The origin of the clan dates back one hundred and twenty years. During the Shattering a group of allied clans decided to make a rash choice when they merged their clans to form the Lerequa clan. From there they were able to flee to the K&amp;#039;iantar region to escape the Shattering&amp;#039;s hellish battlefields. Seventy years after the Lerequa kin&amp;#039;toni Clan was founded, the Lerequa kin&amp;#039;toni Clan had split into two warring factions fighting for food. One faction broke away and became the [[Kujami Kin&amp;#039;toni Clan]], for the founder of the Kujami kin&amp;#039;toni Clan tried to take over the Lerequa kin&amp;#039;toni Clan and failed.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
This was for reasons unknown, but some say it was because of religion, some think as food had grown short and others believe that it was because the leaders were hated. Their history in construction and artisan crafts began during the aftermath of the Shattering when a group of surviving Lerequa kin&amp;#039;toni decided that they wanted to rebuild their region and territory from the ground up in an attempt to restore it to its previous durability. This led the surviving Lerequa clan to build a wall between their region and the northernmost region that borders them to provide them with protection.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
This was against one of their rival clans. Although the Lerequa clan experienced a population spike in the recent past, there was a volcano above their region that erupted and caused many people to perish as a result of them not being able to escape the volcanic eruption that ensued. Supposedly, as legend would have it, some of the lava from the volcano began to seep into the sinkhole from above, which caused a brief period of plague and death. Some say that the volcanic eruption was so great that the ground that the Lerequa clan walked on proved to be too hot for them to walk.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Supposedly roughly thirty-five per cent of the clan died from burns on their bodies. Some died directly or from the shock of their burns, most died of infections. After the eruption cycle ended the Lerequa clan found themselves endangered as a clan and on the brink of extinction, so to repopulate themselves to their former sum. They would climb out of their sinkhole region into the great open and search for zu&amp;#039;aan to turn, which they supposedly did each night. After roughly several decades they were able to repopulate themselves back to their past population and thus began their Age of Renaissance and Enlightenment.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Which also spawned many new ideas in construction and exterior and interior design, a revolution that continues to this day. Although the kin&amp;#039;toni and zu&amp;#039;aan races are slowly dying out, the Lerequa clan are one of the few remaining clans in existence with the ability to survive a post-apocalyptic world, thus making them one of the more powerful clans. However, they are not as skilled in defending themselves as other clans.&lt;br /&gt;

==Psychology==&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
They have a pessimistic outlook on life. They see everything as in a state of decay, that entropy is winning and ultimately all things are temporary. Perhaps for this reason they seek to gain the maximum use out of what they do and are disappointed when they are unable to use things to their fullest. They come off as wasteful, but it is out of a desire to use what will soon be gone by other forces. There are three reasons for the Lerequa kin&amp;#039;toni&amp;#039;s behaviour being described as pessimistic in the eyes of those that study it, and here they will be explained below.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The first reason for the Lerequa kin&amp;#039;toni&amp;#039;s pessimistic outlook and behaviour has to do with their lack of good judgement or the abundance of bad judgement on their behalf. For reasons that can&amp;#039;t be explained by certain individuals, the Lerequa kin&amp;#039;toni tends to give oneself an incorrect impression when a clan that is their ally visits them, but eventually, the Lerequa kin&amp;#039;toni comes to its senses and agrees with itself to accept the ally with open arms, but only after reconciling with oneself. The secondary reason for a Lerequa kin&amp;#039;toni displaying such pessimistic behaviour and outlook on life.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Part of it is their inability to control themselves, or their lack of self-control or self-composure. They lack self-control because they act upon impulse and have a hard time thinking for themselves as a result, which may lead some that study them to speculate about their mentality. Perhaps there is a third reason for the Lerequa kin&amp;#039;toni having such pessimism hidden away from its outside world and surrounding, and that is their arrogance. Most Lerequa kin&amp;#039;toni, when studied by kin&amp;#039;toni, have been known in centuries past to demonstrate arrogant and selfish attitudes.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
