==History==

In the year 4E 43, just centuries after the founding of what used to be the Byrziazna clan, a massive civil war began to unfold within the clan, and the clan had essentially split into three factions from that point onward, one of which was led by the socialist independent politician Mierdryn and would break away from the clan and retreat to another region under the new clan name of Kaleachtia in an attempt to find solace moving forward. The other two factions would then fight each other for nearly twenty years before the largest side was forced to retreat in an attempt to cut their losses and avoid permanent extinction.

For that reason, Mierdryn no longer associated herself with the Byrziazna clan name and wanted nothing to do with that clan's region from that point onward. Eventually, Mierdryn decided to gather up a group of fellow leaders from within the Kaleachtia clan and reluctantly choose to attempt to get over her past and try to start anew, so in the year 4E 97, she and a few members of her cabinet went to their clan's former regional residence to find that the clan that she was once a member of had grown substantially in population. Nevertheless, she asked the clan's new leaders if they would be interested in an alliance with her clan.

And she was laughed at by her former clan's rogue rulers, at which point she had to cut all ties with them and chose therefore to leave the region be and let her former clan sort out its differences on its own. Things would then take a very rocky turn, however. During the height of the Shattering in the year, 4E 141 Mierdryn discovered that an incoming threat was to invade the Kaleachtia region within the next couple of weeks through one of her chief Fzaizanuas (or, War Secretaries), so she was forced to face her fear head-on and summon her clan's entire population of more than fourteen thousand to battle their foes in the Byrziazna clan.

Its population had climbed to more than 4700. It seemed like a losing battle at first, but Mierdryn faced her fears without relent or remorse, using her shield and sword to kill many from the opposition before the shield was knocked out of her right hand; to make matters worse, one of the leaders of the Byrziazna clan stabbed Mierdryn in the ribs, killing her instantly and forcing the clan to take drastic action. At the end of the so-called "Battle of the High Winds," the Kaleachtia clan got some much-needed assistance from the Invernus clan, whose army was one of the biggest in Terael at the time.

And they managed to work together to drive the Byrziazna clan to near-extinction and force them to retreat; the Byrziazna clan would end up going extinct from battle fatigue just centuries after the events of the Shattering. Even so, the Kaleachtia clan's victory would be short-lived despite their alliance with the Invernus clan enduring the test of time, and as a result, the Kaleachtia clan have been reduced to a present-day population of less than five hundred and twenty. Now, with a new Ice Age on the horizon, could Kaleachtia's cold-natured lifestyle serve as an advantage long-term?

==Psychology==

In terms of mentality and psychological behaviour, the typical Kaleachtia kin'toni is very intelligent, being able to speak in more than seven different languages while serving as a remarkable carpenter and constructionist. Given that, it comes as no surprise that Kaleachtia kin'toni is just naturally good at certain things, especially if they set their minds to it in an attempt to work as one, and even though they have these qualities, they are also very paranoid about certain things that happened earlier or previously in the clan's archival chronology. Strangely enough, most Kaleachtia kin'toni has a great sense of hand-eye coordination and are not afraid to collaborate.

When working together on a common goal the typical group of Kaleachtia kin'toni can accomplish a great load in just a short given period, thus making them mentally stronger in the process while retaining their sense of behavioural balance. It is not hard for a Kaleachtia being to lose its focus, however, for if even one thing in a certain Kaleachtian's performance is lacking, then chances are the entire performance could potentially fall flat, which may fail. Nonetheless, Kaleachtians are very persistent and speaking of Kaleachtians being persistent, they have a never-give-up attitude and outlook in life.

First of all, and most importantly, the Kaleachtian believes that the most urgent part of existing is learning how to rise above the hate that surrounds oneself and finding a way to overcome almost any obstacle that stands in one's way. It is vitally critical for a Kaleachtian to have this kind of mindset because it helps one face tomorrow without fear or reluctance, and it also helps one face whatever must come their way when the inevitable does occur, which is critical considering most Kaleachtians are very hard on themselves. Given that, it comes as no legitimate surprise that the typical Kaleachtian has a lot of potential as a kin'toni.

