Untburpol Kin'toni Clan
History
The Untburpol kin’toni clan was founded on helping others. Long before they were kin’toni, the members of the clan would go around, travelling to other villages that were in need, and providing aid to anyone that needed it. They prided themselves on how they were able to help others with anything and everything under the sun. They had many members in their clan that could do a variety of tasks, and they would be highly sought after to help clan after clan to rebuild themselves and get back on their feet. After the infection happened, the Untburpol clan continued with their missionary efforts.
They didn't have the time to slow down and to fully accept that they had become kin’toni, so instead they adapted their efforts and continued to send help to other clans that needed it. They began bringing blood with them when they would offer it to any of the kin’toni that needed it, keeping them from starvation, and teaching them how they could go about getting their own blood. They even went as far as mapping out where the closest zu’aan villages were that were easy enough for them to go and hunt. While they were travelling missionaries, they did have a village of their own that they would go back to so that they could restock their supplies, take a break, or because they were called back for a specific reason.
This village was kept within the Kyrody Mesa Desert, and it was made of dense stone. For being a village of missionaries, they had a large village. There was at least one house per person, allowing each of them to live on their own, with their families, or to have extra houses for when their turned moved out, or they needed to house kin’toni from other clans. While they were out on their missions, they would ensure that there were always enough people left back at the village so that government proceedings still happened, as well as to ensure that the houses and the turned were taken care of.
Many turners with younger turned would stay back as they weren't always comfortable taking their turned on certain missions. Otherwise, many of the turned would go on missions with their children and their families, that way they could teach their turned while they were new. Because of how they operated their lives, they followed a strict set of rules that would allow them to work as much as they were able to work while remaining safe. They would have to sign any documents and contracts that would ensure that they would only be helping in certain ways, and that they would have to report as soon as they were done.
They did this to ensure the safety of the clan, allowing for the clan to keep track of how much of their resources they used, how long their missions would take, and they would plan how many times they would return to check and ensure things were going smoothly.
Psychology
Because the Untburpol kin’toni clan had chosen to be missionaries, they were an incredibly humble kin’toni. They would do anything they could to make sure that other clans were safe, and taken care of, usually going out of their way to do anything to help. That's why they would have to sign contracts to make sure that they weren't giving these other clans too much and putting themselves out of resources that they needed back at their village, or resources that they could take to other clans. The Untburpol clan believed that the key to happiness was to help other kin’toni with anything they needed, and that was their outlook on life.
They were confident that they would always have work to do, and that they would always be needed by someone. While they were working, they would do what they could to make sure that they were respecting the religious constructs of the other clans and their cultural aspects that the clan had so they weren't making the clan feel uncomfortable in their own village. When other kin’toni clans would seek them out for help within the Untburpol clan village, the clan would do everything that they could to make sure that they would feel comfortable.
They would make sure that they had everything they needed to be able to make sure that they could help, and if they didn't have the things that they needed, they would send out other members to go and get what was needed. While they were waiting on supplies, they would offer what they could to the visiting clan to make sure that they had everything they needed to be comfortable while they waited for what they needed. Since they were always so apt to help people, they were morally against fighting. They hated to see when anyone would fight over their help, and they would do anything that they could to resolve it.
Oftentimes they would split into groups so that they could help more people at once, not wanting to have two clans fighting over their services. They would rather split their teams so that they would be able to help everyone at the same time, rather than have anyone waiting and getting angry over it. Because of how humble they were, it was often assumed that it would be easy to take advantage of, but the Untburpol kin’toni clan was very careful. They always made sure to document everything, that way they would know how much of everything they were using and to which clan it went to.
This was the best way that they had found to ensure that they could keep track of where their supplies went and how much. They were always careful about everything, making sure that at the end of the day, everything went back to its usual place. They were very particular about where everything went, and that was so that they would always be able to access it as soon as it was needed.
Biology
Since the Untburpol clan were constantly travelling, they had quite lean bodies and a decent amount of muscle tone. They would walk for days to and from other clans to help the members with what they needed, and on top of that, they would have to carry their supplies and occasionally other members. Since they were always walking and carrying things, they had developed lean and strong bodies, which were only accelerated further by the infection that had caused them to become kin’toni. With the infection, their strength had increased, allowing them to carry more than what the average kin’toni could.
