A tribe of desert people who are nomadic and fierce. Scavengers.

==History==

They originally lived in a small outpost town on the edge of the desert and were merchants and hostelry folk who were used to a constant influx of strangers. When the Kintoni disease struck and they were turned into kin'toni they stayed in the old town for a while, slaying any poor misfortunes they could, but eventually the military were deployed to destroy them and the Endough clan took flight and hid out in the desert. Where they made a home for themselves among the rocks and hills dotted around the barren landscape. As time went by they became more and more recluse and went deeper into the desert.

Always a resourceful people since before they had been kin'toni, they made the best out of the desert wilderness and constructed entire towns out of fallen rubble, scrap metals that they found and wood from fallen trees. They also searched for vehicles and electronic devices left abandoned in far away and secret places, brought them to their settlement, stripped all the materials down and used them for building structures in their towns. They became very industrious and created trade posts around the desert, as sometimes they would be forced to move if a more powerful clan attacked them and they lost.

They would always stand their ground and often repelled and defeated other forces who attempted to take their settlements off them. They have moved on and rebuilt entire settlements often. They are a nomadic tribe and look for new resources often. Although they like to live in developed domains, they are not narrow minded and they understand that there are many cycles in existence and so if they are repelled by a force too large or if they are hit by a natural disaster, they are happy to move on to fresher pastures, forage for new materials and build another settlement, often even greater then the previous.

Through the decades their scavenging skills and ability to build structures has improved greatly. Their living dwellings are burrowed underground. It is very hot in the desert so they have constructed apparatus and living quarters to accommodate this. They have found many zu'aan dwellings on the edge of the desert and hunted them. Usually they send out small caravans of their tribe who seek them out. They developed this tactic early in their existence by accident. After a battle with another clan had forced them to move on. It turned out some of their members were separated from them and stumbled upon a large camp of zu'aan which they slaughtered.

They carried the bodies on and soon caught up with their other clan members. It was decided for future that this was a good idea and they often employ the use of search and hunting parties. They currently occupy a massive fortress which they have built in the northern desert.

==Biology==

They are a very active clan. Even before they became kin'toni they were a busy people, always working long hours and hard, engaging with other people and running the town between them, so when they transitioned to Kintoni they were already fit, active and powerful. As early zu'aan hunters they would strike fast and mercilessly, the hunger for blood insatiable. As kin'toni, they have a very fast system, heal exceedingly quickly and do not need much rest. They have amazing eye sight and can see very well during extreme darkness. Desert life has built up their tolerance for heat, however sunlight will destroy them.

They must borrow deep underground to escape its terrible rays. During the sunlight hours their bodies become slower and go into what can only be described as a power saving mode. They move slowly and are still as much as possible. In this time their senses are heightened and their pupils dilate. They can hear and see half a mile, hyper aware of any disturbances in their environment and potential invaders. They happen to be weak to the cold, lacking the normal anti-freeze of kin'toni blood. Of note about them is their yellowish grey skin and the dark purple irises with black sclerae and crescent pupils in their eyes.

They are tall (about 2 metres for females to 3 metres tall for males and slender of build with large pointed ears.

==Culture==

There existence has been a long a tumultuous one. Even from their early pre-kin'toni days as mercantile traders, they always lived life on the edge and after metamorphosing into kin'toni they soon found themselves on the run from normal society and forced to skulk and hide in the shadows. In the desert is where some of them believe they were truly born. It was here that they developed much of their culture. They forage and scavenge through the length and breadth of the hot sand and they believe that this barren land will always supply for them everything they need.

They also believe that one mans rubbish is another mans gold. Through they ages they have taken scrap either thrown away or destroyed by war and time, brought it to their domain and created architecture and invented things out of this debris. They waste nothing and are very industrious. Every member of the clan pulls together to help create the most wonderful of domain fortresses. They take great pride in their dwellings and also their ability to make things out of lost and forsaken items. They are a humble tribe and love the stillness and calmness that the desert brings at night.

There is a sadness about them, an ancient melancholy that has come from the exile they faced from their early days and has intensified over the decades after getting caught up in various battles between other clans who have often tried to take their dwellings from them by force, and sometimes have been successful. To them the violence of the world saddens them. They are nomadic and travel the desert, moving with the wind as she turns. Ever hopeful, they always build a dominion bigger then the last one they had settled in. This was before what ever misfortune had befallen them and forced them to leave.

Flowing with the air, they believe that this is all part of existence, never ending change. They do not conflict with this, but rather embrace it. They are constantly looking for ways to improve their clans expertise, knowledge, materials and natural resources. They are very creative and inventive, yet they are a functional tribe. They use their creativity for creating dwelling spaces upon ruins and inventions that will help their tribe survive. The architectural structures they built upon are very functional high rising towns surrounded by circular fortresses.

These was build by the old zu'aan empire in the end of the second era. They built upon the ruins of very high buildings that stand high above the sand and also above where most of the sand storms batter horizon level. The upper realms are are storage facilities and workshop areas with ringed fortress structures all around with sections built to house special long range weapons they have invented for the purposes of guarding them from invaders. They built structures and expanded upon Xerea Empire era buildings deep below the desert. These are there living and sleeping quarters. They have a thirst for zu'aan blood, and they refer to hunting them as A HARVEST.

Caravan of hunters are sent out to find and catch zu'aan. They bring them back for the entire clan to feed. They drain the blood and bottle them for storage. They try to make the blood last as long as possible. They share it equally among the tribe. Desert life is a deeply important and philosophical existence for this tribe.

==Government==

The tribe has developed what it considers to be a very fair system. They believe in equality for all and unity within the tribe so they have created a government structure around their philosophies and ideologies. The leader of the tribe is called THE MINISTER and this person is responsible for overseeing the progress of the tribe and also must always look ahead to what the future may possibly bring. This is for good or for ill and must create stratagies to assist in this. In times of extreme trouble or danger The Minister will come up with a course of action.

