Regal tribe, self important, hunters

==History==

Original an aristocratic family with a country estate on the outskirts of the Tahnglor forrest, the Etah-mos clan have stayed on their family stately home since they were consumed by the kin’toni plague, partly out of stubberness and a refusal to leave their ancient ways and title behind them and also in defiance to the chaos that the world had found itself in since the plague had spread. They were always a noble family clan. They had a bloodline dating back hundreds of years and so it always remained important to them to keep a firm grip on their ancient heritage and family culture.

When they were first consumed by kin’toni they would descend upon the neighbouring valleys in the night and would mercilessly feast on the zu’aan in the small neighbouring towns. They have never felt guilty about drinking the blood of their enemies. Having always been an elite family born into riches, they see it as a natural selection process. Some bleed and some feed. This is the way of things. Of course, after a time of them feasting on the townsfolk, some neighbouring towns banded together and attempted to storm their large castle estate in the middle of the tonight.

Armed with flaming torches and an assortment of farmyard weaponry such as pitchforks and rakes. Although they had some success and burnt a many of the clan, the battle resulted in half of the townsfolk meeting a grizzly end. It was some time before another attack was planned on the Etah-mos estate. The clan learned to tone down their killing and spread it around over other districts. Just enough murder and mathem to put fear into the hearts of their prey, but not enough death so that they would become stupid with sadness and rage and would abandon thought and attack them again with fire and arms.

It would only be a matter of time before they amassed a large number of other like minded people with the same thing on their minds. A relatively small, yet fierce clan, this tribe have become very cunning over the years and have used their intellect and great gifts for strategy to remain in control of their estate and most importantly, to also maintain a healthy existence. They have survived sieges, small wars, storms and natural disasters. They have taken an oath to never give up their estate and land. To them, the earth from which they come is everything.

And the stone walls of their estate contains all the heritage of their ancient line and must be defended to the last. They have never had an interest in world domination, just protecting what is theirs. Their land and titles are very important to them and that others recognise them as landed gentry. They have always been hospitable towards other clans who they deem to be of notable lineage and are famous for their elaborate swarrays and dinner gatherings. Other the many decades that they have existed, they have maintained completely control of their estate.

All of the neighbouring townsfolk will not willingly come within five miles of them at nightfall.

==Biology==

Light pink irises with black sclerae and crescent pupil Tall, pale, athletic creatures. Extremely agile and fast though they tend to move at their own pace. They have an insatiable thirst for Zu’aan blood. It makes them feel strong and powerful. They have deep booming resonant voices and are quite strong when they want to be. They tend to not missuse their energy and are relatively calm unless provoked. Anger causes a massive adrenalin boost to run through body and they are capable of causing extreme physical damage in others and structures during this aggression moment. They will, however lose quite a bit of energy during this time and need to rest after, Their blood is dark red and thick.

Their organs are hard and shiny. Their hearts beat slowly and resonate so that if you press your head against their chest it is very loud in your ears. Not that you would want to, as that would be very dangerous. They have long sharp finger nails which they paint for added effect. The natural colour is grey and they are razor sharp. They also have long toe nails which have the same physicality’s. They use energy very quickly as any outbursts of strength they have are usually very large. When angered they have little or no control over their body and are given to animalistic impulses, which drains them.

Either long periods of sleep or zu’aan blood is required for them to recover. Decapitations and impaling’s through the heart will destroy them. Fire is also dangerous for them and exposure to direct sunlight will make them burn. Without zu’aan blood they become very week and run the risk of destruction. They need it to sustain their existence. Their hair is very dark and they often wear it long. They have no facial hair. Their skin feels soft to the touch. They typically sleep all through daylight hours and require 6-8 hrs recovery time whilst unconscious. They are very light sleeps and are unconscious with their eyes open.

The easiest way to destroy them is with fire. From a safe distance!

==Culture==

They are an ancient family, who were very rich, resided in a large estate full of grand decorations and lavish art, with a lot of land all around them, including fields and forest. Very aristocratic, noble and of course full of themselves. They enjoy history, art, literature and music, as these are what they consider to be hobbies of the elite. They wear incredibly fine clothes always and like to present themselves in a very flamboyant manner. Having created a persona for themselves where they are incredibly important individuals in high society. They often through outrageous dinner parties for other tribes who they deem worthy of their company.

