==Geography==

Waress Dry Field is a relatively boring area, and most of it is just flat land. It is, however, a large expanse of land. The field stretches on for many miles and covers a lot of ground. Despite being a grand expanse of flat land, the Waress region does have some notable geographical features. One of these features is the dip in the north where the Keris kin’toni clan decided to establish themselves and build up their community. This dip does not go into the ground too much, but it is large enough to notice a change of elevation when looking at it and when walking through it.

Being the only real change to the flat land, it might even be more noticeable than if the whole area had some elevational changes. In this dip are many houses and buildings built by the Keris kin’toni clan. The older buildings can be told apart from the others as they are much closer together. The clan had wanted to be as close to the other members as possible, and their architecture really showcases this trait about them. As they learned to separate a little, the architecture reflected this change. The homes became a little more spread out, the buildings were no longer practically touching one another.

The area began to look less cramped. Also in this dip, but more spread out throughout Waress, are animal pens and crop farms. The original farms will be found closer to the original community’s buildings, but as time progressed the clan began to make more use of the grand space in which they lived in. The larger animals were moved to larger pens on the outskirts of the community, and farther in the wildness of Waress. These animals out in the open have less of a chance of being eaten by the more local predators of the area. The smaller, and more easily hunted animals, were moved to the smaller pens that are located closer to the community, and some were even moved into the community itself; back to the original animal pens.

In the land that is not built up by the Keris clan, many yuccolia trees will be found throughout the area. There is not a lot of coverage given by these trees, but they are still the only trees found in the Waress field. They aren’t too common, but since the whole of Waress can be seen in any spot, yuccolia trees appear to be more frequent than they actually are. Also in the wild Waress area is a river. This river provides the Keris clan with all the water they could need for themselves, their crops, and their animals. The river comes out of a nearby forest that appears to receive more rain than the Waress area does, but it helps keep the river full and keep the inhabitants of Waress alive.

This river cuts right through the south east part of Waress, so it is some distance from the Keris clan.

==Plants==

Waress Dry Field is not home to a lot of plant life, as it is a very hot and dry climate. However, that is not to say that plant life is nonexistent. In fact, Waress is home to some interesting flora and fauna. The yuccolia tree is one of a few interesting plant species that grows in Waress. Yuccolia trees do not need a lot of water, so the climate is perfect for their growth. They have a single trunk and grow to be about 9 feet tall before branches start to come off of it. The branches that grow from it end in clusters of spikes leaves and white flowers.

The spike leaves do not offer a lot of shade, but the trunks are quite thick, so shade can be sough from sitting against one, facing away from the sun. Including the branch height, the yuccolia trees grow to be an average of 20 feet tall. Another common plant found in Waress is the grass there. This grass is not like traditional grass; it is dry, brittle, and grows in clumps rather than individual blades. It has a shiny green color but is rather coarse in texture. At the end of the blades, seeds can be found growing. When there are high winds, the seeds will blow off the grass blade and onto the ground where they will plant themselves, and ultimately more grass will grow as a result.

The grass of Waress grows quickly and lives for a long time. Some non-native plant life is to be found in Waress due to the kin’toni clan that inhabits the area. The Keris clan brought many crops to the area. One of these crops is the phasotus bean. This crop is a legume that grows best in dry environments and is one of the few crops that thrives in the natural climate of Waress. The pods of the beans are wide, flat, and slightly curved. On the bean are fine ridges that coat the inner seed of the bean. Due to it thriving in the Waress climate, the phasotus bean is highly sought after during trades, and so the Keris clan profits well off of the small bean.

In addition to the phasotus bean, another type of crop has been found to grow quite well in the Waress climate. This crop is called maiys. It is a tall grass essentially, but it grows a vegetable at the end of it. It has a solid stem and leaves that grow all up and down it. During the cooler season of Waress, the maiys can be seen flowering and preparing to grow the delicious vegetable that grows from it. Maiys is technically classified as a grain, and it is edible as well. It is less sought out during trades than the phasotus since it grows well is almost all climates, except extreme cold.

The Keris clan has done their part growing and supplying the environment with different plant species and crops.

==Animals==

While most of the animals found in Waress are not native and were brought by the Keris kin’toni clan when they moved into the land, there is one species of animal that has called Waress its home for much longer than the kin’toni clan has. Wild airl are frequently found running throughout Waress. They have long legs, run on all fours, and can be identified with their irregular fur patterns. These creatures live and hunt in packs, terrorizing the farm animals of the Keris clan. Their constant and odd form of communication helps them take down the farm animals. They are extremely loyal to one another and have been recorded as being able to remember faces and even hold grudges.

They prefer targeting the smaller farm animals, as they are not that large themselves, but usually go for the bigger animals, as they are less protected than the small farm animals of the Keris clan. The large farm animal of the Keris clan is the coxii. These creatures are stocky and have long rectangular bodies. They are quite muscular and large, as well. Their head is relatively smaller in comparison to their large bodies. They have brown and black spots that litter their white fur. Coxii are herbivores and enjoy a steady diet of grass that grows all throughout Waress.

These animals have long tongues, which helps them rip out the grass from the ground, root and all. Coxii are rather docile creatures, and just enjoy their lives as the days come and go. They do not seem to fear the wild dogs, but they have shown signs of being aware of their presence. However, coxii just do not seem to care about them at all. Another farm animal the Keris brought is the swog. Swogs are small creatures with pink-colored skin. They have small snouts but large teeth. They are omnivores but prefer to eat the local Waress grass, as it is convent to eat. They have a very good sense of smell and are able to smell the wild dogs when they get too close.

Swogs are also known to be very vocal. This comes in handy when the wild dogs are getting too close, and the swogs need to alert the Keris clan in order to protect themselves. Overall, they are very cute and smart creatures. Finally, the smallest of farm animals brought by the kin’toni clan is the gallune. Gallune are a type of flightless bird. They produce meat and eggs that the Keris clan trade and sells with others. They have a squat and rounded appearance, standing less than 2 feet tall. They have big feathery tails that are brightly colored.

Gallune are the most hunted animal by the wild airl of Waress. They are easy to grab and kill, and they also are not smart enough to recognize the presence of the dogs. Overalll, the gallune species is rather stupid. However, they produced good meat and eggs, and keep zu’aan people nicely fed.