This is as well as a lot of pride taken in what one does with his fellow clan members, which makes him very much stand out as a whole while distinguishing himself from other kinds of kin'toni. A typical Kaleachtian does have some weaknesses, however; in addition to one's slight imbalance on various aspects like dexterity and reach, they are fast to anger and are very paranoid about certain things. As they are fast to anger, they can lash out small insults and things and a lot makes kin'toni angry. The fact Kin'tons in the clan are paranoid means that they are very suspicious and can not trust that well.

==Biology==

The Kaleachtia are adapted to the hot, geothermally active, seismically active Okoli Caldera. They are short and stout of build. Their torsos are heavy and low slung, with legs that are disproportionately strong legs. With this, they have exceptional stability on uneven, shifting volcanic slopes and earthquakes. This stocky build makes them slow on flat, open ground. Their skin is shaded in shades of black, grey and even some orange to blend with rock and lava. The skin is adapted to be highly resistant to acidic corrosion from geothermal steam and volcanic runoff.

This stops their skin being burned away in the caustic environment. This skin, resistant as it is to heat and acids, is prone to damage by frostbite and highly alkaline solutions. They lack all hair, having in replacement stiff, porcupine-like quills along the spine and neck with calcium and iron reinforcement. These help protect from rockfall and shrapnel. These spines are fragile, as they are adapted as an crumple zone to absorb the impact. The eyes are bright orange in color, and protected by specialized polarized lenses formed by an semi-crystalline layer and adapted from a nictitating membrane.

These are adapted to lower the glare and reflectivity from black volcanic glass and heat shimmer. Their ears are very long, pointed and wide. The nose is able to filter out chemicals using an advanced, three-stage filtration system. It actively neutralizes and removes dangerous sulfurous and acidic gases from the inhaled air. This system has lead to their sense of smell being dulled compered to other kin'toni. The teeth are coated with an specialized, heat-resistant ceramic-like enamel that is adapted for biting though the rocks needed to keep up their mineral intake.

The downside of their need for minerals is that they rely on the rocks of their native region to get what is needed for their mineral laced teeth and bones. They have claws that are exceptionally tough and short, with chisel-like points to grip into the hard volcanic rock and climbing near vertical slopes. These claws are blunt, and therefore make bad weapons. The feet and hands have hyper dense, specialized heat resistant pads. These are very resistant to the effects of the heated rocks, but these pads have no tactile feedback, leading them to be clumsy on wet, icy or unseen unstable landscapes.

Legs and feet are thick and heavily muscled, to allow them to sustain high-impact force. This aids them when descending steep rock faces.These muscles are not adapted for movement over horizontal, sustained running on flat ground, leading to fast exhaustion. The bones are strengthened with additional calcium and iron to endure constant minor seismic tremors and climbing impacts more easy to endure. These bones are heavy, making climbing over fragile areas harder, and making them unable to swim.

They have lungs with expanded air sacs that allow them to hold their breath for extended periods, an adaption to deal with toxic sulfur plumes or gas vents. These sacs are an weak point in their biology, and easy to damage.

==Culture==

typical Kaleachtians like to make certain kinds of jars and pots simply by spinning a stone wheel around while the wet clay solidifies on top of the spinning stone. However, typical Kaleachtians like to make sure that the clay stays firm and still and doesn't fall flat or collapse into itself, so they will normally keep it in motion with one hand grazing the right side of the jar and the other hand is used to keep the stone wheel turning. When this process is put to good use, the jar or pot will be fired in a fire to turn it solid. The pots and dishes this clan uses are known to be decorated with slips made from very wet coloured clay.

Another part of the clan's culture has to do with how they eat certain things, including fruits and vegetables. Normally one of the Kaleachtians will climb up a large tree in the region to look for fruits such as the Azeuea, and once a bunch of fruit has been gathered it is then stored in a large handmade pot, where they then will retreat with the pot of fruit into a fairly large cave, where it is believed that they share the fruit with several of the clan's animals as well as with each other. They do this secretly in the hopes that the food will serve as a healthy dessert, and it often serves them well, although some typically experience stomach aches the following night.