This is as a result of their not being able to accept defeat. In addition to their three main faults, they have a wide variety of constructive tactics that they use to cross-examine their prey. In their minds, they believe that if they turn their prey into one of them it can only benefit them in the long run, and while this is truly a great deal of the time it is not always the case, for some that have been turned died as a result of too much blood lost. Another such thing that goes on inside a Lerequa kin&amp;#039;toni&amp;#039;s brain transpires. kin&amp;#039;toni in this clan have a thing in the brain that allows it to store one&amp;#039;s thoughts.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
And feelings inside oneself, which causes them to think out loud to themselves at several points during the day when they are sleeping. There is a strange but methodical series of mechanical functions that goes on inside the minds of the Lerequa kin&amp;#039;toni.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;
==Biology==&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The  Lerequa Clan are adapted to the striated, underground Kaelaran Sinkhole. They are long and slender of build,  their joints being reinforced, but also highly flexible for climbing. Due to this, they are lacking in brute lifting strength. Their skin is thin and pigment-less, adapted to allow them to maximize oxygen absorption in the air and water. This allows them efficient cutaneous respiration, but also makes them extremely vulnerable to abrasion and tearing from rough rock surfaces. They have very fine, sparse hair with  highly sensitive tactile whiskers. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
This allows them acute sense of air current changes and proximity. Due to the hair being so sparse and fine, it gives almost no thermal insulation. Their eyes are large, fully spherical and dominate their faces to get the most light that they can in the twilight zone, but these eyes are very sensitive to light. The ears are small, pointed and adapted to pick up sounds in enclosed areas. The nose has  possess hypertrophied nasal and sinus passages, used for making and receiving ultrasonic clicks for moving around in total darkness. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The teeth are  very sharp and needle like for precise and rapid blood extraction with minimal trauma. They have specialized laryngeal membranes changed as to be able generate extremely low-frequency (infrasound) pulses. These are used for long-range communication through rock and water. Their claws are long, curved and retractable, able to grip slick or vertical rock faces. Their joints have patches of specialized cells that are biolumansent, to allow them to communicate and identify each other in the dark zone. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
They have taste buds on their palms of their hands and the soles of their feet to allow them to chemically map the composition of the cave walls and water to track prey. They can secrete a temporary, non-permanent bio-adhesive from pads on their hands and feet.  This means they can crawl on vertical or inverted surfaces for ambush. Their muscles are adapted to allow silent, controlled movements while climbing, but these muscles lack explosive strength. The bones are less dense to allow for being neutrally buoyant in water. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
This was an adaption to swim though flooded tunnels. These bones are less resistant to falls and crushing impacts. The blood  chemistry is changed to bind and use oxygen more efficiently in places like deep sealed caves.  Inside them are  multiple iron-binding glands, used to store and metabolize excess iron from blood intake. With this, they can survive longer amounts of time without feeding. They have the ability to contract their surface blood vessels almost instantaneously to lower blood loss from superficial wounds and helping to conserve fluids.  The downside of this is toes and toes are prone to tissue death if it is used for an extended time. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
They have an larger then normal lung capacity to allow them to  powerful, deep diving in the water at the bottom of the sinkhole. This is not as great a lung capacity as those of some more water-adapted clans. They are able to  process and detoxify certain mild plant toxins native to the sinkhole&amp;#039;s ecosystem. This means they can safely consume local fauna that eat those plants. This can still be overloaded by prolonged consumption of heavily toxic materials. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
==Culture==&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Not many people know about the Lerequa clan&amp;#039;s culture, but those that do have studied it. Some have suggested that the Lerequa clan spends each day making all sorts of things underground in their sinkholes, but those that have studied them in their natural habitat have concluded that the Lerequa and work on both musical instruments and weapons of various kinds during the day before taking the night by storm and looking for zu&amp;#039;aan to turn. Despite their lacking self-control among other things, the Lerequa clan is a well-oiled machine even though most of them rarely get any sleep during the day.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Some say that this is due to the sounds of various creatures which live in the sinkholes and supposedly protect the Lerequa clan. While others generally assume that these creatures serve as the clan&amp;#039;s servants when they are not here during the night hours. Generally speaking, and considering that most of the kin&amp;#039;toni in this clan aren&amp;#039;t able to sleep more than a sixth of the day, Lerequa kin&amp;#039;toni likes to stay active in their sinkholes during daytime hours, going as far as to hold their jam sessions from time to time with their instruments when they have nothing else better to do.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
