==History==

After the Awakening and the collapse of the Xerea Zu'Aan Empire, all the kin'toni took their separate paths and disbanded into various clans in the following years. Throughout the years, many came to be known for their strength but none were as infamous as the Uyrall Kin'toni clan. The Uyrrals were considered as one of the clans to be formed after the Twilight Age started. They went on to settle near the plains in the western region of the Taerel.

The Uyrall were warlike and aggressive and this nature initially led to a lot of dissension among them. Among this conflict, Morg who was considered one of the strongest of Uyrrals rose up as their leader. A lot of the people were unhappy with Morg’s position of leadership and decided to split up instead. These Uyrrals who split up from the main clan were then known to join the Val clan as their followers. The main part of the tribe came to the plains where they encountered the zu’ann cities which weren’t fallen yet.

The closest to them was the city of Gromir who loomed high as if to discourage any invaders. The Uyrrals built their encampment outside the city as if to challenge the zu’aans to battle. The zu’aan in the western reaches of Taerel were spared from much of the brutality of the kin'toni as they had fled the coming onslaught during the Great Bleedout. As a result, they were completely unaware about the true strength of these monsters. They took the invitation to battle, which proved a fatal mistake for them.

Initially, the zu’aans sent a small platoon of fighters to scare off the invaders. However, what they didn’t know that the Uyrall kin'toni were masters of combat. They may have been unarmed but they were pretty strong. It didn’t take a lot of efforts for the Uyrrals to finish of these fighters. This fight however, gave the Uyrrals a massive advantage. Having fought barehanded until now, they finally got access to weapons, recovered from the dead fighters.

The Uyrrals realized that there strength in combat can be enhanced further by using clubs and knives and such. For the next few months, the Uyrrals continued to attack any zu’aan scout, soldier, or civilian that ventured outside the gates of Gromir. They looted their bodies for weapons and armor and hung their half-eaten carcasses on poles outside the walls of Gromir. Morg wanted to bait the zu’aans into attacking them. That night, a horn sounded in the air and the gates of Gromir opened. All the zu’aan fighters from Gromir marched out towards the Uyrall encampment.

They reached the encampment to find it completely empty. The Uyrrals had purposely laid this trap for them. As the confused zu’aans scattered to find the kin'toni, they had already taken the city in the absence of the fighters. The zu’aans returned to find their city taken and its residents held hostage. The Uyrall told the zu’aans to surrender their weapons and armor in return for the safety of the hostages. When the soldiers did as they were told, the Uyrrals killed the hostages and finished off the soldiers.

The Uyrrals took the city as their own where they still reside. However, as Gromir is in the proximity of other zu’aan cities, the conflict continues to this day.

==Biology==

The Uyrrals are known as one of the most warlike and brutal clans among the kin'toni. One look at their form is enough to ascertain the fact that this is indeed true. The Uyrrals are built like a bull: muscular in the chest with strong limbs and a brash face. There square-shaped with its gaunt looks seems like a threat to any outsider. They have sharp eyes with light blue irises, white sclerae and horizontal rectangular pupils. The eyes always seem to be looking with murderous intent.

Their fangs are a lot more pronounced and sometimes grow towards the outside of their mouth like small tusks. Being almost 8 foot in height foot in height, they tower over most of the kin'toni. Despite their sharp fangs, Uyrrals rarely use their teeth during fights. Their jaw lacks enough power to crush bones, so the teeth and only used for eating. But what the Uyrrals lack in bite power, they make it up in sheer strength. Aside from the infamous strength of the Val clan, there is no other Kin’toni that can challenge the Uyrrals in a fistfight and win.
Their sheer stamina is also impressive.

It is often said that a Uyrral Kin’toni can fight for a whole day without tiring. It is impossible to ascertain this fact as all battles with a Uyrral last less than a few minutes, with the opponent being torn into two parts. These abilities make the Uyrrals excellent close combat fighters. However, the Uyrrals do not make good runners. Their inability to chase their prey often ends up as a disadvantage for them. The Uyrrals therefore, do not hunt like other kin'toni.

