==History==

The Enachia clan are the ones who originated from the Eawa kin’toni clan. The founders of this clan were a part of the revolutionary group, Kuchamasa, which played a key role in providing justice to the oppressed kin’toni of the Eawa clan. After the revolutionary wars and when Magdar finally yielded, this clan decided to go their own way. They wanted a fresh start and thus, went to the distant mountains. They are the most isolated clan of all and rarely communicate with the rest.

They live the furthest from any kin’toni clan but close to the zu’aan tribes. They worship the Warana, a wild beast that lives deep in the heart of the mountains. According to the Enachia, the Warana is a beautiful beast who is so large it can cast its shadow over the moon. The Enachia have never seen this creature but they do believe in a legend their elders tell them, the very first of the Enachia kin’toni who were from the Eawa clan.The legend says that the very first of the Enachia were out hunting on a seemingly ordinary night when they felt like they were being watched by something.

They had wandered into a territory they had never explored before. The kin’toni aren’t afraid of the dark but this place had an eerie silence about it. For all their excellent hearing, they couldn’t hear a thing. Shadows constantly crossed their vision but the one behind them could not be seen. It moved as if it was made of air and a time came when the shadows completely blotted out the forest. The kin’toni were standing back to back, fangs drawn and ready to pounce on whoever lurked behind the shadows.

Suddenly, a ginormous shape rose from behind one of the bushes, its wings cutting arcs in the sky, joining to the base at its back. The size of it was enough to block out the sky and the kin’toni could only stand frozen in fear as it glided towards them. The creature had a huge body which was covered in scales and its eyes were a metallic iridescent shade, which shined mysteriously in the moon light. It tilted its head and looked at the kin’toni for a few moments.

Its eyes betraying the fact that although its body looked young and agile, its soul was as old as time. It perhaps saw something in the kin’toni as the majestic creature bent its huge head. Only one kin’toni was brave enough to come forward and place his palm on the creature’s head. The creature abruptly opened its giant wings, which startled all the others except the one with his hand on its head. The creature then nodded towards this kin’toni and the obliged kin’toni nodded back.

The Warana then turned and walked back, never to be seen again. Though some kin’toni have tried to track it, they have always failed. This clan, since that day onwards, have worshipped it. As for the kin’toni who was able to touch the Warana, he was without question made the leader.

==Biology==

The Enachia Kin'toni Clan are adapted to the [[Naem Wet Meadow]]. They are tall and slender, with long arms and shorter legs. Their center of gravity is lower to aid balance on the unstable, boggy ground. The core muscles are strong and thickly built. Along with their light bones, it allows them to move without sinking in the muddy ground. Their smooth, rubbery skin is a mottled mix of greens and browns for camouflage. The skin is covered in a layer of thick, smelly mucus to allow them to glide though muddy water.

Like with other water clans, the mucus dying out leads to cracks and infections in the skin. The clan lacks all body hair. The clan's skin is adapted to drawing oxygen from the water. Their eyes are golden with the "whites" of the eyes being black. The eyes have an transparent nictitating membrane for protecting their eyes from water and mud splashes. Their noses are able to close to keep water out. The sense of smell is good at tracking prey though the muddy wet meadow. Their ears are pointed, small and flat on the sides of the head.

The ears can also close to keep out water. The hearing is not as acute as that of other clans. Their tongues are forked and have large amounts of chemoreceptors. These are used to taste the air and to seek prey. The teeth are many, needle like and sharp. These teeth are used for catching fish. The vocal cords are adapted to making croaking sounds that travel far across the Wet Meadow. Their hands are webbed and their claws are designed for catching fish and other slippery lifeforms. They have pads on their hands and feet that can sense movement though vibrations in water or muddy, wet ground.

The hands have specialized nerve clusters that are sensitive to vibration for this purpose. Their feet are webbed and act as biological snowshoes. This is to allow them to walk on wet, muddy soil. The clan has musk glands that produce a earthy musk used to mark territory. The circulatory system is efficient and designed to retain heat. The blood vessels are deeper in the body and there is a lack of surface capillaries. The lungs are used as a way to hold air in case of high levels of activity.

