The Eliasaam cataract bog was covered in plenty of bogs that would give the region its distinctive name. The region experienced quite a lot of rainfall and was also drained by a single river that would occasionally flood its banks and leave behind soft water saturated soil when it receded. The terrain of the region consisted of many rolling hills that were covered in vegetation and plants with most of the flatter grounds covered in bogs. The region was quite heavily wooded and it was not rare to have people and animals accidentally stumble into these bogs while trying to find their way around the region at night.

The region was settled by native zu'aan tribes from a very early period. They would build up many small settlements and plantations throughout the entire region. The zu’aan of the region maintained communications with many of the surrounding zu'aan tribes and trade flourished in the region as a result. These zu'aan would adopt many of the native plants of the region for large-scale cultivation and would ensure the population a regular supply of food grains. The region was revolutionized by Precnem Procuus- a religious leader who would establish the [[Hraniagu Tribal Zu'Aan]].

He was known for his deep knowledge of the regions geography as well as his ability to predict the weather and track the wildlife of the region. He became a regular wanderer of the Eliasaam bogs after the loss of both his employment and family to a native attack and would go on to find a new religion in the process. His teachings attracted the teachings of a powerful local Lord named Emancix. The leader came to Precnen with the hopes of learning more about this new religion.

Under Precnem's guidance, Emancix would oversee a period of cultural revolution for his tribe, changing them from a warring clan to a more peaceful and diplomatic group that made lots of advancements. The progress that the change in mentality did for his clan would further lead to the spread of Precnam's message. The leadership of the clan would pass on to Precnem after Emancix's death. His first set of changes included a renaming of the group into the Hraniagu zu'aan clan.

He instituted reforms meant for the promotion of trade and contact with different cultures around the region. He continued his peaceful preaching but started a pragmatic approach to the clan's security. He devoted a hefty share of the Hraniagu clan’s profits to the construction of defenses and the recruitment and training of a professional army. Under his rule, the Hraniagu would establish themselves as an economic powerhouse with a far-reaching trade network that reached out to all corners of the region.

The clan would successfully repel many kin’toni sieges during the kin’toni outbreak but at a massive cost to their treasury and defensive structures which were barely standing by the end.

==Geography==

The most prominent feature of the Eliasaam region were its large bogs that covered most of the flat regions of the region. The bogs were formed as a result of the heavy rainfall and the presence of a river that would occasionally flood during the monsoon. The soil of the region would turn very viscous when saturated with water and this stagnant mud would become part of the bog. The soil was very soft and would slowly begin to suck in any object of substantial weight. It could prove to be deadly in many situations, especially given the remote nature of these bogs and the unavailability of any help within miles of the vicinity.

The bogs would regularly claim many of the wildlife of the region as well as the occasional zu'aan who by some accident, found their way into one of these bogs. These bogs were located in the flatter surfaces of the region where the water had no way to drain out. The hillier section of the region was occupied by more conventional vegetation that included many varieties of grasses and trees. These sections were also home to many of the zu'aan cultivators who created large-scale plantations for many local crops.

This provided the region with enough grain to sustain themselves and even trade with other regions. The region was also home to many wild animals that were regularly hunted by the zu'aan for their meat and hide. The difficult and dangerous surroundings of the region necessitated the presence of guides and scouts in the region who could pick out safe routes across the bogs and ways to navigate the region. These professionals would spend months, being camped out in the wild while slowly tracing and marking the safest paths across the region.

The road networks were not very developed in the interior of the region because of the presence of bogs. The people would simple erect cairns and stone markers to denote places and safe routes across the region. The Eliasaam cataract bog experienced three kinds of season. Summers, monsoon and winters. Temperatures during the summers could reach up to thirty degrees and would be followed by regular lightning storms and rains. This period would see the blossoming and growth of many of the region's vegetation.

This season was followed by the monsoons when the region would experience constant rains. The rivers would overflow its banks and create many new bogs and lead to many hazardous spots developing all over the region. The temperatures would start to fall during this period and hover around the twenty-degree mark. The temperatures would continue to fall throughout the winter season where it would reach single digits. sleet and hail were the most common form of precipitation during this period.

The Eliasaam would occasionally experience light snowfall during this season that would blanket the region in white and leave behind many puddles and isolated pockets of water once it melted. Fog and mist were also a regular occurrence during this season and could increase the dangers of zu’aan accidentally wandering into these areas.