It is assumed that during these parts of the day they often conjure up masses of their own to play spiritual or other sorts of music on their handmade instruments, all of which they made themselves while in their sinkhole. Sometimes even the creatures come by their area to hear them play and sing, and sometimes it is the creatures that get a chance to hum or sing along. Another thing that is considered a part of the Lerequa clan&amp;#039;s culture is their unique hunting sessions to items from above their homeland to bring back down to their sinkhole region.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
And use effectively in an attempt to make their place a little bit more habitable. Some suggest that the Lerequa and steal stuff from other clans and use these things to make do with whatever they happen to have left at that time, but others have indicated that their nature helps them strive to seek a change to their otherwise interesting and somewhat strange existence as a clan. It is important to note that among the most important parts of their culture lie in their artisan and constructive crafts, as well as their ability to turn zu&amp;#039;aan and scavenge supplies to make their home more tolerable to live in.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
However, one such aspect that is not considered as widely is the fact that most of the kin&amp;#039;toni in this clan generally sleep in the fetal position when lying down, a trait that is common in their clan. Even though this is true, though, some sleep on their stomachs with their heads turned about in a way that allows them to breathe easily and sleep peacefully, and that is a method of sleep often referred to in this clan as the Tynuba position.&lt;br /&gt;

==Government==&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The Lerequa  Clan&amp;#039;s government, known in the kin&amp;#039;toni&amp;#039;ati world as the Empire of Descendants, originally came about close to ten thousand years ago before their civil war between the two groups themselves began in a time when the Shattering had just come to an end. The Lerequa  Empire, as it was then known at that time, consisted of a dozen entities, three of which controlled the military, as well as those that controlled other things. After the Lerequa clan&amp;#039;s civil war came to an end some six years ago, the government&amp;#039;s structure was given a complete overhaul with the leadership roles being given to nine entities instead of twelve; however, one entity served as the religious guide to the clan. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
While four pairs of two made executive decisions regarding this clan&amp;#039;s military, culture, education, and music, it is important to note that each of these four respective positions, all of which are controlled by two separate entities, have exclusive responsibilities that must be taken seriously and not for granted. Even so, the eight entities in charge of these four respective sections of their clan&amp;#039;s government often meet with the Spiritual Advisor of this clan. In a meeting to determine what laws should be passed or what laws should undergo revision. Any laws that are passed go into effect from that moment onward until the Spiritual Advisor no longer deems this said law necessary.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In addition to the passing and legislating of laws, each pair of entities responsible for governing their respective sections of this clan&amp;#039;s government must also have the population&amp;#039;s best interest at heart, for if an entity is proven to be corrupt or unfaithful to his or her clan he will immediately be tried amongst his or her peers at which point they can either suspend or remove him or her from his or her position. It is also important to consider that when a member of the Lerequa  Government one can continue to be a member of this government for up to ten years or until another election is held, which is generally once every 10 years. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
If, however, a sudden emergency pops up and the entity cannot fulfil its position as a member of the government. An interim replacement will be sworn in to head his station while he is gone. When an election is held, which is generally once every 10 years, the population will have plenty of opportunities to voice their opinion on who they want as their leaders, and while forums are often conducted meetings take place as well to determine who can stand out among the rest. Therefore, with each forum, the candidates and incumbents will have opportunities to express and explain their plans for a future of persistence and prosperity. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
