Urayachay Kin'toni Clan
History
When the Urayachay kin’toni clan succumbed to the infection, they accepted it happening. Since they were already under the impression that everything happened for a reason, they were excited to see what life had in store for them this time. As they learned what being changed meant, they became more and more elated. The clan accepted needing to drink blood, and that they couldn’t exist when it was light out. They were always content with whatever happened as long as they were able to eat, and be merry. Since they lived in Rynper Jade Valley, the Urayachay clan decided then and there that they would become a more natural clan.
They rid themselves of their clothes, deciding that they would make their clothing out of only the most natural things. This resulted in them making their clothes out of large leaves that they found around them. As well, they decided that they would keep their hair long and hanging down around their shoulders and back since if it was meant to be short, then it wouldn't grow long. While the Urayachay clan knew that they were a content clan, they also knew that there were clans of kin’toni out there that weren’t. So instead of existing amongst themselves, they reached out to other clans and asked if any of their members would want to join them, in search of a happier life.
While many members joined, and helped to grow the number of kin’toni in the Urayachay clan, it also caused a rift with other clans. They believed that this clan was trying to poach as many of their members as they could so that they could be the most powerful clan all on their own. The Urayachay clan knew that this wasn’t true, but they would allow the other clans to think what they wanted to about them, as it didn’t bother them to allow other clans to have their opinions. They wouldn’t fight the opinions of the other clans, instead, they would take the feedback that they were freely giving, and they would change their ways so that they would seem more friendly.
Everything that they would do, would be done while they were growing their clan in numbers. Many others recognized them as the nice clan that they could join if they needed somewhere new to go, where they could feel more accepted. The new members would be openly accepted and taught their ways, allowing them to fit in as well as they could. They would give them jobs to do so that each thing that needed to get done around their clan was getting done, and that was how they operated. Since they had renounced wearing unnatural clothing, they would do everything they could to find more natural options.
Their most common option would be leaves, and they had found a way to tie them around themselves in such a way that their clothes wouldn’t move as they went through with their chores. This was one of the most profound inventions that they had made, and they were nothing short of proud of their choice, knowing that the clothing that they wore daily was approved by their culture.
Psychology
Because of how genuinely nice the Urayachay clan was, there was next to no fighting within their clan. Each time there was any sort of argument started between them, they would sit down with their clan mentors and they would have a meal. This was because the Urayachay clan believed that eating food was how they were able to resolve their arguments. They believed that if your stomach was full then you wouldn’t be able to complain about anything, as you would be too full. If the eating didn’t work, they would each have a turn to speak about their issues, and they would sit together with the mentors until they were able to come to a mutual agreement until they were all in agreement.
After, they would be made to apologize to each other, and they would go about their day, Their issues having been resolved. Aside from being genuinely content as a clan, the kin’toni that resided in Rynper Jade Valley had next to no issues that they would have to deal with on a daily basis. While there were other clans that would have to go into battle, or that would have to protect their clan members from threats on a daily basis, the Urayachay clan, having been so close to nature for so long, didn’t have to worry about this. Because of their connection to nature, they didn’t have to worry about being attacked because they were so naturally protected.
Nothing that any other clan did would make a difference to them as their village was hidden so well inside of the valley that it would be hard to find them, unless you knew where you were looking. Because the Urayachay clan had built their homes and then proceeded to camouflage them, they lived their lives comfortably knowing that they were protected and that if there was a threat, they would know well before it was upon them and they would be able to prepare. The clan believed that as long as they held a strong connection with nature, that they would always be safe and protected, and that their lives would be filled with prosperity and good fortune.
As well, they believed that everything that they needed would come easily to them. They were a genuinely optimistic clan, seeing the best in every situation that happened, and that was okay with them. They would try to spread positivity around between the clans that were close to them, but it wouldn’t always be widely accepted, and so they would remember that those clans didn’t want their positivity. Along with this, they would try to spread their ways and their advice around among themselves and then to other clans, hoping that others would want to be more like them, and so they would either benefit from having another new member.
Or they would know that they had helped as much as they could. This was how their positivity worked, allowing them to always see the best in every situation, and wanting to share it so that they weren’t the only ones that benefited from it.
Biology
While the Urayachay kin’toni clan spent their time enjoying the outdoors, they weren’t the most traditionally beautiful clan there ever was. They did have beautiful swirling emerald eyes that would seemingly dance in the moonlight, but otherwise, they were fairly ordinary looking. They had slate grey hair, it falling pin straight around their shoulders and down their back. No matter how they tried to curl it naturally, it would always remain straight, and eventually, they learned to accept this about their hair. They accepted that it was just how they were supposed to look with pin straight and slate grey hair, and they had decided to accept that.
