History

Dynit was one of the first clans that was formed after start of the Twilight Age 450+ years ago. Once they had secured their position in the wilderness, they understood the importance of working together and thus formed an kin'toni clan. These kin'toni have strong sense of family, because since they formed their clan, the only way for them to survive was by relying on the members of their clan. Their first leader, Gureish Al’Yaman was an aggressive zu'aan whose strength and ferociousness kept the clan together.

After getting killed in a skirmish with zu'aan kin'toni hunters, his adopted son, Nakir Al’Yaman claimed his father’s position with equal ferociousness. Clan Dynit is strong, capable and well organized, but its power is fragile thanks to the tyrannical Al’Yaman family who has been ruling over Dynit clan with an iron fist for two and half centuries and that iron fist is quite literal because every leader of Dynit carries their family heirloom, a fist-shaped cudgel made from unknown iron that has the ability to multiply the wielders swing power a dozen times.

In the hands of a brutal Al’Yaman leader, that weapon is incredibly powerful. The Iron Fist is also the symbol of capital punishment because death penalty is carried out by the currently ruling Al’Yaman leader who smashes the head of the condemned with his Iron Fist. Hence whenever a Dynit is facing difficulties, they chant “By the Iron Fist”. Whenever they see a member of Al’Yaman family, they greet him or her with a raised fist over their heads.

Usually, the Al’Yaman member just ignores the person, but even receiving a curt nod to your raised fist is enough to make everybody jealous for at least a year. They worship their rules with next level enthusiasm. Not a single uprising has happened in Dynit clan so far, and its members are almost religiously afraid of their leading family. This is also thanks to the fact that every Al’Yaman leader has secured an heir for himself one way or another.

There are still rumours that a certain group of rebellious Dynits are just bidding their time to strike the leading family once the current leader dies heirless.Dynit clan does not have any internal disputes out in the open, but there are rumours that some small group of young Dynit members are planning a revolution. So far, this rumour has not been carried to the ears of the Al’Yaman, but once this happens the structural integrity of the clan could shatter.

Currently the leader of Dynit family is Usqud Al’Yaman. Normally a clan leader would have secured an heir already, but for some reason he has not been successful in bringing a turnee into this world. This has caused some disdain in the Al’Yamani family towards Usqud, but due to his size and strength, nobody has dared to say anything against him yet. But every strife lasts so long, so eventually the whole clan might get torn apart from this. Hopefully when that happens, the world will not be there to witness it.

Biology

Like every kin'toni, their eyes have dark red irises with black sclerae and horizontal slit pupils. Dynit kin'toni males are tall, muscular and extremely strong. Females are not as strong or tall as their male counterparts, but they can still kill an adult man with heir bare hands. Male heights vary between 190 to 215 cm, and females are about 10 cm shorter than their male counterparts on average. Male weight 90 to 130 kg whereas females are one fourth lighter than their male counterparts.

When these kin'toni’s mature, they get the ability to turn zu'aan for few days every year. That way they can reproduce. That turning period is usually referred as “the turning season” of these kin'toni by zu'aan scholars, but kin'toni do not experience satisfaction from reproduction. For them reproduction is just an active duty. Both males and females have light greenish skin and black or dark brown hairs. Dynits are resistant to cold to a certain degree.

They have well developed teeth with elongated fangs perfect for biting on the necks of unsuspecting zu'aan. Unlike other kin'toni, their teeth do not grow back if they are broken, so Dynit are extremely careful about their valuable teeth. Their heads are fairly small compared to the rest of their massive bodies, which could explain the fact that they are not really that smart. In fact, one could say that Dynit are the one of the simplest of the kin'toni and thereby easily fooled. Therefore, their clan has only just about one hundred members.

What they lack in intelligence they make up in sheer power. Most of the Dynits have large hands with hardened, battle-scarred knuckles ready to break even the thickest shields of the zu'aan. Their thick, greenish skin is hard to penetrate and thus negate the need for a Dynit kin'toni to wear armour. But even if they had a need for armour, their low intelligence would make it hard for them to produce any. kin'toni have really low intelligence, meaning they do not use tools apart from simple stone knives for utility or smooth stones for cracking open nuts.

They would rather use their teeth, but they are too valuable to be used on breaking nuts. So, they use their simple tools they gather from the environment. Spending time making tools is frowned upon among the tribe so they would rather be hunting their food. They drink blood from both nourishment and for celebrations. Unlike other zu'aan, they drink blood after ripping the head off their prey, be it a deer or an unfortunate zu'aan. They hate utensils and plates, so offering a glass of blood to a Dynit would end up getting you killed.

