==History==

The Sirin aren’t one of the original clans that appeared right after the second Era started, because of this, it is unusual for fellow kin'toni clans to know the name of this clan. Over 400 years after the super-soldier experiment went wrong, the Sirin finally became a proper clan, this was not an easy task however, they split from the [[Taem Kin'toni Clan]] for two main reasons. The first one was because there was a group of people, who later became the founding members of this clan, that desired to have a piece of land of their own. These kin'toni were from the working-class in the Taem clan.

They were poor and getting to the end of the month with any food or water left was considered a rare event.
Despite this, the leaders of the clan and their employers did not even consider the conditions of their workers, leaving them to rot in the horrible jobs they had been working at for decades now. In spite of this, the lack of food or water were not the main reason for the uprisings that started happening all over the regions controlled by the Taem clan. Of course this contributed to the eventual coup, but the final drop in an already filled to the brink cup of patience was the denial to share the blood.

One year, around 4E 134, there was a blood shortage for the Taem, the zu'aan had escaped towards other regions and hunting had been getting harder each year. Because of this, for an entire winter they had to last on the reserves. However, despite the fact that the reserves would be able to sustain the entire clan in case they used it in a moderate fashion, the kin'toni members of the upper class drank way more than their fair share and left none for the workers that kept everything working as it should. After the news got to the workers there was uproar. Fighting in taverns, on the streets.

Became a recurring problem and in a few months, the workers started feeling the effects from the lack of blood. At this point a large-scale uprising started and the workers killed so many members of their own clan that the Taem clan almost ended. Naturally, after this the workers had to run away to other lands. They adopted the name Sirin and formed their own clan with the riches, weapons and supplies they had stolen from their former clan. There was a period of relative peace for the next decade, but soon they encountered the Iroughough clan and attacked them, however, the leader of the Sirin.

Majdekai was assassinated in his sleep on the second day of the war. This forced the Sirin to retreat and till this day the rivalry between these two clans persists, so much so that they have dedicated an enormous number of resources to try to finds the Iroughough and now they are searching the Dunes in hopes of annihilating their mortal enemies. This pursuit has lost the Sirin many soldiers, supplies and time. Some are even worried that the pain form Majdekai’s death is blinding the clan, its leaders are focused on a vendetta that will benefit none of the involved, not even the Sirin.

Now they are being forced to make a choice, between abandoning the hopes of revenge and growing the clan or doing everything in their power to terminate all Iroughough existance.

==Biology==

Physically, the Sirin are a very impressive clan with light orange irises with black sclerae and crescent pupils, despite their average height, it is the force that sets them apart. There have been times in which a simple display of strength by a kin'toni of the Sirin clan was enough to scare away a group of zu'aan or hostile kin'toni. A trained Sirin fighter can rip a person in two with their bare hands and it is not unusual for members of this clan to die in simple brawls within the clan itself. Not all Sirinians are this strong of course, those who were infected by Majdekai usually inherit his incredible strength.

He was known to be one of the most powerful fighters there has ever been. Although many had tried to best him in combat to get his position of power in the clan, they all died trying to reach that goal. Majdekai would run across battle-fields and perforate the body of an enemy soldier before the enemy even realized he was close. His hands were, as many of the Sirin soldier hands are, larger than average and can crush a zu'aan skull with little effort. Aside from their raw power, the Sirin are also known for their endurance, the time they can withstand running or walking can only be matched by a small number of clans.

Unfortunately for the, their opponents the Iroughough are one of them. Furthermore, this power also translates in their movement, many of the Sirin adopt an animalistic stance when walking or running. Just like a tiger hunting prey, this way the Sirin can reach speeds of 25 kilometers per hour and surprise enemies by instantly jumping on top of them, this gives the Sirin the upper edge in places with cover, like forests or abandoned towns and villages. Despite this physicality they are known for, sickness is something that plagues the tribe since its creation.

Many of the kin'toni of this clan die each year due to their poor health and many more get sick to a point where fighting is no longer a possibility. Presumably, this unfortunate characteristic of the Sirin dates back to the old days of servitude its early members went through, the long hours, the inhalation of smoke and toxins and the overexertion broke down the bodies of some members of the clan and the zu'aan they went on to infect inherited these conditions. This hurts the tribe, for infecting other zu'aan without transmitting this condition is impossible, therefore, the Sirin are destined to be a permanently sick tribe.