Along with their long grey hair, and emerald eyes, the Urayachay clan had small, round faces that seemed almost too small to hold their features. With their faces being too small, their features looked that much bigger, and it gave them an unnatural look. Since they didn’t have anything that wasn’t natural, the clan rarely saw their reflection, catching it only when they would go down to bathe in the water. Even then, they would barely catch what they looked like, while they were more focussed on bathing and swimming in the cool water.
Their bodies were also more on the average side, having nothing that would stand out to the eye. The men were all traditionally tall and lean, their muscles pronounced but not protruding as they were working hard all day. The women had curvier bodies, as well as being shorter in stature. Their bodies were made for bearing children as nature intended, and once the infection took their ability to conceive children of their own, their covet bodies were left as the last remaining sign of the children they once had. When the members of the clan would dress, they would do so in the leaves that they had turned into garments.
These would cover only their genital areas, ensuring that they were able to go and work, and that their clothes wouldn’t fall from their bodies. The men had found a way to formulate shorts out of the leaves, making it so that their legs were more covered than they needed to be, and that they were protected when they needed to lift things. The woman’s clothing resembled under garments in the way they hugged their bodies and showed off their curves. This was the easiest way for them to wear the clothing, as it was also the easiest way to make the garments. They would show their designs to each other when they did some up with other clothing, and oftentimes they would show other clan members how to make those clothes so that they could have some of their own.
Their clothing was one of the things that they were most proud of, knowing that they were able to use the most natural things to turn into clothing.
Culture
Culturally, the Urayachay kin’toni clan knew that they were all a huge family. They would do everything together, spending as much time as they could with each other so that they could strengthen their bonds with each other. Since they were such a large family, the Urayachay clan were always inviting other kin’toni to their clan, to join their family and accept their ways just as they did. While many other kin’toni would turn down their offer, there were many other kin’toni that would accept their offer. Once they brought the new members to their clan, they would spend days helping them get acclimated so that they could fit into the clan.
The members of the Urayachay clan would show the new members what it was like to live as a naturalist, allowing them to ask as many questions as they needed to, as well as allowing them to take their time adjusting. While the new members were adjusting to life as naturalists, the other members of the clan were thanking the stars for sending them more kin’toni that they were able to teach their ways. The more clan members they had, the more they were able to accomplish within their clan, cultivating their land and growing their crops. Everything they did, they believed they were doing for a greater purpose, taking into consideration how they would be able to better improve their work.
They understood how they were supposed to complete their chores, but if they were ever unsure, they would ask other members of the clan to see how they would do the task at hand. This would allow them to be fully sure of what they understood what they were supposed to do. Each of the members of the clan were fairly similar. They would follow the same routines, those being getting up at the same time each day, eating, going out to complete their chores before they would come back for another meal and grooming themselves before heading to bed.
There was next to no diversity within their routines, as they didn’t see a point in having unique schedules. Having the same schedule would allow for them to meet at the same time and to work in unison to complete their tasks. When they were finished, they would walk together back to their respective homes, and where they would eat. Afterwards, they would go to the lake or the river as small groups, and would bathe together, allowing them to be able to hold conversations while they were grooming themselves. Once each member of their groups were finished with their bathing routines.
They would once again walk as a group back to their homes where they would turn in before the sun rose, and they would sleep through the day, waiting until the moon would come up so that they could go about their days once again.
Government
Because the Urayachay clan didn't believe in having too many rules, they didn’t feel the need to have a fully stocked government. While they did have mentors for when arguments would erupt, and they did have a few leaders, the clan wouldn’t partake in politics if it could be avoided. For the longest time, the clan hadn’t even appointed any sort of leader to lead their clan as they believed that they didn't need to have a leader since there wasn't any demand for one. But after a while, it was clear that there should be at least one kin’toni that would take care of paperwork, and initiate trade routes and partnerships with other clans.
As the clan grew, the Urayachay kin’toni decided that they would unanimously appoint at least six leaders to take care of the clans affairs. These kin’toni were the smartest or oldest and were the most fit to lead their clan. While they were leaders, they would take care of affairs such as initiating trade partnerships with other clans, ensuring that they would be getting and giving the supplies that they needed to grow their clan, as well as keep the existing clan members comfortable and content. And since they didn’t want their valley to be found, they would always make sure that their trades were initiated a safe distance away from their village, ensuring that they would be able to hide their village from the prying eyes of other clans.
As well, the kin’toni that would meet with the other clans would dress in their old clothing, unsure that they would be accepted if they were to show up wearing leaves as clothing. They knew they weren’t ashamed of what they wore, but they didn’t want to risk trades falling through because of their appearances. Aside from initiating trades, the leaders were also in charge of completing paperwork when needed as kin’toni would join their clan. When new members would join their clan, the leaders would require them to sign documents that allowed for them to access everything that the other members of the clan were entitled to.
