==History==

As the zu'aan scientists of the Xerea Empire experimented with the super soldier project under the threats of their Bosses, they had to take poor families that no one would miss in order to have subjects with whom they could experiment. Many of these scientists chose to kidnap entire families due to the fact that if a single parent or child was kidnapped, the rest of the family would start asking questions and this would lead to a disruption in the status quo, by taking an entire family they avoided this problem. Many of these families died in the several rounds of experimentation.

It was such a long process that they had to perform these kidnappings for years. Finally, it the experiments were fruitful and they started being able to create these special soldiers. One of the first families that was successfully turned was the Radh, the father, the mother, the son and the daughter all survived the experiments and became vampiric kin'toni. Later, when the outbreak happened, this family was able to escape together out of the city where they had been imprisoned for almost three years. Although initially there were just four members of the family.

They knew that others had been sent off to different facilities, the poor families were usually very large due to the fact that they needed people to work the fields. After breaking out, these four immediate family members went to all other facilities in the region that they all lived in and soon the family grew to fourteen, with cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. Some had died, however, the family used to be far more numerous. They fought with tooth and nail just to leave the big city and, although some of them dies, they were still more than ten after walking for years and reaching the Xaleeld snow dunes.

Over these long years, many kin'toni that were not part of the initial family joined this clan, most people knew that the Radh always accepted refugees, as long as what they desired was to be part of a larger community. They then built a small town in the Dunes and there was a period of relative peace, however, this period did not last for long. This clan came in contact in the Omine, that were still zu'aan at this time. The Radh hate the zu'aan for what they did to their family and all of the other families that led lives similar to those that they had led.

This hate for the zu'aan sparked a war between this clan and the zu'aan tribe. The war was shorter than expected, the winter surprised both sides but, because the Omine were the defenders, they simply retreated to their homes, whilst many of the Radh died from the cold. Nevertheless, as they later found out, they had succeeded in infecting the Omine that, a few months later, were all kin'toni. It was only later, after the Radh had counted their losses, that they realized that the mother and the daughter of the original family had died in battle.

==Biology==

The mother and the daughter were always very different from one another, one had brown hair and orange irises with black sclerae and crescent pupils, the other was blond with green eyes. However, the father and the son were always incredibly similar in a few characteristics, their faces are almost exactly the same, except one is visibly older and has a beard, while the other one looks younger than he actually is. All of the members of the original family appear to have been blessed, or cursed, with very long lives. Due to being some of the first kin'toni to survive the experiments.

They were also individuals that did not go through the perfected experiment, it took several years for the scientist to remove some peculiar side effects that the experiment had, however, this family was still affected by the side-effects, the father has developed hardened skin almost everywhere on his body, which makes his skin almost as difficult to pierce as armor, but also means that he does not sense anything on his body, he might have a serious wound and not know about it due to the destruction of the nerves that this whole situation caused.

Another side effect that the father has is strong flashes of light that appear out of the blue, occasionally, and leave him blind for a few minutes. This has been thought of as being a sort of traumatic response to the transformation virus, but no one know for sure. Additionally, he is extremely tall, about three meters, has gained some weight over the years and lost an eye in the battle with the Omine, this injury is part of what makes him hate the zu'aan, along with the death of his beloved wife and daughter. The son is not as tall as his father and has what is considered to be the average height, not of a kin'toni, but of a zu'aan.

However, his strength more than compensates for his average height, there isn’t a single member of this clan that is stronger than him, he has no difficulty punching through a wooden wall for example. He is like this due to two factors, the first one is that the nerve damage and tougher skin that his father has only affects his arms, so he can use them as powerful weapons, and also because during the mutation his muscles developed more than they were supposed to. The rest of the clan is very different, even from one another, given the fact that they are refugees and have all grown up and been influenced by other regions, there are very few kin'toni in the Radh clan that come from the same place.