Surprisingly enough, the Kaleachtia clan have been working on a large library of scrolls, clay tablets, carved stone tablets and even a few books. This library is full of ancestral scriptures that date back to the clan's origins. There are around three thousand years of archives up to the present. Many Kaleachtians have agreed to dedicate their lives to becoming scribes telling stories of their youth and those of their ancestors. The library, which takes up roughly a cave's worth of information, is expected to be completed within the next few years, and when it is completed, the Kaleachtian government will have the privilege of having all that info.

In the meantime, the caves containing the tomes have since had all of their entrances blocked to promote safety. A final note of importance to consider about the Kaleachtia kin'toni clan includes a strange part of their personality. In addition to being fruit and vegetable enthusiasts, they are also frequent collaborators of architectural construction. When a Kaleachtian wants a house-made carved out of the stone of Cham'Hakkor Caldera, he will usually enlist the help of several of his close fellow Kaleachtians. Over the many thousands of years the clan has been around, the Caldera has a lot of houses carved out of the cliffsides.

Houses are got two via wooden ladders and walkways that are supported by thick wooden beams. Their houses are small and sparse and are composed of one big front room and two smaller back rooms. The front room is used for social reasons. One of the back rooms is used to store food that is dried, salted or pickled to preserve it, spare pots, plates, clothing, blankets and so on. The other backroom is used as sleeping quarters. The beds are wooden and lined with dry grass, they have blankets made of furs. The rooms are roughly carved out of the rock and are decorated with paintings on the walls made with coloured clays.

==Government==

The Kaleachtia's clan's Kunvuak (or, Council) consisted of roughly seven to ten leaders from three different branches, and it was presided over by a governmental clan leader, or Kunaayal. The Kunaayal has the biggest responsibility as the leader of the Kaleachtians, but he also seems to have much less of a say now than he did back then. Currently, to save time, the Kunvuak consists of five Triazunae, five Puvryzyans and one Kunaayal who presides over them and can be overruled by the leader with the most power in either one of the two branches. The Kunaayal is responsible for coming up with the legislations that are to be revised.

They are responsible for having them amended and deliberated upon by the leaders of each of the two branches of this government. After his or her initial executive suggestion the Triazunae and Puvryzyans will gather together to deliberate and debate on what revisions or amendments to the Kunaayal's original legislative command need to be made for the clan to survive in the long run and once the legislative amendments are made the law is then passed, without any further deliberation, and the Kaleachtian kin'toni population must then abide by these new legislative amendments to avoid the risk of societal consequence.

It is generally believed that what the Kunaayal commanded was the law, and all those that opposed the aforementioned law would have to try and come up with a legislative amendment to the law that complements the Kunaayal's original legislation but provides for the clan's best interest at heart in the short term; however, since the impeachment of former clan leader Ubash Zagyur in the year 4E 16000 as a result of centuries of corruption within the governmental ranks it is customary for the typical governmental official to abide by and agree to a given set of commandments enforced by the rest of the government themselves.

Thus, if a clan or governmental leader were to disobey and not abide by this set of given commandments, the guilty suspect would then be investigated in an attempt to get to the truth by way of a test by sunlight that is given directly by the clan's most powerful Puvryzyan, and if the guilty suspect is proven innocent, then that suspected leader will be admonished of his guilt and be allowed to rejoin the government as an official, but his or her activities and suspect behaviours would be closely monitored by an appointed Guzexra (or, Clan Overseer), who would often be the first to point the clan leader or governmental official's wrongdoing if it is first spotted.

==Military==

The Kuryarquiar is essentially the clan's main military. here are five main leaders of the clan's military, three of which preside over the soldiers and their activities full time. These three military commanders, which are commonly referred to as the Geulains (or, Chosen Ones), are essentially the clan's three leaders that direct all military activities, including missions to other regions to spread future peace and tranquillity. The two other military figures from within the clan's government are known as the Krugrayus and they are responsible for deciding what the clan's military will do during critical times.

Common military activities involve stretching, jogging, running, jumping jacks, and a myriad of different things involved with cardio and exercise. Given that, it comes as no surprise that most Kaleachtians exercise regularly when in the military and their excessive working out allows them to become stronger and burn body fat. During critical missions, a group of designated Kuryarqularans will temporarily serve on the clan's military positions while the Geulains and Krugrayus are busy leading the clan to a certain region in which their mission will begin. And as a result, it is during these critical missions that the Kaleachtians shine in darkness when the time is just right.

