==History==

The Osoat kin'toni Clan was one of the later official kin'toni clans. Although so new to the world, it became one of the largest clans that people had heard of in the area. Osoat kin'toni Clan was never a peaceful place. The leaders would often change after a single year. In the earliest days of Osoat, wealth turned from gold coins to zu'aan; kin'toni would turn others into them like it was a hobby. Osoat normalized this, starting from tricking people into switching to violence. The ways of the Osoat kin'toni Clan were quickly eliminated sixteen years after their beginning.

They were silenced. Nobody knew how this happened, or why. It wasn't as if they'd been killed; something had made them disappear. The clan symbol, an yalor bird with sharp, jagged teeth, continued to bring fear to those who set their eyes upon it. Over one hundred years after the end of Osoat, signs started showing up of life after one clan mysteriously vanished. Tor'gha kin'toni Clan was wiped from the planet. After the disappearance, the Osoat kin'toni Clan's symbol started showing up around the local area. This was when it was brought back into the public eye.

Although a slow return, they quickly gained popularity with over 100 members present. The leader of the group at the time, Yano, revealed their involvement with the Tor'gha Clan with a scroll. After being discovered twenty years prior, Tor'gha threatened to start war against Osoat for their unnecessary violence towards those that they turned. After eighteen long years in battle, the Tor'gha clan quickly disbanded and joined other clans to stay hidden from the Osoat's wrath. Osoat is known as the one of the most dangerous and most violent clans out there. They are located in Hrein, Taerel.

The founder of the clan is named Hrein Seiki Lezlona. He founded the group shortly after the kin'toni outbreak. They recruited up to 200 members in the beginning. In their history, Hrein, the leader, set up a world for all the members. This included a proper God to believe in, myths, and a corrupt government. The government was set up with Hrein as the President. His vice president, Ona Besil, a strong and cruel kin'toni who was one of the first created during the outbreak, was a manipulative lady's man. This sparked a war between the government and its citizens.

Once the kin'toni began to notice the unfair treatment, they disbanded those in power and took over, creating a clan crisis. The population began to die down. As quickly as it had started, the clan seemed to be over when it mysteriously disappeared as previously mentioned. After its war and return, Osoat kin'toni Clan got back their former reputation; violent and dangerous. The symbol changed over the years, now having sharp, long claws on the feet and deep red eyes. The symbol was like a warning to those who came across it; a sign to stay as far away as possible.

This worked well, and the clan was acknowledged for assisting the kin'toni outbreak by growing the species. The Osoat Clan was never terminated.

==Biology==

The Osoat kin'toni Clan are naturally blessed with good physiques that are a necessity for their constant physical hardships they subject themselves to. They normally tower above conventional zu'aan with an average height of over 6 feet 7 inches. This height advantage gives them a longer stride, helping them cover more ground in their marches. It also helps them see further and allows them to swing their weapons or their arms from a higher position- generating more force that can stun and often crush their enemies. The natural disadvantage of this physique is in enclosed spaces where they have to duck.

And squeeze through obstructions making them unwieldly and clumsy. It also presents them as a larger target to adept archers who can pick them up comfortably from a distance. they have great bone density that helps them withstand falls and hits without breaking bones. It also allows them to use their body as a weapon. Their warriors are known to utilize their forearms and legs in this manner to break wooden shields and bones alike. They can move very fast on open ground and are very agile. This is helped by their toned legs that can generate large amounts of force during jumps or to accelerate from a stop.

They utilize their speed sparingly as it is subjected to their stamina. It is impossible for them to move this quickly for a long time- unlike popular belief, since it would leave them exhausted and vulnerable to any incoming attacks. Their skin is very sensitive to light and can break out into rashes, cracks or bleeding if it is left exposed for a long period of time. In darkness, their skin acts as a first line of defense against cuts and bruises. It is composed of a tough layer that is layered over their muscles that can vary in thickness to protect their most vital organs.

Their teeth is naturally sharpened and lined in small sharp lines that can bite through zu'aan flesh or leather. It helps them tear into meat easily and allows them to suck up blood more efficiently through tiny holes in their teeth. The Osoat kin'toni Clan's members typically have light blue irises with white sclerae and crescent pupils. Their eyes are adapted for seeing in the dark and are thus barely functional in daylight. Their eyes lose their color on exposure to light. Normal daylight conditions can appear as binding light to their hyper sensitive eyes.

Thus, the clan actively avoids the outdoors during the day. Their bodies are known for the strong healing properties that allow them to recover from battle injuries at a faster rate. Unless they are decapitated or sustain serious cuts that require surgery, the chances are that the Osoat warrior will recover from his wounds and be ready to fight the next day. This feature helps them keep their numbers up during battle even after sustaining lots of casualties and gives the illusion that they maintain larger armies than they actually possess.

