==History==

The [[Er'augho Icy Tundra|Er'augho Icy Tundra]] had been a cold wasteland since before the sheets of ice began to threaten the rest of Taerel. That meant that there were cities and other places that were forced to relocate their homes so they wouldn’t be forced to adapt to the freezing weather that had the potential to kill them where they stood. There were many zu'aan and even many kin’toni that left the Icy tundra in search of a place to build their city where they wouldn’t have to worry about the ice threatening to put an end to their city. the zu'aan from Kinowar city, however, weren't worried about the ice.

Kinowar city had been built on a heavy foundation of bedrock, and because of this, the sheets of ice that were coming towards their city ended up moving around it, unable to move the bedrock to get through. No matter the size of the ice sheet, it always smashed into the side of the bedrock mountains and moved around the city, creating icy plains that drove animas and other cities away. While that was happening, the zu'aan from Kinowar city noticed that they might not be able to leave their city to get the things that they needed, although that didn’t seem to be a problem for them.

While the Kinowar zu'aan were busy becoming resilient to the cold temperatures that only seemed to get worse, they were also slowly becoming more fearful of the things around them. This meant that they were scared to leave their city for fear that if they did, there wouldn’t be anything left to come back to. They were scared that there wasn’t anything beyond the ice sheets worth going to see and so there was no point in leaving their homes. And finally, they were scared that they would somehow succumb to the cold, even though they were well prepared to travel any distance in the cold.

As time went on and the zu'aan from Kinowar watched other cities pack their things and leave before the ice stopped them from doing so. They retreated into the deepest parts of their city so they knew for sure that the ice wouldn’t be able to ruin their homes, and they decided that was how they were going to stay. It was decided that the zu'aan from the city would stay in their homes unless they absolutely had to go out, as that was how they knew they would be safe. Over time, however, their reluctance to leave their homes contributed to the thinning of their population.

Eventually, there weren't many new zu'aan that were born, and that was because the older zu'aan were too scared to have more children for fear that there were going to be complications that would end up with the mother being killed from the birth of their children as there wasn’t much in the way of proper medial care within the city. Eventually, it had become a law that children would need to be born, and so they made sure there were enough doctors that would be able to help with any issues that arose.

==Psychology==

Because of the way they decided to seclude themselves into their homes, they slowly started to become fearful of their surroundings. There were things that never used to scare them that were the bane of their existence now. Some of these things included leaving their homes, moving into another building, or even having to make small changes to their way of life. The way they would do things was very set in their ways. They had specific routines that they would follow as they didn’t want to have to wonder about anything. They would do as they wanted and make sure they weren't scared of too much during the day.

While this was how they were, there were some zu'aan that weren't as scared of everything as the rest of them were. That meant that there were some zu'aan that would scare the rest of the city be doing things that the rest wouldn’t do. Because of this, they were usually the ones that would join the army or lead the city since they weren't too scared to do so. Since they had all moved closer to the center of the city, there wasn’t a lot that the zu'aan wouldn’t notice going on. While they were so scared to go out, they weren't scared to gossip about the things that other zu'aan were doing.

If there was anything going on that they could see, they would do immediately go to their windows and would watch before going to tell other zu'aan about what they had seen. Their houses were close enough to each other that they would be able to see right into the windows of other houses, and so they would be able to gain an insight into the lives of the other zu'aan and would be able to talk about each other with each other. While the gossip was something that could become and issue, there weren't many issues among them.

It was known that they would freely talk about each other to pass their days and because of that there were times when they would perform for the other houses so there was something to talk about that would keep them entertained for a while. They would make sure that they were happy since they were stuck in their homes all the time. the gossip was the best way for them to pass their time, and a great way to make sure that other zu'aan were feeling better if they were getting too scared of things they couldn’t control. That was how the city worked, and knowing they were able to do that easily brought them peace and happiness where there would usually be fear.