For when they use their knowledge of what they believe is good and right to convince their try and foreign allies to support them in their upcoming fight against the cold; this does not work that much. However, during other critical missions such as invasions and territory defence, the Kaleachtians use their weapons of stone to their advantage to try and give their enemies a day of reckoning that they would otherwise not see coming. When it comes to other certain things that are related to the Kuryarqular, more than 90 per cent of the total kin'toni population of the clan are currently active in the military.

Nonetheless, the Kaleachtia clan have a strong military that regularly makes weapons in their free time and they often believe that no time is wasted during the making of these weapons. The weapons the clan uses are mostly stone-headed clubs with wooden handles and short blades of volcanic glass. They do use spears and arrows with volcanic glass heads at times. Their armour is very light and flexible, made of leather that only covers the torso, lower legs, lower arms and head. The kin'toni in the Kuryarquiar are very good at fighting in rocky and mountainous terrain, but not that good at fighting in open ground or forests.

==Religion==

The Kaleachtian kin'toni is quite religious and takes slightly more pride in one's religion than other kin'toni do with theirs; furthermore, the Kaleachtian kin'toni, chooses to believe in spirits that live in large rocks, lakes and rivers and considering large rocks, lakes and rivers as a godsend of some sort. The reason for their faith in spirits that live inside boulders and rivers is not yet distinguishable in the present day, but according to some Kaleachtian kin'toni, their faith in these spirits and other spirits like them is generally a result of their ancestors fighting as hard as they could to prevent the next generation from being wiped out completely.

Predominantly, there is also a book of poetry dedicated to the concept of this very Kaleachtian belief, and it can be found in the deepest part of the smallest cave should one be able to look hard enough for it. During a typical church service or mass, the typical group of Kaleachtian spirit worshippers will converge in a medium-sized cave that is often referred to by the Kaleachtians themselves as Vubryzra (or, Hall of Holiness), where the two most powerful religious leaders of the Kaleachtia clan's government will lead the clan in worship and praise, after which another religious leader will give a sermon.

This is about the spirits that are believed to live within the confines of these large boulders as well as the sea before leading in a closing prayer. The crowd will then disperse and return to their normal nightly routines and activities. Generally speaking, roughly 86 per cent of the Kaleachtian kin'toni population are active and religious Vubryzrans, with only a slight minority of them choosing to live agnostically; however, that number continues to vary with each passing decade as more and more of the Kaleachtian population manage to find a way to convert some of the nonbelievers to Vubryzra after much deliberation and conversation. Indeed, Vubryzra is a very common religion in this clan as it has been for many thousands of years.

This is even dating back to the days of the clan's ancestors, and with a new Ice Age approaching their faith could very well be tested in every which way imaginable. They worship through joyous individual public sacrifices and have many holidays that involve great feasts. The holidays celebrate prophets, major deities, historical events, minor deities, great priests, past revelations, the harvest, the solstices. The clergy of this religion are of both genders and their function is of spiritual protectors and teachers. The symbol of this is a representation of a building and a representation of a standing person.

The holy colour of this religion is orange and it is passed down via several versions of one holy book. The creation myth type is that of order from a formless mass of chaos and mortals were created as a vengeance by a powerful spirit that was banished for their greed. A major symbol is an ascension. The Deadly Sins are pride, recklessness, gluttony, envy and indifference and the High Virtues are abstinence, responsibility and piety. Its associated art form is sculptures of the spirits. The coming of age is one hundred years old and the coming of age rite involves a separation from the kin'toni's turner.

In this clan, marriage can involve up to eight people, of either gender in any combination. The marriage rites involve a symbolic 'kidnapping' and the wearing of dark green robes and a brown cloak. Any kin'toni in the clan can marry another in the clan, marrying outside the clan is not allowed. The clan's death rites involve a three-day wake, and the body being burnt as there are few places to bury the dead in the clan's homeland. After a person dies, all the things they owned are given out to kin'toni in the clan that need them. A major taboo is strong emotions and outsiders, are tolerated, barely.
