==History==

The Vali kin'toni Clan was founded in the year 4E 70. There was a profound kin'toni who was originally from the [[Eladlye Kin'toni Clan]] named Jualli, and he didn't like their religious dogma; so, deciding not to believe in this clan's religion, he broke all ties with the clan and ran away to a forest region to recruit a bunch of zu'aan in an attempt to create a clan of kin'toni that were equal and alike in both dignity and battle. During the early centuries of the Vali clan's existence, they managed to turn a fair amount of zu'aan into their own, raising them into a non-verbal predominantly profound environment.

They were doing the best they could to take of themselves and each other as they raised them. Despite communication being very restricted during this early period the new recruits they turned were taught and disciplined accordingly on how to function in their kind of environment. and how to make a good lifestyle out of it. They were even active in introducing them how to hunt and how to eat in a proper or just fashion, at which point the new recruits would eventually learn through the Vali clan's teachings. In the Shattering between years 4E 100-4E 150.

They ended up losing most of their clan to physical ailments, and war with other clans, although it is generally suggested amongst many of the kin'toni that had studied them that this period of illness began late in the Shattering. Specifically, a key battle between the Vali clan and another such clan ended in the Vali clan successfully defending their territory. The victory came with a major sacrifice, which resulted in most of the Vali clan's military being killed by the surprise invasion. Several years ago in the year 232 of the Third Era, there was a strange volcanic eruption.

It was in a neighbouring region, causing nearly half of the Vali clan to be displaced by the ash and lava that came with the eruption; eventually, however, they eventually returned to their home with few losses of life and returned to their lifestyle not knowing that the eruption would eventually serve as a permanent reminder of this. Currently, the clan is at work trying to turn zu'aan into their local region, but the shortage of zu'aan has caused some to give up temporarily. Nowadays, life is not easy for the Vali clan; however, they are generally optimistic that things will change.

And although time is running out for them they have not lost hope. For that very reason, they continue to search for zu'aan each night while, at the same time, managing to take care of and feed themselves in the process. Generally speaking, they are more intelligent than one would think of them to be, so they normally try to keep their intelligence to themselves, especially with an Ice Age approaches.

==Psychology==

They are typically physical, direct, uncouth, intimidating, and wise. This clan have something similar to a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by impaired social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication and restricted and repetitive behaviour. The clan members are also non-verbal, unable to speak, but can make sounds. This has made it hard for members of this clan to communicate with others, both within and outside the clan. Their social difficulties and meditative nature sometimes lead them to solitude, or at least the wanderer's path, where their attributes are.

And lifestyle complement rather than restrict each other. Most are conflicted, their feral nature as much burden as a gift, they also tend to have enough perspective to control and explore the paradox of their beings. They are very isolationist and fight those who enter their lands, but they do not go outside their lands much. Vali kin'toni leads a very stressful life. In addition to their not being able to talk they also have a complex series of neurological issues that prevent them from functioning in some aspects of life; however, they act just like any other typical kin'toni.

Walking around and living the life of a typical kin'toni, and even though they have a lot of problems on their plate they always do their best not to show it. From time to time they eventually succeed in socializing with one another, but because of their inability to decipher other kin'toni clans' languages they cannot verbally communicate with anyone outside of their clan as a result of their profound illnesses and neurological disorders that affect their brains. The typical Vali kin'toni is capable of doing many different things, including turning zu'aan, hunting, and cooking certain foods over a campfire.

They also don't have a lot of mentality because of their inability to speak, but this doesn't necessarily stop them from making their mark in trying to get their priorities straightened out and going about their nightly routines. The typical Vali kin'toni's brain functions in a rather strange way, for at some times during a typical night a Vali kin'toni's brain tends to lack in semantic memory, which is also critical in learning various routine things, including speaking and doing other simple things; however, kin'toni from this clan have a distinct hearing and sight advantage.

It is also important to note that the Vali kin'toni has a unique ability to build strange types of architecture as many of the kin'toni in this clan have been known to band together in the past to work on strange buildings and other sorts of architectural compositions that would otherwise house many kin'toni. Given that, the kin'toni in this clan have a unique personality, especially considering their strengths and weaknesses.

==Biology==

The Vaili are adapted to the damp, low light, bioluminescent Hyriss Fungi Forest. They are slender, with an light, flexible skeleton. They are elongated of build, with limbs that are disproportionately long. This allows them to be good at climbing and uneven fungal terrain. The downside of this is being prone to broken bones and bruising from blunt force trauma. The skin is mottled, in shades of violets and browns. This skin has an slick, almost waxy sheen to repel moisture and an secretion of a mild anti-fungal compound via the pores.

This stops parasitic spores from taking hold on their flesh. The downside of this adaptation is quicker dehydration in dry environments. The skin has the ability to draw trace amounts of water vapor directly from the constantly humid forest air to supplement their fluid levels. Under the skin is pockets of fat that act as an final defense barrier if poisons breach the bloodstream. This fat requires an intake of blood to maintain and replenish. They also have specialized skin folds, that alongside their hair absorb high-frequency sound waves, effectively dampening any noise made by their movement through the dense undergrowth.

