Geography
The bottom of the Roeghough Overgrown Spires has become its own biome with time, while the top of the land reminds a dry land, the bottom is almost a humid tropical forest, with complex biodiversity along a river that empties into the ocean. This river was once an underground body of water, but with the earthquake activity, it became an open river. The bottom of the ravine is larger than the opening at the top, meaning the sun doesn't reach completely inside of it, making the bottom perfect for the Taem Kin'toni Clan to settle. They do have two ways of getting off the ravine, by two stairs carved into the stones of each wall.
These stairs were already there when the clan arrived, they only had to be careful and make them safe enough for them to get up or down. Given the time it takes for someone to go up or down those stairs, the clan could not let their members simply rest under the open sky, for the fear of the sun. So the clan carefully built resting zones within the stone, small and convenient places rooms carved into the walls. Nowadays it is very rare for a clan member to go up the mountain, as they thrive at the bottom of the ravine. The Taem Kin'toni Clan built their city in a clearing they made themselves.
Using the wood for the buildings and taking the natural structure of the spires as the base of their homes. The clan was able to carve inside the spires, given how big they are, and turn these caves into a real growing city for them. For the size of the clan, it was not needed to use more than one spire for their city, as it spread on the ground as well. During the nights they will have an active social life outside the spires, and during the day the clan will rest in their houses, completely hidden by the little sunlight inside the ravine.
The pathway to the part inside the ravine, is open, with several clean and well-adorned hallways, the clan carved levels, the first one being the entrance, with a large pathway filled with open rooms for socializing, the second level can be taken by a large stairwell by the end of this pathway, that unfolds into several smaller paths, leading to houses and the entrance for other levels. While their spire is only used for housing, the outside part of the city is used for socializing and workstations. The clan tends to build a lot using the wood in the region and the stone they mine from caves nearby in the walls of the ravine.
Plants
The biodiversity of the Roeghough Overgrown Spires shows itself in the flora of the region, mostly at the bottom of the ravine. Most of the ground is covered by a grass-type plant called feidne, which takes a light green colouring, almost yellow, given as the plants had to adapt and grow to less sunlight, resulting in less production of chlorophyll. And a moss-type plant called wothe. This moss covers part of the ground as well as most of the tree trunks in the area. As a fast-spreading plant, the Taem Kin'toni Clan tends to use it inside their homes in the spire, for its soft touch, and inside many buildings they have.
The moss is also used as one of the layers of their ceilings. Another ground-level plant in the biome is the embrasy, a plague for their land, this plant has hard and long blades with a darker colour than the feidne. The clan harvest the embrasy, turning it into threads that can be turned into ropes and a strong structure for their buildings, mostly for the ceilings. As for the trees, there are two types of trees that are important for the clan in the biome, the first being the cymble, which is the one mostly used by the clan in the construction of their buildings.
The clan worries about the amount of cymble in their land, so they tend to replant every cymble they cut down outside their clearing. With a strong dark wood, the cymble is used to reinforce their houses inside the spires, to give structure to the walls of their buildings and to create furniture. The other tree, called raflee, is mostly used for furniture combined with the cymble, but the raflee is their first choice for furniture and day to day instruments. The raflee produces a more malleable wood than the cymble. Together with the cymble structures to create their ceilings.
The clan also uses lymetic, a huge plant with longe blades, commonly growing in the walls of the ravine. The clan threads these blades with the rope created from the embrasy, making fortified layers, that are then covered with moss. The last plant used by the clan in their ceilings is the impese, which grows on the ground, around the walls of the ravine and outside the spires. This is the first layer they put atop the wooden structures, as the impese grows in hard trusses, looking like spider webs, ready from nature for them to utilise.
With time, some plants started to grow inside their spire as well, given their moss flooring, some of these plants are like the zoatib, a flower with thick roots and stalk. The flower has a deep blue clouring, and the stalk is actually used by the clan as medicine, as it is possible to cut it in big chunks, boil it with water and eat said chunks for health improvements in general. Inside their spire is also possible to find the geornor, a type of white-cap mushroom, with a dark stalk, that glows in the dark. The clan tends to take and replant these mushrooms in pots and use them inside their houses as light.
Animals
Most of the animals located at the bottom of the Roeghough Overgrown Spires tend to avoid the kin'toni clan, as the clan hunts them for their blood or pelts. One of the creatures hunted down by the clan for its blood is the mammal called cagual. This creature wights around 500 kilos, and it is normally trapped instead of hunted. The clan is very well skilled with trapping methods, and the cagual doesn't escape from them. The creature is covered with thick black leather and almost no fur, but the clan members tend to say the blood of the creature is even better than zu'aan blood.
The Taem Kin'toni Clan doesn't waste the meat and other products from the creature, commonly the leather is used for clothing or other items, and even weaponry making. The meat is used as bait for other creatures. Like the orbone, which is actually hunted down for its fur. The weather at the bottom of the ravine is similar to a tropical forest, but with a twist, with less sunlight than a regular tropical forest, the weather goes down to the point of almost freezing the river and the kin'toni clan during some seasons. Therefore, they have a need for warm housing and clothing.
As they use the moss plant for the ground of their houses, they use the fabric made from the fur of the orbone as tapestry and bedsheets. The orbone is a creature that was tamed by the clan, weighting around 400 kilos, and they keep it as cattle. As the creature's fur grows fastly, they are able to shave the adult animals' fur and turn it into the fabric, is this activity, one of the most important jobs a clan member can take. It is actually a common activity for some members of the clan to gather around a weaver and spend the day making their company, talking and sharing ideas, even helping a bit.
Another creature commonly found in the region is the lortat, a big type of bird, always flying in groups, and resting during the nights. The clan tends to trap the bird to pluck its feathers, as they are abnormally large, and use it in their homes. For their communal buildings, the Taem Kin'toni Clan tends to use the leather of the klantir, a long mammal with dark colouring that rests atop trees during the nights, weighting around 200 kilos.
