==History==

The clan was founded by Priex Droghu, a zu'aan woman who was captured due to her practices that were deemed unacceptable. She was the only one in her city that shunned the technological advancements and instead chose to live a simpler life. She made rituals based on her knowledge of plants, their uses and their meaning. She even claimed its healing purposes, stating that the expensive technology-based medicine was unnecessary and that nature provided for everything. She began to gain followers, who were mostly women, which caught the attention of the local government, leading to her arrest. Instead of being sent to prison, she was chosen to be part of the test subjects for the superhuman project, mostly due to her reputation of being against innovation.

Her followers suffered the same fate and they were all enclosed in one part of the facility. Eventually, like many other kin'toni, they broke out of the facility. They didn’t turn others though, still unaware of their ability to do so, and instead immediately fled to a far forest. With no zu'aan nearby, the members of the group were starting to starve. They didn’t know yet of their diet requirement of blood and therefore kept trying to consume various berries and other edible plants they could find in the forest, which didn’t bring satisfaction to their hunger nor any kind of sustenance.

It wasn’t until a zu'aan hunter named Rein’r arrived. Rein’r was mortally wounded, most likely by a hostile woodland creature.

When he arrived in the company of the Perdyn. The scent of his blood attracted the kin'toni, with Priex being the first to bite him. He, in trun, tried to defend himself from the kin'toni and slashed her arm with his blade, drawing her blood and having a drop of it fall into his mouth. As he already lost a significant amount of blood, Priex was able to turn him into a kin'toni. He was considered an enemy at firsta nd was kept captive for a few days before the Perdyn introduced him to their ways and deemed him eligible to be a member of their group. There was still the issue of food and hunger.

As most of them didn’t know how to fight, Rein’r began teaching them. He was more knowledgeable about the nature of the kin'toni, with their source of sustenance being blood and with their ability to turn others into kin'toni. He initially hunted for them and expounded on how they can turn a zu'aan by nearly draining them of their blood and letting them drink even a small portion of kin'toni blood. Once the Perdyn were well fed, Rein’r proposed to form scout parties to find nearby zu'aan settlements and other forests. They also eventually took advantage of their biome and created treehouses where they reside.

Qhile the ground was used up for other needed buildings such as a common hall, training grounds and storage shacks. The forest would attract zu'aan passersby who thought of the lower ground as an abandoned zu'aan settlement, as the Perdyn do not descend during the day. Seeing this, Priex ordered for traps to be made to make looking for food easier.

==Biology==

The Perdyn have very pale skin, which can be paler than other clans. Though the founding members retained their natural hair and eye color, signs of change in these aspects began showing by the third generation of Kin’toni. Newer members have had their hair change from its natural color into a platinum blonde color while their eyes changed into a purple hue. The whiteness of the sclera retained and the pupils turned into a crescent shape. Men usually braid or tie their hair up while women would just keep it loose. Their body scent has also adapted to their environment, emitting a flowery or herb-like scent.

They have also practiced fasting and staying away from the need to drink blood for as long as they can. Their hunger tolerance eventually adapted and they could last for 2 months without blood, at most. This, however, caused the Perdyn to commonly have thin bodies but not to the point of skin and bone. Because of this, they usually hunted and fought barehanded. Their fingers soon grew thinner yet their nails naturally grew sharper. Members from this clan also tend to have a variation of height ranging from 5'0 to 6'0. They have soft cheeks and sharp jawlines. They gained a higher tolerance for air resistance as well as for fall damage.

This is due to their common living arrangements being tree houses. They are susceptible to cold seasons. They've gained a very slight tolerance due to being minorly exposed to a bit of sunlight every day (the trees shield them from being completely exposed to sunlight) They can run slightly faster than a Zu'aan but it is a typical slow speed for a Kin'toni, which is affected by their fasting.

==Culture==

The Perdyn usually wear robes made out of silk or cotton. The exceptions to these are those part of the Scouts and the Gatherers. These two groups commonly wear regular shirts and pants made out of the same material so they can move efficiently. Guards usually just wear robes as their duties don’t require as much movement as other military groups. They are also required to train in robes so they may get used to it being uncomfortable with medium-level movement. Their robes are usually brightly colored. Being in a flower forest has given them access to various assortments of dye.

