Geography

The main entrance is mostly submerged during the day, and open up to a warren of claustrophobic, confusing and slippery tunnels. Some of these tunnels go up and lead to sheer drops along the cliffside above the main entrance, while others lead deep below the sea into blue holes just off the seaside. There are many caves that have names, including the one called the Snathi'Wyn, this is a tunnel that has a long vertical drop that starts above the water and ends many miles bellow the water. It is used as a rote out of the caves as the tunnels at the bottom of the drop lead right to the beach nearby a zu'aan city.

The Tiess usually inhabit the portions of the caves that are underwater or regularly washed by the tide, making use of naturally wide cave segments for resting or socializing. One of the caves they go to of note is called the Nere Plazwicota and is the cave used for the Ceremony of the Sea Creatures at sunset. This underwater cave is a large ovid cave made of limestone rock that is around fifty feet around and ten feet tall. It is in a very deep part of the region's cave network and is well hidden. In this cave, the clan are said to keep their valuable artifacts used for the Ceremony of the Sea Creatures.

Another cave that is important the clan is called the Terock. This cave is another deep underwater cave and it is around thirty feet around. This cave is known to have lots of coral growing in it and is important as it is the place that the eight leaders of the clan rule from. This cave has thorns carved out of coral for the eight leaders of the clan to sit own and there is always a group of military members there to stop unwanted people going into this room. In a cave beyond this cave, are stored the valuables of the clan, mostly of jewels and pearls that have been found by the clan and sealed away byound a a large stone door.

Another part of note are the caves known as the Ayd Nreva (life-places), these are the network of caves bellow the water that the clan members live in. These caves are normally very small and contain one or two kin'toni each and their belongings. The local zu'aan fishermen try to avoid the area, since the currents could easily maroon them on the sandbars or rocks that litter the sea around the caves, but a skilled navigator could see that there are some 'safe' ways between the rocks and sandbars. There is a beach that has very white sand in this region called "Qurai Anar Charor", this translates are "Star Child Beach".

Plants

Plants in this region includes a form of seaweed like plant that is known to be able to grow to over thirty feet long. Its holdfast is very large and strong to be able to cope with the strong tides that are common here. This seaweed is dark red in color with some that is even shades of brown. It has many air bladders and flotation-assisting organs. It lives on the rocky parts of the shores and is able to survive on little light for photosynthesis. It grows in number using spores and grows fast and the plants can live for over five years. This plant is very common in this region and can be found in great numbers.

The local zu'aan harvest it from the sea to eat it in soup or as sheets after drying. The local kin'toni often use the seaweed as clothing or bindings for things. Other plants include many forms of marine grasses reffed too as nrei kao (water grass) that differ from marine algae in that they have roots and leaves and produce flowers and seeds. Marine grasses provide valuable habitats to many invertebrates. Anchored by their strong root systems, the plants known as eru kao (marsh grass) in wetlands and seagrasse, known as vari kao (sea grass) in shallow water along shorelines also provide buffers against storms such as hurricanes.

There are many strange plants here, including the vari maihyah (sea vines). This is a large plant that grows on the rocks and cliffs of the region. It is able to grow around thirty feet long and an inch wide. It is a dark green plant that has bright red flowers and round leaves that are bighter green in color. It spreads its large seeds that are covered in a thick fibrous skin by letting them drop into the sea and letting the tides take them away to new lands. The bright red flowers of the plants are used to make clothing die by the local zu'aan and as face and body paint by the kin'toni. The plant's leaves are used as plates sometimes.

Another plant is a small plant that lives under the ground but for its grey truck that pokes out around three feet from the ground. This plant grows on the clifftops of the region. The ball shaped tuber of the plant that is underground is am energy store of sorts. It grows in number by spreading its roots underground and from those roots, growing a new plant. The plant is salt and needs little water to live. The plant's small flowers are pink, white or red in color. The plant takes around ten weeks to grow and can live for around a year. The plant is often planted and eaten as a food staple by the local zu'aan.

Animals

The yubix, is the largest creature in the sea of Uayata. It around thirty feet long, ten feet wide and weighs around three hundred pounds out of the water. It lives off the forms of the seaweed like plants, and vari kao (sea grass). It has skin covered with large light blue and grey scales, fins that are translucent and many eyes. It lives alone but for the mating season, in which the males gather to fight for mates. The yubix migrate a long way to get to this region as it is their breeding grounds. It has one child at a time which takes around three years to be able to look after itself and it can live for over thirty years.

It is a rare species of animal due to its low breeding rate. Another creature is a sea bear like creature known as a tubuzu, it is around nine feet tall and weighs around ninety pounds. This animal is covered with long sleek waterproof fur, but it has scaled feet and long claws on its hands and feet. It has four eyes and long pointed ears. It has long sharp canine teeth. It feeds of the seaweed like plants, and vari kao, but will eat meat if it can get it. The tubuzu lives in family groups with its mate and any cubs it might have in a den that is an underwater cave. It has a litter of three cubs at a time, in the spring.

It stays awake all year around as there is lots of food around. Another species of animal is the two-headed shark like animal commonly known as the cazyula. It is around ten feet long, five feet wide and weighs around a hundred pounds. The females are smaller in size and less bright then males. It has a long sleek body that is corved with very small light grey and blue scales that are very smooth in texture. It has large fins that are able to move it fast though the water. The males mate with any females they find and fight over females sometimes. It has around three to five young at a time by live birth.

The young grow in the body for around five weeks and take six months to be able to loom after themselves. Another species of animal are small scaled ones called eaki. These are around a foot long and weigh around a pound. They are covered in silver scales and have long fins that flow in the water. They eat the plants and some microscopic animals. The eaki lays over six hundred eggs at a time and the young take four weeks to grow to adult size. Most of the young die before being able to grow to adult size as many animals eat the eggs and young. The local zu'aan and kin'toni eat these as a common food source.
