upheld in the same way they fight, by using psychological tactics and causing extreme fear, so that none dare oppose the ruler. Sometimes THE EMPEROR will decide to appoint new chieftains as additions to existing ones and will arrange a championship of sports. Games will include sword fighting, axe throwing, mountain climbing and wrestling. The winners will then be given the opportunity to compete for the title of chieftain.

This comes in the form of a grudge match to the destruction and has been known to last all night long. The loser will be destroyed. Who ever is left will be ordained as a new chieftain. THE EMPEROR has realised that the tribe need to see and experience violence in many different forms in order to stay loyal to him. He is very cunning and sneaky. This is the only way to stay in command in this clan as they are all insane and power hungry and could attempt to usurp him at any time.

Military

This tribe loves spears and use them frequently. They are long and thick and brutal looking with immense and large tips. They also favour smaller swords, which they would often name. the more ornate the sword, the higher the warriors standing in the tribe. Sometimes chieftains would gift ornate swords to lower warriors who had shown great bravery and battle prowess. They are not a very organised or intelligent tribe when it came to war and dispenses with anything remotely like strategy. Instead they opted for brute force and attacking the enemy as hard as possible.

They would fire arrows from bows at them, send in the spears to decimate as much of the enemy force as possible. Then they would attack with sword and axe. Often they would fight so violently that even their own number might be injured by them in the ferocity of their attack. Also they would attack the enemy with such a display of insanity and with such great noise that they would make them very afraid that they would not be as focused. They used psychological warfare a lot. Being a small tribe this was very important for any victory. Very reckless fighters. They did not see the point in having Generals as their fighting style was so insane and chaotic.

That they never knew how a battle would go until they were in it, let alone try to organised something in an intelligent manner. Before a battle their leaders would describe how they thought the battle may go. The warriors would debate about how they thought it should be done. Often, when it came to the battle, the individual fighters would do what ever they liked. Their battling tactics were pure chaos. A highly dangerous and volatile tribe. They believe that many a battle is actually finished before the war even starts. The war of the mind, as they call it.

When they march into any fight they scream and yell at the enemy and look like rabid wild animals. Their main tactic is to petrify their opponents so that they are routed with fear and then have difficulties reacting to the combat in an effective manner. They like to keep the heads of their enemies as trophies. They are very territorial and have a strong system of military scouting that spans for at least twenty miles. They want to know at all times if any potential invaders are anywhere near their fort so they are ready to arm their defences and obliterate the enemy.

They also like to scout any enemy outposts that they intend to attack so that they know exactly what they are up against and what sort of terrain they will have to fight on. They like to remove all surprise or confusion from any prospective battle and believe in preparation being key to victory, especially when their fighting style is so chaotic. They count their many victories and have turned them into songs which they sing often after battles. They have songs of very ferocious battles they won and they sing these as they march into battle.

Religion

They are more physical in nature then spiritual, though they believe in the power of luck and energies. They think that when their energies are good they bring great fortunes upon their tribe and when their energies are bad it can have disastrous consequences, so it is there individual task to make sure that their individual luck is always at an optimum and that they all work together to raise the vibration energy levels of the entire clan. Some of the chieftains have been elected as TALKERS and these peoples task is to look after the tribal individuals well being and thus ensure that the energy and luck level is at an optimum.

They will often tell made up stories to clan member who they feel are in a negative space and also relate tales that have a strong message within them and designed to educate the clans folk in ways of which they can be more productive. But these tales are told in a fantastical way and often are very violent. THE TALKERS will often present themselves to clan members individually and this will be done in a more entertaining fashion rather then like that of the role of a classic priest. With this clan religion is disguised as stories and light entertainment. If the energy of the individual is strong then the clan will be strong.

This is how they spend their existence. They do their best to enhance the clan at all times. It is thought of as honorable to be destroyed in battle for the greater good of the clan. To this clan, weaponry has a certain energy and is a symbol of everything that is great in their spirits. They give their energy for the clan. The blood belongs to the entire tribe and iron in their swords unify them. They see battle as a ritual that brings them all together. When they march into battle it is like a religious experience for them, they go into a trance and they feel at one with everything. They don’t care whether they live or die.

This moment of battle is the deciding factor for their entire clan. War is an art and the greatest expression of all. In their religion there is nothing more noble. They invite destruction and believe that if that is what is fated for them to happen then that is what must be done. They believe that their existence is in the hands of the clan. If the great energy of the clan fates that they any individual is destroyed in battle then it must have been for the greater good of them all. They do not trust priests or organised religion and see them as a huge threat. Even during war time they will destroy the enemies priests first.

They do this because they see the other clans power is there. But also they are afraid these priests may use their cunning against their clan and destroy them. They are highly suspicious of religion. They are very superstitious and are always referring to mundane things as omens and portents.
