History

The Vryialsa clan were kin'toni from the zu'aan city called Naal that had to flee the risings of the city's rulers in 4E 87. They lead to a region called Varoin, a forest in the northern parts of the landmass of Canlai. They lived in relative peace and with few raids by other clans. In time they built their numbers, mostly with kin'toni that had gone to them for safety. Most of these kin'toni had no clan and lived alone or in small groups. In the year 4E 96, a civil war began to erupt within the then-named Vryialsa clan as a result of a group of outgoing government leaders from within the clan attacking future leader Viat Maltxi from behind.

This war, which lasted for more than twenty years, was so bloody and so intense that the slightly smaller fraction of the clan retreated and broke away from the Vryialsa clan along with their leader Maltxi to form the Wialshy clan and relocate to another region. As the leader of the Wialshy clan had still been in the early stages of recovery at that time. Subsequently, the fraction that had supposedly won the war didn't realize that they had won the war until they discovered that they were fighting each other. Eventually, clan founder Wialshy would recover from what would generally be confirmed as a traumatic brain injury.

This was suffered at the hands of the outgoing governmental officials who had a beef against Maltxi, especially when considering how Maltxi's views on certain diplomacy tactics didn't sit well with his foes, and by the year 4E 5000, he had fully recovered from his injury. Thus being able to remember things more clearly. However, during the Shattering, the Vryialsa clan suddenly invaded the much-larger Wialshy clan by surprise, at which point they would eventually respond by coming in drones with stone clubs and crude blades, at which point their foes would later be forced to retreat.

After the end of the Shattering things began to take a turn for the worse, especially after the death of the Wialshy clan founder Viat Maltxi. At this point, a new successor had to be determined through a debate, and the winner would be determined by the amount of support that the candidate got from his fellow Wialshy kin'tonians. After a vigorous search for a new clan leader, someone eventually stepped up to the plate and eventually took the helm as clan leader. Today the clan itself has a population of roughly five hundred to five hundred and fifty, particularly as a result of the sudden and mysterious disappearances of many of the Wialshy kin'toni.

These are thought to be raids by other kin'toni clans. Even so, the clan looks forward to the future, and the Wialshy clan in general are extremely optimistic about what things are to come; however, they may end up getting a rude, cold awakening come the beginning of the Ice Age.

Psychology

Psychologically speaking, the typical Wialshy kin'toni has a very optimistic outlook on life as a general whole. Despite being weak in numbers they look at life as an experience of learning and understanding, and their efforts to make their own lives tolerable, as well as the lives of others tolerable, are truly something to see. Their thinking pattern makes them quite intelligent in more ways than one, and the typical Wialshy kin'toni always has a strategy in mind when coming up with an idea and enforcing said idea. That being said, most of the Wialshy kin'toni population have a unique mindset that makes them an interesting breed.

This is especially when it comes to trying to make a difference in each other's lives. Additionally, Wialshy kin'toni has a strange sense of heightened awareness about them that causes their hearing abilities to be significantly sensitive at times, so generally, when they hear something in their sleep they will wake up and try to figure out what's bothering them before going back to sleep. They also have a few pet peeves about them, such as inappropriate horseplay between fellow kin'toni during sleeping hours, offensive joking, and even sleight of hand during group efforts.

Either way, most Wialshy kin'toni have a unique wit about them and they are not afraid to show it, especially considering how intelligent they are. Roughly half of the population suffers from some kind of uneasiness despite their optimism. When it comes to other behavioural patterns the typical Wialshy kin'toni is often considered kinder than other kinds of kin'toni, but that extra kindness comes with an extra dosage of discipline and responsibility; therefore, the Wialshy kin'toni is not easy to take advantage of, for once you take advantage of a Wialshy kin'toni an eventual but imminent reaction is sure to transpire.

Wialshy kin'toni doesn't take disloyalty lightly and they do not like traitors, especially those that abandon the clan for something that they think is greater. They do not like to give up on things, so they are also questionably persistent on several different things, and because of that they are also very determined to get certain tasks done. A Wialshy kin'toni has a very good sense of humour, and one can determine what is funny and what is not, especially when listening to jokes, and because of that, the typical clan member of the Wialshy kin'toni is very warmhearted at times, especially when in a jovial mood.

