Phase 2:Untburpol Kin'toni Clan

The Untburpol are adapted to the scorching, highly exposed, and wind-scoured Kyrody Mesa Desert. They are very tall, gangling and wire thin of build. Their limbs are hyper extended for an massive surface-area-to-volume ratio for wick away heat. Due to being fragile and skeletal, they have very low muscle mass, leading to them being fragile and weak. This makes them easy to overpower in close combat. Their skin is sand colored, dry and chalky in texture to look like wind bleached sandstone and lower heat absorbing.
This skin has almost no melanin pigments, making even the scattered, ambient UV rays lethal, forcing them to stay underground until after full sunset. The hair is sparse, straw like and pale yellow in color. These bristles grow in tows along the head and spine for disrupting the optical silhouette of the body. The hair is unable to protect from the cold, making cold climates lethal. The eyes are wide, slit like and copper in color. These eyes have triple layer, opaque nictitating membranes that can close fully.
This way, they can still see silhouettes, even sin sandstorms. The protective membranes cloud sight enough that they lack perception, making long distance combat and leaping hard. The ears are extremely large, thin and bat like, and work as acoustic radar dishes for tacking even the smallest sounds. These ears also help vent body heat. The nose has a system of tightly curled internal turbinate bones. These contain a dense sticky mucus matrix to allow them to take the water from the air and stops fine desert dust.
The teeth are long, needle like and angled slightly backward. These teeth are for trapping and puncturing small, fast, slippery prey such as reptiles or small mammals. These teeth are highly fragile, and will painfully snap off if the kin'toni tries to bite anything tough such as bone or hard shell. The claws are wide, crescent-shaped and friction-grooved. These claws allow them to climb the fragile, crumbling sandstone rock faces. The claws are too blunt and curved to pierce, meaning leathery hides are too tough to damage.
The feet are long and flat, with wide splayed toes. These toes have semi elastic webbing made of skin that act as natural snowshoes for spreading their weight on soft sand dunes. Inside, they have an ultra-efficient water binding matrix that can take every drop of moisture from consumed blood, leading to them expelling only hard pellets though a cloaca. These also means that their internal waste products before they reach the cloaca are thick and prone to growing bacteria, that leads to infections unless they drink water to flush their systems.
Under their skin, they have a system of microscopic, expandable air-pockets that inflate at night to protect their insides from the freezing desert night. The iron-binding splenic glands are adapted to being able to tightly pack and store heavy hemoglobin molecules. This allows them to retain oxygen for long period, meaning they can bury themselves under the sand to hide. The blood vessels have a system of specialized, responsive valves to allow them to shut off the blood flow to their limbs to save warmth for the core in the freezing nights.