==Culture==

The culture of the Osoat kin'toni Clan is quite ancient because of its long history. In the beginning, the clan held festivities such as a blood moon dance; this was an extremely popular form of partying for those of the vampiric species. During the festivities, kin'toni would bring a partner to dance on the ballroom floor. It was a fancy, old-fashioned form of entertainment. One of the drinks they offered, similar to red wine, was dark, liquid blood. The Osoat kin'toni Clan are the firsts for this tradition. For the Osoat, it was seen as normal to commit acts of violence; this, like many other things, was an example of their social norms.

For the Osoat, they traditionally wear white, red, or a mix of both coloured gowns with lace and a tight, leather corset to wrap around their waist. The shoes are pointed at the tip, leaving little room for the toes to move - their hair, which was normally a faded black, was long and tied up into buns or braids. If a kin'toni was out in the sun, they would burn to death; this was an issue, so the Osoat created large and oversized white sunhats. They chose the colour white because white reflects the light, keeping the heat away. Although black clothing is traditionally a dark, mysterious colour for a kin'toni.

White was commonly used for the Osoat and many other clans to keep them protected. They would not wear heavy fur coats or mittens when it got cold. The Osoat’s culture is rich and different from others; their clothing is light and seen as the opposite of their reputation. Their festivals are very traditional and formal. Their manner is seen as polite, but with quite a temper. But what do they eat? The Osoat Kin’toni Clan normally feasts on blood, this being their only source of energy. Food is seen as a rarely eaten luxury. The meals, usually being meat with blood used as a sauce, are usually uncooked or cooked over a homemade fire.

Meals are a special event in itself for the Osoat Kin’toni Clan. Seen as a time for kin'toni to get together, it became a popular event for members to get together and feast on whatever they find. Normally, the men would participate in the hunting. The men would hunt the hunters and steal their meats and their blood to feed their families. This was not seen as wrong, unusual, or mean. After hunting, the hunters would join the clan at a long, wooden table with a white lace tablecloth. They would sing songs together, drink the blood like it was a cup of wine and devour the meat like they were starved.

The songs would normally be short and unusual; you could not make out the words and you wouldn’t find the beat typical or even appealing. These songs, made by the first Osoat members, were calls to other kin'toni - like an introduction, a warning of their arrival. The tradition became apart of their culture and took over, becoming a daily ritual.

==Government==

The Osoat kin'toni clan had their humble beginnings as wandering warriors. They had no political systems and forms of government. A simple system of power and authority was at the core of the clan's organization. Being warriors, they prized physical attributes and skill in battle. Brave deeds and accomplishments in battle were rewarded with the awards and recognition. This allowed the best warriors among them to gain respect and build up their reputation within the clan. The most famed warriors would begin to amass widespead support and were able to use the support of their fellow clan members to influence the decision-making.

And dictate the activities of the clan. Fighting for the topmost leadership positions was a common theme among the Osoat kin'toni clan. The greatest warriors among them would assemble their followers and form factions to challenge for the leadership position. This would occur around the time of an existing leader's death or if another warrior's influence had grown to a level where it challenged the leader's. Thus, it was important for an Osoat clan leader to continue to fight and accrue glory in battle.

And maintain a higher level of influence than his rivals. The Osoat clan lacked any systems of administration since they were a militaristic clan. There were no judicial organizations or courts where the clan-members could settle their differences. Any feuds or disagreements were settled in regulated duels where the victor was allowed to give mercy or vanquish the defeated. The high price of justice meant that people were more reserved about getting into disputes with one another. Their Day-to-day life was centered around their preparations for war. It was the duty of all the members to contribute to this war effort in any way they could.

The leader would regularly designate his bodyguards as a police force who was responsible for making sure the clan-members fulfilled their obligations. Clan-members who were not fit to serve in battle or were found to be actively avoiding combat faced the death penalty which was handed out by the leader himself. There was no law except for the wishes of the Clan's leader. He was free to make any proclamations to the clan and his words were then enforced by his soldiers. The members of the Osoat kin'toni clan do not maintain any personal belongings. They believe in the collective good.

And everything they owned was meant to be shared among all members of the clan. This applied to all kinds of items including dwellings, food and weapons. In some way, this give the leader more control over the population. The clan's turn towards religion elevated the position of the priestly classes within their society. They acted as advisors for the leadder in matters of diplomacy and warfare. They picked out important dates for battle and prayed for the blessings of their Gods in the battlefied. While it was a prestigious position, failure to invoke the blessings of the Gods or a defeat in battle could easily turn the clan's opinion against a priest.