It is generally assumed, as a result of the history of this clan&amp;#039;s government, that the Empire of Descendants is one of the most well-organized governments in the kin&amp;#039;toni&amp;#039;ati world, although other governments can easily outclass them.&lt;br /&gt;

==Military==&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
A Lerequa  kin&amp;#039;toni is automatically initiated into this clan&amp;#039;s militia and empire from the moment that he or she is turned; furthermore, anyone that is initiated into this clan&amp;#039;s militia must be able to make weapons and go through extensive imperial exercises, which may also explain the nature of this so-called &amp;quot;Empire.&amp;quot; For this very reason, most of the Lerequa clan are generally considered militants and soldiers of the clan. The Lerequa clan doesn&amp;#039;t believe in the concept of a military. They would prefer to call themselves an empire, and instead of their status of a clan, being a factor it is their organization that serves as a primary reason for their empire being so complex as a respective unit. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
It is said that when most Lerequa kin&amp;#039;toni participate in military exercises they often do so in honour of those that came before them and those that have died; however, the purpose of this clan&amp;#039;s exercises and imperial regimen is to fight for their future in the name of their clan founder, Aldrodther. When a group of Lerequa kin&amp;#039;toni engage in exercises and other military-related activity the common activities performed, includes sprints, target practice, and a custom-made obstacle course (made by the leaders of the Military department of the clan&amp;#039;s government) that involves climbing, jumping, reaching great distances, and other similar exercises of that nature. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Generally speaking, any kin&amp;#039;toni that is turned is made a member of this clan and its military, but since it is hard to determine which ones are stronger than most it is not uncommon for the leaders of the Lerequa  Imperial Troop to run several basic training tests on each fully-turned kin&amp;#039;toni. These tests are often conducted under strict supervision and can determine which kin&amp;#039;toni are the strongest. The first of these tests, known as the Uca Cxala (Jump Rope Exam), tests the kin&amp;#039;toni&amp;#039;s ability to complete as many jumps over a revolving jump rope as possible within two minutes, as well as the kin&amp;#039;toni&amp;#039;s overall stamina. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The second and final basic training test, known as the Qim Tylnuim (Push-up Sit-up Exam), tests a kin&amp;#039;toni&amp;#039;s ability to perform as many push-ups as possible within sixty seconds, followed by an ability to perform as many sit-ups as possible within sixty seconds. This has proven to be the more decisive test as it shows how the typical kin&amp;#039;toni&amp;#039;s stamina is put on constant examination. If a third test is needed, one of the leaders of the clan&amp;#039;s government&amp;#039;s military branch will be responsible for supervision as the kin&amp;#039;toni performs a sprint lap around the military base. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
If the lap is completed within a certain amount of time they will be given the ability to participate in missions along with their clan militants. However, if one were not to complete their lap in that amount of time. They would have to continue basic training and also undergo one of the two basic training exams again before they can attempt the speed run around the military base.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
==Religion==&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Lerequa kin&amp;#039;toni isn&amp;#039;t very religious, although most of them have a slight faith in the religion of Vyrism, where the god of this particular religion is the clan founder, which, in this case, is Aldrodther. They created an alternate religion that is similar to Vyrism in at least several different ways, but this religion, known as Zimaloism, is the worship of one&amp;#039;s ancestors and predecessors, as well as the worship of those that have died. Assuming that most of the clanmates in the Lerequa clan aren&amp;#039;t very religious, they generally meet in their full population in a large temple.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
This is in the deepest part of their sinkhole region known as the Gvolnazk Dnexodba, or, translated from their secret language to English, the Church of Ancestral Spirits. Each time they meet, usually once every three months, they participate in a strange kind of worship where they dance in the water and even through fire. This breathing of fire and water dancing is generally believed to summon their ancestors, all of which helped shape their current existence; however, some assume that there isn&amp;#039;t any particular reason for this at all and that they only do this for fun.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
