History

The Wor’ardi kin’toni clan were a gentle and peaceful clan. They lived within Kalem Savanna Plateau and had moved there just shortly after the infection had happened. Initially, there was nothing they noticed to be different from their clan. Aside from them now needing to drink blood to survive, and no longer being able to venture out during the day, the Wor’ardi clan had managed to stay the same. There were no obvious signs that showed that any of them were different, and that was okay for them. As the years had passed, many of the members had noticed that they had white patches showing up on their dark skin.

This was confusing for them as they hadn’t noticed anything of the sort previously, and they didn’t understand why it could be happening. After a while, there were more and more patches on their bodies, with some even looking like they were lighter than they were dark. Since there were no other symptoms that were associated with their light patches, the clan grew to like them, finding them to be something that made them unique from other clans. They believed that the light skin came from a mutation caused by the infection, but otherwise, they were completely healthy.

While the clan were peaceful, they were also very slow to learn new things. It would take them months or even years to learn the things that other clans had figured out quicker than them. They knew that they wouldn’t be able to do many of the things that others could do, at least not as quickly as they could. Once they had learned a new skill, they were excited to show it off, they wanted other members of their clan to be as happy about it as they were, and they would often rejoice over learning new things. If it was something that had taken them a long time to figure out, they would throw a small party and celebrate the new achievement.

Otherwise, they would congratulate the kin’toni that had figured it out before proceeding to continue their lives within the clan. This would allow for the clan to show their excitement before they had to go back to their work. The Wor’ardi clan lived in small wooden shacks that were scattered around their main government buildings. There weren’t many kin’toni that lived there, as they were a small clan even before the shattering happened. They would live together in their houses, often springing to have as many as five other kin’toni living there with them.

They preferred to live together as it ensured that they weren’t alone, and that usually they would always have a friend. This was how they liked it to be as they didn’t like to be lonely while they were doing just about anything. They knew that as long as they were with another one of the members of their clan, that they would never truly have to worry about being lonely, as this was a fear of theirs.

Psychology

As it had been previously stated, the Wor’ardi clan liked to be around one another. They liked when they would have companionship from their clan mates, as it would ensure their safety as well as allow for them to always have someone that they could talk to. As they were a verbal clan, having someone to talk to at all times was essential for them as this would allow them to voice their opinions. As well, having someone else to talk to would help the time pass quicker while they were working.

Since the Wor’ardi clan was smaller than an average clan, they decided to live together in their houses as they would allow them to always have their clan members around them. The clan liked this so much that there were some houses that had up to six kin’toni living there at one time. They would make sure to build their houses to allow for other kin’toni to live with them, as every time a house was built, they would plan to have many members living there instead of just a few. It was well known that the Wor’ardi clan had always been slower to learn than other clans were.

They knew that this, and they would plan accordingly, knowing that they wouldn’t have the same advancements as some of their neighbouring clans. They understood, however, that this made them more unique, although it wasn’t in an overly good way. They would be made fun of when they were meeting other clans for trades or for resources, as the other clans thought that they were funny for not being as advanced as other clans. Eventually, the Wor’ardi clan would end up figuring out what they needed to know, but by that time other clans would have developed other technology that the Wor’ardi clan didn’t know about.

However, the Wor’ardi clan would use their knowledge to their advantage, understanding that they couldn’t figure things out as fast as others, and exploiting the knowledge to gain an upper hand. Since the Wor’ardi clan knew that they would always be slower, they had learned to adapt their knowledge and techniques to better suit what they needed to do. Since they had decided to do this, they had developed techniques and knowledge that other clans didn’t have, and this would give them an advantage. This was especially useful when they would fight other clans, as while they didn’t have the same level of technology.

They would have to use what they did know to their advantage so that they could win the battles that they fought. Sometimes, they would offer their knowledge to other clans, wanting other smaller clans to have an advantage if they hadn’t been able to develop as fast as the bigger clans. The Wor’ardi clan had always wanted other clans to benefit as they did, and so that the other bigger clans weren’t able to overtake the smaller clans just because of their bigger size.

Biology

Biologically, there wasn’t much that the infection had done to the Wor’ardi clan. They were the same internally as other kin’toni, needing blood to survive, and not being able to walk in the daylight, but they were different on the outside. After the infection had spread through their clan, and years had passed, the Wor’ardi clan was convinced that they had come through without any mutations. They believed this for years until there were members of the clan that had started to show light spots on their skin. These spots started slowly, but eventually they started to accelerate in frequency. Some would end up with larger spots, while others had smaller ones.