However, Wialshy kin'toni is not typically as jovial, except for when they want to be; thus, as a result, much of the Wialshy kin'toni's personality revolves around the Wialshian's emotional mentality, personality traits, behavioural patterns and psychological tendencies. Even so, Wialshians have been known to be depressed at times, and other fellow Wialshians have had to cheer them up.

Biology

The Wialshy are adapted to the pitch black, abrasive, humid Anyeri Hard Rock Erosional Caves. They are compact, low to ground, and wedge shaped of build. Their limbs are powerful and short. This is an adaption to scrambling and leverage in confined spaces. The downside of this is being unable to swim or climb as they are too heavy. They skin is pigment-less, translucent and has an tough, keratinized dermal layer. This is an adaption to resist abrasion from constant contact with jagged rock. The skin has pores for condensing and absorb minuscule water droplets.

This is to aid in water intake. There are also adaption to maximize oxygen absorption in water. This allows them to stay underwater for a long amount of time. The downside of this hyper absorbent skin is being vulnerable to airborne spores, poisons and smoke.Under the skin are layers of tough, shock-absorbing adipose tissue. Most of it is around major joints and the rib cage. This is an adaption to protect from impacts on rock. This tissue is heavy and dense, and is part if why they cannot swim.

The hair has been reduced to fine, sensory whiskers around the joints and head. These are adapted to detect air currents and nearby objects in the absolute darkness. These hairs are fragile and easy to damage. Their eyes are deeply set, vestigial and with an thin, tough, transparent membrane. They are blind, with an atrophied lens and iris. The ears are highly mobile, large and dish shaped. The inner ears are hyper-developed. These ears have fluid-filled channels that act as a sophisticated echo-location and directional hearing system.

The nose is a flat broad thing with horizontal slits rather than typical nostrils. The nose has very dense olfactory receptors specialized in detecting trace pheromones and organic decay. The teeth are short, square and very strong. These teeth are for grinding and crushing hard insect exoskeletons and small bones. Given that they are not sharp, they struggle with cutting flesh to gain blood. The caws are wedge shaped, short and blunt. These claws are continually being worn down and regrown.

These claws are an adaption for climbing and traction. The downside is these claws require an larger intake of blood to maintain. The finger and toe joints are adapted to be able to partially lock into place via powerful tendon-muscle contraction. This is an adaption for gripping onto rocks. This also can lead to muscle fatigue if overused. The limbs being short and powerful allows them to more near-silently on loose scree and fractured rock. The kidney function is enhanced to to able to recycle more urea to lower the loss of water when urinating and defecating.

The downside is needing to "flush" the system with water time to time to avoid an buildup that can make them ill. They also have an lymphatic/digestive system with extra lobes and organs that allows them to filter and neutralize the specific low-grade organic toxins and waste of cave life.

Culture

The Wialshy kin'toni have a very strange culture about them, yet at the same time, their culture is very similar to that of other neighbouring or abroad clans. There are divides in the clan along social, religious and political lines. The kin'toni in the government and religious priesthood is considered of high importance in the clan. They live in smaller groups all over the region, to stop the whole government and or religious priesthood from being taken out at once. Another group in the clan are the kin'toni in the military of the clan who live scattered on the outskirts of the region to be able to respond faster to any trespassing attempts.

The clan has a population of slaves that live with their owners and are treated somewhat well by their owners. The groups in the clan are the kasi, these are kin'toni that are deformed or disabled in a way that makes them unable to work, they live in outcast groups and are ignored or treated badly by kin'tonid in the clan that think they are a waste of resources. The kasi have few protections under clan law. Another class in the clan are called the xalafe (forsaken), these are all outcast from the clan due to crimes like murder or betraying the clan. These are hunted on sight and have no protection under clan law.