Something the Sirin have also developed is the ability to feel the warmth in specific places, in bodies of other kin'toni or in larger spaces. This way, their senses are appropriate for hunting at night or in a place where vision is severely reduced. This has earned this tribe the appropriate nickname “the hunters” and it is common to have fellow kin'toni tribes requesting their services to terminate specific zu'aan factions.

==Culture==

The Sirin rely on an affirmation of their own power in order to feel respected. This comes all the way back from their ancestors who spent their whole lives working not for themselves but for those with enough power to keep them on a leash. The shame of the slave labor their ancestors used to go through is still something the members on the Sirin clan of the present are trying to erase. This affirmation is done in several different ways, some members of the clan end up painting their clothes with blood from the victims they slay, others carry banners with the symbol of the tribe, a worn-out hammer and chant as they carry it.

Finally, other simply cut off the heads of their kills and stick them on pikes near their camp. Or, if there is space and no one is opposed to the idea, in the middle of the camp itself. Despite their raw power, the Sirin do not excel in much else. So much attention is given to the physicality that the other aspects are incredibly neglected. One of such aspects is intelligence, the Sirin’s reputation is of them being terribly gullible. There is even a saying that is something like this:

“It can’t be easier than convincing a Sirinian that water isn’t wet”. Although it makes the Sirin somewhat of a laughing stock for the other kin'toni clans, and even some of the zu'aan, the clan itself does not consider it a negative aspect, very much to the contrary, they see it as a guarantee of their physical strength for some obscure reason. This weakness can be seen in numerous times that the Sirin are swindled, either by merchants or by the governments of other tribes, it is common for the Sirin to accept deals that do not favor them, or make decisions that harm them.

This is not something that this tribes tries to fix, however, they are content with their place in Taerel and see no point in reading books or informing themselves on a variety of subjects that they consider an absolute waste of time. Power is something that receives a lot of attention by the members of the Sirin clan, there is an enormous concern with the poor and their well-being. The rich are always looking for ways to reduce the suffering of the other classes and things are always distributed in a way that the ones who suffer the most, due to their living conditions, receive the best-quality goods.

Even in aspects such as housing, it is a common practice for the Sirinians with the best houses to receive the poorer members of the clans as guests if they wish. This all relates to the main philosophy of the clan. Fairness is seen as the absolute good and something that the clan should always, in every single action, strive for. Naturally, this has its roots in the lack of fairness of the society in which their ancestors lived, it is a wrong the Sirin of the present are desperately trying to right. The penalty for taking advantage of someone is the execution or even torture if the crime is deemed serious enough.

==Government==

The political side of the Sirin clan is also connected to the goal of absolute fairness that every rightful member of the Sirin clan vouches for. The system of choosing a new ruler could be considered a democratic system, there is an election, however, not everyone able to be considered for the position of “ruler of the Sirin”. It is a cyclical system that constantly benefits those at the bottom, the group from which one can choose the ruler must be a group of the poorest members of the clan. This is something that was though of right after the split from the Taem in order to minimize the chances of the rich gaining total control over the clan.

The poor members of this society earn the chance of being in charge of a system that will be used to benefit every kin'toni of the Sirin tribe, equally. Because of this rule, the poor kin'toni will always have a chance and it is practically guaranteed that there will be someone in power protecting the interests of these kin'toni.
However,is still process that is made through voting. Every year, as it approaches its end, the clan gathers around a very large bonfire and they all cast their votes in a box that is opened at the start of the next year. Although it is an amazing opportunity for the ruler to represent his or her social class.

It is very difficult to get elected. It is a personal sacrifice to be able to have the characteristics that enable you to qualify for the role of ruler. It is imperative that the ruler does not have any material possessions, if he or she does, then they must be thrown away without a hint of regret. Regret only appears on the face of those who are not entirely sure this is the path they must take. This allow the ruler to constantly be reminded of two things, what his ancestors went through so that there could be a Sirin clan built on equality and fairness, and to remind himself of the lives still led by some less fortunate members of the clan.

