The Puvesir Autumn hills are a small region ruled by the warrior clan of kin'toni belonging to the Adon kingdom, which is a coalition of five different regions located across the Taerel. The Adon kingdom formed recently is one of the most fearsome nation of the kin'toni people, their prowess in the battlefield has meant that their renown has grown quickly. The Autumn hills are ruled by the Kaiue Kin'toni Clan whose clan members and other off shoot clans are made of kin'toni that are the most amazing swordsmen to have ever walked the lands of the Taerel.

Trained from the very beginning of their kin'toni lives, these expert swordsmen wield a variety of sword styles but the most common being one that is native to their land, the Puvesir sword pattern is one that has been inherited by the kin'toni from the Xerea Empire, for it was the pattern of the swords that were wielded by the knights of the Xerea Empire. Records show that the Puvesir pattern of sword was wielded only by the personal guard force whose responsibility it was to guard the zu'aan emperor and his kin.

The Puvesir sword is not very unique in how it appears but differs truly in its balance for the pommel of the sword is detachable and can be used as a small knife allowing the warrior to fight with sword in one hand and knife in the other, the style is difficult to learn and require deep knowledge of sword craft in order to bring forth any sort of deadliness in the fight. The sword itself is double edged and is mostly straight except for its tip which curves away towards the wielder and forms a sharp point that is particularly useful to attack opponents wit shields.

The welding of the swords of the Puvesir pattern is complex not only due to the balance of the swords but also because of heavily it leans towards offence and allows for little room for defence. The style was developed to fight off attacks on the emperor of the zu'aan empire and his family, and as such the defence of the guardsmen was not an essential objective but rather the elimination of the threat to the emperor, irrespective of how many guardsmen fell in trying to accomplish this goal.

The kin'toni warriors of the Kaiue were inspired by the many tales of the bravery and honour of the guardsmen that allowed them to save the life of their charges in impossible situations. However, the fighting style of the Kaiue kin'toni warriors is different from the style described by the accounts of the guardsmen, as the Kauie kin'toni have had centuries to train and hone their blades, not to mention countless enemies upon whom to experiment their new warfare.

The Kauie are fierce troops that are almost impossible to rout in the field of battle, but given their unique style of fighting they are unable to form soldier blocks and rather than acting as a hammer in the battle, the charge of the Kaiue is characterised more as a gust of wind. For the Kauie rush in with speed and agility and attack the weak spots in armour and shield blocks, shearing away limbs and quickly flowing away. The shield blocks adopted by the Itkali kingdoms armies faced terrible losses when they first attempted to invade their land.

Geography

The Puvesir autumn hills are adjacent to the infertile lands of the Itkali kingdom, the land just like the kingdom its shares the largest land boundary with is a land of cold and icy winters. However, it differs from most of the Itkali region in that it does not remain frozen throughout the year, although it snows in the autumn hills, the duration of the snowfall is only a few short weeks. In the summer, the air is warm and the resident kin'toni can very easily travel the outside without having to wear several layers of fur.

The name of the hills comes from the massive Xarel-Ua trees that grow in this part of the world, these trees have vast branches and thick foliage, which upon reaching autumn sheds all its leaves and paints the hills all the various hues of autumn. The Megaflora that grows here is only possible due to the warm summers and pleasant springs that allow plants to store enough reserves to last them through the harsh winter and autumn. The animals that live within the hill have contributes significantly in making these lands habitable.

Working the tough soil into one that is not only nutritious but also conducive to the growth of plants, a particular mention must be made of the anrel-aks found in the autumn hills. Their damning of the rivers that cut across the region has allowed many animals to make their homes within the region, and they have in turn lent their bodies in the propagation of plant life here. The recent century has had a negative effect on the gentle spring of the area, for as the ice glaciers spread southwards every year, the spring of the autumn hills becomes ever shorter while the winters become harsher and longer.

The effect is not perhaps visible for those who are new to the region but the Kauie kin'toni warriors who live so closely with the nature and the animals that depend upon the land are able to observe how fewer plants bloom in the spring now, and how many an animal are faced to brave the winter cold due to their inability of storing enough food stores prior to the beginning of the season. This slow deterioration of their homeland is thought to have caused them to speed up the political alignment with the other clans that form the Adon Kingdom.

For it may be possible that within a few short centuries some of the members of the clan may need to relocate and allies at such a time would be beneficial. The Adon kingdom does not set a lot of store in the holding of land they understand that with enough numbers and the right preparation it is possible to conquer more land collectively. In anticipation of the needs of the future, the Adon, led in this decade by the Kauie are conducting campaigns against neighbouring nations to slice away portions of land with the eventual goal of being connected by land.