Since they are at constant war with the other zu’aan cities, the carcasses of soldiers are readily available to them on a sufficient basis. Every few days an attack on their city occurs or they attack a city that ensures their food supply. It is this that forms their primary food source. The Uyrrals are feared all around Taeral for the scariness of their visage. They are often seen outside their cities or near the plains, training for battle.

They like to keep their body in good physical shape so that they are always ready for battle. Their already existing physical strength was bolstered by their newly acquired skills in weapons. The tremendous strength of the Uyrall made them warlike and quarrelsome. This is often due to the fact that the Uyrrals are so strong, they never get to fight someone that is a challenge. It is due to this predicament that the Uyrrals love being constantly at war with other zu’aans.

==Culture==

The Uyralls were always known as a brutal and warlike clan. Although they are always compared with the feral kin'toni of the Vlakia clan, it is important to distinguish that the Uyrral are not savages like the Vlakias. There is a method to their fighting and conflicts. In fact, for the Uyralls, fighting is more of an art rather than an outlet for satisfaction. They do not roam around the continent killing mindlessly. They only kill factions with who they are at war.

After capturing Gromir, the Uyrrals declared war with all the neighboring cities. This turmoil proved to further enhance the fighting spirit of the Uyralls. They decided to settle in Gromir and savor this period of strife and war. The Uyralls were general not accepting of other Kin’toki clans. Respecting only strength, the Val kin'toni were the only ones they would ever bow down to. As a result, the Uyrral community only consisted of members from their own clan.

Constantly being in the presence of strong individuals stirred their fighting spirit even more. This often led to a lot of fights amongst themselves. Morg, the head of the clan decided that these clansmen need an outlet for their enthusiasm and contentiousness that fighting with the zu’aans couldn’t provide. He then came upon the idea of fighting pits. A ring was constructed for the Uyrral clansmen to fight in. The fight was supposed to be barehanded without the use of fangs or any weapons.

The opponents fought without armor, with their bare fists, and tried out to knock the opponent out. This concept was so well liked by the Uyralls that it soon became popular within all the community. Uyrrals used to fight in the ring and people used to bet on their favorite ones. Sometimes, Morg himself went out into the ring to fight and had never lost a fight even once. These fights soon started taking new forms. New variants of this game started to take root. The rules began to change.

Some allowed the usage of armor, some allowed biting as a viable strategy, some insisted only on kicks. It didn’t take much time until weapons became allowed in these fights. The public realized that their desires for fighting had elevated and simple knockouts won’t satiate them. The clan leader Morg also realized this issue. He then started the tradition of once-in-a-year deathmatch tournaments which was possibly the most iconic piece of culture that came from the Uyrrals.

Every year, a fighting ring was constructed outside the city of Gromir. Participants were instructed to fight each other until the opponent was dead. There were no rules regarding any weapons or armor. Anything that can be wielded can be brought into the ring. The goal of the game was to kill the opponent before he kills by any means necessary. Dozens of people participated each year and dozens died each year. Initially, this game was only played by the Uyrrals, but soon the popularity of this sport spread far beyond the reaches of western Taerel.

kin'toni from all over the continent came to Gromir to witness these fights. These murderous displays of strength further solidified the fear of the Uyrrals in the hearts of the world.

==Government==

The Uyrrals being widely regarded as one of the strongest clans, naturally are drawn towards strength and power. During their journey towards the plains of western Taerel, many small Uyrral clans came together. During their journey westward, they felt a strong need for capable leadership. Morg, one of the group's strongest fighters, suggested that he be chosen as their leader. A tough competition to him was Kro'thos who also wanted to become the leader. They decided to fight each other to determine the leader.

The one who got knocked down to the ground would lose. Their fight lasted all evening with Morg finally emerging as the victor. Kro'thos angry about this decision left the group along with some clansmen who felt the same way. This left Morg as the uncontested leader of the Uyrral kin'toni. After their arrival at Gromir and the consequent battles, the city was theirs to keep. Instead of destroying the city, Morg decided to use the city as a bastion against the rival zu'aan.