==Plants==

The Eliasaam cataract bog had a mix of coniferous and deciduous plants that covered the rolling hills and elevated sections of the region. The flatter sections had many large bogs that were spread throughout the region and surrounded by all kinds of trees and shrubby grasslands. The bogs were covered in many different types of reeds and grasses that grew out of the water. Some of the most significant plants in the region included the estsh- a common type of reed that grew all around the bogs.

The aAtos- an aquatic plant that grew in the deepest sections of the bogs, the reurdan- a common coniferous tree and the noyuna- a seasonal tree that flowered during the summer months. The estsh was easily distinguishable as one of the only reeds that grew along the bogs. It could grow to over five feet above the surface of the bog. The reed was colored a light golden and had a very pliable and strong structure and was commonly woven together and used as rope by the natives of the region. This rope was able to withstand incredible loads and had a lot of application in the dangerous environments of the Eliasaam bogs.

These ropes were used to create reins and saddles on their mounts or to construct their temporary camps. It was also a vital part of every adventurer's gear and was useful in rescuing both zu'aan and livestock that had fallen into these bogs. The atos was naturally found in aquatic surroundings underneath the waters, but was also found in the bogs of the Eliasaam region. The tips of the atos plant poked through the surface of the bog in certain parts and was known to indicate deeper and dangerous sections of the bog.

These plants were home to many of the smaller organisms and animals that lived within the Eliasaam bogs. It had a distinctive dark green color that was very nutritious and consumed by many of the animals who could reach them. The reurdan was a coniferous tree that grew in the more solid sections of the Eliasaam bogs. It could grow to a height of over twenty meters and were a regular source of wood in the region. Their wood was resistant to the damp conditions of the region and was resistant to rot.

The zu'aan who settled in the region would build their settlements out of this wood because of its favorable properties. The noyuna was a seasonal deciduous tree that flowered during the monsoon months to produce many yellow florets that would cover it entirely. The tree would also shed all of its leaves during the winter months. The wood of the noyuna was used for more special purposes as it was rarer than other more readily available trees. The noyuna also produced fruits along with its flowers and was a reliable dietary source for the zu'aan of the region.

==Animals==

The Eliasaam Cataract bog was home to a variety of wildlife, most of these creatures lived in the wooded and grassy sections of the region while a few were adapted to live in the bogs of the region. The animals of the region were able to live quite undisturbed lives for most of the year and were only hunted during the winters when the zu'aan's grain supplies would start to run out. The meat was also required to provide them with vital fats and protein to survive the occasionally brutal winters.

The hunters of the region were famed for their skills and knowledge of the region and could find their way through the bogs to seek out hidden watering holes or gathering spots of these wildlife. The most common animals of the Eliasaam region included the incredibly agile isath deer- a staple diet of the zu'aan natives, the rhathdskel- a domesticated mount that could also be very wild and aggressive in the wild, the iausk- domesticated farm animals that were reared for their meat and wool and the bog dwelling irirme frogs.

The isath was a common type of wild deer that infested the rolling hills away from the bogs. They were known for their agility and could outrun all of the other animals as well as the zu'aan. They would occasionally wander across the bogs and into the rivers during the summer months to cool off. Many of them would be found stuck in the bogs when they embarked on these journeys where they would eventually be dragged away by other predators or zu'aan hunters. Their surprisingly lean legs were capable of carrying their fatty body that was filled with fat reserve and succulent grass-fed meat.

They were a regular staple of the zu'aan diet, especially in the winters when their meat could help warm up the internal organs. They were very intelligent creatures and would actively try to evade the zu'aan hunters with misleading footprints and decoy scents that they would leave all over the region. The rhathdskel was a common animal that existed as wild and aggressive beasts out in the wild. These large beasts could become exceptional mounts once they were trained and domesticated as mounts.

Their specialized hooves were also made to traverse through the bogs and they had no trouble wading through the shallower ends. They stood at an imposing six feet and could perceive zu'aan emotions such as love or fear. The animal did not panic easily- making it a reliable mount for use in combat. The iausk was a sheep like creature that was quite small and raised by the hundred by the farming zu'aan communities of the region. The animal produced a valuable soft wool that was commonly incorporated into zu'aan clothing along with its meat that was commonly eaten as a stew.

The Irirme frog was a creature that lived in the bog sections of the Eliasaam region. It was one of the largest frogs- measuring in at over eighty centimeters from end to end and could easily weigh over thirty pounds. They were a considered as a delicacy in the region and were frequently caught by the hunters who roamed the region.