Before the light spots had showed up on their skin, the Wor’ardi clan had been blessed with beautifully dark skin, but they had brandished light colored eyes. This had given them a striking appearance, and the start of the light spots showing up only made them more interesting to look at. The spots would cover every part of their bodies, and there would never be any sort of pattern to them, only causing the members of the clan to look more unique. Their eyes had been a darker green before the infection had started, but they had seemingly lightened to a lighter brighter green after the infection had made them into kin’toni.

Their eyes gave them the ability to help them to see in the dark, as that was when they were awake. The members of the clan hadn’t wanted to rely on the use of fire as they didn’t like it, instead using it only when they needed to. Since they didn’t like to use the fire to be able to see, they had trained their eyes to be able to see longer distances and with better clarity than previously. Since the Wor’ardi clan lived in Kalem Savanna Plateau, the jobs that they did for their clan were different than their jobs would be if they had lived somewhere with more vegetation.

They would spend their tie doing harder labour, having to work harder to make the dry land workable for what they needed it to do. This would mean that they would have larger muscles from their work, their strength being increased the more they would work. As well, work wasn’t divided separately for males and females, oftentimes there would be a healthy mix of males and females no matter what the job was that they would have to be doing, and this was how they liked for it to be. They would work together and would inevitably grow their muscles at the same time. While the males would have larger muscles, this wasn’t because they were doing more work.

It would more likely be because the males were larger in stature, and therefore would have more space for their muscles to grow. Since they would always work at the same times, the males and females would have the same amount of strength, and therefore would be able to complete the same tasks.

Culture

Since there weren’t so many members of the Wor’ardi clan, there were things that they would do together as a clan that they believed kept them close to each other. These things would be done routinely after their work was done, and they included things such as eating together, playing games together a couple of times a week, as well as attending functions together. They would make sure that they would always have other members of their clan around them as they never wanted to be alone. If you looked at the clan from the outside, you could see that there were many members of the clan that were in groups working together.

It was known that they didn’t like being alone for any reason, and so they would always ask one of the other members to come with or assist them with whatever it was that they needed to do. There had never been many members within their clan, either before or after the Shattering. This was because they had never truly wanted to branch out or accept too any other members into their clan. After the infection had wiped out their ability to have children, and older members had passed, their numbers had dwindled. This had caused the remaining members of the clan to become closer to one another, and this as well caused them to want to do everything together.

This is what made them who they were, letting them know that they were unique in this way, and that their closeness caused them to become attached to one another. When the members of the clan had finished their jobs for the day, they would go into their dining hall, and they would all have their meals. While they only drank blood, they would still insist on sitting down together and eating as one large family so that they could all talk about their days that they had. There was always a lot of talking, and the members would circulate between tables, always moving around so that they could talk to new people and listen to more stories.

This would cause them to have better experiences within their clan as well as grow their bonds with their clan mates. While they did live in big houses with one another, they would never stay in one home for too long. They would always be mobbing their houses around, allowing others to move in with them, or they themselves would move to another house so that they could get closer to other members of the clan. They wouldn’t have too many of their own personal belongings, so they would have no issue moving back and forth between houses.

None of the members of the Wor’ardi clan had any issue with moving, unless they had a reason to stay in one place, such as they owned the house that they were living in, or they weren’t physically able to move to other houses.

Government

Because the Wor’ardi clan was always moving around from house to house, they would have less fights than other clans would. There wasn’t much need for there to be laws in place that were meant to keep the fighting to a minimum. While there was only a small amount of kin’toni within their clan, they still felt the need to appoint officials that were able to take care of the laws and other business that would come up. These officials would be in charge of making laws that were necessary for the clan to survive, ensuring that they were kept safe.

As well, they would have to make sure that the military that they did have, while it was small, was keeping on top of the tasks that they would have to complete to keep their clan safe. Other tasks that the officials from the government would have to oversee would include them initiating trades and pacts with other clans, allowing the clan to have the supplies that they needed as well as making sure that they were providing what they could to other clans. While there were laws on place, they were set more along the lines of ensuring that the kin’toni within the clan were able to move around from house to house freely so that there wouldn’t be any fighting between the members of the clan.

This law would ensure that no one was to stay in the same house for too long, and that they would have a new house to go to so that they could have other kin’toni around to talk to and bond with. As well, there was a law in place that would ensure that there were no pacts made within their clan that would threaten the safety of the clan as a whole. This law allowed the members of the military to check any clubs or meetings that would take place to ensure that they would up to the description that the leaders of the clan had given the government officials.

