==Geography==

To the north of the islands is the unforgiving and turbulent Banator Ocean. The waters here are warm, but tropical storms tend to wipe out any ship or vessel that dares venture too deep into this waters. Myths tell of roaming sea monsters and dreadful mermaids, but everyone knows seaman love to tell tall tales. The Banator Ocean was once considered sacred and revered by the kin’toni of the northern isles, but this cult has since fallen into disuse, possibly because of the lack of recent tsunamis that show the power of the northern seas.

As such, the stories of the past grow dim, but one can never know when the next tsunami can actually strike. A few elders which still remember the days of yore keep the cult alive, but few listen to them. In any case, it is dubious at best that such superstitions can do anything to actually prevent the eventual disaster. Some hundreds of kilometers to the east is the subcontinent of Parmen. Some traders come from Parmen, but only rarely, since the subcontinent is already rich in resources, and few dare make the dangerous trip to the island, which is only risked because of their exotic goods.

Those that do come, try to trade without getting off their boats, as touching the “sacred” land of the eastern beaches by outsiders is considered taboo by the eastern-dwelling kin’toni. Sometimes greedy traders and explorers try to disembark to get some rare Yeesaw Coconuts, but more often than not these people are captured and eaten by the ravenous Dynit clan. To the south of the isles is the Preunt Desert. This desert is nearly devoid of vegetable life, and indeed, of life at all. The density of species living there is so low that it is hard for anyone to survive crossing it.

Some call it the “Oceans of Sand”, and traversing it is actually more hopeless than traversing an actual ocean. Nobody in the isles knows what is south of Preunt, and some actually believe the desert to be literally endless, stretching to infinity. Of course, this is basically due to ignorance, but the mere existence of such stories should give pause to anyone who doubts the geographic vastness of the place. West of the isles are the Zarami seas. These seas are the same the zu’aan invaders crossed many moons ago. Beyond these seas lie the Pivand Cities.

Hubs of innovation and places of wonder (at least, according to those that came from them originally). Some of the zu’aan that came with the expedition still live on as turned kin’toni. There is a question most of them won’t answer, though, and it is that if the Pivand Cities are so marvelous, “then why did they leave?”… this seems to be a sort of taboo topic amongst the travelers, as most questions are answers or some fake story made up on the spot.

==Plants==

Plant life in the Yeesaw White Beach is generally varied and lush, although several wars in the past have devastated some patches of vegetation, leaving only burned trunks and calcified remains. However, the great extensions of the beaches means that only a dedicated and continued effort would be able to destroy the plants of the coast –effort that doesn’t have any reason to happen, and so far hasn’t occurred.

* Tramantos Algae: The tramantos algae are a race of ocean dwelling, single-celled organisms. They are endlessly curious, and always eager to learn. They are capable of forming the most intricate societies, though their individual lives are short. They are capable of capturing and retaining information for long periods of time. Occasionally, a strange phenomenon occurs where a single cell, known as a "quabmp", can become an entity in its own right. Due to the microscopic nature of these creatures, sadly, no other race in Taerel knows of their intelligence.

* Belzer: These plants have been living on the island for centuries. However, due to their small size, they are unable to grow much further than a few feet above sea level. In order to survive, they must constantly move about in search of food sources and water supplies. Their bodies are covered with thick green scales that provide them protection from the elements. They communicate through a series of squeaks and chirps, which is used to coordinate their movements.

* Volger Grapes: These grapes were planted by a group of farmers who lived on the island years ago. Since then, they have grown into vines overgrown with leaves and flowers. This species has developed many different varieties, but all share one thing in common: they produce fruit that tastes terrible when eaten raw. It's only after being dried and cured that it becomes edible.

* Pachonsos: These bushes are unique to the Yesay White Beach. They grow berries that shine in a dazzling array of colour. The berries are very sour to the taste, which means that they're not fit to be eaten. However, they can be used to create dyes with vivid hues.

* Alkoral: These plants were brought over from Lumberg by some settlers who wanted to grow them as a hobby. They bear fruit all year round, which means that they grow more than they can eat. As a result, they've been trading them with other islanders in exchange for other goods.

* Tagen: These sponges are used for cleaning and scrubbing. They are very durable and can last for decades.

* Akora: These trees have been cultivated over the years to provide useful resources. It's thin and tough, and is often dried and burned as a source of fuel. Akora trees grow in large patches, and some islands are entirely covered by it.

Many other plants exist and thrive in the deep, but they aren’t normally seen or consumed by either zu’aan or kin’toni. Only the fish of the sea know of such plants, or mysterious races that according to legend live unknown in the ocean.

==Animals==

The animals of the Yesaw White Beach may not be the biggest or the strongest, but they are widely considered amongst the most beautiful. Often they have nacre shells or wings, which reflect the sunlight into an array of dazzling colors. Here are some of the most notable animals that can be found within the biome:

* Panobator: The panobator is a race of crustaceans that inhabit the depths of the ocean. Unlike the more commonly known variety, they do not appear to possess a true exoskeleton; rather, they are wrapped in a warm, silky membrane. These creatures are extremely strong, and their powerful legs can propel them through the water at speeds approaching that of swimming. They're a race of very physically gifted individuals who all share a single giant claw on each limb. This claw is capable of tearing apart most enemies that dare to attack their home.

* Pilinas norka: The pilinas are a race of small, cute, but very rare beach creatures. They are very shy, and prefer to have their genitalia covered. They are very caring parents, and will go out of their way to protect their young. They go through a molting process at regular intervals, and are very vulnerable. They are able to go without food for extended periods of time and even carry large amounts of water in their mouths. They are aggressive creatures and will attack anything that intrudes on their territory. They are larger than your average norka and are more intelligent, swiftly discovering any intruders and making their presence known.

* Kavakxa: These winged insects have veins that carry a thick, golden yellow sap. This sap, called 'kkaa', is used to create medicine for their own species and for other purposes. They have a wingspan of 2.5-3.0 cm, and heights varying from barely noticeable to very elongate. Their bodies are very dense, and they have a hard time flying; as such, they typically use winds to aid their flight. They are named after a famous scholar from the time of the founding of the kin’toni settlements, an individual whose work was instrumental in the founding of the city and the discovery of the kkaa resource.

* Diashris: The diashris of the West are a small, bright dog-like race native to the island of Yehappi, though they have since expanded to other coastal territories. They are an extremely territorial and brave race, and are often found in the company of others of their kind. They are also known to be fierce warriors, and have a great affinity for the element of water. They often travel in packs of up to 20.

* Baniatore: The baniatore is a sea urchin-like lifedorm who lives in the deep, dark waters off the Yesaw White Beach. They are quite literally scaly creatures, with each individual having a shell that is unique to them, and that can grow to be quite large. These baniatore usually stay out of the way, hiding in the depths of the water, but if they feel that they are being threatened, they can release into the water a horrible stench that is sure to make anything that breathes that to stay away.

* Vocci: The vocci are a race of flat fish-like creatures. They are a peaceful species who have lived in the waters of Yesaw White Beach for centuries. They are an integral part of the ecosystem of the area, and are known for their incredible talents in hunting plankton, tracking it, and eating microscopic detritus. They are also known for their incredible beauty, which is due to a combination of their great physiology and the fact that they can change the color of their skin to match the color of their surroundings.
