Geography
The geography of the Raysul Cold Flower Forest Hills can be analysed in two parts, the top of the hills and the bottom. The top of the hill is simpler, with a thick flowery forest covering most of it, which is nowadays covered by snow, and the settlement of the Phaigh Kin'toni Clan, a fortified village with a huge library, following the clan's urge for leaning and knowledge. Found in these hills are several clearings, to which three of them are the birthplace of the known springs, one being a cave. The nalt spring is born within a rock formation found in one of these clearings, the rocks are formed by several water crystals found in this area.
Like the borie, a dark blue sharp crystal and the zizate, a black crystal with a round shape by nature. While the zoi spring is born directly from the ground, this happens because the groundwater located in this region overflows easily with rain. In the spring the water takes a lilac colouring, because of the sweet water algae found in the underground water, by the time the water is taken to R'eness, the colouring is absent. The pil spring also comes from the ground, but, directly at the spot is a tree known as calk'lyc, this type of tree used to be very common in the hills, but it was not able to survive the freezing weather.
And the teos spring comes from inside a flooded cave, this cave has an underground lake created by heavy rain. The ceiling of this cave is actually formed by cracked crystals, similar to the ones found in the nalt spring, creating openings for the rain to come and fill the lake. By the bottom of the hills its possible to find a cave system, called iat'hi, many would believe it can be a place for tribes to thrive or be destroyed by the dangers in the shadows. Nowadays the cave system is a dangerous maze, given the iceland the place has become, many underground lakes and ponds have frozen, the same for the many mineshafts and bridges used in the past.
Some crystals such as the borie, the zizate, and the flek' glass were used in the past for jewellery making, while ores as the siet were used for weaponry making. In the cave system, it's possible to find specific sub-biomes with deposits of said products, such as the cetre for siet, the liand for flek' glass, and the nasin for zizate and borie. The zizate and borie can be found in stalactites hanging from the ceiling, creating the belief that dripping water is an important step for their formation.
Plants
The type of flora found in the Raysul Cold Flower Forest Hills tend to be similar to the R'eness Cold Flower Forest in a way, but there are some species grown in the cave systems that are native and unique to the sub-biomes found in the hills. Some similar are like the witiero a medicinal flower, with petals in a dark shade of blue, only blossoming during cold weather that still thrives in the iceland and the totomera, now extinct, this flower was used by zu'aan tribes as a source of nutrients. This flower was bigger than any others in the forest, with a thick stalk, that could be cut and eaten raw.
Plants that used to be commonly found in the cetre sub-biome but now are gone are the genit plant, known to be a vine-type of a leafy plant with very dark colouring, but with an interest shining aspect, giving an eerie green light to the biome. And the egera, similar to a monstera-type of plant, but being very small, found all over the grounds of the caves, sometimes called a grass-type of plant. In the liand sub-biome, it is possible to find the elvena, a type of underground fruit bush, that actually grows near walls to become a vine-type. The fruit of said plant, also called elvena, grows in the vine.
Being a round small berry with yellow colouring, that is the main nutrient for the diet of the urning, an animal found in the Raysul Cold Flower Forest Hills cave system. Another plant in the liand sub-biome is the encer moss, a type of sharp moss, that used to be confused with rocks, with a light pink colouring that grows on the ground and on the walls. On the nasin sub-biome, home for the zizate and borie, it's possible to find smuch all over the walls and covering the crystals, these vine-type plants tend to be as longer as 20 meters, normally found around the stalactites found in the area.
With long leaves in a light blue colour, also found in said sub-biome is the kazolu, a type of large mushroom, with yellow stalk and black cap, that can be used as medicine. Outside the cave system it is possible to find other plants, from bushes and trees, such as:
Daci'd, a tall tree known to be the most common in the forest, these trees are home to several bird species found in the hills, during the hotter months the fruit of the tree, called dacir, grows within the leaves, with a dark brown colour and a sweet taste, this fruit was used by several tribes in the past as a sweetener.
Sceop, a vegetable native from the area that grows atop the ground, with thick and big leaves, this vegetable can be found in the wild by being the main food source for the safol, a mammal that lives in the hills.
Animals
Many animals native to the hills tend to look for food outside while nesting inside the cave system, while some other animals tend to live only inside the caves, like the urning, a flying mammal, known to be the size of an adult zu'aan, but peaceful and herbivore, that lives in the liand sub-biome, feeding on the elvena fruit. Another animal that lives only inside the cave system is the chou'p, an insect known to be the pollinator for the kazolu mushroom, this insect feeds on the mushroom and the spores kept inside the chou'p stomach can be released later on by the insect.
Outside the cave system, are some animals like:
Safol, a huge furry mammal, normally weighing around 350kg, this animal spends the days outside the cave system and tends to hibernate inside the caves. Given the diet of said animal is based on sceop, a vegetable that grows atop the hills, it's necessary for the safol to leave it's housing in order to eat.
Faxid, an aquatic type of animal found in the four springs and a variation of the faxid can be found in underground lakes of the Raysul Cold Flower Forest Hills, called nocturnal faxid. The common faxid can be eaten by the zu'aan, but the nocturnal faxid has mutated to adapt to the caves, becoming poisonous for zu'aan.
Wausp, a bird known to migrate to this forest, even in the colder days. This animal is huge as being 50 meters long wing to wing, violent and with a history of attacking zu'aan tribes and kin'toni clans. The wausp nests on tall trees and are unknown the reason why the bird migrates to the forest hills. There are stories about zu'aan tribes catching the bird and having it on their diet, this includes the Kalho't tribe, the meat can be described as savoury and sour.
Stenti, this lizard-type of animal is very small, living outside and inside the caves, known to feed on mushrooms and fallen fruits, it tends to be eaten by other bigger animals. With a dark green colouring, it has a great defence mechanism as the stenti blends in very well with nature.
K'entre, commonly found atop the hills, this four-footed furry small animal tends to be very fast, there are stories about the animal being hunted by zu'aan tribes for its heavy and red coloured fur.
Omizan, a huge amphibian, weighing around 50kg, is normally found at the zoi and pil springs. There are mystic stories about this animal, telling about some zu'aan tribes believing the creature to be responsible for a good water flow, praying for said animal and worshipping it as a form of a god figure. This religion, without a name, could be found around the Raysul Cold Flower Forest Hills, but not with the Kalho't tribe nor the Galiath nor the Phaigh, instead, the folklore tell about nomadic tribes passing by the place and finding the omizan sitting by the springs. The skin of the animal is leathery and silver, which tends to be shiny in gold with the sunlight, which could be the reason for nomadic tribes to look t this creature and give it godly attributes.