Not like you would not be killed by it anyway. So, they appreciate a good, bloody piece of raw meat over any pastry or drink you could come up with. Cooked food is unholy for them because the blood should be enjoyed fully from the source. That could also explain why their fangs are the least elongated among Kin’Toki.

Culture

As a clan full of fairly simple-minded kin'toni, they are not that concerned about their clothing or looks in general. A typical Dynit clan member does not use any other clothing but a leather loincloth. Both genders dress in the same revealing manner. For a Dynit having scars is a thing to take pride in. Therefore, exposing your body and all the scars for others to admire is a common practise among the Dynit clan. Being resistant to cold, they wear the same loincloths even during winter.

Only during the worst blizzard, a Dynit might humble enough to wear a simple hide fur, but that is only if he or she has to travel during the hailstorm. Even then fellow clan members will remind you of such a sign of weakness for the rest of your life, albeit playfully. Dynits with their dwindling numbers understand the impact of losing a clan member, so reckless suicide is never encouraged among them. As mentioned earlier, Dynits do not grow new teeth when their current one breaks.

Therefore, their teeth are extremely valuable for them. One could imagine that a broken tooth would be a valuable item for a Dynit, but reality is quite the contrary. Breaking someone’s tooth is considered as capital offense, and only murdering a fellow clan member is worse than that. A tooth breaker is punished by pulling his or her (not a single female has experienced this punishment yet) elongated fangs out and nailing them to the person’s forehead.

This brutal custom is not lethal for the one being punished, because Dynit members boast a thick skull. But the teeth will mark the kin'toni for the rest of his life and bring great shame. The reason for this is not that he broke someone’s tooth, but that a broken tooth is a cursed item for a Dynit kin'toni. It is so cursed that a Dynit kin'toni would rather eat the deadly kili plant than touch a tooth that is not in the mouth of its respective owner.

Killing another clan member means immediate capital punishment, and this method has prevented homicides in the Dynit clan really effectively. Both methods of punishment were invented by the founder Qureish Al’Yaman. Albeit being a brutal warmonger, his traditional punishments are the sole reason why such a brutal clan is still together and sharing so much among its members. Dynit clan’s survival has always depended on strong leadership and fear. Only the strong survive in this clan of violence.

Dynit clan also has war dances that they dance around fire. That is the only real reason why a Dynit would light a fire in the first place. When they dance, they go to a type of trance where they believe they can contact the souls of their ancestors. That way they believe they can get a glimpse of the afterlife where their great ancestors sit and drink blood around a huge bonfire being fuelled by the bodies of their enemies. This boosts their morale, especially before going to a battle.

Government

Being simple as they are, Dynit clan has a despotic leading family that rules over the clan with the Iron Fist. And that iron fist if quite literal because every leader of Dynit carries their family heirloom, a fist-shaped cudgel made from unknown metal that has the ability to multiply the wielders swing power a dozen times.

Currently leading Al’Yaman ruler, Usqud Al’Yaman is a behemoth of a kin'toni with full 220 cm height and the weight of an adult tiger. He has two lieutenants, named the Right foot and the Left foot and also a regent, the Left hand. Traditionally the regent is the ruler’s heir, but because Usqud has not been able to sire a child yet in his zu'aan form, his regency is taken by his brother, Takwim Al’Yaman.

Rumours tell that his brother has two sons who could replace Usqud any time he dies, but such dangerous rumours are only in the air when the Iron Fist is clutched by the sleeping Al’Yamani. They do not have elections or democracy. Everything is decided by their leader, be it good or bad. Even if their leader fails and ends up getting one third of the clan killed, they still will not blame him. And as a matter of fact, such an incident did indeed happen seven generations ago, when the ruler Galamanat Al’Yaman ended up taking his army of brawlers into an ambush.

Only their ferocity saved them from total annihilation. Even though they were defenceless and beaten, the clan’s fanatical faith in their leaders did not shake even the tiniest bit. Their first leader, Gureish Al’Yaman was an aggressive zu'aan whose strength and ferociousness kept the clan together. Once he was cut down in a skirmish with zu'aan zu'aan hunters, his adopted son, Nakir Al’Yaman claimed his father’s position with equal violent tendencies.

Clan Dynit is strong and capable, but its power is weak thanks to the tyrannical Al’Yaman family who has been ruling over Dynit clan with an iron fist for two and half centuries.

Military

Dynit clan is not extremely skilled in the art of warfare. On the other hand, they are good at individual fighting. So, one could claim that every member of the Dynit family is a soldier, but that would be simplifying already simple phenomenon. Calling Dynit clan members “brawlers” is more descriptive because they never fight under a military leader. Getting as many surface wounds as possible and breaking as many enemy teeth as they can, a fighting Dynit group is a horrible sight to behold for the untrained eyes.

