==Geography ==

The geography of Eld's region was dominated by tall trees and surrounding hills. With so many groves and tilting hills, the terrain was uneven, with several inclines and elevations. Caves as old as 20 million years can be seen in various hills. On deeper exploration into these enclaves, pieces of decayed wood, sculptures on the walls, and drifting scents of ash can be detected, supporting the history behind the importance of the area in the zu'aan-kin'toni war. Little remnants of homegrown crops can be seen growing in the area, confirming human habitation and the attempt to plant crops. Although the land is not an ideal place for construction or farming, in the Twilight Age, small portions of the land have been developed for proper construction usage, and smaller parts have been used for growing some of Eld's most common fruit crops.

With an entire land mass of about 5000 kilometers, one large river can be found in the Eld's region; it is called River Dina'ki. Along the banks of this river, locally grown crops thrive in masses and serve a lot of travelers passing through Eld's on their way to their next destination. The River Dina'ki is home to a number of nutritious plants and fish, making it a great place for camping in the summer. It flows straight from the north to the south. The four major seasons of this region share one thing in common: the consistency in the composition of the trees. In the spring, the twitting of the lika bird can be heard clearly on the trees, migrating from the north.

Spring ushers in so many sounds and liveliness in the forest hills.In the summer, the heat of the sun scares wild animals into a confined space and is suitable for people who plan on getting tanned while camping at the bank of Dina'ki. Winter lasts for about two months in the Eld's region and causes the river to overflow into the forest itself. During this period, the leguminous plant "boch'il" thrives so well. Autumn is full of so many groves covered in flowers from various plants that it is no wonder most men court young ladies in this season. The colorful and dense area of the Eld's deciduous forest hills, makes it difficult for sound and sight to work properly.

Its geography is purely beneficial to the cities surrounding it, as it helps with necessary resources, like firewood, food and construction materials.

== Plants ==

Eld's deciduous forest hills are full of life, and many of the plants found in this region are for medicinal purposes, some of which can be seen all over Taerel. These are the plants native to this region:

Skarthi: A short plant with thick leaves and bark that secretes a milky substance that is used for treating skin diseases in babies. Skarthi grows in mass during the spring. It is purple in color with thick, green leaves and a tap root system. Small test samples of this plant have been taken and planted in the Nyche City for experimental analysis. Scientists are still trying to create the right soil for the skarthi to thrive outside the Eld's region.

Boch'il: is a widely sought legume in Taerel. Known for its delicious taste as a condiment and snack, it survives in cold conditions. It is a tall plant with green pods of boch'il seeds. The seeds are good for cooking when the pod turns a yellow color. Its seeds are also great condiments in meals like lupir soup and the ghrat delicacy.

Trua'm Algae: This is found in the River Dina'ki. It provides the right nutrients needed for Dina'ki fish to develop fully. It is a blue-green plant with red flowers. With a taproot system, the trua'm algae grows up to 2ft tall and is used for treating tooth ache amongst the old. The flower is grinded into powder form and applied for 30 minutes, before it is rinsed off and the pain subsides.

Physa and sco'ly: These twin plants are regarded as the most common to be found in the forest hills. It is a pair of brown deciduous trees found together in every area of the Eld's region. It grows up to 7 feet tall and has a width of 200 meters. The physa is a hard wood with long, spindly leaves and green colored fruits. The sco'ly is a twine that depends on the physa tree for its existence. In the shattering age, while developments are ongoing and houses are being built, the physa and sco'ly trees found on the outside of the area are being cut down for the creation of building materials.

== Animals ==

Cpukt: Of the fish in the River Dina'ki, the cpukt is the largest. It is a yellow-flying fish with a mass of about 20 kg. It preys on small fish like the pratichus. With spots of red on its scale, the cpukt is able to camouflage among the trua'm algae with ease. The fins of the fish are slightly smaller than those of normal fish. Its dorsal fin is more developed than the pratichus. cpukt live alone in deep holes in the ground of Dina'ki. They can fly up to 3ft above water before returning to the water, as breathing outside the water is nearly impossible.

Inut'yew: This small land mammal is known for its profound snout and little feet. It has greenish fur and protects itself by spitting a poisonous substance called "yewnom", which blinds its predators. It feeds on grass and shrubs. Living in large numbers in small burrows, the inut'yew is more family oriented than any other animal in the Eld's region. The inut'yew stick together in herds to prevent any form of attack against them. Their burrows are made up of small tunnels and refreshed daily with more sand to cover up their location on the ground.

Asg'ra: One of the smartest animals on land, often likened to a fox. It has a bushy red tail, black beady eyes, a short flat nose, two sets of paws, and a large head. It can grow as tall as 4 feet and dwells in caves. It preys on small land animals like the inut'yew. Its method of attack is quick and efficient; it stalks its prey for close to two hours before attacking at the slightest stray from the herd.

Lika: This is a migrant bird with beautiful purple and white feathers. It has a puffy brown chest and short, stubby legs, which support its weight on the physa tree. Attached to the head of the lika is a small brown comb, which bobs at every movement. It is a sight to behold in the spring. The Lika feeds on small insects and worms.

Pratichus: This is a freshwater fish with short dorsal fins and an electrified body. It has a small brown head and black body. It feeds primarily on worms and is commonly prepared in Nyche homes as the Ghrat delicacy. The Pratichus protects itself by releasing electric energy around itself, like a bubble of protection.
