The Quedan fields are home to the [[Oola Kin'toni Clan]], the Oola are warriors that are known famously as the siege infantry, and are a highly specialised clan of kin'toni warriors that are know to be particularly bloodthirsty. They are widely feared among the kin'toni of the Taerel and have never quite been completely aligned with any large kin'toni nation, that however has changed. For now the Oola are the newest members of the kingdom of Adon which is composed of warrior kin'toni clans from different regions of the Taerel.

The Quedan fields are a pleasant place only in appearance for here live the formidable rean-lakxas that the Oola clan ride to war, the Oola warrior have specialised their role in the battlefield over the past several centuries to the point that they are no longer to able to effectively wage war without the use of the rean-lakxas. This has put them in a position that they have never had experience with in the past for the Oola now are vulnerable as the number of the rean-lakxas dimities due to the increasing spread of the ice glaciers from the north.

The Adons were said to be very worried for the inclusion of the Oola to their alliance, for they have never allied with any other kin'toni nation and periodically engage in seemingly pointless wars for the sole reason of the fight. Even among the warrior clans, the Oola stand alone in the level of brutality and blood thirst they display, but the inclusion of the Oola has filled a crucial gap in the armies of the Adons. Prior to the inclusion of the Oola, the Adons did not have any means to attack an enemy when properly entrenched.

But with the inclusion of the massive siege rean-lakxas of the Oola, the Adons are able to take the initiative. The many engagements of the Adons across the Taerel have been positively resolved and concluded due to the involvement of the Oola kin'toni warriors. The culture of the Oola is very alien for it has evolved out of the contact of the rest of the kin'toni clans, although many would have liked to access the vast lands that the Oola claim, but even the most friendly approaches to the Oola has been met with downright illogical levels of aggression.

The last attempt to establish a mission with the Oola was conducted by the Ashat Nation which sent a contingent of the flying kin'toni to try and start a politically neutral dialogue. Upon being sighted in Oola lands, the flying kin'toni were attacked with hurled spears and chased by a murder of mounted rean-lakxas, even though the Ashat contingent returned to their own lands, the Oola did not relent. They broke through the border and seemed to determined to chase down the flying contingent to the very end of the world itself.

Surprised by the unprecedented raid, the Ashat armies were completely unprepared for the assault and the forces that could be mustered were routed. Too tired to continue flying, half of the contingent of the flying kin'toni were eventually caught by the Oola and trampled to death, only then did they relent the chase and return to their lands.
==Geography==

The Quedan fields are fertile and wild, no crop has been harvested on these plains except that of the crop of blood, for many a battle have occurred on these plains. The Oola in their initial years provoked many a kin'toni nation to attack them by either kidnapping important kin'toni or regularly raiding their lands. The quedan fields being vast flat terrain is ideal for the application of the rean-lakxas in battle, and during these initial battles did the Oola perfect their warfare.

The scope of the armies that the Oola defeated here is evidenced by the sheer number of bones one is bound to find while crossing the region on foot. Many visitors have said that pulling a tuft of grass in the fields would reveal the empty hollows of at least one skull. The weather in the region is very similar to that of the steppes found in the Ashat empire which forms the food basket of the whole of the continent for the number of blood stock that is both raised and fed on those vast lands.

Although the quedan field is smaller in comparison to the steppes, it is widely agreed that the Quedan field is several times more fertile than the steppes. This can be easily proven by the rate of growth of plants here in the fields and by the large number of animals that are supported by the land despite the enormous number of animals that are killed and consumed by the Oola and their partner rean-lakxas. The winter are free from snow and relatively dry while the wet season usually takes place in the summer.

And although these two are the only two dominant seasons in the Quedan fields, spring and autumn can be said to occur but they do not have the kind of effect they do in the other parts of the Taerel. The soil has been left untilled for centuries and is bursting with agricultural potential, but due to the frequent trampling by the resident rean-lakxa population the soil has been unable to foster the growth of a forest of any large size, the trees in the fields are found sparsely and far between.

Those that do manage to grow are used by the rean-lakxas are posts to rub against and so they are barely able to spread to the other parts of the field. The soils of the field were said to be once barren but with the countless corpses that have decomposed on these fields and the amount of blood that has seeped through it has completely transformed the Quedan field and its ability to support life. Although the Oola are among the most fearsome of the warrior clans they still seem to have a positive effect on their surrounding vegetation and animal life although this may have come at the cost of an unreasonable amount of kin'toni lives.

The ecosystem that now exists within he Quedan fields is now said to be disturbed, as the rean-lakxas are not able to feed themselves to the same degree and a larger number of the herbivores are unable to survive till the age of reproduction putting a dent in the prey for the Oola themselves, as such they are have begun to raise fewer of the rean-lakxas.