The more scared the zu'aan from the city would be, the more they would have to rally to make sure they were still happy. If there was too much fear, there was no way they would be able to survive for long, and so they would make sure that they were doing things that would be able to keep them happy.

==Culture==

Since they were a fearful city of zu'aan, there weren't many things they could or even would do that would set them apart from other cities. Before they were forced to stay in their homes for fear of what could happen to them if they left, they were a blossoming city. They would go out and talk to zu'aan that would come to visit them from other cities. They were quite social and would often invite other zu'aan over to their city so they could teach them their ways. This changed when the sheets of ice began threatening their cities and the other zu'aan were forced to flee.

The zu'aan from Kinowar city decided that they didn’t need to leave, and therefore they were abandoned by the other cities that knew it was best to leave. Because of the cold and their fears, the zu'aan from Kinowar city had decided that they would stay in their homes unless there was a good reason for them to leave their homes. Because of this, there were less zu'aan being born since the zu'aan wouldn’t go out and meet each other. As well, they were also too scared to want to have children as there weren't many doctors within the city that would be able to assist if there were any complications.

So instead, many couples that did emerge would only have one or maybe two children so that their city would carry on, but that was it. On top of that, many children that were born wouldn’t leave their homes because they would be filled with the same fear that their parents had, and so they wouldn’t want to go out and look for homes to live in on their own as they felt much safer staying with their parents. Some of the children that were born grew up knowing that the fear their parents felt was normal to them, but they didn’t feel the same.

Because of this, these braver zu'aan would go into government jobs or becoming the military so that they could protect their city. they were regarded as the brave and scary zu'aan because they didn’t hold the same fear as their parents did. Since there were some zu'aan that would go out and do jobs outside of their homes, the city began to be rebuilt. The children that went into the government were able to make sure that they had food and other supplies, as well as first aid if they needed it.

While it wasn’t enough to get their parents to come out of their homes, they were usually told that what they were doing was appreciated by their parents. They would be thanked because they were willing to face the cities biggest fears to get the things that were needed for the city to continue to prosper.

==Government==

The government for Kinowar city was made up of the bravest zu'aan from the city that didn’t have any interest in being part of the military. While they were regarded as the bravest zu'aan from their city, they were really only average in the eyes of the other cities, but that wasn’t a problem for them.
When they became the leaders of the government, there was a lot of work they had to do to make sure that the city would have enough food coming into it, as well as sending out things they were able to use as a bartering chip, or even as a way to make money.

Once they were able to establish a way to make money properly, they were tasked with making sure they were keeping streams of food and other resources coming into the city. As well, they had to form ties with other cities and their militaries to make sure they were protected and had alliances if there were any battles that would happen. While there weren't many times that the Kinowar army would be sent out beyond the limits of the city, it was good for them to know that they had options in case they did have to go farther, and something happened.

As well, they had the ability to call the other armies into their city to aide them with things they might need if the ice was to get to their homes and they needed help. It took them a while, but the zu'aan were able to build the city back up and keep it from a place that would mean their certain doom. It was good for them as they were then able to expand their efforts and bring other zu'aan into their city. While it didn’t happen often, there were other zu'aan that were interested in coming to their city to stay as they craved the isolation and safety of staying within a city where there was no drama, or no incidents that would happen.

Other zu'aan would seen out Kinowar city as a safe haven and the leaders would welcome them into the city with open arms, as they didn’t have any reason not to. They would make sure the zu'aan knew what would happen if they were to stay there, as the cold was hard to deal with, as well as the lack of social interaction. To some, this was exactly what they were looking for, and so they would come to stay in Kinowar city, just so they could escape. As well, there were often prisoners from other cities that would be sent to Kinowar city as that way they wouldn’t be able to escape.

The cold would be too much for them in itself, but the fact that there weren't many people in the city, so crime wasn’t much of an option.
They would be forced to stay in their prison until they were released or taken back to their cities, having been stuck in isolation until they went borderline crazy.