==Culture==

The death of the sister was very tragic, she was the youngest of them all and the first one to die in the battle with Omine. The gold got her and she froze to death in the midst of the chaos. They were not even able to recoup her body, she is still there, frozen, to this day. The family and the rest of the clan was devastated when they heard, there was an entire month where everyone dressed in black clothes in order to show respect. However, this was not the worse moment that the clan had in the last few years, almost immediately after they heard that the wife had died.

They realized that the one of the two rulers, the wife, called Exear, had also died. The cause of death in her case was different, it was not the cold that ended her life, but an arrow from a Omine bow that pierced her body. She ended up dying shortly after she got hit, despite the efforts the soldiers made to take her to someone who could help Exear. The death of this powerful woman, Exear, was very difficult to the father, who had already lost a daughter, and to the son, that had already lost a sister. Even darker days followed, both felt lost and there was a large void that had been created with the death of these women.

The tribe’s culture was always to protect families and to give them the utmost importance, however, the void left by the death of these two women has cast a doubt in what their purpose is supposed to be. Every single member is disoriented and they do not know which path they are going to take. Even the father and the son have opposite values that are generating a problem in the clan. The son believes that they should continue on accepting families into their clan and making them a part of what they have built so fat. On the other hand, the father believes that they should accept that the kin'toni are not meant to continue their legacies.

Until now they have simply accepted zu'aan families that had recently been turned into kin'toni, because kin'toni are not able to reproduce. The father’s proposition is for the clan to live its days calmly in their small town and then, accept death when it comes to them. These two different viewpoints have divided the clan in two and some conflicts have even started between the two sides. Part of the clan agrees with the father and the other with the son, and although this is not what any of them wanted, they see no other way than a conflict to resolve their current issues.

The conflict has not killed anyone yet, there are a few that have been injured in small fights, most of it is happening behind the scenes. However, there is a growing fear that this conflict will evolve into something way more serious that will have casualties.

==Government==

The clan used to be controlled by the family, according to the roles one was more fit to play. The mother was considered the fair one and was in charge of the judicial aspect of this society, even the poor families came to her asking for help when they deemed that something terrible had happened to them. She was considered very magnanimous and always delivered a fair ruling, even if the kin'toni that was being accused was someone she got along with personally, they even nicknamed her “the impartial”. The father always controlled the executive branch of the clan.

He actually made things happen, he was always on top of every subject there was, not one single piece of news was going to pass him by. This was the secret to controlling the actions that the clan took, he was aware of every single factor that went into a decision and what the consequences of acting upon the decision would be. The son controlled the military, he was a respected soldier and, for his age, navigated the battlefield with extreme skill. Last but not least, the daughter was in charge of the financial aspect of the clan, she took care of all that was related to commerce.

Along with a couple of kin'toni that assisted her, she kept records on every single thing that was bought, the money or item it was traded for and the clans that were involved in a particular trade. She was the unsung hero of this clan, her expertise allowed them to accept refugees in large numbers and never lose money or anything else because of it. The other members of the less immediate family all had smaller, but relatively important, positions, usually as advisors on a variety of matters. However, as the two women passed away, the government became essentially a two-person monarchy.

With the father and the son taking all the decisions for the clan, with the help of the family members that were left. This was the possible solution at the time, however, because these two men had little to no experience in the areas that they were trying to fill, the justice system and the economical aspect of the tribe became much worse, injustices started happening much more without any true consequences and there were constantly supply shortages of essential goods. Now that the father and the son are no longer willing to work together due to their differences in values and ideas regarding what the clan should become.

They are in charge of specific parts of the same land. Each part has its subjects, that are loyal to the assigned ruler and each part considers itself independent, however, they are still very much in the same town. The two rulers have been governing in different ways since this happened, the father focuses more on the well-being of the members of his side of the town, and the son focuses more on promises of a new clan that will become more powerful than the Radh had ever been. The conflict brewing between the two is going to happen, it is only a matter of when it will happen.

