Geography

Since Vor Stone Fields has gone through quite a few changes over time, the geography has not always been the same. When Vor was a mountain range, quite obviously, mountains were the dominant feature of the area. It is notable that this is the only time that Vor has ever had local plant and animal life. When there were mountains, they were covered in flora and fauna. These were green mountains and blended in quite well with the surrounding forest area. Animals made their homes high up on the mountains, and plants grew to both feed and habitat these creatures of the mountain.

When the rockslides and mudslides devastated the area, the flora and fauna of the region were wiped out entirely. The Vor landscape no longer blended in with the local area and stuck out when gazing over the landscape. When the volcano erupted, and then quite quickly exploded, the area was covered in the hot lava that used to reside in the volcano. For a while, the only geography of Vor was that it was a lava lake. Lava pooled in the crevices and holes that were made by the earthquake that first wrecked the land. Then, the rain and flooding began. This made Vor completely uninhabitable.

The lava was not the only thing that made Vor dangerous. The juxtaposing coldness of the rain turned Vor into a sauna. Steam of extreme temperatures rose high into the sky from the ground. Just walking through the surrounding areas of Vor, the heat could be felt. Pockets of pooled lava turned into highly dangerous steam shoots, where the steam created by the rain was condensed into a small area, then rose up at temperatures much higher than those of the free-floating steam. Once the lava had finally cooled, Vor began to flood. The flooding tore up the ground.

Stone and rock that had been created in the earthquake and the volcanic eruption was ripped up from the ground that it had settled in. Once the water dispersed, Vor had finally reached its current form: the stone fields. The flood had created the landscape that is now lived in by the kin’toni clan. Besides the stone and rocks that now littered the landscape, many kin’toni settlements can also be found in Vor. Stone buildings made by the Oughistor clan are common sights. Most of these stone structures are scattered throughout.

In the southern region of Vor, there is a large kin’toni settlement that is also made of stone. The Oughistor clan created the only non-disaster geographical features of the area.

Plants

Since Vor Stone Fields is mostly comprised of rock and stones, not a lot of life can be supported in the area. The environment has not adapted to support any life, and it likely never will. The kin’toni clan that inhabits the Vor Stone Fields even has a slight issue staying alive. The plant life that does manage to exist in the stone fields is minimal at best and nonexistent at worst. During what could be considered the wet months, or months when the sun is covered by clouds and the landscape isn’t quite so warm, some weeds can be seen peeking out through the cracks in the stones.

These weeds are not very substantial and offer no nutrients if consumed. On the other hand, they do not harm anything that consumes the weed; it would just be rather pointless to do so. Besides the few weeds that are scattered around the landscape, hiding in the cracks in the stone, the land is barren. No other plant life can be found in the Vor Stone Fields, and it is likely that no plant life will ever be found in the fields. The terrain is just too warm, rocky, and dry to support any plant life. The surrounding areas have plant life, however, those areas are not officially a part of the Vor Stone Fields, and will not be mentioned.

Animals

Due to a gross lack of plant life and foliage in the Vor Stone Fields, animals are not often seen there. Animals surely don’t live in the fields, either. However, sometimes, animals can be seen scurrying through the stone fields. The animals that can be seen in the stone fields are not local to the actual field, but rather the surrounding areas. They seem to be attracted to the warmth the Vor fields provide, and many creatures can be seen laying on the hot rock, bathing in the sunlight. These creatures are hunted by the kin’toni, as no creature actually lives in the Vor Stone Fields.

Despite being frequently hunted by the kin’toni clan that inhabits the area, no animal seems to be deterred from going into the fields. The chance of death is high, but the animals appear to either not care, or see sunbathing as worth the risk of being hunted by the blood-drinking Oughistor kin’toni clan. These animals have no names, as they are not local to the actual Vor area, and don’t contribute to the minimal ecosystem. Despite being a barren landscape, save a weed or rogue animal here and there, one creature has attempted to make Vor Stone Fields its permanent home.

Akith can be seen running around the stone most often. It is unclear where they live, such as if they live in cave dwellings in the Vor fields, or if they come from the surrounding areas and just enjoy scurrying around the hot stone. Since Vor Stone Fields originated as a volcano and then experienced natural disasters after natural disasters, no animals or plants have ever really gotten the chance to grow and live and establish themselves in the area. It is highly likely that they never will.