It was natural that Morg who led the clan to this place would continue to govern them here. The first thing that Morg did was command the destruction of the zu'aan houses. He told his people to build their own housing for them. He then created training areas for soldiers which allowed them to test out their skills. All the weapons and armor that they had was obtained from plundering enemy loot. Their food sources were abundant too considering the hefty amount of dead enemy soldiers that they came across.

Destroying the previous architecture had lent them a study supply of wood and stone. The Uyrrals didn't have a tax system as much. The might of the strongest determined the amount of possession that they had. Any loot plundered by a Kin'toni was his to keep. Oftentimes it happened that two Uyrrals may come upon the same loot. In that case, an argument broke out over who it actually belonged to. And an argument between two would always lead to the death of one.

This problem of infighting became so rampant, that Morg soon heard about that. To counter this problem precisely, that the fighting rings were invented. With the inauguration of the fighting rings, the situation pretty much stabilised. As the fighting rings became popular, the deathmatch tournaments were created as a festival to take place every year. This attracted kin'toni from all over the continent. Betting on fighters became a rampant sport. Some of the kin'toni volunteered to fight the Uyrrals in the ring for money.

As more and more people heard about this, various Kin'toni fighters from other clans challenged the Uyrrals, either for money or some of their possessions. This attraction generated revenue for the Uyrrals. For a clan, who spent all their life in fighting, money was surely a strange concept to them. Morg was overwhelmed by the concept of finance that he saw was rampant amongst the Vorust Kin'toni clan. Morg however soon realised that this small metal disc held great power as many clans used this currency to sell weapons.

Content with this power, he used the opportunity of the deathmatch tournaments to meet new clans and buy weapons from them, thus bolstering their strength and economy at the same time.

==Military==

The Uyrrals were uncontested in all of Taerel for the power of their military. What they lacked in numbers, they made up in strength and discipline. Any battle fought by the Uyrrals was seldom likely to be any trouble for them. The Uyrrals, in the initial part of their emergence as a clan, were unarmed fighters. Unlike other kin'toni who bit their victims to kill them, the Uyrrals used their raw strength to crush their victims or tear them apart.

This made them more versatile fighters whose mere sight sent some of the zu'aan into panic. During their journey westwards, the tribe was split into smaller groups with all the powerful fighters grouped together. These platoons were supposed to scout the lands ahead for food and enemies. In the sacking of Gromir, these platoons were the first to take the city on the orders of Morg. As a semblance of civilization established among the Uyrrals, these platoons became it's main military might.

If any threat was detected outside Gromir, one of these platoons was called to take care of the situation. Before coming to Gromir, all the Uyrrals, including the platoons, used to fight with their fists. During their siege of Gromir, they came upon some weapons of the dead soldiers; mainly clubs and knives. The Uyrrals took great fascination with these tools of death. They soon realised that it was the weapons that actually made the zu'aan strong and gave them the chance of at least injuring a Uyrral Kin'toni.

Morg was deeply awestruck with how much a small tool can bolster someone's power. He soon realised that the Uyrrals can be made even stronger if they started wielding weapons. After looting the weapons of the dead soldiers, Morg gave them to the strongest members in each platoon. He made them train with it and learn their basics. The weapons wielders in the platoons were the first to breach the city. After the sacking, when the Uyrrals had killed all the zu'aan fighters, they got an even greater access to weapons and armour.

Morg decided to capitalise on this situation. He armed all his platoons with clubs. He opened training rings where they could spar all day to hone their skills. As time passed, the Uyrrals faced conflict from the neighbouring zu'aan cities. Battles were fought frequently. More battles meant more looted weapons for the zu'aan. They got access to a plethora of clubs, spears, slings, long iron knives which further strengthened their might. If the Uyrrals were considered strong before, then they had become an unstoppable might now.

Not only the zu'aan, but even some of the Kin'toni clans were threatened by their might. The Val clan was afraid that their individual strength was getting greater than their own. As a result, the Val clan tried to recruit some of them as followers so as to establish peaceful relations with them. Although not having strength in numbers, the Uyrrals military was regarded very highly across the continent and was feared by many, friends and foes alike.