==Plants==

The primary plants in the Quedan fields are the grasses of various species, the most important being the blood red grass commonly referred to as tiraks-Ia. This grass has adapted to the present of the high level of heme present in the soil as a result of the decomposing corpses of the kin'toni which tend to be much richer than zu'aan blood in terms of heme as it is. The presence of this organic compound causes the soil to become basic, but the tiraks-la grass is able to absorb the excess heme and restore a conducive pH for the growth of other plants.

This is while using the absorbed heme to create a more potent form chlorophyll that allows it capture a lot more of the sun’s light and thereby produce enormous stores of food, the grass is thus several times larger than even the nutritious grass found in the steppes of the Ashat nation. The grass is not only very nutritious and present in large quantities but its also a favourite of the many herbivore species found in the fields, they can be commonly observed to consume more of the blood red grass than the greener varieties found growing on the Quedan field.

The few trees that are found on the plains are very few, but are an important part of the Oola way of life for they provide the wood upon which the axe heads of Oola are mounted, earlier, these axe heads were generally crudely made iron or of just plain rock but since they joined the Adon Kingdom, the Oola are supplied by the finest axe heads made by the master craftsmen of the Turenth Lush River city state, this change has meant a large increase in the level of damage they are able to deal on the back of their fierce rean-lakxas.

The jaiua-kan tress from which the wood for these handles is harvested are remarkably long-lived and capable to providing several hundred handles from a singular tree, so even though they are not the abundant their is no shortage of wood for the crafting of the handles of the famous axes of the Oola. The jaiua-kan that is used for the handles is rigid and inflexible without being brittle, although the Adon administrators had proposed a design of a completely iron made axe for the whole Oola clan.

The kin'toni warriors were unimpressed by the fully iron made axes for how much heavier they became, they argued that although the iron handle were far more solid, wielding them in battles for as long as the Oola serve would mean a greater number of casualties. Additionally, with the introduction of the firing technique used by the Daera for their arrows, the Oola have been able to create handle of their jaiua-kan wood that are nearly as strong as the iron handles with a fraction of the weight of the iron handles.

The Adon administrators understand that the Oola are master farmers of slaughter and have therefore limited their supplies to the provision of axeheads and the glaze that the Daera of the cliff use to fire their arrows.

==Animals==

The most important animal of the Quedan field is undoubtedly the rean-lakxas which have become synonymous with the Oola themselves, they are the other group of animals that are known to wage battle in consort with animals besides the warrior clans of the autumn hills and the Tharis sailors found in the coral reefs of the tropical ocean. The Rean-lakxas are omnivores and are known to eat not only meat but also grass and even wood, but their main preference seems to be meat.

The animals are limited in their supply of meat by the fact that besides their size, they do not have any traits that would help them hunt animals. The bond between the Oola and the rean-lakxas has been made through the supply of meat. The Oola have been able to win the obedience and the loyalty of the rean-lakxas by giving them large supplies of meat, and with this supply of meat the rean-lakxas have thrived. Not only are the rean-lakxas much larger than the first generations of the rean-lakxas that were first captured by the Oola but they are of cleverer and less susceptible to damage.

The rean-lakxas have developed a much thicker skin that is impervious to all but the most direct of attacks, besides their size and natural defences against weapons of war. The rean-lakxas genuinely thrive in battle, rushing headlong with little need of encouragement, they bound happily toward a host in battle and seem to compete with another in both ferocity and speed when engaging an enemy. They are happiest when covered in gore and trampling animals or kin'toni into dirt and death.

The other animal that forms an essential part of the ecosystem of the quedan fields is a steed like animal that is spotted and forms the primary prey group of both the rean-lakxas and the oola kin'toni warriors. The baer-lak lives in large herds and is a challenging prey for it is able to run fast and for long durations without stopping, the hunt of the baer-lak is a highly enjoyable activity that the both the rean-lakxas and the Oola partake in together. Increasingly though the herds of the baer-lak have been diminishing.

And the Oola are conference that if the herds do not grow back in number soon they may soon have to found another prey base for survival and although there are other large animals that could serve the purpose none of these animals present a challenge to the kin'toni as prey. As such they have begun to limit the number of baer-laks that are allowed to be hunted in the quedan fields by their clan members, this has been a point of bitter contention and felt to be a move away from the ideology that guides the Oola people.

The intervention of the Adon warrior clans has further increased this rift between those members of the Oola that worry about the future of the kin'toni warrior clans and those that believe the values of the Oola are more important than the survival of a few of their number, in their view what good is a people that abandons the very ideals and principles that shaped them.