It is the leaders jobs to create new plans as the world around them changes. The ruling of the Minister is not a dictatorship. Any new plans or ideas must be put to a vote and the clan will equally decide what course of action is taken. It is the leaders role to think deeply on what is best for the clan and suggest this course of action to the tribe. The Minister must also answer to THE CONGREGATION. These are a group of political figures chosen by the tribe who believe best can represent their interests. They converse with The Minister on their behalf. They are trusted members of society and herald from different sectors of the tribe, so as to equally represent them all.

For a new plan to be implemented or decisions to be made The Minister must put them before The Congregation. If they vote positively then the proposition is brought before the rest of the tribe and they will all vote. The outcome of this will decide what action the clan will take. Also, clan members can bring ideas and the desires of the tribe to The Congregation, usually representatives from their sector. These ideas or concerns are then brought before The Minister and they discuss them. The Government can often take a long time to decide on what ways new plans should be implemented.

In case of sudden war or natural disaster where action must be taken immediately, The Minister is given special powers where he or she can make decisions without a vote. However after all becomes calm again, The Minister must be interviewed by the Congregation publicallA=nd it is put to the vote then to see if the Minister had made the correct choice on their behalf. A vote stating it was abd choice will result in the Minister voluntarily leaving their position of leadership. Should this happen the tribe will vote in a new leader. They have an extremely democratic political structure.

==Military==

This Clan has a very well organised, cohesive and efficient military. They operate on a principal of extremely well thought out and meticulously organised campaigns with great attention to detail and as much preparation as possible. Similar to their political structure any military tactics that The Minister wishes to implement must first be passed through the Congregation for approval. This often can take days of debating and meetings. However in extreme cases where the safety of the clan is in great threat. This is such as a sudden attack from another clan or a natural disaster such as a desert storm where there is little or not time to react.

The voting process is allowed to move faster and may take anything from a few minutes to a few hours, depending also on how drastic the situation is. The army is made of a few different components and operates on a ranking structure. THE INFANTRY make up a high percentage of their military and they comprise of a foot soldiers who wield swords, axes and clubs. They mercilessly throw them selves head on to the enemy and will battle them. An agile race, this clan has a very stylish way of fighting. Over the decades they have trained themselves in martial arts and swordplay/

This is so they are a very worthy opponent and a force to be reckoned with. THE POINTS are warriors wielding very long spears. These are typically sent into battle ahead of The Infantry and it is their duty to destroy or wound and stun as much of the enemy as possible. Once they have broken through the ranks of they change their fighting tactics and fight closer range, still with spears. They have developed a very acrobatic style of fighting. They are exceptionally fast and skilful. THE LONG are sharp shooters who operate all the long range weapons which are placed on their fortress walls.

These contraptions which they have invented fire large heavy arrows. They will often start the battle by firing at the enemy from a great height. This is one of the reasons they build their town so high upon existing ruins, as they have vantage points for enemy observation and destruction. They also protect the fortress should any enemy attempt to scale the walls and gain access from the roof. THE GENERALS are high ranking officers who command the troops, keep them in line and make sure that the battle tactics given to them by The Ministers are carried out to the letter.

During a battle the Generals place themselves all over the battlefield to make sure that there are no rooms for error. THE HUNTERS are warriors, but they also are employed to search for zu'aan blood. They will cover the ground near and far from the Fortress dominion, track, hunt and capture zu'aan and then bring them back to the dominion, alive if they can, so that the blood stays fresh and ready for bottling and storage. They are a very slick military option and all respect the order of command. They are not easy to defeat.

==Religion==

They have an affinity with the desert and see existence in same way as the desert moves. To them its shifting sand are a symbol of never ending change. They also believe that those in balance with the sand will be given everything that they need to sustain themselves in life. They seek calmness and a feeling of being at one with the nature, the still night desert wind gives them this. They have many different ceremonies in the sand at many different times of the year. Which are in tune with the seasonal shift of change in the sand world. They do this not for spiritual reasons.

But that it brings them closer to each other and teaches them a balance with the world around them. They are always seeking unity within their clan and philosophical enlightenment. With understanding of the world and their place in it, they believe only then can they truly be free. They limit their intake of zu'aan blood and treat it as a precious commodity. It is important to them that everyone in the clan gets an equal share. The consuming of the blood is turned into a ritual and presided over by THE PASTOR, the tribes high priest. THE PASTOR is a clan member who is well versed in the knowledge of their past.

Has studied the desert ways and has a deep understanding of the tribes philosophy. There are 12 pastors and each of them specialises in different philosophical ways and are called upon when a ritual is required to be performed. Individually they also look after the mental well being of all the clan members at all times. THE HIGH ONE is the head Priest. This man is the elder who first wrote down the scriptures in the early dawn of their kin'toni turning. These are a book of laws that they live by, based on the workings of the desert. They teach the clan how to live in unity with each other and how to understand the way of the desert.

They believe that when you are in tune with the sand everything is possible and you will receive many rewards. However, if you are out of tune with the desert or fight against its power or do not understand its ways, then destruction is imminent. THE RITUALS take place during the different seasons of the year or during eclipses. In these gatherings the priest presiding over the ceremony will read from the ancient scriptures. This is whilst the rest of the tribe go into a mediatory state where they experience strange visions. During this experience they become closer to the desert, acknowledge the seasonal change and understand their place in everything.

The ceremony is designed to increase their feeling of balance and placement in the nomadic desert life. Their religion is based on philosophy and theology. They are very respectful of it as it gives them meaning in times of chaos. They worship the sand as the unifier of their balance.