Additionally, although having children is impossible, it is considered appropriate for the clan ruler to have a wife or a husband. Support is considered a valuable asset by the Sirinians, if one is lucky to have someone support them, they should take advantage of this advantage. Several kin'toni tribes are very critical of the Sirin due to their lack of interest and even, in some situations, total disgust, in forming alliances. Their burning hate for clans who do not share the same views as them ends up weakening the clan politically. But it is something they are aware of and will not try to change.

In recent years, this has changed even more and now the Sirin declare war to every kin'toni clan or zu'aan tribe they come across. They have lost faith in other factions to create a system similar to the one the Sirin have, and now the clan intends to force the other factions to adopt the values they hold dear.

==Military==

Blood is extremely valuable for all the kin'toni clans, but it has a special meaning for the Sirinians, it is not only considered a vital part of their survival but also a way for them to regain their honor. Blood is what ended up leading to the uprising of the first Sirin and the lack thereof was all the motivation those kin'toni needed to sow chaos amongst the Taem clan. Nowadays, retrieving zu'aan blood is the most important task of the Sirinian military, there is no objective that takes precedence. Several hunting parties leave the safety of the clan early in the morning, even before the sun rises.

And can only return to their homes if their quota for zu'aan blood is filled. In case the quota is not achieved, and it is not uncommon. The hunting parties can stay out hunting for days, it would be an absolute dishonor if one of the groups returned with less blood than they should. This blood-harvest as some call it, leaves behind it a trace of dead bodies, be it men, women or even children, everything goes until the quota is achieved. These hunting parties usually target travelers or merchants. It is very difficult attack an entire tribe and leave with several pots of blood.

The military itself consists of very strong warriors that strike fear in the hearts of the kin'toni and the zu'aan alike. They are known to move around a battlefield ripping off members of their enemies like they are nothing but wooden straws, although training is not a regular practice of the Sirinian military. They can dominate their enemies without even being ready to face them. However, despite their strength, the military of this particular clan is actually quite small and there is a constant lack of soldiers. The main reason for this is the poor health of many of the clan members, it is rare for a soldier to fight more than five or six years.

After this amount of time, the body begins to shut down, the lungs do not function properly, the legs and arms are slow and hurt as one moves them and the body itself is shutting down. Due to this, the military cannot control settlements, they are forced to kill, enslave and steal everything; controlling a region would require too much effort and the army would be spread out too thin. The “Carnai” are the special forces of the Sirin clan, there are usually ten or fifteen of them per generation and they are only used for missions of high importance.

They are the ones that run on all fours and are usually the most animalistic members of the clan, killing is like a second nature to them and there has not been a casualty suffered in the Carnai since the first appearance of the group. During war time, the Carnai do not go out to fight the warriors the rest of the army is fighting, sometimes they are sent on special missions, such as raids of the enemy camp.

==Religion==

Strangely, the Sirinians have a relationship with religion that is very similar, in one particular aspect, to the one their mortal enemies, the Iroughough, have. They see community as something spiritual in itself, there is power in this sense of sharing and fighting for one another. Other than this, the Sirin took some basic ideas from some of the monotheistic zu'aan views. The importance of family, in their case of having a wife or a husband, a partner. Tradition is also something that has its roots in these monotheistic religions, this clan tries to emulate the traditions of their ancestors.

Like the week of no work, in which the clan does nothing, they do not even hunt, their only objective is to do as least as possible. One of the most important religious traditions that is still a part of this clan’s day to day are the good-luck charms, each soldier needs to take something from the body of its victim, it could be hair or something they used to carry with them. In this object they retrieve from the dead body, it is necessary to infuse the essence of the now dead soul.

So that one remembers the face of those who he has killed. Another ritual that might seem gruesome for other tribes but is considered holy in this clan is the suicide of the elderly. In hopes of not being a burden, the elderly end their lives on purpose, or sometimes even ask their family member to end their lives for them and are then buried by the clan in a beautiful ceremony. From the age of 60 onwards, the elderly can no longer use their bodies as they should due to the inherent illness of the Sirin, so this collective suicide is something that happens around this age.

When they were still attached to the Taem clan, the workers used to be religious because that is how they were taught to be. However, the link to religion slowly faded away as they realized it brough them nothing, God had got them nowhere, they had to be the ones fighting to break the shackles of servitude. Now it is seen an as absolute waste of time, time that could be used for hunting, building or sparring.
