History

The Kelet clan was a clan that few wanted to mess with. They were extremely aggressive, and they would take every chance that they got to go and fight other clans. The members of the clan had always gone out of their way to ensure that they would win every battle that they went into, and in doing so, they would make sure to go when the other clans weren’t expecting a fight. Armed to the teeth, the Kelet kin’toni clan would take every member of their military that was ready and able, and they would storm the clans that surrounded them.

This would cause a sense of fear in the other clans as they would wonder if they would be next, or if they were safe from harm. Many of the other clans knew that they didn’t want to fight and risk losing their members if they didn’t have to, so they would surrender and hand their allegiance over to the Kelet clan. Eventually the Kelet clan ruled many of the clans that surrounded them, and this made them happy. They would use these other clans to do their dirty work so that they could reap the benefit, and they knew that none of the clans would retaliate no matter how bad their tasks were.

Eventually, there was a huge commotion within the Kelet clan as a leader had decided to appoint themselves, and this had some as a huge surprise to the rest of the clan. The leader named herself as Taylek, and she had decided that she would lead the clan as no one else had stepped up to the plate. As she conducted her reign of terror, she would always take it upon herself to be front and center for all the raids that they would conduct, and she would always have to make sure that she was the one to get the last kills before they won any battles.

If another member was to take the last kill before Taylek completed it, she would not hesitate to kill that member of the clan in front of everyone else so that she could use their death as a warning not to cross her or to get on her bad side. As time passed and Taylek grew older, she knew that she would have to appoint a successor to her leadership so that they would be able to carry on the legacy that Taylek had created. She had decided that she would go out and find the right kin’toni to take over her role when she inevitably passed away.

What she didn’t expect to see coming was the clans that they had enslaved had decided that they would revolt again Taylek and the Kelet clan, causing an uprising of thousands of kin’toni against Taylek and her clan. While she had grown old, she was still more than able to fight, although eventually after years of constant battles, she was slain, and the Kelet clan was left in ruins.

Psychology

The members of the Kelet kin’toni clan were arrogant. They believed that they were better than everyone else, and that they should be the ones to rule over the other kin’toni. Because of this, they had spent years enslaving many clans by force so that they could have the most kin’toni to go around and do their bidding. As all the fighting was going on, there was on kin’toni within the Kelet clan that saw an opportunity and she took it. Taylek noticed that there was no one leading the clan, and while they were doing well for themselves, she believed that there needed to be a clear leader there.

In taking the reigns, she had caused a large commotion within the clan. Many had tried to revolt and kill her, but she had spent many years training in secret so she could fight solo against multiple enemies. Taylek knew how to defend herself, and that was the reason that she was able to lead the Kelet clan for so many years. While her title was not something that she ever wanted to give up, Taylek knew that eventually she would have to, and that she would have to find someone else to lead after she had passed on. She was firm in her belief that she would never hand over her reigns before she passed away as she wouldn’t be able to handle watching anyone lead while she wouldn’t have the power to stop them if they were doing something that she didn’t like.

Initially, Taylek had planned that she was going to silently pick her successor, and then she was going to keep that information hidden until she was on her death bed, before finally revealing it to her clan. She knew that if she was to announce that she was looking for someone to lead after her that it would cause all of members to do what they could to impress her, and that was not what she wanted. She intended to find who she wanted in secret so that the kin’toni that she chose to lead after her would already have a natural will to lead.

As Taylek was looking for her successor, there was a retaliation that broke out and she was slain. This was before she had been able to choose someone to take the reigns of leading the clan, and it caused the clan to panic as they had gotten used to having a leader. Because of this, the members of the clan had tried to default back to their previous ways, not wanting to not have no direction, but even then, they had found that they didn’t like their ways the same, especially after the other clans had left their leadership. They had gone back to being a more medium sized clan, and while they were never being attacked, nothing felt the same to them, so they had decided instead to just try and live their lives as a more regular clan until they could find a new leader.

Biology

Biologically, the Kelet clan was built for fighting. Many of them had and would continue to train daily as this would keep them in top shape to continue to fight other clans into submission. It didn’t matter if the members of the clan were male or female, they were held to the same training standards so that they could kill any other kin’toni that got in their way.

Looking at the Kelet clan, you would be able to easily identify them. Each member had white, blonde hair that was kept pulled back into braids or other hairstyles that made it easier for them to keep it out of their faces. Along with their hair, the Kelet clan brandished white irises with a black dot within them that looked as though they had a second pupil. This was how they were able to see attacks coming so quickly as they could control this black dot and move it around their iris to give them a second line of sight into the battle that they were fighting.