The blood circulates though the core and near near special organs to warm it. The blood contains a large amounts of platelets and clotting factors, alongside natural antibiotics. This protects from blood loss and most importantly, infection. The Wet Meadow is a breeding ground for sickness. The clan have a strong immune system adapted to the local viruses, bacteria and other microorganisms. This strong immune system comes with an higher rate of autoimmune disorders. The liver has adaptions to aid with filtering out these pathogens.

Their bones are hollow, with air sacs in the middle to aid in swimming. This comes with the downside of the bones being easy to break.

==Culture==

The Enachia clan has its own unique culture just like every other kin’toni clan. The kin’toni of this clan have adapted to the hard life of the mountains. The animals here keep mostly to themselves and stay hidden from the wrath of the kin’toni. Thus, it’s difficult to find hunt in these places and the kin’toni has to use all his senses in this activity. The kin’toni take some of these animals back to their clan to breed and keep as cattle. The Enachia clan is particularly fond of the berries found in their hills.

It is the only one of its kind and takes up to fifteen years to grow fully. The berries are called ‘Rubatara’ or ‘drops of blood’. As the name suggests, this fruit’s quality is that it is the size of an average cherry but its juice has the metallic taste of blood. As its extremely rare and so far, has only been found in these lands, it’s considered as a particular Enachia treat. The first harvest of this berry is presented to the clan’s leader and a basket of it is also offered to the place where the Warana was seen. This offering has always been accepted.

The Enachia kin’toni clan also takes keen interest in knowledge. They have studied the anatomy of the zu’aan and animals found in their area. They studied the zu’aan behavior so as to root out their weaknesses. They were able to successfully find their weak points and were able to invade and turn a large number of zu’aan, from children to elders. These zu’aan are now immortal kin’toni and are meant to serve this clan.
Khawa Enachia promotes the discovery and study of anatomy, whether it is zu’aan or kin’toni.

He says; “knowing where the zu’aan stand and what weaknesses they harbor would help us eliminate those weaknesses. If not that then, use it to our own advantage.” The kin’toni of this clan wear mostly black clothing which helps them blend in with the dark. They refrain from wearing loose clothing so that it won’t come in their way while climbing or wandering in the forests. They can blend in so easily that only their yellow eyes can be seen vibrantly glinting in the dark.

Their festivals also celebrate their diversity and religion. The night when these kin’toni supposedly saw the Warana, is regarded as a major night. They call it ‘Ghawa ra Warana’ or ‘night of the Warana’s wisdom’. These kin’toni wear their most colorful clothing and drink blood and dance to the night. Their cattle are sacrificed that day and the best cuts of meat and the freshest pouches of blood are sent to the Warana’s place for offerings and to the leader of the clan.

They also have games in which they proudly display their abilities about who can jump the highest. These games take place annually and the ones who win it is offered a place of honor beside the leader and is promoted to a higher position in the military.

==Government==

The kin’toni of the Enachia clan worship the Warana. The legend of this creature says that it chose the leader of this tribe by testing his bravery. He was the only one who could withstand the shock of seeing a creature that big and be immediately accepting towards it. The legend also says that the creature bowed to this kin’toni, which was interpreted by other kin’toni as a gesture of respect which means that the other kin’toni have to respect this kin’toni too.

Without any arguments, they made him the leader of this clan. This kin’toni is centuries old, but is still the leader of this clan and has taken them all through the toughest time of their lives. His name is Khawa kin’toni. But as his clan honors him greatly, they gave him their clan’s name after which his name became Khawa Enachia.The government system is based on their leader. He has his advisors who relay the words of his clan to him but the leader has to do most of the work himself.

Since the creature chose this kin’toni and they all worship it, none of them could object to his rule for replacement until he dies. In all of Khawa Enachia’s rule, he has expanded their territory greatly and by also increasing the clan’s population by turning the zu’aan of nearby tribes. He used these turned kin’toni to be the major components of the work force and military. To prevent inequalities and uprisings, like he had seen in the Eawa kin’toni clan, Khawa Enachia added some turned kin’toni to his advisory council and asked them to participate too.