And invite them to stay in their estate which is huge. They are typically non violent towards other clans, but will, however, never back down from a fight if it is presented to them. The clan is governed by King Ober and Queen Tas. They have a system of nobles and the tribe has various rules of etiquette. They live by this etiquette, and good manners and sophistication are very important to them. They pride the cleanliness of their estate above all things and are very cosmetic in their ideologies. They like to look well at all times and they like their living area to look opulent as it is a status symbol to them.

They have always refused to leave their ancestral home. They have lived here for many generations spanning back hundreds of years (before they were kin’toni) and they will never give it up. Their entire cultural identity revolves around their opulent estate. If they were ever invaded by another tribe wanting to take it off them, they would defend it to the last, even if it meant their own destruction. They limit their intake of blood to a necessity. However, when they throw parties, they like to feast in a very lavish manner. On these occasions it is very important to them that they present themselves in a very flamboyant manner to their guests.

They like other kin’toni to think they are rich and very powerful, maybe even more so then they actually are. They love art, treasures, gold and all shiny things. They love to surround themselves with beautiful objects and comforting things. Much of their furniture are antiques and have been in the estate for hundreds of years. They keep the gardens surrounding their estate in marvellous condition and have sculpted giant gargoyles from foliage. Although they like their dwelling to be attractive looking they also want it to remain imposing so at dissuade any unwelcome guests from visiting.

They rarely bicker amongst each other and are generally peace loving. They operate a policy of neutrality with the other tribes and as they have no interest in anything outside of their estate, they are not seen as a threat by any of the other tribes. There are a very close tribe and will often entertain each other with music, stories and reading of literature.

==Government==

The tribe are ruled by King Ober and Queen Tas, two very opulent rulers who like to surround themselves with the finest things of comfort and beauty. They prefer all their subjects to be dressed with refinery and to look beautiful as they cannot abide to look at anything less then extremely beautiful. They have a court ceremony every day when they will discuss important matters with other clan members, though a lot of time is taken up with ceremony and ritual. As it is important to them to keep their old aristocratic traditions alive. They are dictators and are allowed to pass any law they want.

They are seldom challenged as they share their riches amongst the tribe. Those who have higher ranks are gifted more wealth. Although riches have no actually importance in the outer world to this clan, owning shiny and expensive things is a status symbol within their clan and this, to them, is the most important thing, above all things. With them everything is about status. The king and Queen have appointed various NOBLES in positions of power. These are high ranking officials who have proved themselves to be worthy of titles. Usually the qualifications needed to become a noble are to have accomplished fantastic things for the estate and tribe, to have shown bravery in battle.

And most importantly, to be very well mannered, sophisticated, to dress well, command good speech, show proper etiquette and to have amassed wonderful treasures. The nobles are in charge of the other tribal members and make sure that all follow the rules set down by the king and queen. Any who disobey will be brought to trial before the king and queen. This is a lengthy where evidence is given, character witness are brought forward and much talking takes place. A trial can sometime stake days for them to reach a verdict. If they are found guilt they are destroyed immediately.

They do not banish clan members for fear they may return with an army seeking vengeance and lay claim to the estate. Thankfully though, they are generally a peaceful tribe and there is not much call for trials or other such disciplinary actions. Any new laws which the King and Queen wish to pass will be put before the Nobles in a special law giving ceremony. As with their other ceremonial activities this can take quite some time as the proper etiquette and manners have to be followed, due respect and courtesies given toe ach parties. Of course this is not a matter which is allowed to be discussed.

The nobles may voice their opinion once and the king and queen do not have not bare any mind to it. They nobles have one opportunity to voice their opinion, but after that it is considered treason. All governmental ceremonies are very time consuming and involve a lot of talking and traditional etiquette that date back centuries before they were even kin’toni.