==Military==

The Radh had a relatively strong military when the whole family was alive, they had never been in massive wars, which meant that the thing they were missing was experience, however, due to the kin'toni in charge of the military, they were always strong in terms of skill and strategic intelligence. It was Ram, the son, who was in charge of this military before his mother’s death and the falling out with his father, he spent several hours a day training them for any eventuality and spent the night developing tactics and battle plans for a possible struggle.

Over the years, there were few conflicts, sometimes, out of nowhere, they would be attacked by a zu'aan tribe wanting to hang kin'toni heads as trophies outside their homes. However, these attacks were easily sustained and the zu'aan were the ones who usually ended up dying. No one expected a tribe that consisted of families to pose a threat and by thinking of them as easy targets, the zu'aan underestimate a powerful opponent. The soldiers of Radh, although they do not have the best weapons and armor, rely on strategies to dominate the opposing side.

They are fully aware of what to do in many types of situation and the have a plan, made by Ram, for many situations. For example. If they find themselves in a valley with enemies running from both sides of the valley down at them, they switch positions in seconds so that the enemies run against two groups of spearmen that stick their spears on the ground so that the enemies get impaled in them. After this, the stronger soldiers attack the second line of the enemy that was surprised by this counter attack and are, therefore, weakened. The ability to adapt to almost anything.

Means that this clan is able to go against armies much stronger than them physically. Unfortunately, a significant part of the army died at the hands of the Omine, not many died in the war itself, the Omine did not pose that much of a threat. Nevertheless, there were many kin'toni lives lost due to the freezing cold that came out of nowhere and took down many good soldiers and members of this clan. It was a war that they were surely going to win, but nature go in the way. Still, a few years later, the military of the clan has not gotten back to its previous heights.

This was not, however, only because of this, due to the split of the clan in two, the section of the father and the section of the son the military lost even more of its power. It is now, essentially, split in half and any exterior threats would be met with two different armies and, furthermore, their strength that resided in the many tactics and reactions that the army had to other clan’s armies, was now a weakness. When it split, because of the reduced numbers, the way they can respond to threats became very limited.

==Religion==

Back when the family was still zu'aan and had not been turned yet, many of its members had a close connection with monotheistic religions. Just like any other religious family, they would pray on particular days, they would follow certain rituals and traditions that were part of their religion and had been for generations. When they were kidnapped, religion became even a bigger part of their lives, every day, the entire family, even the members that had not been very religious previously, started praying constantly. For years they asked God to help them, to find them a way to escape.

A single opportunity, that is all they wanted. However, this help never came, they continued being experimented on and seen as cattle by the zu'aan empire scientists and their situation was not improving, on the contrary, each day that passed another grandfather or cousin died and the ones that lived were considerably more debilitated after each day. Eventually, the praying started happening less and less, they lost hope that God would help them and that they would be freed. It took years for them to regain hope, one day, the experiments were successful.

And the family could feel incredible power as the experiment ended, afterwards, they were able to break out. This did not happen because of any God, they had stopped praying for years and a kind God would never have left them in a place that made them suffer as much as they did for even a single second. Due to this, they never spoke of God again, on the contrary, they developed quite an aversion to the idea of a being that protected everyone and was all-powerful. As if the experiments were not bad enough, the life they had to lead after them.

As a vampiric being that lusted after the blood of the thing they once were, was even worse. They had been forced into becoming killing machines and animals, if there was a God, it not a good being, but an evil one. A God that wished for suffering and wanted to cause as much of it as possible through turning the world upside down and ruining the lives of everyone in it. The mother was the only member of the family that kept on believing in God, even during the worse times, she thought that God had his plan in mind and it was always a good plan, even though the mortals could not often understand it.

She continued praying for the rest of her life and even for the years after the experiment. Although the rest of her family all tried to show her how God had abandoned this family and many others like it, she would not listen and always replied with the classic phrase “He has his ways”. After her death, she was given a religious funeral, no one was religious besides her, but the father said that she would have wanted something like this and it was a way to honor the death of his beloved wife, this was the start of the conflict between the two.