Scout/Gatherer clothing are usually given darker shades to help them hide during hunting if needed. They also wear hoods or shoals as well as arm sleeve extenders if they wish or need to go out during the day. They also pin different flowers depending on what their task is for the day. In terms of their communication, they are barely chatty. They commonly use plants when they want to convey a certain message. For example, it is a common tradition for every member of the clan to give sunflowers to the winning triumvirate after every election as it is a sign of loyalty.

The triumvirate, in turn, would give out lilies which signifies devotion. Not adhering to this tradition is often seen as a sign of dissatisfaction and/or disagreement with anyone in position. Every year, before each season is expected to arrive. The Perdyn gather in their common hall and a huge pot is placed in the center. A fire is lit underneath it and water is placed inside, left to simmer. The members of the clan are all expected to place herbs and flowers of their own based on their manifestations and wishes for the upcoming season. They believe that by gathering all manifestations of each member in one ritual.

Each wish would also apply and contribute to the prosperity of the clan for the upcoming season. It's highly discouraged to manifest something negative towards other members of the clan as they believe that incapacitating one member in that way will have dire consequences for the entire clan. Instead, members with disagreements are encouraged to have a civil conversation in the common hall or in either of the members' private quarters with someone working for the priestess acting as a mediator. The Perdyn are not allowed to injure or kill any other creature, aside from zu'aan, under any circumstances.

The punishment depends on the intent of injuring or killing the creature. If the act was unintentional, the Perdyn kin'toni would either be placed under a house arrest situation or required to perform extra tasks around the settlement as a form of community service. If the act, however, was intentional, then the kin'toni would be placed under a trial. It will be voted on whether the guilty member will be exiled or if they would receive a lesser punishment.

Anyone found with any item that is made up of animal material will face the same consequence as those who intentionally kill animals.

==Government==

The clan and its government have a matriarchal system as the clan itself is composed of mostly women. There is one main leader of the clan called the Overseer, who facilitates everything that happens around the settlement and has the final decision on every matter. She also specifically tends to those who don’t join military groups. She commonly has two other leaders under her, the Commander and the Priestess. Although there is a significant hierarchy between the Overseer and the other two, they are commonly seen as a triumvirate. The leaders are chosen through an election that happens every first day of Spring.

All three leaders are commonly accompanied by two Guards at all times. The Commander is in charge of the format and intensity of the training and the facilitating of the military groups in their duties. She also sets the Scouts’ rotations and the areas of which Gatherers are allowed to explore. They often accompany the Scouts or the Gatherers during their duties and would only rarely be involved in the training of new members and Guards. She is also in charge of diplomatic envoys, usually going with the Scouts in visiting other tribes with this purpose. The Priestess is in charge of ceremonies, festivities, and rituals.

She commonly heads these events and is the one to be approached by those who seek specific plants and recipes for their manifestations. She rarely mingles in public though and instead, can be found in a treehouse specifically made for this position. It is identified by the bouquet of tulips on the door. Aside from the two guards with her, she also has several civilians acting as her eyes and ears around the village. They also perform errands of any type for her. Clan rules and laws, as well as community decisions, are commonly put through a vote.

This vote is not for the implementation of the policy but rather to simply gather the opinions of the majority. The results will not be disclosed to the public but instead sent straight to the Overseer, who spends five days thinking about the decision. She will also be advised by both the Commander and the Priestess. Although she will have the final say. Rarely is the triumvirate ever asked to step down and the clan had mostly been satisfied with those in the position. However, if the majority of the clan wishes so, they may hold a snap election at any time of the year other than the usual date.

This is extremely discouraged as this goes against the initial belief of setting the elections during springtime, which is a symbolism of new life. In the case that any of the leaders are incapacitated or compromised, a voting session is again held. The newly voted individual will act as a temporary leader if the former leader is merely incapacitated. If the former leader has died or cannot do their duties anymore, the newly voted individual will immediately be the replacement only if it is for the Commander or the Priestess. The Overseer's replacement will have to go through challenges made by the remaining two leaders.