They would take with them what they needed, making sure in most cases that they had extra, and they would pack it into bags that they would strap to their backs while they were walking. This grew their upper body strength as well as their stamina and endurance, allowing them to carry more and more while still remaining lean. On top of having increased strength, the Untburpol clan, having quite long legs, were able to walk a lot faster than they used to be able to. This would allow them to travel from place to place quicker, and therefore they would be able to assist more clans with ease.
Their legs had become something that they were proud of, knowing that they could walk faster, and taking pride in it. It seemed as though the infection that had turned them into kin’toni had also lengthened their legs and in doing so, had increased their speed. Even around their village they would walk as fast as they could to each place that they had to go, wanting to get things done as quickly as they could so that they could get to doing other things. While they weren't necessarily in a rush, it always seemed as though they were since they were always moving so fast.
Although to them, they were moving at their normal speed, and everyone else was moving slower than normal. The members of the Untburpol clan were a traditionally good looking clan. Their faces were always painted with a smile, and because of this, they were more approachable. They made sure that they were more approachable so that other kin’toni weren't worried about having to approach them and ask for help. They had light hair that was usually kept up so that it wouldn't get in the way when they were working. Usually they would braid their hair back out of their faces since they weren't always able to bathe while they were out assisting other clans.
Their eyes were the color of the clouds, a light whitish grey that seemed more inviting than anything else. They had an eye to pick out details that others would miss as it was their job to ensure everything was taken care of. While many would normally find grey eyes hard to look at, their light color making them look as though they were sad, the Untburpol clan was able to make their eyes inviting as they would never stop smiling no matter what.
Culture
While the Untburpol kin’toni clan would spend their time out on their missions, there were times that they would have to return to their village. These times would include needing to restock their supplies, weddings taking place, funerals, and any sort of government announcements. Each of these things would cause every one of the members of the clan to come home, and they would meet at the center of town, learning the reason that they had to come home. If they had to come back for a wedding, they would head back to their houses and get ready over the next couple of days, ensuring that the wedding would go off without a hitch.
Each of the members of the clan would be given a job to do, and they would always make sure that they completed it with as much accuracy as they could manage. If they were called back for a funeral, they would mourn in public for a couple hours before heading back to their houses and readying themselves for the funeral. When they got back from their missions, the funeral would likely already be set up, and they would just have to mourn together, and then they would get ready to attend the funeral. They would all pay their respects and with the family well, ensuring that each of them talked to the family at some point so that the family felt as though they weren't alone.
If they were called back because of any government announcements, they would usually head directly home where they would be greeted with a notice on their doors about when the meeting was and what it was about. Usually they would have to meet the next day at the town hall where the leaders of the clan would announce what they had to and then they would be told to take a couple of days off to relax unless they were called out for an emergency. When the members of the Untburpol clan would have to come back to the village to restock their supplies, they would usually stop where they had to to grab what they needed so that they could fill their bags back up.
Some of the members would stay in their houses for a bit, relaxing a little before they would have to set back out, while others would immediately restock their bags, grab another mission, and they would head back out as soon as they were able to, wanting to get a leg up on their new missions and wanting to complete as many missions as they could. It was known that initially, they would have a set amount of hours that they would have to complete so that they could choose the field that they wanted to go into, and many of them would do as many as they could, as quickly as they could so that they could finally decide their career paths and truly help other kin’toni in the way that they wanted to.
Government
While there would always be members of the Untburpol kin’toni clan out of missions, there were also always members of the clan that would stay back at the village. These members were usually parents with smaller children/children that needed to be in person to be able to complete some of their courses, as well as members of the government that needed to stay back so that they could conduct meetings, and ensure that everyone was taken care of while they were out on their missions. Because of the clan keeping track of the clans that they helped, and the supplies that they used, the leaders of the clan would spend large amounts of time going through the paperwork and ensuring that it was filled out properly.
They would also sit down together and go through the letters from clans that were requesting help, and they would prioritize them, making sure that the clans that needed help first would be closer to the top, and thus would be seen and helped first. Since there was such a high demand of clans that needed help from the Untburpol clan, the leaders of the government would often attach time limits onto the clan reports so that the members that had decided to take on that task would know that they would only have a certain amount of time to complete what they needed to.
While this didn't happen often, it would happen enough that the members of the clan would always remember to look and to memorize the time limits along with the details so that they wouldn't forget anything. As well as ensuring that the clans had enough help from them, the leaders of the government would also ensure that each of the members of the clan that had just left school were given the amount of hours they had to complete before they were able to choose which field to go into for the rest of their lives.
