Geography
The natural geography of the forest propitiates the life of the clan, like an impenetrable force of nature, with only one entrance actually built by the kin'toni clan. The first place on the Taelt Fungal Jungle can be called a small clearing, leading to a bigger one, filled with animal traps set by the kin'toni in order to catch any wildlife that would dare to enter said Jungle. This last clearing leads to other sections of the jungle, one that is not used by the clan, given its folklore, a place where the De's Mushroom can be found. As someone ventures further into the jungle, it is possible to realize the elevation of the ground, this is actually caused by a gas leaking from the underground of the jungle.
As the kin'toni clan never ventured underground, it is not sure if there's some sort of a cave system under it, but it is a possibility. As the type of hard mutations caused in that land can be explained by the chemical waste in the river, which would be lead to the groundwater in the earth. This elevation was used by the Dynsbur clan to build housing in the higher ground. The spring for the Kiolt river is not located within the Fungal Jungle as also the river does not die within the forest, but it becomes a lake, later on pouring out in another place.
The Fungal Jungle forest can be separated into five different sub-biomes within the fungus kingdom. In no specific order, said biomes are;
The Athora, the first biome where the entrance to the forest is possible, the mushrooms in this biome are the tallest ones, truly remembering the trees that used to be found in the jungle, the ground is normally covered in moss. The Cophyl, where the Kiolt river can be found, this piece of land is the most humid and hot within the fungal forest, it is possible to find a thick mist of white colouring around plants located in this biome, also known for its giant monstera population.
The Duxent, is the biome where the ghastly elevations can be found and the home for the Dysnbur clan. It is still possible to find trees in this bit, but they are mutated and normally are not called trees, these plants actually seem to be a hybrid between mushrooms and katoil trees, the latter can be found in other jungles around the world. This indicates the katoil tree was once native to the region. The Ribiol, the most dangerous of the five, the ground in this biome is very hard, resembling some sort of rock formation. The fungi that grow here are filled with poisonous spores, that can be released once the mushroom is hurt.
These mushrooms are actually very sensible and will release the spores at the simple touch of a small bird. The Orphen, where it is possible to find the De’s mushroom.
Plants
Within the Athore biome, it's possible to find fungus like the lehe'l. This fungus has a dark pink cap, very dark brown stalk and furry gills, known to grow as tall as 60 meters. These mushrooms are the target for a parasite plant, known as the festin. The festin is a type of fungus that grows within other plants, it can be confused by a simple plant, as it has leaves on the cap, but in reality, it is a fungus. Their stalk tends to mimic the colour of the plant they cling to, in this case, the festin stalks are in a dark pink colour, the leaves, very small almost feather like, are normally green coloured.
It is possible to see the hyphae of the festin leaving its stalk and entering the lehe'l. In the Cophyl biome, it is possible to find a plant called idomen, known to be a giant monstera, going from five to ten meters. The leaves are thick and tend to exhale a putrid smell, taking a dark turquoise colouring. Also, found in the said biome is the shoric, a very small type of white fungus found by the shores of the river Kiolt, it can be best described by its round shape, and being a food source for some animals living in the biome. Commonly found in Duxent biome is the dixile plant, actually being what could be called a carnivorous flower.
This plant can vary between eleven and twelve meters tall, its diet consists of small lizards and other animals. The plant resembles the open mouth of a lizard. A curious mushroom found in this biome is the donfri mushroom, which is the only plant in the Taelt Fungal Forest that can be found outside of it. The biquac can be found in the Ribiol biome, they can look like the inoffensive donfri mushroom, commonly found around the world and eaten by many zu'aan tribes. But this one carries within poisonous spores, known to kill a large animal within one hour of breathing the contaminated air.
Also found in ribiol is the arball flower, differently from the fungi in the Taelt Jungle, this plant actually has petals, filaments and anthers, being so, this flower is one of the reasons it is possible to find pollinating insects in the Jungle. The last biome, orphen, with a mysterious and eerie story behind it, it's home to the posive mushroom, which looks like the common red cap mushroom, but with a flat cap and dark dots all around it. The most important mushroom found in the jungle can be found in this biome, not for any chemical properties, but the folklore given to it by the kin'toni clan.
A mushroom called de's. This fungus, which normally can grow tall as seven meters, tends to move. There is no actual explanation as to why this happens, it can be given the gas underneath the land acting in the de's hyphae, but it is a real fact this mushroom can move, very slowly and in any direction, the orphen biome is sometimes also called the "living biome".
Animals
Some animals in the Taelt Fungal Forest are not exclusive to any biome within the jungle-like the plants tend to be, the food chain in Taelt is very different from other places, as smaller animals tend to be poisonous for others. Commonly found all over the jungle are;
Sufflo, a small amphibian snake, is known to live and procreate in the river but look for food outside the water. This snake has a triangular pattern on its body, very similar to another snake found in other places around the world, to stop the difference is necessary to learn the colour pattern, as the sufflo snake is red, blue and black. This snake is poisonous and venomous, as the scales on its body release a deadly liquid, when the animal finds itself in danger it will exhale said liquid, leaving behind a trail of a shining goo.
Aptula, weighing around two kilos, is the main food source for the dixile plant.
Eosirv, known to be a huge lizard with dark brown colouring, this animal eats almost anything, from toxic mushrooms to other animals. It is violent, dangerous and venomous, it's meat is baneful for zu'aan.
Orrypi, commonly found in and around the river, it's an interesting mammal. Being a herbivore it tends to feed on mushrooms like the festin, and commonly found fruits in the area, such as the komodo's fruit.
Orpomo, this animal tends to be tall as two meters, with large leathery wings and feathery antennas coming out of its head. The mouth resembles an elongated muzzle with two rows of teeth. Known to nest within the lehel' mushrooms, carving an opening cave-like in the stalk, sleeping during the day and hunting during the night.
Although this creature does not eat regularly, almost like twice a month, it is still very present in the food chain of the biome.
Found only in the Ribiol biome, the nychol creature grows to be longer than five meters, with ten small legs, a thick body, no eyes and a mouth with teeth sharp enough to dig the ground in the biome, this worm-like creature feeds on dirt, dead carcasses and excretions of other creatures. Taking a reddish colouring, the nychol leaves behind a trail of neon green goo to where it goes. But, most part of the time, it lives in the underground.
It is possible to find several smaller insects roaming the Taelt Fungal Jungle, given its humid weather, said creatures tend to prosper in the biome. Near dead carcasses, it is possible to find the ocon'ce, actually looking like a crawling vine, this insect has a hive-type mind, one singular vine is formed by around 50 singular ocon'ces, they can be separated if one ocon'ce from the hive dies, there the death occurs, the vine will break, resulting into two separated hives, it is possible for the two to combine again.
Another insect-type of creature found in this jungle is the small flying Shepl, who also thrives in hives.