Each of the groups would have to propose their idea to the government so that their clubs or groups could be approved. Sometimes, there were groups that would be rejected because they didn’t make enough sense to the government, and this would cause them to be rejected, however, this would not stop their members from meeting with each other in private. They would hope not to be caught, but there were many times when the groups would be found out, and they would be disbanded as a warning. the next time they would break this law, they would be sent to jail for a short time in hopes that they would learn from their actions and would not continue to break the law.

This usually worked, and since the members of the clan wouldn’t have to be stuck in jail for too long, they would learn rather quickly and change their ways so that they would not have to be sent back to jail.

Military

As previously stated, the military of the Wor’ardi clan were appointed to ensure that the members of the clan were following the laws of the government. They would also have to make their rounds around the edges of the villages to ensure that their clan was safe each and every day. They were a small military, their numbers being quite small compared to other clans in the areas surrounding them. While they were small in numbers, they knew what they were doing. There wasn’t a lot of fighting that would go on with the military, but when there was, the Wor’ardi clan would ensure that they weren’t the first clan that would go to assist.

They knew that they weren’t usually the first pick of other clans to go and provide aide, but when they would show up, their numbers would mean that whomever they aided would have just a few more men than their opposition. Since the Wor’ardi clan weren’t as advanced as the other clans, they hadn’t learned how to make the same weapons as other clans. They did what they could and made their weapons from wood and from rocks, but other clans had their weapons made from metal, and the Wor’ardi clan wouldn’t understand how they had managed that.

Occasionally, they would be gifted with weapons from other clans that they traded with, and they would use these new weapons to either upgrade their current collection, or they would try and break them down so that they might be able to learn how they were made. This would give them a bit on an advantage in forging their own weapons, but they would still take a long time to learn how to make them. As it were, the members of the Wor’ardi military would train as much as they could so that they were always in top shape if they were ever called to fight.

They would ensure that while they had more than enough fighting skills and techniques so that they could keep up with the other clans when they were fighting. They knew how to adapt, and while they couldn’t keep up in terms of weaponry, they were always making sure that they could keep up with their fighting skills. Since their skills were something that they always kept in top shape, other clans would ask if they could learn them as well, and the Wor’ardi clan would gladly teach them everything they could. Of course, they made sure that the clans that they did help were ones that they would be fighting alongside so that they didn’t have to worry about their fighting being used against them.

Otherwise, they would gladly take the time to teach the other clans how to fight just as they did. They would teach the other clans their ways as well as offering to help them adapt those fighting techniques so that they could use their new weapons as that is what they had on hand, and not what the Wor’ardi clan would use.

Religion

Because of how small their clan was, whenever anyone would have any ideas, they would share them with the rest of the clan. This would include when they wanted to talk about religion. While there weren’t any current religions that the Wor’ardi clan were following, that didn’t mean that there weren’t religions that they had followed previously. They would always bounce between religions, trying out the ones that they thought were interesting, and adapting their ways to accommodate them.

At one point, the clan had gone through several new religions within the span of a month, having been dissatisfied by the ones that they had already tried. Thus, they would give up on those religions and they would try new ones to see if they held something that they would be interested in. The clan would always make sure that they had fully integrated themselves into the religion that they had decided to try, knowing that if they didn’t, then they wouldn’t be able to properly experience the religion, and therefore they wouldn’t have the knowledge to say if they didn’t like it, or if it wasn’t for them.

Since they were always on the pursuit for new religions, they would talk to other clans when they were trading with them, or meeting with them for the first time, and they would inquire about their religion so that they might encounter a new religion for them to learn. The other clans that would share their religions would ensure that they gave them as much information as they could, wanting to make sure that their religion would be properly represented for another clan. If there was ever too much information that was needed to be given to the Wor’ardi clan.

They would always request that the clan would write the information down for them so that if they ever had any questions, they would be able to answer them by reading the answer. This was the way that the Wor’ardi clan liked to learn about the new religions, and they would always file the paper away so that they could go back to it another time. Occasionally, there were moments when the Wor’ardi clan would go without trying out a new religion, and this was usually because they had run out of religions to try. In this time, they would go about business as usual, or they would go back to previous religions to see if they could give them another try.

They would try them again, and if they ended up liking them, or adapting them to fit their lifestyle, they would pass their findings along to the other members of the clan, and so they would go back to following that religion until something new came along. Because of this, they didn’t have any consistent religion, and this would remain the only thing that would change their routines, as everything else remained unchanging. They would constantly look for new ones, as it had become a staple of their clan to do so.