==Religion==

The Uyrrals feared and respected only one thing in life: strength. It is therefore natural that their religion would manifest based on that concept. The Uyrrals worshipped a god that they called Moniki. It was represented as a humongous ape with horns on its head and razor sharp fangs, much similar to the Kin'toni teeth. The origin of this figure is largely unknown but it was a part of their belief system way before Morg and his army raided the city of Gromir. There are also a lot of legends surrounding Moniki that refer to this ape-like figure as a worshipped deity even before the collapse of the Empire.

The Uyrrals regarded Moniki in the highest regard and after the city was sacked, a temple was built for him using the materials from destroyed zu'aan homes. A statue was built there and was depicted in its traditional form: sitting cross-legged with a bowl held with it's two hands. Each fortnight, the blood of a zu'aan fighter was used to fill the bowl. It was believed that Moniki loved the taste of blood and granted boons to whoever pleased him with this delicacy.

The stronger the person, the tastier was his blood to the god, and the greater was his boon. Hence, a lot of times the blood used for these rituals were of Uyrrals themselves who either died in battle or on the fighting pits. This was the only worship that the god seemed to demand.
Although being of savage repute, the Uyrrals were a surprisingly tolerant clan when it came to other religions. They didn't think of Moniki as a supreme god but merely a creature of legend who deserved worship. They didn't hold other religions in low regard.

That is why kin'toni from other clans were not afraid of visiting Gromir for the deathmatch festivals. What the Uyrrals greatly despised however was weakness. That is why they absolutely abhorred some of the southern tribes who had given up hunting zu'aan and were trying to broker peace with them. Unlike the Vals, the Uyrrals never tried to spread the influence of Moniki to other clans. They believed that if some strong soul was willing enough, he would himself come to accept the blessings of Moniki.

Perhaps this tolerance safeguarded the Val clan against any threat from the Uyrrals. A lot of Uyrrals were recruited into the Val clan as followers. The Vals in return allowed them to keep their reverence to Moniki as long as they considered the Val as supreme beings. Although reluctantly, many of the Uyrrals lived under the Val rule trying to balance their own beliefs with this new authoritarian one.

==Miscellany==

During their late years in Gromir, the Uyrrals found a great way to capitalise on their love for weapons. The popularity of theri deathmatch festivals brought many clans to their doorstep. It was through the Vorust clan that they learned all about the concepts of finance. They began trading their excess weapons and armour for food supplies. Some clans offered them coins for their goods- a form of currency that was gaining traction since the conclusion of the Great Bleedout.

Since this currency was of no use to them in their internal governing system, they gave it to some advanced Kin'toni clans that could smelt better weapons, along with iron looted from small zu'aan settlements. This in turn equipped them with stronger weapons which were slowly given to each of their platoon members. This increased interest in trade proved to be a boon for the Uyrrals as their army now became stronger than ever before.

Despite their strength and superior fighting skills, it was not an extremely rare occurrence for a Uyrral Kin'toni to die because of underhanded tactics used in battle. The zu'aan in the nearby cities soon realised that it was impossible to defeat the Uyrrals by sheer strength. Even their combined alliance wouldn't have been enough to completely overthrow the Uyrrals. Due to this realisation, the zu'aan fighters started used cheap tactics like poisoning their weapons with the venom of the Doomfang Python.

The pythons were reared for this very purpose as their venom was known to kill it's victim within twenty minutes. The Uyrrals, however strong they may have been, had little to no knowledge in medicine. Any wound that couldn't be cured by bandaging was deadly to them. The usage of this tactic by the zu'aan lent a massive advantage to them which assured their survival against this unstoppable threat. Although, many of their fighters have died due to the poison, the Uyrrals continue to fight on, wearing thicker armours to prevent the poisoned weapons from penetrating to their skin.

Although the zu'aan had momentarily earned a massive advantage, the tide seems to be turning once more on the side of the Uyrrals.
