Taerel Wiki – Terms of Service
Last updated: June 24, 2026
By accessing or contributing to the Taerel Worldbuilding Wiki ("Taerel", "this site", or "the project"), you agree to abide by the following Terms of Service.
1. Ownership and Intellectual Property
All content on the Taerel Wiki is protected under All Rights Reserved unless otherwise explicitly stated. This includes but is not limited to:
- Lore articles, character descriptions, maps, and timelines.
- Custom formatting, UI design, CSS code/themes, and all wiki templates.
- Page structure, naming conventions, and categorization systems.
Each article is the intellectual property of its original author. Copying or adapting any content from the wiki — including in derivative works, videos, games, fan wikis, or AI training datasets — is strictly prohibited without the express written consent of the original author and the project administrators.
2. Use of Visual Style and Branding
The color schemes, layout structure, typography, and visual design of the Taerel Wiki are considered part of the project's unique visual identity. This includes both light and night mode variants. You may not copy, reuse, or closely imitate this visual style, even if hosted separately, without explicit permission from project administrators.
3. Contributions and Publishing
By contributing content to the wiki, you agree that:
- You are the original author of the work submitted or have permission to publish it.
- You retain full copyright to your individual contributions; however, in consideration for payment or project participation, you grant the Taerel Wiki an exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, sub-licensable license to publish, display, and distribute your content for the purpose of the project.
- The license granted is exclusive; you may not republish, distribute, or display your contributions on any other platform, personal site, or competing project without express written administrative approval.
- Ratification of Past Contributions: Notwithstanding the actual date of your first contribution, the terms and conditions of this Agreement shall be deemed to have commenced and be effective as of the date of your initial submission. All rights, obligations, and actions taken by either party in connection with this project prior to the date of this update are hereby ratified, confirmed, and incorporated into this Agreement.
- Irrevocability of License: The license granted herein is irrevocable. Once content is submitted to the Taerel Wiki, the contributor acknowledges that the rights granted to the project are permanent and cannot be withdrawn, rescinded, or terminated, even in the event of an account closure, a departure from the project, or a cessation of future contributions. This irrevocability applies to all past and future contributions, serving as a material condition for participation in the project.
- No Forking Policy: The Taerel Wiki is a unified, closed project. Forking or replicating the site’s structure, collection of articles, or proprietary database to create a separate version of the project is strictly prohibited, regardless of your authorship status regarding specific content.
4. Derivative Works and Independent Settings
Taerel is a proprietary intellectual property. To protect the integrity of the worldbuilding, the following rules apply to derivative content:
- No Unauthorized Derivative Projects: You may not create "alternative," "fan-made," or "forked" wikis using the Taerel name or its proprietary terminology (e.g., kin'toni, zu'aan, The Shattering, Xerea Empire, Goya Mesa).
- Independent Work: If you wish to create a project inspired by Taerel, it must be an entirely independent setting. You must change all names, locations, and specific historical events originating from the Taerel Wiki.
- Author Rights: While an author retains the rights to their specific prose, they may not use that prose to launch a competing or "alternate" Taerel-branded project.
5. Enforcement and Violations
Violating these terms, particularly regarding unauthorized use of lore, forking, or branding, may result in:
- Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) takedown notices.
- Permanent bans from the official platform(s).
- Reporting to applicable hosting providers (e.g., Miraheze, Fandom, Discord).
- Legal action in cases of willful infringement, breach of contract, or project replication.
6. Contact
For permissions, licensing inquiries, or to report violations of these terms, contact the administrators via:
- Stevie Lambert (Eytirth) on Discord