They would ensure that they were given enough tasks that would thoroughly take them from place to place and doing various tasks so that they could see what they were good at and would know what they wanted to choose when the time came. While they weren't directly told how many hours they had to complete, many of the younger kin’toni from this clan would set out as soon as they could, joining any groups that would take them so that they could experience everything they needed to. Once it was deemed that they had experienced more than enough situations to be able to pick what they wanted to do, the leaders would call them to their office and have them pick.
They were only allowed to pick once, so the members would be nervous about their choices. On top of choosing, they would have to justify their choice, explaining why they chose what they did, and why they felt that they would be a helpful addition to it.
Military
Since the Untburpol clan were so rooted in assisting other clans, they did the same thing with their army. They would essentially advertise members of their army, saying that they would be able to go and help where they were needed so long as it was safe for them to do so. Usually, they would be sent to other clans that needed the extra defenses if they had been threatened, or if there were clans around that wouldn't hesitate to attack just because they could. Other times they would be sent to aid other armies that had injured troops and needed other fighters to step in so that they could seek the proper medical attention.
Because they were so highly sought after, the Untburpol clan was always requesting that more missionaries become military so that they could spread out their troops to more places, or more evenly. Quite a few of the missionaries were such that they would rotate between being part of the army, or going on different missions and aiding in other ways. Each of the members of the army were trained to fight in different styles as they were always being sent off to help other clans. They wanted to make sure that the members were able to fight as the clan that they were going to, that way they wouldn't have to learn when they got there, they already knew what they were doing.
Since they needed to be diverse in their fighting styles, they would oftentimes bring in other kin’toni clan troops to show off their fighting styles and techniques for a few of the Untburpol clan to learn quickly before passing it along through their army. It was ensured that each member was taught any new skills as soon as they came back to the village so that as soon as they left again, they knew how to perform the new skills. Each member of the army, and even many of the regular clan members were taught the basics of how to use swords and bows so that they always had the knowledge.
Any of the regular kin’toni that wanted to learn new fighting or weapons skills could sign up to take classes taught by the military. They would choose to learn so that they could defend themselves while they were at home, or even so that they could make sure they were safe on missions. While it was common for other members to learn how to use weapons, the clan would always make sure there was at least one undercover military kin’toni within the group of missionaries so that if anything was to happen, then they could step in to resolve the issue.
They would dress as regular kin’toni so that if they were attacked, it didn't look like the group was being protected by a military kin’toni, and that was the intention, and it was how they knew that their clan members would remain safe.
Religion
Religiously, the Untburpol clan was under the impression that they served a god that liked acts of service. The founders of the clan had talked about good fortune coming upon their village for helping others, and so that was how they had founded their religion. While they didn't know if the god that they served had a name, or if he really truly existed, many of the kin’toni within the clan were too busy to worry about it. They were constantly kept so busy that they wouldn't have time to question who they were pleasing with their actions.
Each time there was a ceremony that would take place, be it a wedding, a funeral, or even the swearing in of a new leader for their clan, there was always a time that each member of the clan would leave an offering to both please their god, and to apologize for taking time to themselves instead of continually working to help others. Each time that they would assist another clan, they would leave an offering there so that the god that they worshipped would know that they had finished with their job and would send good vibes to the clan to help them prosper.
No matter where they would go, the clan would always ask whoever they were helping if they were okay to leave their offerings, ensuring in doing so that they weren't interfering with other religions that could be present within the clans. Of course many of the clans would be totally okay with them doing so as they would welcome any help that they could get. While they were out helping other clans, the Untburpol clan would always offer to teach the other clans about their religion, and ask if they would like to join their clan remotely from their own clan so that they could help more people.
Many would accept, wanting to pass on the help that they had received and wanting to feel good about doing so. In accepting this, they would be taught how to lay the offerings when they were finished helping other clans, followed by them being initiated on how they would help the other clans. Once they were taught what they needed to know, the members of the Untburpol clan would return back to their village to announce that they had recruited more members, and then they would grab extra supplies that they had, and would transport them to the clans that they were just at so the could be taken to more clans that were in need.
They believed that in always recruiting more kin’toni to assist them in helping other clans, that they would be making their god happy, and thus they would be showered in even more good fortune that they would, in turn, take and spread to as many more clans as they could find, or even back to the other clans that they had already helped. It was a never ending cycle, and they enjoyed being able to constantly help others.