Having the extra eyesight made it so that everything looked slowed down to the members of the Kelet clan, and in doing so gave them a decided advantage over their enemies. It took the members of the clan a long time to be able to master their extra vision as without mastering it, they were more prone to dizziness and being off balance. It took them years to be able to properly move these second pupils around within their irises so that they could see more while they were battling, and many of the kin’toni within the clan had been slain because they weren’t able to focus on fighting and moving their secondary pupils around.

Taylek herself had mastered her pupil movements so that she would be able to battle more than one other kin’toni at a time, and in doing so, she had created a reputation for herself that showed other members of the clan that with the right amount of training and dedication, that they would be able to master their bodies as well. On top of their hair and eye colors, the Kelet clan had another advantage that set them apart from other kin’toni. They had the advantage of height, and it was not only because they were naturally taller than other kin’toni.

While that was helpful, the Kelet kin’toni clan also enhanced their height in their armour so that they could appear so much taller than other kin’toni clans in hopes that in doing so they would intimidate the other clans and make the second guess their decision to battle. This height difference was no more than a foot of difference with their armour on, but to some of the clans that were naturally shorter, this was more then enough to have them throwing in the towel since they knew that they would never win. This height gave the Kelet clan more confidence as they went into battle and so they would end up winning most of the battles that they would enter into.

Culture

Culturally, the Kelet kin’toni clan were deprived. They had many things that they would do together, such as going on their raids together as well as eating together. When they were out on their raids, they would all make sure that they would be sitting together when they were eating their meals. While they were eating, they would talk about their plans for the raid, or they would make jokes with each other, always ensuring that they were having a good time together. When it came time to go to sleep when they were out on their raids, they would bunk together in their tents, wanting to keep warm in doing so.

The biggest tent was reserved for Taylek and anyone that she decided that she wanted to have sleep in her tent with her. Usually, she would take as many fighters as she could, wanting to keep them safe as well as ensure that there would be more than enough kin’toni in the way of the door if there was ever a raid on their tents. She would do what she could to make sure that she kept herself safe and that would mean having her clan mates killed if it would keep her safe. Aside from them going on raids, the Kelet clan were a very independent clan.

They would do whatever they wanted throughout the day, as they wanted nothing to do with anyone else unless they were going out to fight or they were training with each other. When they were training, they would spend the time together that they needed to, and then they would go their separate ways as they didn’t want to spend more time together than they truly had to. The only kin’toni from their clan that would always have someone else around was Taylek. She didn’t want to be alone as she believed as ruler, members of the clan should be fighting over being by her side, especially when there was always something new to learn where she was involved.

She would take her faithful minions with her when she went anywhere, and she would expect them to keep guard over her so that nothing happened to her. While many members of the Kelet clan were more than happy to accompany her wherever she went, there were still many that believed that she should not be leading them, and so they would make sure that they would stay away and not interact with her as much as Taylek herself would’ve liked. As well, it could be clearly seen in the way they had built their homes that they weren’t an overtly social clan.

With their houses scattered around Wyrra Taiga Hills, the distance between them leant to the fact that the clan would much rather spend their time on their own then socializing with other members of the clan.

Government

Since before Taylek had declared herself the ruler of the Kelet kin’toni clan, there had always been a way that the members of the clan would conduct themselves. Even without a named leader they knew what they were supposed to be doing, and how they were supposed to do it. There were laws in place for when they would go out on raids, and these were in place to keep them safe and to ensure that they were able to follow through with their plans. When they would make their plans to go out and slaughter other clans, it would be after they made sure that the clan was vulnerable.

This would ensure that they would have the upper hand, and that the other clan would be blindsided with the attack. The Kelet clan would plan their raids over the course of a week, sending some of their members to go and scope out the clan so that they could figure out their routines, and they would know when the best time to attack was. As the other members were watching the clan that they planned to attack, the rest of the clan was working out their plans for attack, and who would be at the front leading it. Usually, there would be a few good strong fighters in the front that would serve to intimidate the clan, followed by the rest of them.

They would circle the clan as best they could, and they would have a couple of their fighters tell them to surrender or die. This worked for them most of the time, although there would be times that the other clans would fight back, and they would end up having a long fight. Sometimes, the Kelet clan would end up killing the clan that they had raided as they would refuse to follow in their ways and would rather die. Once Taylek took hold of the reigns of the clan, she kept many of the same laws in place that had been there since the beginning, but she changed others for her own benefit.