==Military==

They are a politically neutral tribe and very rarely, if ever, get involved in violence with other tribes. They do, however have quite a tight military organisation. With them everything is about status and the perception of them to the outside world and so it is with their military. They practice weaponry regularly and employ the use of sophisticated swords and knives. Their fighting style is very much based on classic fencing. As this is considered by them to be a more sophisticated way of fighting and worthy of an elegant tribe such as themselves. In the advent of war or conflict.

The Nobles assume the responsibility of high ranking officers in the army and it will be their job to carry out the military plans and tactics set out by the king and queen. King Ober prides himself on his knowledge of the ancient war texts set down by their ancestors and has studied the art of war, his strategies, if ever they are required are often detailed. The queen, Tas, is also a master strategist her self and loves to play mental games at the drop of a hat, even outside of war time. They will often have long and lengthy debates with each other in preparation for battle.

This is often time consuming and thankfully they very rarely get involved in war. The military itself is made up of two types of fighters. THE WARRIORS are swords men and women who fight with long sabre swords and knives. They will fight the enemy with precision and fines, coming at them from all sides. They employ sophisticated and flashy styles of fighting. They also fight with intense bravery and are prepared to be destroyed rather then lose. It is the estate they fight for and the status of their clan. Defeat would be detrimental to their egos so it is not considered to be an option.

THE ARCHERS fight with long range weapons, mainly bow and arrow, and also crossbows. They are very sharp and detailed shooters and will rain flaming arrows down on the enemy from a distance before the warriors move in. after this they will employ smaller bows and come in closer, but usually fighting from higher ground and aiming at select enemy targets, usually high rankers, picked out by the noble people before hand. Both sets of fighters follow their instructions to the letter and never deviate from the plans set down by the royalty and the nobles. The military are also employed as hunters.

They will travel outside the estate in groups of hunting packs searching for zu’aan prey. Often they will travel a distance and camp below ground at night. They bring back the bodies in wheeled carts and have explicit orders not to drink any blood before they are returned and the zu’aan can be shared amongst them all in the rightful measures. Hunting is an important task and warriors who bring back the most bodies undetected are rewarded highly. It is very important for the clan that they are never seen doing this and that secrecy is maintained as they do not wish to draw attention to the estate. The military is mostly used as hunters as wars are far and few between.

==Religion==

They are atheists by nature and do not believe in any higher power as such, however their society is very cultural and deeply rooted in their past heritage and traditions of their very ancient family and they have many ceremonies regularly that are aimed to keep these traditions alive. During these events they will read from ancient family scriptures and literature, drawing on information from their heraldry. But also, their family tree and tales of historical significance concerning their family. At these ceremonies, important nobles will read from ancient books from their libraries and often will also sing folk songs.

Sometimes members of the clan will play live music and they will have a ball, where many of the tribe will dance with each other. It is always respectful ballroom dancing. The ceremonies are presided over by THE GRANDFATHER.
THE GRANDFATHER is a senior member of the family appointed by the king and queen. He is a very knowledgeable and learned tribal member with a deep understanding of their ancient ways and writings, music and folklore. He also is very wise in philosophical ways and often will tell public stories with weighty moral structures which are designed to guide the tribe in thinking correctly and always doing things which are right for the clan.

Rather then a spiritual leader he is more like a psychiatrist and a historian rolled into one. They are an arrogant and self centred tribe, however they worship the estate and the status symbol that they believe their clan has. They have a very structured class system and all on the bottom worship the ones above them who have more power. The more elite members of the tribe worship the estate and take their roles very seriously as everything they do will affect the tribe. The estate is more then just a place to them. It is there heritage and so their feelings toward it is strangely religious.

THE GRANDFATHER is very mindful of his words when around the royalty and will orate tales to the clan that always show them in a good light. Should they be displeased they have the power to punish the priest figure for heresy and can if they deem it appropriate, destroy him. The Grandfather will always do his best to massage their egos and present them in tales as the most important member of the tribal and also present them as the most important figures in all of the tribal families heritage. They see themselves as an elite group and the enjoyment of culture and arts are how they express themselves as a tribe.

And also how they celebrate their greatness. This tribe is based on ego and self importance.