It is known one kind of kitchen utensils are strangely-shaped stone ladles to stir the pot of cooked food over an open fire. They are very fond of cooking food in a pit that has a fire lit in it, stones put on top to heat, and the food put on top of the stones. With most of their diet is made up of meat, cavefish and cave mushrooms, it is somewhat repetitive. One food of there is far'ka, this is a joint of meat, stuffed with cave mushrooms and roasted. Another food is jayt, thinly sliced fish in cave mushroom sauce. The music that kin'toni is in this listen to is played on wind instruments made of bone, drums made of animal skin and boneshakers.

There is lots of chanting and call and response singing. Their art is mostly carvings on cave walls that tell of the clan's history and stories. They live in large groups, normally 30 to 50 a cave and each kin'toni own very little in the way of possessions. Most kin'toni sleep on the floor of the cave on fur blankets. Each cave has a communal food store that holds dried and salted meat and fish for if there are food shortages. The food stores are stored in fired clay pots, boxes of wood made to be waterproof and similar. A kin'toni in this clan normally just own their weapons, clothing and some basic kitchen utensils. These are kept in clay pots or baskets of woven grasses.

Typical male clothing trends include a cloak made of furs from within the region that is often worn with the fur side out. All kin'toni in this clan wear dull brown leather loincloth that a typical male Wialshian wears. Meanwhile, typical females wear cloaks that are the same as ones worn by males. The female Wialshian also wears a fur loincloth as well as a fur strap on one's chest. Even so, the straps that the females wear on their chest are made by some of the males from within the clan.

Government

Governmentally speaking the Wialshy clan have their distinct kind of government, which is a crossover between royalty and an educatory setting. The leader of the Wialshy clan is often referred to as the Ghuyrd, whereas the other co-leaders are simply referred to as the Ghuyburans (or, the Leader's henchmen); thus, each of the leaders within the clan share power and responsibility among each other, and they all have a unique way of governing the Wialshy clan using various teaching methods that would otherwise teach newly-transformed kin'toni to function as an individual and learn how to survive in their region as well as in other regions like it.

This is not an easy thing to do as it requires the appointing of a few Zwyda'ids (or, simply put, educators) that are willing to teach the newly transformed how to survive. Given that this governmental structure is not necessarily the best kind of structure, it also comes as no surprise that the Zwyda'ids appointed to teach the newly-turned recruits on how to live and thrive within the clan are given the option to determine which key essential elements of a Wialshy clan member's existence must be taught. What comes as a shocking twist, however, is that whatever the appointed chooses to teach, one thing that must be taught is about mentality and learning patterns.

Some of the Zwyda'ids, make it so the newly-turned recruits must focus entirely on building the mentality and learning patterns of a Wialshy kin'toni throughout one's existence, and that is a responsibility that some just aren't destined to handle, especially since this responsibility comes throughout thousands of years. Because of the serious amount of responsibility instilled in being a Zwyda'id many of them have ended up having to take a leave of absence, resign, or have ended up dying while holding that position within the clan's Atosdadxa governmental structure.

This has to lead many within the clan to question whether or not their government's plan to educate and govern them is working very well. Although the strategies used by the Atosdadxa are, in fact, slightly questionable most of the Wialshy population believe that a bright future is in store for them despite the Ice Age that is soon to come, and despite the typical Wialshian's many inconsistencies it is generally believed that the Wialshy clan are better off now than they were thousands of years ago during the days of their ancestors. If such vacancies come up, a special election is held in the form of a tournament.

This is where the best and brightest Wialshy kin'toni converge in the centre part of the region in which they live to participate in a martial arts bracket. The rounds are done by way of one-on-one-on-one rules, and the first person to knock one of their opponents out will move on to the next round, and this pattern will continue until there are two winners. The two winners that make it to the top of the bracket are eventually declared as the replacements of the vacant position by which the former leader abdicated. Even so, the two winners that are declared the replacements for the abdicated vacancy must then duel each other to determine who will have the most individual power.