The Daera and Kauie are the primary contributors to the Adon armies and are aided by the highly specialised warrior clans of 3 other regions besides.

Plants

As mentioned earlier, the Autumn hills are named due to the appearance of the hills during the autumn months when the massive xarel-ua trees found all through the region shed their leaves as they turn a dark maple colour. They are however by no means the only plants that grow here, but the Kauie have been practising a unique technique of plant cultivation that has allowed for the formation of mega flora in the region, most observable by not only the size of the animals found in the autumn hills but by the size of the trees.

The Kauie initiates are required to uproot all plants that are found to have risen out of the ground beneath the canopy of the Xarel-Ua trees, these uproot plants must be shredded and cut up into the smallest of pieces an exercise that allows the kin'toni warrior initiates to build muscle and understand the strength of their arms. Once the uprooted pants are cut up enough to be turned into become as close to powder as possible, they are dispersed on the ground directly beneath the canopy of the xarel-ua tree.

Or for that matter any other plant from whose base the plants has been collected for the method is not exclusively used for the xarel-ua trees only. This process has allowed the soils in the region to undergo a process the zu'aan of the Xerea Empire called Carbon Sequestration, which allows the concentration of carbon within the soil and thereby allows not only for more moisture to be retained by the soil but also allows the plants close to whom the dirt is stored to gain access to a large amount of macro as well as micro nutrients.

This unique process that was discovered by the Kauie warriors accidentally means that the plants in the region are able to exceed the sizes they would have been limited in a traditional forest due to the level of completion for resources exerted by other plants that grow close to them. The growth of this mega flora has had a similar effect on the fauna of the region for the size of the animals that they are able to grow upto is severely different from the animals of the same species in other regions.

The primary example of this is etal-lak found in the autumn hills which feed on the fallen branches of the xarel-ua tree. The effect the Kauie have had on their surroundings is surprising and many a scholars have travelled to their homeland to observe their practices, however due to the long centuries the Kauie have followed these practices, the same effects have not yet been reproduced in other parts of the Taerel by the scholars that have tried to do so. The kin'toni warriors never carried out their practice in order to effect a change in their environmen.

They had only meant to try and find a task for the initiates that were over eager to join their ranks, the purpose of the practice had been to provide dreary work that would root out those that were not capable of quiet and diligent work for that is what is require of those that wish to be a warrior kin'toni of the Kauie clan.

Animals

The fauna found in the autumn hills has been effected by the growth of large trees and plants, and in an order to seemingly maintain a level of relative size, the population of animals has although slightly decreased, the size of the animals has grown considerably. The most important species found in the region are the anrel-aks and domesticated nala-ytrels. Beginning with the anrel-aks, which are nearly four times of anrel-aks found in other parts of the Taerel, they are essential to the ecosystem of the Autumn hills, for in their habit of felling old weakened xarel-ua trees/

They are able to create room for new trees that grow better and utilise the resource of nature more efficiently. The anrel-aks use the felled trees to dam rivers and tributaries of rivers that cut through the autumn hills, by doing so they are able to create large ponds that are used by the whole forest as nuclei of life. The ponds are where several migrating birds stop to rest and recover as they make their way from remote locations of the Taerel over their vast network of flyways. The anrel-aks an important prey base for the domesticated nala-ytrels the Kauie keep here in the autumn hills.

The primary base on the other hand for the Kauie clan is the etal-lak, whose large herds roam the hills, majestic in frame their stampede is a sight to behold and many a kin'toni would themselves terrified if they were required to brave the might of a charging herd of etal-lak. They provide lots of nutritious blood to the Kauie in each feeding, and are able to recuperate quickly, but it is a challenge to secure one for feeding. The challenge lies not only in their size which is considerable but also in their large and pointed antlers/.

Being struck by the antlers is not a pleasant experience and it can take a kin'toni several difficult weeks to recover completely from such wounds. Additionally the killing of an etal-lak outright is considered to be the mark of a weak hunter and so many kin'toni warriors generally choose to attack the largest and healthiest appearing etal-lak in order to prevent one from dying accidentally due to the strain of the feeding. Lastly, the Kauie keep a domesticated nala-ytrel as pets, these animals are a perfect embodiement of the ideals that their culture holds so dearly.

The domesticated nala-ytrels are loyal to the point of self sacrifice, they are brave and unflinching in the defence of those they consider to be their family and are wily and resourceful in a fight. The presence of the domesticated nala-ytrels makes the kin'toni of the region to fall among the select clans that go to war in tandem with their pets. The nala-ytrels have proven to be excellent aides to the battles of the Kauie, their understanding of the tactics of battle has been a gradual process that has involved a lot of patience on the part of the Kauie.