She made it so that she was the deciding factor in anything, so if there was ever a time that the members of the clan were unsure about something, then Taylek would have to get involved. After the other clans had revolted on Taylek in her old age and had slaughtered her, they made a point to leave the Kelet clan so that they wouldn’t have to follow their order anymore, and it left the clan with next to nothing. Once everyone had left them, the clan had no choice but to go back to how they had been before and start their clan once again.

They had to rebuild their army as most of it had been members of the other clans that they had used. As well, they had to try and build new partnerships with other clans, in hopes that they didn’t get turned down because of their reputation.

Military

Both before the reign of Taylek, and during, there had been a significant army used by the Kelet clan. As they had raided their first clans, they had used their own clan members as that was all they could do. Eventually, as they enslaved more clans, they decided that they would use members from other clans so that they could do other things back at their village. When they were building their army, they would only take the strongest and most skilled members of the other clans so that they could ensure that they would always win the battles that they would enter.

When Taylek was leading the clan, she would personal choose all the fighters that were to be in the army, ensuring that the ones picked would be the best face for the army. The members picked would not have a choice in being picked or in being part of the military. If they didn’t want to be a part of the military, they would be killed by Taylek because they had defied her. She would use killing them as a show to the other members of the clan so that it was known what would happen if they defied her as well. After newer members of the army were added, the other members would make them go at the front of the line so that they would have to show off their skills.

They would be made to lead a small raid to Taylek’s standards as she would want to ensure she had picked the right members for their military force. When they would be at the front, they would be feeling the pressure of having to lead their team. The other member of their team would egg them on, and they would do what they could to ensure that the temporary leaders were feeling the pressure to do good. The other members would do what they could to try and make the job harder for the temporary leaders. When Taylek would find out about the hazing that would go on, she would threaten the other members of the army, making sure that they knew not to continue doing that or she would have them killed.

After the downfall of Taylek, the army had been disbanded, and whatever members were left were left having to figure out if they were able to build another army. They would go around asking each member that they could join the army and if they knew of anyone else that could join as well. They had scrambled to regrow the army so that they wouldn’t be blindsided and lose once other clans learned that they had been overthrown and that Taylek had been slaughtered. Once there was a significant number of members of their army, they decided that they would use the army to defend themselves instead of going around raiding other clans.

They had changed who they were, and until they were better able to defend themselves, they would wait until they could go back to threatening other clans into joining them.

Religion

Since the clan believed that they were more powerful than other clans, they didn’t believe that they needed to rely on ant sort of higher power. Although Taylek herself believed that there was a god that they could pray to that would give them strength when they went into battle. She had announced her beliefs to the clan when she had announced that she was going to be leading the clan. Because of her leading and having her beliefs, she decided that she would make the others pray with her when she did, especially before they would go into battles.

While the other members of the clan didn’t believe as Taylek did, they were scared to tell her that they didn’t want to pray to her god. They knew that she would retaliate and that they would most likely be killed. And so they decided that they would follow the same religion that she did in hopes that she would favour them and wouldn’t kill them since they were doing as she had asked of them. This god that Taylek believed in was called Ohiri, or so she said. She said that he was the god of good fortune and that he would be able to ensure that they would be victorious in their battles.

She had also said that as long as they were praying regularly, that they would have the best fortune back in the village, and that no one would bring them any harm. Once there were more than enough kin’toni believing in the god that Taylek had made up, she started to pretend that Ohiri was talking to her and that he would give her direct orders to do certain things. These orders were ones that she would make up so they she could keep control over the other members of the clan, and occasionally say that Ohiri was giving her orders to give to the other members of the clan.

If the other members wouldn’t listen, she would preach about how they would end up being in the bad graces of Ohiri. This, she would say, would mean that the members of the clan that were in his bad graces would have terrible luck. She would make sure that the specific clan members wouldn’t be able to do the things that they needed to, as she would pay other members to make the feel terrible. Eventually, the clan members in Ohiri’s bad graces would get on his good side again, and they would go back to being able to do what they wanted to.

Each time Taylek would get mad at a clan member, she would tell them that Ohiri was angry with them and that he wanted them to know it. She would use this time to torture the member of the clan that had made her angry. It became a weapon that she would use more than it was a religion to her, and the members of the clan grew to hate it once they had found out what she was doing.
