==Geography==

The Finneius region had two distinctive varieties of terrain- the elevated plateau sections that were covered in dense vegetation and the low-lying regions that were filled with many marshes and bogs as well as similar woodlands and vegetation. Most of the zu'aan activity and habitations in the region were concentrated only along the elevated plateaus because of the difficulties associated with the low lands. These plateaus were also filled with a wide variety of vegetation including trees and shrubs that provided the people with adequate wood supplies for their construction activities as well as fruits and berries to sustain themselves.

The region was also home to a wide variety of wildlife that could act as a secondary source of food or hide to make clothing and equipment. Hunters had to be able to track these wildlife through the complex terrain and bogs in order to make a successful catch, since the animals would instinctively flee into the bogs when hunted. Transportation and movement along these regions were complicated because of the presence of soft bogs that could be extremely dangerous. Safe paths could be traced through these lands by expert scouts and explorers but the landscape would change quickly come monsoon, giving rise to more unpredictable sections of the bog.

Roads could be found in the region but mostly along the elevated sections of the environment. Down in the lower sections, the roads were denoted by commonly travelled paths filled with footsteps and regular stone markers. The Finneius region experienced a moderate kind of climate and had four different seasons in a year- spring, summer, autumn and winter. In spring, most of the vegetation in the region would be in full bloom, giving the terrain a colorful and scenic appearance.

The temperatures during this period hovered around the low twenties and was generally considered as the most pleasant time of the year. Precipitation was also minimal at this time. In summer, the temperatures would start to pick up and peak at around the mid-thirties. Regular rain clouds would appear over the horizon bringing in regular rainfall and thunderstorms. Humidity would also increase as a result and most of the fruits would ripen at this time of the year. The long summers were followed by short monsoon when the region would experience a week of constant rainfall that would flood the bogs.

This would give way to autumn when the region would get colder and most of the deciduous trees would shed their leaves. The temperatures would fall to the twenties and lower while the rainfall and precipitation would gradually begin to cease. This was the period for harvesting most of the locally cultivated zu'aan crops before the winter frosts ruined them. Winter was the last season of the year and would begin with a fall in temperatures to the single digits. Snowfall would occur occasionally while sleet and frost were a common part of the day.

Many of the smaller plants would wither and die during this season only to spring back to life once the weather got warmer.

==Plants==

The vegetation of the Finneius region was a mix of temperate trees and shrubs along with aquatic plants and wetland vegetation that could grow in the water saturated sections of the Finneius. This vegetation had to be able to handle the heavy monsoons as well as the frosts that could cover the ground during the winter months. The Finneius was filled with seasonal vegetation that would flourish during the warmer and friendly months while they withered and died during the cold months.

The most common vegetation of the region included the temperate cetep tree that grew in the elevated plateau sections of the region, the achar fruit bearing trees that grew in the plateaus and in clumps around the bogs, the mihinnal grasses that grew in the shallow and navigable sections of the bog and the iormi plant that was cultivated by the local zu'aan for sustenance. The cetep was one of the most common trees that could be found in the plateaus and around zu'aan habitations. It had both aesthetic value as well as a lot of utility.

The tree could grow to over fifteen meters and produced bright blue flowers that would bloom during the spring months. The cetep also provided the zu'aan with vital wood resources that was necessary for the growth and development of their settlements. The cetep was home to a large variety of birds and smaller animals that built their nests on the broad branches of the trees. The achar was a lanky fruit bearing tree that grew to a height of over twenty feet and could be found both on ground and in the wetter sections of the bogs.

The tree had a distinctive white bark along with green leaves that would turn red during the autumn before they eventually fell off. They were not regularly used for construction because of their low yield which did not produce enough wood for construction. The fruit of the achar tree was a distinctive yellow in color and had a sweet and energizing flesh that was regularly consumed by both zu'aan and the local wildlife of the region. The Mihinnal grass was a common grass that could be found in the shallower sections of the bog.

It was distinguishable by its long and reddish stalks that could reach over four feet above the surface of the bogs. It was most commonly used to weave common utility items such as baskets, chairs and tables. The quality of these goods was known to improve as they matured and could become some of the most sturdy and resilient material in the region.The iormi plant was a crop that was normally cultivated by the zu'aan around their habitats. It produced corn like seeds that were a staple part of the zu'aan diet and could be consumed whole or ground to form flour.

They were adapted to grow in the Finneius region and were among the few crops that could be grown in a large scale.

==Animals==

The wildlife of the Finneius region was a mix of plant eating herbivores, mud-dwelling animals and the occasional predator. The zu'aan regularly hunted these animals for food as well as for their hides and bones which were used to craft their clothing as well as tools and weapons. Some of the most common animals of the region included the ormmos- a moose like herbivore, the issmos- a tree dwelling mammal, the brilt -a predatory bird of the bogs and the athper- a carnivorous beast that preyed on all manner of wildlife.

The ornmos was a large moose like animal that could grow to a height of over six feet and a slightly longer length. This animal was a strict herbivore and fed on the shrubs and plants that grew all over the region. It could survive in both the plateaus and the bogs. It had flatter hooves that allowed it to travel along the soft ground of the bogs and marshes. It also had a natural sense that allowed it to navigate the treacherous bogs safely. It could detect soft and deeper spots and would actively make every effort to avoid walking into them.

It was common practice among the zu'aan to follow this animal's large and clear footprints to make their way around the boggy sections of the region. The ornmos hat two long antlers and could get very aggressive if provoked or threatened. It was regularly hunted by the zu'aan for their meat, as well as their thick fur which was a vital component of their winter clothing. The Issmos was a squirrel-like creature that lived on the branches of the cetep trees. The small issmos lived off the fruits and leaves of the tree as well as any nuts and seeds it could scavenge off the ground.

They could be found only around trees and in the plateau sections of the region. It was prey for all kinds of predators due to its smaller size and lack of defensive capabilities. The brilt was a predatory bird that was equipped with incredibly long and sharp talons that could tear into its prey or swipe at aggressive attackers. It had a huge wingspan of over six feet that allowed it to glide efficiently as well as produce enough lift to carry off prey that weighed more than itself. Its bright and contrasting colors were used to make prized ceremonial items among the zu'aan, such as hats and clothes.

The athper was a bog dwelling beast that resembled a giant crocodile. It had a special type of clawed, web feet that allowed it to wade through the mud as well. Its body weight was also spread out quite evenly, which prevented it from sinking underneath the surface of the bog. It was a stealthy and crafty creature that would regularly ambush its prey by hiding within the bogs. It had a tough and bristled skin covering that allowed it to gain more grip while moving around in the thick mud while also helping it blend into the environment.