He has made sure to provide turned kin’toni with proper food, water and blood to ensure they live a healthy life and are able to serve for long too. He provided these kin’toni with homes too and made sure to answer their every need. All this so that the turned kin’toni would realize that kin’toni aren’t so cruel and that they would be willing to serve him. He is a clever kin’toni who knows how to manipulate his way around. After the clan’s originals agreed that the best thing would be to stay isolated from other clans.

And to have their own way of life without others interfering, Khawa had to figure out ways to provide them with enough food and blood and resources which would ensure the clan’s survival without depending on other clans. He organized hunting parties, he participated in finding places to mine, to dig out iron which would be used to make weapons. He also made sure to let some explorers go and trace their area so that they could make maps accordingly. In these maps they highlighted places which could be their weak points and situated some strong kin’toni there.

Since these kin’toni can jump really high in just one jump, Khawa Enachia also designed their homes to be built up high too. These homes are hidden among the rocks and trees and can provide immediate shelter in case of an invasion. Though Khawa Enachia is really talented, he is also arrogant. He takes immense pride that he was the only one chosen by The Warana and so, the others should do nothing but obey him.

==Military==

The population of the original kin’toni who came to these lands was about fifty kin’toni. After the clan’s leader was chosen, he decided to expand their clan. He did this by cleverly coming up with ways to invade the zu’aan tribes and turn them into kin’toni that would obey them. To do this he made an army of kin’toni and some of his closest and trusted kin’toni as its leader. They attacked the tribes and turned anyone within reach. Children, teenagers, adults and even elders.

They all became immortal and couldn’t age. They took all these turned kin’toni back to their clan and taught them military techniques and told them to serve in their army. This sudden rise in the population of the clan, made their military of previously twenty-eight kin’toni to rise to up to two hundred kin’toni in their army alone. They trained these kin’toni to their fullest. Taught them the best and the quickest ways to murder animals and impale them. Taught them the different methods to quickly turn a zu’aan into a kin’toni.

They also taught them how to use their weapons. The Enachia kin’toni use different fighting methods but the weapons they like to use mostly consists of spears and swords. The Enachia aren’t skilled blacksmiths and their weapons have been known to break apart in the midst of battle, which doesn’t render a kin’toni completely helpless as they still have their fangs and sharp claws. Though it does limit their fighting range and exposes danger to their vulnerable heart.

The favored technique of these kin’toni is the impale jump. These kin’toni use their ability to the fullest and have been known to suddenly spring from their place and impale the victim with their spears. As they can jump really high, this does give them major advantages. The military of the Enachia clan is divided into three parts; Generals, army and defense. The Generals of this military are both original kin’toni and turned kin’toni, though the majority consists of originals.

They give out commands and modify the maps of their area and nearby zu’aan cities constantly, to make them the most accurate they can be. The numbers of the kin’toni in the Generals sector is about twenty-eight. The army consists of the largest number of kin’toni. Both turned and originals. These are the strongest, the most trained and the ones who are at their best in combat. Their skills are used effectively to invade zu’aan tribes, and to prepare for battle against other clans if a battle could ensue.

Even though this clan lives in isolation from the other clans, it also has need of defenses. Zu’aan from nearby cities have been known to randomly attack kin’toni clans. Their methods of killing and attacking clans are ingenious. They attack in broad daylight, use catapults and shoot arrows with deadly precision. They have also timed their invasions and wrap up before sunset. As the invasion after sunset against all-nighter kin’toni would be a suicide mission.

The kin’toni situated for defense are responsible to guard the kin’toni territory and keep close watch. They have also set traps throughout the territory. They stay hidden in tress and bushes during sunlight and guard the territory. They work in shifts. As the Enachia clan isn’t very large, the kin’toni involved in defense are approximately fifty in number.

==Religion==

The kin’toni of the Enachia clan used to worship no one before they witnessed the Warana. The kin’toni believed that the way they had suffered at the hands of Magdar before coming to this land would only mean that there was no one out there to answer their pleas. That the kin’toni who called themselves God were also nothing more than greedy land grabbers who only worked for their own benefit. These kin’toni came to this land and isolated themselves from all other kin’toni as they realized that they wanted no part of the kin’toni who only wanted to use others.