There is no evidence of the ancestors being real, though. Even so, after the worship is complete their Spiritual Religious Leader, often referred to as the Dnexol, gives a series of brief sermons regarding their world&amp;#039;s current state and gives an idea of how one can achieve prosperity in their afterlife. Considering that the Dnexol control this clan&amp;#039;s religious branch it is important for the Dnexol to rule over most of the clan&amp;#039;s religious aspects. He or she is responsible for travelling to other regions where his clan&amp;#039;s allies are and giving speeches on his clan&amp;#039;s religious faiths.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
And how his clan&amp;#039;s religious faiths are common and trendy among the kin&amp;#039;toni&amp;#039;ati community. These speeches, often considered to be sermons of religious practice and ingenuity, attract the attention of many kin&amp;#039;toni leaders within the governments of other clans, and they provide helpful insight on how his clan can be more faithful; therefore, these speeches, also known as Rypqans, are often met with helpful advice and criticisms. Every twelve years there is a meeting between religious advisors and leaders from their allied three or four clans known as the Meeting of Religions.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
This meeting involves religious advisors from a few of the Lerequa clan&amp;#039;s allies and one of its foes and often proves to be a very successful get together, and as a result, each idea from each religious advisor is taken to heart and not for granted. Furthermore, the most important questions often get sent to the Dnexol from the Lerequa clan, who is often asked about his clan&amp;#039;s religious beliefs and overall persistence of faith; however, even though all of the answers provided by the Dnexol is truthful, not everyone looks at these answers or responses as such, with at least one criticizing the Dnexol&amp;#039;s response.&lt;br /&gt;

==Miscellany==&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The Minemi clan and the Xfaxa clan are two of the Lerequa clan&amp;#039;s allies and two of the Lerequa clan&amp;#039;s foes include the Cutiausk and Galroda clans. The Lerequa kin&amp;#039;toni Clan encountered the Cutiausk kin&amp;#039;toni clan in the past and they made a joint effort with another one of the Lerequa clan&amp;#039;s foes, The Galroda kin&amp;#039;toni Clan to invade the Minemi clan&amp;#039;s home turf, but the Lerequa clan managed to catch them in the act and attacked them. To hunt for big creatures, they generally look at the creature and study its movements for such a period.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
If it doesn&amp;#039;t do anything rash or notice the kin&amp;#039;toni, the kin&amp;#039;toni will then close in on the creature. Since most non-zu&amp;#039;aan creatures they go after are much bigger than then they generally go after the front left leg first, assuming that the large animal doesn&amp;#039;t notice and is oblivious to what is going on. It seems as though the Lerequa clan&amp;#039;s methods may be failing them, but with the next Ice Age approaching their sinkholes could soon be a haven for many other large creatures that may soon journey to their turf. The clan lives in crude wooden huts that are stacked together on wooden scaffolding.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
These are stacked up the walls of the sinkhole. These huts are rather rickety and have to be repaired a lot. The huts are rather small, around six-foot by six-foot square and six-foot-tall. The huts are plastered with mud to stop the sunlight from getting inside. The Lerequa clan&amp;#039;s sinkhole region, given that it is generally a haven for large creatures, has proven to be one of the great wonders and mysteries of the kin&amp;#039;toni&amp;#039;ati world, even more, mysterious than the construction methods of the Minemi clan&amp;#039;s region. In some areas of the sinkhole, there are candles in stone holders being installed.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Upon more than half of the huts, making it possible for most of the kin&amp;#039;toni to see when they are walking. Several places within the sinkhole serve as a primary home to those that were exiled from other clans; these places, often referred to as Zwaus, are essentially homeless shelters for kin&amp;#039;toni trying to become more independent. This is despite their dark past with their previous clan, which they were permanently exiled from. However, these refugee kin&amp;#039;toni, often considered within the kin&amp;#039;toni&amp;#039;ati community, at least in this part of Terael, to be Cazluae (plural for Cazlua).&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
They come from oppressive backgrounds and are often seen as reclusive beings who would prefer not to associate themselves with their past. There is the dark fact that most of the clans distrust them, some even thinking they are spies for other clans. Some even hate them and try to kill them or at least drive them out of the clans land. Because these refugees are often mistrusted and mistaken for spies, most of these refugees tend to stay in seclusion. Some in the clan want to enslave them. Even so, they are given help and are also advised on how to live in the Lerequa clan&amp;#039;s way.&lt;br /&gt;
