Geography

It is possible to count up to twenty-one hills in the Xawir-alt Autumn Taiga Hills. They can easily be spotted and described with specific names, which are believed to be created long ago, but prevailed. These names had been used for years to help lost wanderers to explore the hills. Nowadays they are used by the Osdel Kin'toni Clan to mark their lands. As it is known for the clan, they divide themselves into smaller groups, making housing in carved caves inside the hills. All these groups have their own names and ways of ruling themselves, yet they do fall under the rule of the Osdel Clan.

The hills are known to have kin'toni living in them are:

The Qualaga Hill, easily spotted for being the tallest hill, but with fewer trees, it is the hill chosen by the leader of the clan to live in.

The Aurion Hill, this hill can be spotted and it used to be marked on maps by its very easily recognizable formation, remembering the side of the head of a horse, the name "aurion" actually comes from the word "horse" in an old language.

The Eboari Hill. The word "eboari" comes from the word "bunny", as the hill can be spotted by its two elongated rock formations right atop it, remembering the ears of a bunny. It is in the Eboari Hill that a group of the Osdel Kin'toni Clan known to be anarchists within their own organization lives. Of course, as all groups do, they still answer to the ruler of the Osdel Clan.

The Fyllea Hills, being the smaller hills located in the region, are different from the others, these hills are the accumulation of several small peaks into one only formation. The group living inside these hills are known to be the first ones, within the Osdel Kin'toni Clan, to use wooden structures to hold up their home.

The Nargin Hill, is known for its history before the clan arrived at the place. This formation resembles the face of a child right atop of it, this fact created several urban legends and horror stories about the legend, some still believed up to this day. The group living on the hill is aware of it, but they do not believe in the ghost stories about the haunted hills.

The last hill located in the Xawir-ald Autumn Taiga Hills is called the Sourif Hill, effortlessly spotted against the other hills, this one is actually known to be a deposit of a mineral called jaenis. Not being the home for any group of kin'toni, as the stones are too hard to be carved. The jaenis mineral used to be mined before the kin'toni outbreak, as it could be burned to produce light, lasting for days without end, not like wood or oil.

The Sourif can be spotted for its colour, while the rest of the Xawir-alt Autumn Taiga Hills takes a deep colouring of oranges and reds, the mineral gives this specific hill a strong dark shade of green.

There are two last hills to talk about in the region, not occupied by the kin'toni, but worth mentioning:

The last two known hills to talk about in the region are the twin peaks Whorlor and Suaini, named after the gods that used to be worshipped in the region. The hills were chosen because of the position of the sun, while the star is born coming from behind the Suaini Hill, it dies, giving space for the night, behind the Whorlor Hill. These names are still used these days, even by the Osdel Kin'toni Clan, as they can navigate in the biome following this concept.

Plants

The plants located in the Xawir-ald Autumn Taiga Hills are:

The kotram, a type of ground plant, is normally confused with "common grass." It is actually one of the responsible for the deep orange colouring of the hills, as the short blades of the plant take in the bronze shade. It is believed the plant takes this hue from the underground waters in the region, which is probably tainted with some mineral orange colour. This theory was actually created years before the kin'toni outbreak, but it was left untouched after it. No one can be sure if the hills do take the Autumn colours because of it or not, as the only really known mineral in the region is the green jaenis.

The mathrea is one of the types of taiga woods located in the biome. This is the wood normally used by the groups of the Osdel Kin'toni Clan in the building of their homes. While the enormat wood is the type used for tools and weapons. The mathrea is a more strong and durable wood, while the enormat is more maleable. The clan tends to share their knowledge of the usage of the plants in the region, this resulted in the common usage of the vartiot, which grows near natural caves and bodies of water in the biome. The vartiot takes a deep red colouring and grows with large soft blades, that can be mushed and drained for its liquid. The liquid then can be used to make the enormat and the mathrea wood almost waterproof.

Another plant commonly used by the clan is the cybari. This flower grows with an orange shade during the fall and a red shade during all the other seasons, it is possible to dry and crush its leaves, and boil them in water, therefore making tea. The clan believes this tea is able to cure almost every wound and disease known to man. While the hills were occupied by zu'aan tribes, a lot of the plants found in the region were used by these tribes in their costumes and culinary, being so, their diet was mostly plant-based, as the biome offers an amazing quantity of plants, nowadays ignored by the Osdel Kin'toni Clan.

Some of these plants were like the melop, a round fruit, with a orange skin and pink insides. This fruit was eaten raw by the zu'aan tribes, and it was known to be a very common part of their diet. Another plant is the sahety, which was used by the tribes for a variety of reasons. As the stalk cold be boiled and eaten with soups, and the leaves of the plant could be turned into threads and ropes. One of the zu'aan tribes to live in the region tended to use the ropes from the sahety plant in their religious events, as such decoration for their clothing.

Other traditional plant from the region is the sillus, known to be an underground vegetable, the sillus was normally eaten during winter, as it reached maturity in that season, with a tangy and sour taste, that could be mixed with other plants and even meats after roasted.

Animals

It is possible to organize the animals found in the Xawir-alt Autumn Taiga Hills into two categories, carnivores and herbivores. In the herbivores category we have;

The unawe, is a rodent type of creature, that normally weighs around 100 kilos, this creature is peaceful and tends to live around bodies of water. Covered in thick fur, the creature was once tamed by the zu'aan and kept as a house pet.

The phear, is a very small bird type of creature. While the male has a very colourful pattern in the wings, used to attract the female. Commonly the phear is a type of bird that mates for life, choosing one singular partner once they reach bird adulthood.

The deatch is a four-footed furry mammal, weighting around 400 kilos and eating simply leaves and fruits, the milk of the creature used to be part of the diet of zu'aan tribes in the region.

Another rodent found in the region is the dombil, this creature is very small and long, it was normally ignored by the zu'aan, but nowadays it is one of the favourite meals of some groups of the Osdel Kin'toni Clan. As the creature favours underground life and digs its own holes, it is common for a group of kin'toni to find the creature lurking in holes inside their houses. As for the carnivores creatures found in the region, there are several, like:

Uvulvi, which is a large creature, weighing around 400 kilos, is known to be at the top of the food chain of the Xawir-alt Autumn Taiga Hills, losing only to the kin'toni clan. This is because the Osdel Kin'toni Clan tends to favour feeding on the uvulvi blood when they can't find humans nearby. While the dombil is seeing as a simple snack, something that wanders into their path, the uvulvi is a moment for the hunt for the groups. They get together, track down the animal in the woods and attack it, sharing its blood.

The whorlor is known for its symbolism behind it, given by the zu'aan tribes to exist in the land. The furry four-footed mammal weighs around 200 kilos, and its fur can vary in colour, going from dark shades of grey to pure black. For the zu'aan tribes, the darker the fur of the creature, the more blessed the creature was. As the legend goes, the whorlor gets its name from a god, known to be the god of the night, the protector of the sleep and the safety of the home. A tradition with some tribes was to hunt down the creature and use its fur and pelt as blankets to survive the colder seasons, thanking the god for its cover from the harsh weather.

While the whorlor takes its name from the god of night, the suaini takes its name from the god of day. This carnivorous bird of prey creature tends to weigh around 100 kilos, with dark golden feathers covering its whole body and a crown of yellow feathers on its head. The beak of the creature takes a shade of yellow that is almost white.

While zu'aan would hunt the whorlor for its pelt, they would hunt the suaini for its feathers, using it to adorn their windows and doors, claiming it was the light of the sun coming to warm their days.