This was also the reason why they decided to worship no one. The Warana was the creature they stumbled across when they wandered to an unexplored part of the mountains. The elders call it ‘a fateful night’. They say that the creature walked without leaving a single print and that though it was large enough to cast its shadow all over the sky, it emerged from behind only a tree. It had gleaming metallic eyes and wings which when unfolded, were the size of 30 kin’toni put together.

It had an aura about it which made it seem intimidating and fearful to the kin’toni. The kin’toni who were afraid of nothing and who walked on the Taerel as if they ruled it. Who believed that nothing was greater than them. The kin’toni that was brave enough to come forward and put his hand on the head of this frightful creature was the only one who didn’t flinch when the Warana opened its wings abruptly. The Warana nodded towards this kin’toni and after looking over at the others, turned and left.

This encounter with this creature made them all rethink about their fates and who they should worship. They came to a mutual agreement; The Warana.They all worship this creature and command the turned kin’toni to do the same too. They tried going back to the same place later, but the creature was nowhere to be seen and hasn’t appeared ever since. A few curious kin’toni have been known to go on a journey called ‘katha Warana’ or ‘the path of the Warana’. A few kin’toni took this journey because they wanted to find the Warana, others did it so they could find themselves, as in a spiritual way.

Whether it was to find the creature or to find themselves, none of these kin’toni ever returned. The kin’toni took this to be a sign of acceptance by the Warana. The kin’toni worship this creature and place the best of their offerings in this meadow for the creature to accept. It apparently does, as no traces of the offerings have been found. Sometimes the offerings aren’t accepted and the kin’toni who put them there tries to do better. They have many festivals too which appreciate the beauty of this land and celebrate the existence of this creature.

The one kin’toni who was chosen by the Warana is given a place of honor in this festival and wears a necklace made of bones of rare animals.

==Miscellany==

The kin’toni of the Enachia clan live in houses which are built on trees and made of wood. These houses have no ladders or stairs to climb up as these kin’toni can easily get up with just one jump. This saves them from creatures or animals which can kill an unsuspecting kin’toni, though that isn’t easily possible as the kin’toni have excellent hearing. These kin’toni mostly live up in their trees and use the ground for training purposes. They have built bridges from one tree to another and have created pathways connecting to each.

The grandest house is of the leader kin’toni and all these pathways lead up to his place. It is situated in the middle of the forest and has several rooms which include the main chamber, the treasury, the dining area, etc. The kin’toni of the Enachia are allowed to approach the advisors for their problems and they have the responsibility to relay it to the leader. The kin’toni of the Enachia clan have their research centers at the very end of the forest and it happens to be beside the prison house where they keep imprisoned zu’aan.

These zu’aan aren’t turned and are instead used to practice on. Their behaviors are tested and their bodies too. The kin’toni learn about the zu’aan this way. They record their observations on tree leaves and animal skins and write with ink made from ground up leaves. The lands of the Enachia clan are far away from the majority of the other clans, as these kin’toni prefer to live life according to their own ways. They live among trees, cliffs and hills and only go out of their territory for battles or hunting. They aren’t overly keen on spying on other kin’toni from other clans and so keep to themselves.

There haven’t been much battles but one; the kin’toni were caught unaware and unprepared by a legion of zu’aan soldiers. They used their tactics and secured hold of a quarter of the Enachia territory. Many zu’aan lives were lost but there were heavy losses on the kin’toni sides too. The Enachia had to go against their customs and asked for help from other clans, but seeing the strength of the zu’aan armies, the other clans simply refused. The Enachia clan learned through the hard way that the only ones that would support them were their own clan members and it is of no use to ask help from others since they won’t ever receive it.

They regrouped and turned wandering zu’aan at a much higher rate and twenty years later, finally able to fight back and win their lands. Years of scheming and experience had helped them along the way. They did it all without the help from any other clans and this has only made them tougher and able to endure hardships. After all this, they made traps and strengthened their army and defense system. They built shades to guard during sunlight too and started disguising a few to look like zu’aan, so that they could spy on the zu’aan and relay information about any attacks and battles, if they planned on doing such things again.