Military

The Wialshy clan's military is very complex in terms of hierarchy and organization, but this clan's militia, which is commonly referred to as the Vynyzyarya, consists of roughly eighty-five per cent of the Wialshy clan's total population, and that's not including the Zwyda'ids that control the Wialshy population's militia. For that very reason, several of the military leaders within this brigade are often referred to as Rurazryins, although some would typically suggest that they also serve as Ghuyburans within the clan's government and therefore operate under the Ghuyrd's direction as they are each given responsibilities. to teach their brethren how to survive in their region and other clans like it.

Common military activities within the vynyzyarya involve several different things, including aerobic and cardiovascular exercises such as the ygbrgsa (or sprinting exercises), fyra (or jumping jacks) and even the guvyearsa (or crunches), but every couple of weeks the Wialshy clan's soldiers and their military leaders will cycle through another set of exercise that targets unaffected body parts in an attempt to make themselves stronger over time. Many of their exercises involve a lot of interpretive dancing, which also targets a variety of different body parts. Generally speaking, one can choose to apply to be a soldier in this militia.

But before apply one must have waited at least two weeks after the completion of one's own turning and transformation. After the two weeks have passed, one can apply to become a soldier and must undergo a series of obstacles about one's own various abilities, which one can discover in time if one knows how to reach one's own full potential. That being said, a lot of the obstacles that one will typically face were made by various leaders within the Wialshy clan's government and generally serve the purpose of teaching the Wialshy kin'toni how to use their newly-obtained abilities in such a way that makes them stronger.

How weapons are made in this military is predominantly shown to those that are willing to learn. Most soldiers in the Vynyzyarya are armed with a short stone blade, and a boneheaded, wooden-handled club. Most of the soldiers in the Vynyzyarya have armour that is made of the chitin of a type of giant insect that lives in the region. The light form of armour most of the Vynyzyarya's soldiers wear is called anaw'asta armour. Anaw'asta armour covers the torso, head, lower legs and lower arms only. There is a heaver form of armour that some elite soldiers wear called faa'au armour. This covers the torso, head and the whole of the legs and arms too.

Religion

When it comes to religion the Wialshy clan seem to be one of the most religious clans in the kin'tonian world, predominantly because of their unwavering optimism for the future despite a forthcoming Ice Age. Most Wialshy kin'toni believe in a religion that their ancestors created thousands of years ago; this religion, referred to as Tu'Rcauazyiu (or, as translated loosely, The Black Faith), is the official religion of the Wialshy clan, who choose to worship the shadows of themselves and other such animals within their region. Many of the Wialshians who swear their allegiance to the religion of Tu'Rcauazyiu often do so at the recommendation of their leaders within the governmental structure of the clan.

The reason for this could be that almost all of the leaders within the governmental structure that rules over the clan are, in fact, devout believers of the faith of Tu'Rcauazyiu and thus believe entirely that the shadow of things that they see in the cave when the candles are lit are the reflections of themselves as well as the entire kin'tonian race as a whole. Given that, most of the kin'toni in the Wialshy clan and region believe wholeheartedly that their shadows can either prove to be their biggest blessings or, in some cases, their biggest curses. Typically service is often integrated into a mass as well as a ceremony of their ancestors from the past.

And these once-monthly meetings take place in three separate caves believed to be the respective birthplaces of their clan's existence, especially the deepest parts of these three caves which they consider to be their ancestors' birthplace. Every month a group of Wialshians will gather in one of the three caves to venture into its deepest depths, where it is believed that the clan's historical archives are located, and usually they will spend a day in these caves to sleep after a long night of excessive praising and worship of their shadows, which seem to resemble their ancestors and all of kin'tonian history.

Five years ago the Wialshy government's leaders convened together and deliberated for what seemed like several nights and days in a small cave to determine how the clan would tell its own story, so after the leader of the Wialshy clan came out of the cave to the anticipation of the entire Wialshy population he announced that the government would like to hire scribes to write the history of the Wialshians from a religious standpoint. With many of the kin'toni agreeing to take part by becoming scribes, the tome of clay tablets containing the entire religious anthology of the Wialshy clan was eventually finished in the year 4E 25 and the clay tablets with the scriptures were transported in a mass effort to the three caves that supposedly saw the birth of the Wialshy clan, hence the extreme enthusiasm and optimism.