==Military==

The clan has a civilian-type army. This means that every member is trained to fight and are given a choice whether they want to join the groups or if they’d rather stay behind and do other basic tasks. Every member starts off as a Guard, whose duty is to stay in their initial base and watch over those who chose not to join the groups. The tasks assigned to them range from being bodyguards to the triumvirate to delivering packages around the settlement. Once trained enough, the kin'toni is given a choice of joining either the Scouts or the Gatherers.

They may also choose to remain as a Guard although they will be required to help the others with other tasks such as tending to their plants or construction. They are also still under training, though not as extensive as the new members anymore, and commonly have a single Scout as a one-on-one mentor for a short period of time. The Scouts are those who travel to far places outside the forest in search of zu'aan settlements to target or for foreign plants/seeds that they may bring back to their base and cultivate.

They are also messengers and traders who keep in touch with other clans. They are always the most equipped of the Perdyn due to the nature and length of their travels. They have a set rotation of who travels out while those who remain are left to train the new members and the Guards. The Gatherers are those who venture out at night towards nearby areas to gather herbs, flowers and occasionally, bring back a zu'aan to feast on. They are also the ones who constantly check on the traps set outside their settlement but within the forest. They rarely go out of the forest.

And only do so once the surrounding areas in the forest don’t have the materials they look for, however they will never stay out for long. They have a preference for fighting without weapons however they are still equipped with spears for men and small knives for women. Generally, their weapons are lighter and smaller as their bodies are not able to lift or wield heavier weapons. They also employed a rotation system for those who venture out due to their low stamina. This trait also contributed to the short time the Gatherers spend outside.
The Scouts are exempted from this as they commonly camp whenever their low stamina strikes.

There are certain days where they let the Scouts and Gatherers either assist those who stay behind in the village or the Guards with their watch duty. This is intended for them to take a break. Their duties become more lenient whenever they have a surplus of resources within their settlement.

==Religion==

The Perdyn kin'toni doesn't have deities in their religion but rather, they worship nature and Terra itself. They believe that the earth is a sentient being who is responsible for every event happening and for all life existing. This causes them to see the zu'aan as a pest and a threat to the earth. They also see themselves and the creation of the kin'toni not as a mistake, but rather as a species that was eventually meant to exist in order to eliminate the zu'aan. Priex, the clan’s founder, has been quoted as saying that the winds had whispered the idea of creating kin'toni to the zu'aan as revenge for their greed.

And constant destruction of natural resources for the sake of advancement. Their religious practices often involve plants, specifically herbs, and flowers. They believe that each plant has an equivalent meaning and incorporate them into their rituals accordingly. One practice involves burying certain plants near certain locations depending on what they wish or manifest for. For example, if they wish to increase their friendship with another clan member, they would bury a yellow rose near a tree that a kin'toni has claimed. With their firm belief in preserving nature, they avoided using materials coming from animals such as bone, leather, and fur, among others.

They don’t condone the slaughter of animals, as they believe that these creatures have their own cycles of life and must not be interrupted by both the kin'toni or the zu'aan. Any item of theirs containing those materials is sure to be made of the remains of their zu'aan victims who they didn’t turn. Marriage rituals don’t occur within the clan due to the rarity of men and the lack of romantic affection. They all have a personal vow of chastity, seeing carnal acts as acts of zu'aan and not of kin'toni. They do, however, have a very extensive burial ritual depending on how the kin'toni died.

If the kin'toni was killed by a zu'aan, the Perdyn has six days of mourning. For the first half, they would offer plants with manifestations of peace for the kin'toni. They would gather in the common hall and write anecdotes of the deceased and burn them using a white candle placed in the center of the hall. For the final half, they would manifest negative outcomes for the zu'aan and burn plants using a black candle, which replaces the white candle in the center. The first half is meant to respect the deceased kin'toni and to wish for a happy afterlife for them while the second half is wishing for the opposite to happen to their killer.

These practices are rarely ever written down and instead passed on through verbal means whenever a new kin'toni arrives. This is mostly because the practices are personal, meaning that although there is a common and general idea to their rituals and practices, the Perdyn adds their own touch to it. This is also due to the nature of manifestations and their mediums. Wherein many flowers, and herbs mean one virtue and therefore may be used as an alternative for one another.
