==Geography==

The Xehemiech highlands were composed of a series of many rolling hills and mountains. The terrain was particularly green in most spots with grasslands and forests dotting the entire countryside. The presence of these vast reserves of wood helped the zu'aan carry out their construction activities and helped them build up their settlements in the region. Most of the construction in the region was done in wood in for a long time before the zu'aan finally learnt to manipulate other resources like stone and clay.

The landscape was dotted with many stone and rock formations that were the product of volcanic activity from thousands of years ago. These would become a resource for the zu'aan's construction activities later on. Two major rivers passed through the region and met in a spot that would become the spot for the zu'aan city of Lafinng. This city was the main concentration of zu'aan in the region and was regularly visited by different zu'aan from many other regions for purposes that included trade and cultural and educational exchanges.

The river facilitated easy travel throughout the entire region and helped the zu’aan access other settlements that were built along the banks. The banks of these rivers were also conducive to agriculture and would become the spot for most of the cultivation activity of the zu'aan’s in the region. The soil here was particularly fertile and helped the zu'aan settlements of the region to become self-sustainable places in terms of food supply. They also regularly produced a surplus of food that they could afford to trade with other zu'aan clans from outside the region.

This was facilitated by the construction of many roads throughout the region, just before the kin'toni outbreak began. The Xehemiech region was particularly wet and experienced heavy rainfall for most parts of the year. Temperatures were at a temperate level but would occasionally drop to freezing levels. The region experienced three distinct seasons in a year. The first was the summer season when temperatures could reach up to the mid-twenties. Most of the zu'aan crops would be grown during this season.

Rainfall was not as regular during this period and the skies would be sunny for most of the days. The days were longer and led to more productivity for the zu'aan clans in the region. This was followed by the monsoon season when the region experienced most of its rainfall. The region would begin to experience consecutive days of cloudy weather and rainfall that would lead to stronger river currents and higher water levels. The natural light of the region would decrease as a result of the constantly cloudy skies. This drab and dreary atmosphere would continue into the winter but the weather would by much drier.

Temperatures would reach freezing levels occasionally and the cold was largely exaggerated by the winds that blew across the entire region along with the dank conditions. Snowfall would also occur occasionally for several days during the coldest days of winter but would not last for very long. They would thaw out just as quickly and the weather would begin to rapidly get warmer.

==Plants==

The Xehemiech highlands were covered in vegetation that included the tall and grasses that covered most of the rolling hills and plains along with coniferous and a few deciduous trees. The river banks were covered in crops that were planted by the zu'aan for their consumption and relied on the water and fertile soil brought in by the rivers for a successful yield. The region had many forests and an abundant supply of wood resources which in turn allowed the zu'aan clans of the region to build up and advance quickly.

Some of the most famous trees in the region included the samdantia tree that was famous for its yearly bloom, the quaim- which was a more common variety of coniferous tree in the highlands, the enth'voro- a water intensive crop of the zu'aan and the itcera grasses that covered most of the rolling hills and exposed soil in the mountains. The samdantia was a deciduous tree of the region that could grow to a maximum height of almost twenty meters. This tree produced a very durable wood and had very small leaves that would change colors as the season progressed.

This meant that its leaves started off as a healthy green that would slowly change to a light yellow and eventually to a red before it fell off. The tree would bloom during the winters when it would produce millions of tiny white flowering buds that would turn the tree white. It was commonly associated with many religious beliefs and a symbol of peace. The quaim was the most commonly found variety of tree in the region. The Xehemiech highlands had many forests that were entirely composed of these kinds of coniferous tree and provided the locals of the region with plenty of wood for their construction activities.

The tree was very plain and looked like any other coniferous tree whit a maximum height of over twenty meters. The enth'voro was a crop that the zu'aan grew around the banks of the rivers. It had a distinctive green color with red tops at the end of their stalks that could grow to a height of over ten feet. It was a very water intensive crop that produced several corn-like seeds that were harvested before the onset of winter. These seeds could either be eaten as it was or grinded into flour that fed the entire zu'aan population of the region and was even exported as a popular trade item.

The Itcera was a common type of grass that covered most of the ground in the highlands they came up to waist height and were known for their graceful swaying motion in the wind. The grass had very fragrant properties and was often processed and turned into fragrant perfumes by the chemists of the region. It was most popular among the nobles and young lovers because of its distinctive smell. The flower had a very common look and were colored a dark green.

==Animals==

The Xehemiech highland region was home to a wide variety of wildlife that ranged from simple herbivores to predators that lived deep within the dark forests of the region. The wildlife was very essential for the zu'aan of the region who regularly domesticated and used them to help with their cultivation or as beasts of burden for their trade caravans. The most commonly found animals in the region included the en-leress- the most commonly domesticated animal in the highlands, the tin'sam- a type of poultry, the issmroth - that were wily scavenging animals and the rodrany.

The en-leress was one of the most popular animals in the highlands because they were easily domesticated and had a lot of utility for the zu'aan in the region. It could be used to till the lands by attaching a plough to the animal or even used to transport loads more than twice its weight. The en-leress had very strong muscles and bones along with grippy hooves that helped it traverse over most of the difficult terrain of the region. They would be repurposed to pulling more efficient carts in teams of two once roads sere built within the region.

Physically, the en-leress could grow up to a height of over six feet and extended for about seven in length. Most of its weigh came from its muscles and bones which could easily set it over four hundred pounds. The regions association with the animal could be seen in the many decorative items and arts that carried the distinctive picture of the en-leress.The tin'sam was another common animal that was found among the zu'aan population of the highlands. It was a small poultry bird that was most commonly relied upon by the population for their dietary needs along with the various crops.

The zu'aan reared these animals in their farms and households and would maintain pens and enclosures that were filled with these birds. The issmroth were a common scavenging species that lived within the forests of the Xehemiech and would regularly wander into zu'aan habitats to steal off tin'sam or any other food that the zu'aan kept for themselves. They worked in groups and were nocturnal beings. These animals were regularly hunted by farmers and hunters who did not take kindly to their scavenging behavior.

The issm'roth's fur was commonly used for making warm and visually appealing caps and hats. The rodrany was a predator that one had to watch out for if they were wandering deep within the forest. This creature only hunted near its close habitat and rarely wandered outside it. It was rarely seen in the wild and spent most of its lifetime in hibernation. When it did make an appearance, the rodrany could become a very fearsome predator that could sprint on all fours and chase down its prey.

It weighed more than three hundred pounds and could reach almost six feet when standing upright on its back feet. It used this overwhelming size to overwhelm its prey which it would then, drag back to its cave before consuming it.