The hair is wiry, sparse, coarse tufts that look like fungal rhizoids. This hair has an hydrophobic coating on individual hair shafts to rapidly get rid of dampness and prevent mold growth. The eyes are black and reflective with light-gathering pigments in the retinal tissues to capture the faint fungal luminescence. These eyes are easy to blind with bright light. Their ears are large and fan like, and appear almost like a shelf fungus. They have flat noses with large, flared nostrils that have internal branching coated in a fine dark fuzz.

The nose has chemoreceptors able to tell apart complex fungal spore trails and organic compounds in the air for tracking. The fine dark fuzz are adapted hairs for filtering out fungal spores in the air. The teeth are needle-like and with very fine tips for quickly taking blood from under the protective layers of armored prey. These teeth are easy to blunt and chip. Claws are flat, broad and with chisel like edges. These claws are hyper-ossifed, and adapted for digging through tough fungal mycelial mats and soft, damp earth.

The fingertips and palms have developed finely ridged pads that adhere slightly to massive fungal stalks and caps. These are an adaption to aid climbing. The feet are slight webbed and enlarged for weight spreading on mycelium-rich mire on the forest floor. These also lead to poor balance on narrow, solid ledges or branches. The clan's members have tails. These are used for gripping and supporting their weight on the tangled fungal shelves and caps for added stability. They have an set of specialized glands in their kidneys that are for breaking down common fungal byproducts and waste materials found in their diet.

This allows them to eat prey that are exposed to such things. The downside of this is a higher water requirement as there is a need to urinate to purge the by products.

==Culture==

And with most of the kin'toni in this clan not being able to communicate with other clans across the planet they are often considered as one of the few clans in the kin'toni'ati world to be able to speak in sign language, which, in itself, is both a blessing and a curse to them. They do try to teach their allies sign language, but most of their allies find sign language to be somewhat complicated for some reason and often struggle. In addition to that, they are typically very unlike other clans as a result of their unusually large hands and feet, which may have been caused by a rare form of mutation.

That affects only the outer edges of one's limbs as opposed to the entire limb; given that, they typically make their own shoes and gloves to make sure that they can fit in them, and they even make rings out of stone that they wear as an accessory to them. They are also gifted in certain kinds of architectural art, using stone to make certain habitats for one another, as well as making certain foreign objects out of simple kinds of wood that are otherwise thick and durable; however, they also make strange stone paintings using tools of hard stone and with much hard work.

kin'toni from this clan normally have them hidden in a large cave that puts these paintings on display. Their clothing is in dark shades of green and earth tones to better blend in with their natural surroundings. The minority of the Vali clan that is capable of playing music are often referred to by the Vali government as the Zcunauyzain, or, loosely translated, the Chosen Few. They are willful, determined servants of the Vali government and they normally provide musical accompaniment to certain events, including parties, initiations and mass services.

Another key part of the Vali clan's culture is a typical Vali kin'toni's willingness to learn new things, such as learning how to mix certain fruits together and cook them over a campfire and even how to capture, and raise certain kinds of animals. This part of their culture also shapes their otherwise eclectic and strange personality, although at times it does impair their sense of self-reliance and independence because of their inability to communicate with other clans. Given that, and despite the Vali clan's disabilities, they are generally regarded as a clan of action.

That considers talk to be somewhat useless and extremely cheap, especially in the case of their interactions with other clans. They particularly like to show others how skilled they are by doing interesting things.

==Government==

The Vali government is considered by many clans of kin'toni to be one of the most complex governments of the kin'toni'ati world, for many of the officials in the Vali government are considered as the clan's Xlkaozkae (singular: Xlkaozka), or messengers. This government referred to within the Vali clan as the Empire of Messengers, or the Zv'caybquapa, considers itself to be the spokespeople of the entire Vali population, usually. When meeting with leaders of allied clans they generally try to speak for themselves and the entire Vali clan as a whole in spite of only several of the officials.

That is in the Zv'caybquapa being able to speak proficiently in a kin'toni'ati tongue. Sometimes they speak for their clan that they rule over by showing them around their region when leaders of allied clans come to visit. The Zv'caybquapa used to consist of several leaders from two sectors of the Vali clan's region, with the leaders from each of the two sectors meeting in a cave to determine the best course of action in governing their clan; however, with the addition of a third sector in 4E 176, several new leaders were elected through a jousting tournament that took place within that sector of the region.

The leader of each of the three sectors meets privately in a separate part of the cave in which the entire council deliberates to discuss legislations that they feel need to be passed, at which point they would determine which laws would be passed by having two of them play a game of tic-tac-toe, with the "X" determining the passing of the law and the "O" determining the rejection of said law. For more important pieces of legislation, however, the entire six-kin'toni council will typically go outside the cave to throw a rock into a pond to see how many times it will bounce in the water.

