Taerel Worldbuilding Wiki
Basic LoreShattering Age
The year is 4E 250, of the Second era. For over 66 decades, the world of Taerel has been ravaged by the kin’toni plague, a sickness that converts those inflicted into kin’toni, vampyric monsters seeking the blood of the zu’aan. The zu’aan and kin’toni struggle to live in a world that is out to kill them.. Forget the power of technology, the world has been sent back to a new dark age The zu’aan have been driven back to a new dark age by the kin’toni hunting them down if they grow any bigger then small tribes. Something has changed lately, as of the start of the Fouth Era, the kin’toni have stopped hunting down the zu’aan and now, cities have formed. The zu’aan are now made of two groups: The wandering tribal groupings that evade the kin’toni by never staying still. Their technology is only that of the stone age to the iron age. The cites are a new thing, having been founded at the start of the Fouth Era at the latest. Their tech is that of the ancient era of the zu’aan. Their survival is dependent on their high walls and their armies. Now, they are both dying, as their numbers dwindle, as a new ice age comes. The new ice age is coming, icy sheets from the North and South of Taerel, freezing all in its path.

WelcomeNewbie InfoWelcome to the Taerel Setting Wiki, a wiki for an original, scifi/horror Worldbuilding project set after a vampire outbreak brought the zu'aan empires of Taerel to their knees. The wiki is edited by paid creative writers who "claim" pre-made blank pages to write and post on a self-hosted unfinished content wiki and then the content is moved over to the wiki for finished content. We get around 50,000 to 100,000 words a month.

Featured Article"The Dynat Glowshroom Bayou’s territories have always been inhabited since times before the Stone Age mainly by wandering tribes that never stayed in this place for too long. In the Shattering Age, though, the Delet Tribal zu’aan took control of it and currently inhabit the area. Unlike many other places of Canlai, the Industrial Age left the Dynat Glowshroom Bayou untouched and didn’t cause its shrinking. Instead, from the Industrial Age on, when means of transport became more efficient, the area became a very important tourist destination and a study site for scholars who above all were interested in glowshrooms. Overall a pacific place, the Dynat Glowshroom Bayou never saw bloodsheds until the great kin’toni raid in 3E 3400 of the Awakening Age, when all the zu’aan living there perished and not a single one survived. After this notorious event, though, due to the territory not being inhabited by any life form, it slowly recovered and was repopulated by the fauna at the beginning of the Shattering Age and then passed under the control of the Delet Tribal zu’aan in 4E 20. The Dynat Glowshroom Bayou’s importance in the history of Canlai and Taerel in general comes from its various resources both for basic needs such as food and water to power the machines, as well for tourism, scientific studies, and commerce consisting mainly in drugs, clothing and raw materials to trade with other continents. Moreover, the Dynat Glowshroom Bayou has also been an important source of inspiration for many authors who throughout the world’s history created novels, poems, songs and legendariums involving this place as one of the protagonists.