==Military==
Before the other zu'aan cities had left, the military from Kinowar city weren't as scared as they would become. Because they lived in the icy tundra, there wasn’t much in the way of battles that would happen as the cold temperatures made it hard to do so. That was something they liked as it meant that they were able to do as they pleased. Since they didn’t have battles or much in the way of attacks from kin’toni, much of the military would spend their time exercising to pass the time, or they would go through the city and aide any zu'aan that needed anything.

They were well trained with medical care, and so they would help anyone who was injured, or any elderly zu'aan that might need assistance getting to and from anywhere. As the ice sheets began to threaten the cities, causing many of them to flee in search of a better home, the Kinowar zu'aan, especially those in the military, went to help them get out of their cities. It was realized that Kinowar city itself was able to stay, as the bedrock mountain made it so the ice sheets wouldn’t get to them, or at least not to the central-most parts of the city.

Since they were able to stay, the military decided they would set out to aide the other cities to get away from the ice sheets. They believed they would be able to help and then come back to their city, but upon return, there was no way for them to effectively gain access back to the city. the ice sheets had left much destruction in their wake, as well as freezing temperatures. Because of that, there were many zu'aan soldiers that lost their lives just in trying to get over the ice to get back to the city.

There were only a few soldiers that were able to get back to the city, and when they got there, they found that many of the zu'aan there had started to succumb to the fear that would eventually take over their way of life.
When the new zu'aan grew and became braver than their parents, they formed another military as well as the government and they were able to find ways to make sure that everyone was taken care of. They were able to form their alliances with the other cities and in doing so they became stronger.

The military was able to change their ways and went on to make alliances with other cities, making them stronger when they needed to be, and so they were able to take on more challenges, the biggest of which was rebuilding the city from the ground up. There were many buildings and establishments that needed to be fixed or rebuilt, and so the army decided they would be the ones that would complete that work.

==Religion==

Since they were stuck in their homes, their religion had become something the zu'aan from Kinowar city came to rely heavily on. The zu'aan from Kinowar city believed that their god, the same god that sent the ice, would be able to give them anything they could ever need. They believed that they would never have to worry about anything because it would be taken care of for them.
As well, they believed that there was a reason that the ice sheets never took down their city. It was believed that they were chosen, but not that the bedrock mountain behind their city was the reason that the ice sheets didn’t ruin their city just as they had others.

Before the ice sheets changed everything about their way of life, the zu'aan from Kinowar city weren't as religious. They thought more of themselves as opposed to the fact that there could be a higher power out there that was watching over them. When the ice began to threaten their lives, there were a few zu'aan that began talking about how there must be something out there that was watching over them because they were safe in their city. It wasn’t something that was widely accepted through the city, but as more time passed, and the more it was talked about, the more zu'aan began to believe in that god.

Quickly, this religion became something that would keep them calm when they started to believe that nothing else would. There was a certain comfort for them in knowing that they were able to pray to their god to make sure things would continue to go their way. There were even come zu'aan that would pray that they would be able to stay in their homes, and that their society wouldn’t be fixed as they didn’t want to go back to having jobs. They were happy with being able to be inside where they didn’t have to be scared. It was believed by many that so long as they could stay inside, their society would adapt, and therefor they wouldn’t have to make many changes.

When their society was slowly being rebuilt, the believers in the religion made sure that they would be able to see their religion reflected more in the way their government was. It wasn’t a priority for the new leaders of the government, but because they wanted to accommodate their zu'aan, they decided that they would incorporate the religion into the law more.
This made the zu'aan from the city happy, as they believed they would be able to influence the laws more, but the leaders were smart. They made sure that the religion could influence their laws, but it wasn’t the deciding factor.

With that, there was nothing the zu'aan could do aside from trust in the leaders and keep the majority of their religion to themselves. It wasn’t the more ideal situation, but it was what ended up working for the zu'aan from Kinowar city.