He/She would be seen as a unbeloved of the Gods and cast out from their clan.

==Military==

Warfare and fighting are closely ingrained into the Osoat clan's culture. Their history is filled with many historical battles and their people continue to hold glory in the battlefied in the highest regard. So much so that their leaders are chosen on the basis of their performance and skill in the battlefield. There is a popular saying that goes -"an Osoat clan member only knows one way to solve his issues- through fighting." The saying is not far from the truth, the Osoat would much rather fight than spend time in diplomacy or tactics. The members are taught from an early age to fight to survive.

New initiates are subjected to the hardest and roughest conditions where they are forced to survive. They are place in the wild in scarce food conditions where they have to fight nature and even their fellow initiates for whatever food is available. This training breeds in them a primal instict that thinks of fighting as the only solution, even when faced with overwhelming odds. All of the clan's activities are geared towards warfare. They spend their free time training, stockpiling food and weapons in preapration for war. All of the clan's members are expected to take part in warfare.

Thus, their is no designated military within their clan. War also provides a chance for the best fighters within the clan to build their reputation and potentially contest for the leadership position in the future. War is necessary to have a constant stream of competitors for the leadership positions and also allows the leader to maintain his reputation and avoid the challenges of his rivals. The Osoat have specially designated campaign season's when the whole clan travels through zu'aan lands in search of supplies and new members to convert. This helps them replenish their numbers every year and prevents them from dying out.

The winter months are used for preparation and training of the new initiates of the previous campaigns. The Osoat's military activites are also closely tied to their religion. Their priest play a major role in dictating the time and dates of attacks after consultation with their Gods. They also accompany the clan into battle and help to boost the morale with their chantings and prayers. The Osoat kin'toni Clan do not have specialized craftsmena and weapon-makers within their clan. Their armies are quite primitive in terms of technology. Most of their weapons and armor are salvaged from their dead enemies.

This results in a typical mismatching of weapons even among their own army and they have no uniformed clothes to tell them apart in battle. Even without weapons, the Osoat are a dangerous foe- like most kin'toni, since they possess very good physical characteristics that allow them to simply overpower zu'aan when placed on an even field. The clan do not have any well-know strategists or tacticians among them. They rely mainly on the ferocity of their attacks and their incredible fanatism to break their enemies. While scary, they are also vulnerable to more seasoned commanders who can easily exploit the Osoat's fighting style.

This is with their own flanking maneuvers and well-laid traps.

==Religion==

The Osoat kin'toni Clan are a very religious group who take their beliefs and customs seriously. It is fair to say that no part of the clan's activities takes place without a proper consultation and ceremony for the Gods. While it makes them fanatical and almost impossible to break in battle, the same fanaticism leads to their backwardness and an unwillingness to adopt new practices and traditions. This leads to a neverending circle where their backwardness makes them rely more on their religion- propagating even more deep-set fanatical beliefs. The clan worships an God that features in almost all of their insignas and flags.

The God is most commonly portrayed as a red eyed and sharp-clawed bird who is believed to grant warriors bravery in war and tends to their soul in the afterlife. The red eyes are seen as a depiction of the single-minded fanatism and belief of the clan while it's claws are is the brutal hand of the clan that swipes out at all those who stand in their way. The clan have their own priestly classes who worship the God and keep the people loyal to his ways. Their duties include praying for the clan's success and good-fortune, performing rituals, and keeping the clan loyal to their God's.

In wartime, they decide the dates and location of the battles and act as close advisors to the leader. They are the closest thing that the clan has to a tactician. The failure of a priest to succesfully predict a battle was seen as a sign of the God's displeasure and the priest would prompty be sacked as a result. The Osoat clan have dedicated caravans that carry their religious items around when they migrate from place to place. These Holy caravan's are the most lavish possessions of a clan that is otherwise quite backward and lacks any desire for luxury and pampering.

The Osoat kin'toni Clan celebrate many religious festivals in honor of their God. These ceremonies are presided over by their priests and attended by the entire clan. The dates of these ceremonies are not fixed as they are held after every successful victory to thank their God. All the plunder from their campaigns are assembled in a large pile and the clan gather round to join the priest in blessing it before it is used by the clan. The feast that follows this ceremony are massive and can often cause wild beasts to migrate from the area in fear. The clan's leader hands out judgements and procalamations in the name of their God.

No one in the clan is allowed to challenge such a proclamation without facing the wrath of the clan. If a warrior distinguished himself in combat. He becomes a beloved of the God and the people will to follow his progress to see how far he can rise within the clan. This supported their system of leader selection, since they were seen as the ones who were most beloved by the God.