If the rock bounces once or not at all, the suggested piece of legislation will either be revised or struck down, but if the rock skips in the pond at least twice, the law will be passed into further consideration. At this point a kin'toni will flip a coin to determine whether the law will become a law (at which point the coin would land on heads) or if it will get struck down instead (at which point the coin would land on tails). Each coin that is flipped has the face of a kin'toni on the front and the clan's symbol on the back. Leaders of the Vali clan's government are determined by section.

Sill level, experience, and overall loyalty to the clan as a whole, and those four things are considered to be most important in determining who can stand above the rest. Leaders are also determined through a simple tic-tac-toe tournament where the winner gets a spot in their local sector's leadership panel, which consists of two or three leaders.

==Military==

The Vali clan has a unique kind of military that enforces discipline, honour, respect, and, above all else, the need for and use of action. The Vali clan's military, which is commonly known as the Grand Vali Elite, or Gukxaoah, consists of roughly fifty per cent (or approximately half) of the Vali clan, and this half that makes up the clan's military swear solemnly to protect their land from invaders and try to interact positively. It is every Vali clan soldier's primary goal in their time as a member of the Gukxaoah to serve their Vali government with diligence and loyalty and protect their hard-fought property.

From others that they believe to pose a threat to them. It is essential for a soldier in this clan to make their government proud and stand out above all other clans as a unique and sophisticated military. For a Vali kin'toni to join this particular military one must be proficient in sign language. For a Vali kin'toni to join this clan all they have to do is complete a unique obstacle course that involves many different things, including interaction with animals, hundred-yard dashes, climbing, jumping and crawling, among other things Once they can complete this obstacle course they will get an opportunity to run it again.

But this time they will be timed, and if they can get through the obstacle course once more and in a given allotted amount of time, they will be initiated into the Gukxaoah and go into basic training, at which point they will be taught everything that a typical Vali kin'toni must do to lead a prosperous life. After the success of the completion of the obstacle course, one is initiated and takes part in a secret ritual which is done in a cave. Several lights are lit and candles are raised in the initiated soldier's honour, and the soldier has the honour of blowing out both candles to start one's basic training.

During basic training, it is generally suggested that the Vali soldier is taught how to speak the languages of their clan fluently and in a timely and appropriate manner, and it is at that point that they are also taught how to hunt and raise certain animals, as well as how to kill other animals that prey upon the Vali kin'toni effectively using a two-punch technique that involves a martial arts-inspired tap to the head. A kin'toni in this particular military can rise up the ranks, and with new promotions come a new set of responsibilities, each of which must be handled in an appropriate and timely manner.

It is also not common for one not to get promoted, however, especially if they are not determined enough to complete a task or can't complete a task in such a way that satisfies the leaders of the Vali military. If given enough promotions and enough responsibility handled properly, a kin'toni in this clan can eventually become a leader of the Vali clan's military, and that kin'toni will have an extra additional responsibility, which is the responsibility of giving out commands and leading the clan's nightly activities; however, the leaders of this clan's military are also treated just as equally as the rest of them

==Religion==

Vali kin'toni is generally very fond of spirits of creatures that they enjoy taking care of, which is why they believe in the concept of spirit animalism, a fairly old religion within the clan that is also very popular and very easy to believe in. The typical Vali kin'toni believes that every Vali kin'toni has a spirit animal inside oneself just waiting to be released into the open. The Typical Vali kin'toni also prays to oneself during the day while sleeping, a practice which is often routinely practised among most in the Vali clan's region of residence.

They pray each day for a prosperous and otherwise profitable night ahead, with ambition and dreams of success looming in their near future from time to time. Their drive to believe in the spirits of certain animals has inspired several clans. Most Vali kin'toni always believes in cleansing themselves in rivers scattered across the Vali clan's region of residence, with some soaking their entire bodies into such rivers within this regional plane. They believe that to cleanse themselves of sin and wrongdoing they must always try to wash in a river of water.

With most of the Vali clan's population within their region believing in animal spiritualism it is not hard to notice how dedicated they are to their religion, especially when sleeping during the day. It is also not hard to determine how gifted some of the Vali kin'toni are in terms of transcribing the stories of their ancestors' ramblings and other such parables of urban legend. Because of their religion tying very close to legend and mythology, one might suggest that the Vali clan have a lot of wisdom and knowledge of their ancestors and past despite not being able to speak most of the time.

Most of the clans of kin'toni from across Terael have criticized in some way the nature of this clan's religion, which is often referred to as a five-symbol word that consists of rock, a spirit, a cage, the face of a kin'toni, and a skyline. Some have suggested in the past that this religion doesn't have a name, although the name of this religion consists of five different colour-coded symbols. One might also get the impression that this particular religion that this clan worships within their region is a strange sort of religion that involves a cult following and a strange ritual.