An attacking group of Dynits screaming in their vulgar, ear-shattering throat gurgles is enough to break even a trained regiment of battle-hardened zu'aan soldiers.

A Dynit brawler does not use weapons when they fight. Albeit stupid, it has great effect on their own morale. Facing your enemy’s sharp, metallic weapons with your bare skin grants the Dynit a sense of superiority which makes them even more fearless and blood lusting. Not even the ruler has ever used The Iron fist in a battle.

It has been strictly kept as a tool of primitive justice. Despite their ferocious nature and the horror they lay on the battlefield, there is one surprising attribute that one would never expect from a group of half-naked savages. That is compassion. A Dynit never leave their dead in the battlefield, and severely wounded combatants are evacuated, usually by females or new turnees, to a sanctuary. As discussed before, the Dynit clan knows the value of having as many members as possible and thus they never miss an opportunity to save their kin from certain death.

Even in the military they do not have elections or democracy. Everything is decided by their despotic leader, be it wise or stupid. Even if their leader fails and ends up getting one third of the clan killed, they still will not blame him. And as above mentioned, such an incident did indeed occur seven generations ago, when the ruler Galamanat Al’Yaman ended up taking his army of brawlers into an ambush. Only their ferocity saved them from total annihilation.

Even though they were defenceless and beaten, the clan’s fanatical faith in their leaders did not shake even the tiniest bit. This explains how important strong leadership is for them.

Religion

Dynit clan does not have an organized religion, but the fanaticism they express towards the Al’Yaman family is comparable to a uniform faith. They offer a portion of their food, hunted or collected, to the ruling family and get a not-so gentle pat on their heads by the ruler himself. Their language is simple, but it still contains plenty of metaphors referring to The Iron Fist. Every family also carry a miniature version of the iron fist, made from the roots of an ancient tree.

Whenever they see a member of Al’Yaman family, they greet him or her with a raised fist over their heads. Usually, the Al’Yaman member just ignores the person, but even receiving a curt nod to your raised fist is enough to make everybody jealous for at least a year. They worship their rulers with next level enthusiasm that has no parallel in this world. For them a strong ruler is everything they need in this world, and a happy Dynit is one that always trusts his leader with blind faith.

Not a single Dynit has ever revolted against their leaders, which may seem incredible but is in fact easily explained by their violent nature. If a revolution did occur, it would shatter their entire core beliefs and cause a civil war which would destroy the entire clan. So, to avoid that they can only relay on the deterrent of violence. What they do not know is that they could get along with other kin'toni without so much hate and violence.

Some Dynit members find solace in the nature, and few older individuals claim that they can talk to the nature itself. They have only few followers and are usually referred as “tree talkers”. Albeit the ruling family does not approve this worldview, they have not taken actions to prevent it from spreading either. But it is not like this naturalistic worldview will spread anytime soon anyway. Even after being beaten in several battles due to their leader’s immature decisions, they have never faltered in their faith towards their rulers.

They worship them like any extreme fanatic would worship their god. For them strong leadership is everything one could hope for and they would give everything to protect their leaders. For a Dynit a strong leader is equivalent to an omnipotent god with an iron fist. Albeit being so simple, you can never trick a Dynit into insulting his leader. They worship their master so ferociously that if a Dynit even suspects you of something against his leader, he would kill you on the spot. But before that he would break your teeth as an offering to god.

Miscellany

Currently leading Al’Yaman ruler, Usqud Al’Yaman is a behemoth of a kin'toni with full 220 cm height and the weight of an adult tiger. He has two lieutenants, named the Right foot and the Left foot and also a regent, the Left hand. Traditionally the regent is the ruler’s heir, but because Usqud has not been able to turn anyone yet, his regency is taken by his brother, Takwim Al’Yaman. Rumours tell that his brother has two turnees who could replace Usqud any time he dies, but such dangerous rumours are only in the air when the Iron Fist is clutched by the sleeping Al’Yamani.

Some zu'aan scholars claim that once Dynit clan faces its doom, the tree talkers that are being frowned upon might gain a lot of followers or even create a new clan from the remains of the Dynit.

That way their violent culture could get a bit of pacifist touch and make communication with them easier. If something like that happened, one could wager his entire months’ worth of food that Dynit brawlers will find jobs from other kin'toni clans as bodyguards, mercenaries or even manual labourers as their physical properties are prefect for heavy work. All in all, their future does not seem bright, but on the other hand their survival is almost certain.