This was done just before the parties that would take place to welcome the new members. As well, the leaders were the ones that ensured that everyone was living as naturally as possible. They would strive to ensure that each of the clan members was following the naturalist rules, and that if they weren't, then they would make sure to talk to them and change what they could. If the members of the clan didn't want to change their ways, they would be reminded again, and if they still didn't want to change, then the leaders would take more hasty action to ensure that they would listen.
The leaders would go as far as they could to make the member listen, but even they knew that it wouldn't always be effective, so they would offer the member one more chance to change or be asked to leave.
Military
It was widely known within the clan that fighting was not allowed. They had a no violence policy, and anyone caught violating that would be sent to the mentors so that their fighting could be resolved. While the Urayachay clan did believe that fighting was caused by hunger, they still would not allow fighting to take place, and thus they appointed the mentors. Their sole purpose was to mediate fights for as long as it took to resolve the conflict, and then they would ensure that the clan members would go back to their scheduled chores and tasks.
If there was ever a conflict that couldn’t be resolved, it was proposed that the members of the clan would be sent into solitary confinement so that they could reflect on their actions and hopefully come to a resolution themselves. They would be told that they were allowed to do whatever during their time in solitary, and many of them would end up talking to themselves, making sure that they had covered everything before they would request to be allowed out. While solitary was always an option, many of the members of the clan would do what they could to avoid it as it was incredibly lonely, and they wouldn’t know how long they were stuck in there before they came out.
When there were battles between other clans, the Urayachay clan would refuse to send any of their members into battle. They knew that the battles were meant to kill off other clans in hopes that there would be one true winner, and the Urayachay clan knew that they didn’t want to participate in the slightest. They would watch and listen as the other clans would slaughter each other, and they would sit down and hope that the fighting would be over soon, and that the leaders of each clan would sit down and eat and resolve their problems.
They would ask that the fighting be kept as far away from their clan as possible, that way they didn’t have to deal with the fighting so close to their peaceful home. While it wasn't always guaranteed that they wouldn't have to go and assist with the battles, they were hopeful that they would pass easily, and that the other clans wouldn't lose too many of their members. After the battles had been over for quite some time, the Urayachay clan would go to where they had been held, and they would spend days cleaning up the area.
They didn't want the spoils of battle to taint the soil there, because they knew that it would make it very hard for the trees and the plants there to grow. They would take their time while they were cleaning, not wanting to miss anything as they would restore the valley and the areas surrounding it to the state that it was in before the battles had started. They didn't care how long it took, they were always dedicated to restoring nature.
Religion
As it had been previously stated, the Urayachay kin’toni clan completely and totally lived their lives to uphold the most natural ways of life. They believed that nature was to be preserved, and that it was their job to do so. Since the beginning of their clan, long before they had been turned into kin’toni, the Urayachay clan knew that they had a special connection with nature. They would do everything that they could to ensure that they were finding natural solutions to regular problems, that way that they weren’t as heavily contributing to making Hyd-Cramdu sick.
After they had been changed into kin’toni, this connection that they felt with nature was amplified. They were able to feel nature more completely, becoming more and more grateful that they lived in such a beautiful place, and that they were able to experience so many beautiful things over the years. When new members joined their clan, it was made known to them that they would have to respect nature just as much as the rest of the clan did. They would have to change their ways entirely to ensure that they were able to live as natural a life as they possibly could.
When the members of the clan would join, they would go for a walk through the valley and they would appreciate everything that nature had to offer. Other current members of the clan would join them, as they never passed up the opportunity to go out and bask in nature's beauty. As they spent their time enjoying nature and ensuring that they weren't harming the area around them just by living there, the members of the Urayachay clan had the sense that they were doing right by nature. They saw that their efforts had caused flowers to bloom bigger, and that their crops would grow more bountifully.
Their harvest would be bigger each time, as they knew how to ensure that the land was taken care of. Eventually, the clan kept growing, and they had to start housing members with each other, whether they wanted to be or not, until they could build more places for them to live. It wouldn't take them long, and the other members would do what they could to accommodate the new members within their homes for as long as they could, but ultimately, it was a relief when the new members had their own home that they could go to.
Once they were in their new homes, the existing members of the clan would frequently go over and offer to go on nature walks with them so that they could show them around and ensure that they didn't get lost until they knew the lay of the land. It would also allow them to have more time to enjoy nature and experience everything it had to offer, as that was their greatest joy in life, knowing that they loved nature, and that nature loved them back.
