==History==

The Dadeel zu'aan clan were founded by a prominent zu'aan businessman by the name of Levavua Navutan. He was at the height of his peak, the boss of the Gariev Arms Co.- that monopolized the arms trade in the region. He was born into the prestigious family that owned the prestigious company and thus succeeded in its leadership once he came of age. His success and good fortune will come to an end once the kin'toni outbreak reached the [[Gariev Beach Meadow]] region. The following collapse of the economy and trade would spell the ruin of many large corporations, including Levavua's.

His company began to sustain heavy losses and after successive periods of heavy losses- were no longer able to afford the protection of the King. He would thus, be forced to depart from the city as the government and his rivals increasingly began to turn and act out against him. He left for the secluded forests at the edges of the Gariev meadow with a stockpile of his weapons and a contingent of his most loyal henchmen and bodyguards who would become the core fighting force of his new clan.

The move saved him from a kin'toni siege that followed his departure and destroyed the Gariev kingdom and its entire city. A mass exodus of zu'aan refugees from the cities and into the countryside would follow and Levavua took advantage of the situation to recruit these hapless members into his new clan with guarantees and promises of protection and prosperity. The only condition that these members had to abide by was to fully accept his authority and live by the rules that he had laid out for all members of the clan.

The clan would find success in their defense against the kin'toni raids during these first few years as they utilized Levavua's supply of arms and weapons against the kin'toni hordes to great effect. The trouble would follow soon after they had exhausted these supplies and had to find new ways to defend themselves. They would rediscover the art of metallurgy and resort to the use of crude bronze spears along with wooden and leather shields for defense.

The clan was also famous for their construction of their spiked wooden palisades that measured almost fifty feet in height and was successful in keeping away the kin'toni invaders for many years to come and allowed the clan to prosper behind their safety.In all the clan was successful in navigating these turbulent times and became famous for their professional military that was recruited from among the able-bodied members of the clan. They were compensated very handsomely for their service, in keeping with their capitalistic values.

This was another feature of the clan that distinguished than most of the other zu’aan clans surviving the kin’toni outbreak. They were staunch believers of capitalism and practiced it in their everyday lives. This was inspired by their founder, Levavua- who was a successful businessman and well versed in the operation of the market. Thus, any member of the clan who could create a valuable item or provide a required service would find themselves reimbursed for their effort. This encouraged the development of many new systems in the clan and the existence of many innovators within their ranks.

==Psychology==

The Dadeel zu'aan clan's psychology was dominated by the innate desire to trade and do business. They were trading folk by nature and this was honed by their founder, Levavua's insistence to promote trade and commerce within the clan and outside it. Most of the clan's characteristic wants and desires stemmed from Levavua himself, who was a wily businessman who excelled at the art of tradecraft and negotiations. He believed in capitalism and the need for a free market where demand and supply would determine the flow of goods and trade.

His followers would adopt this belief until it became part of their most innate desires and thoughts. They believed that the free system was fair for all, and allowed the most capable and determined to succeed, without any regard for one's birth, class or position in society. The Dadeel were mercantile folk and had above all, a desire to further their wealth and position in society. They were shrewd and cunning in negotiation and talks and were addicted to negotiations and bargains.

It was very common to see shopkeepers and vendors barter with their customers for hours in the roads of Gariev before eventually arriving at a final deal. These bargaining sessions could get very heated and hostile but the clan were taught to not take the art of negotiation personally. It was rare for a Dadeel to get offended during the course of negotiations and bargains, when insults would be hurled around at all corners. They were one of the friendliest clans and were known for their welcoming attitudes towards most of the other zu'aan clans.

They were knowledgeable about the cultures and practices of most of the other tribes that surrounded their region and regularly conversed in three different languages that were commonly understood all over the Gariev and the surrounding lands. This welcoming attitude had its roots in their mercantile tradition where they were regularly exposed to many different cultures and had to learn new ways of making deals with different types of people. Their welcoming attitudes would not change even after the kin’toni invasions when they continued to welcome many different zu’aan into their tribe.

They did not harbor any prejudices against other clans and all were welcomed to become part of their clan.
The Dadeel tribal zu'aan were known for their creativity and regularly innovated many different weapons, tools and items to make their life easier. This climate of innovation was nourished by their capitalistic beliefs and the prospect of selling their latest innovations for handsome profits among the other zu'aan tribes of the region.

They had very inquisitive attitudes towards everything and wanted to learn more about life and the manipulation of natural phenomenon for their own advantage. These included the use of simple mechanics and physics to build tools like catapults and simple windmills that helped them accomplish complicated tasks and become more effective in all areas of combat and productivity. They would help to transform the lives of many clans in the region with their tools and technologies.

==Culture==

The Dadeel zu'aan culture was known for its encouragement of all forms of freedom from carefree expression in the form of music and dance to regulated debates and their signature free market. The expression that was allowed under this culture helped the development of all these arts and led to the advancement of their culture. The Dadeel people prided themselves on their principles of liberty and it was used as advertisement and selling point to attract new zu'aan into their clan.

Their freedoms were comparatively larger than in most other clans- there were no provisions for compulsory recruitment of the citizenry into the military like in other clans and they were allowed to market their own products as well as their services. All this was conducted in a large forum that was the center of their trade and marketing activities. It was the heart of culture and exchange of all the local gossip and a place to socialize with other members of the clan. Every morning locals as well as traders from other zu'aan regions would bring their goods and set up their stalls in the complex.

These markets would run for all day long and lead to a healthy exchange of culture, goods and innovation. The Dadeel's culture of debate and negotiations were honed in the narrow alleys of these bazaars. The people of the Dadeel were free to choose their own occupations and practice their own trades which was a luxury not common among most zu'aan clans of the era. The Dadeel culture was very accepting of other cultures and encouraged intermixing and relations among all neighboring clans.

They were very diplomatic and conducted many friendly and productive negotiations with many clans around the region. Their founder, Levavua had many connections from his earlier life as a businessman and he leveraged many of these connections for the good of the clan. This led to an influx of many new members and partners who brought their cultures and led to a healthy mix of variety within the Dadeel. The Dadeel's culture also promoted the innovation of many new inventions as well as artistic creations for which there was a healthy market.

Their free culture led to the explorations of many topics that were considered taboo in many other cultures and led to the boom of creative arts and practices. The mood among the Dadeel was usually cheerful and optimistic in spite of their circumstances which included the constant threat of kin’toni attacks. The clan celebrated a lot of festivals and it was popular belief that no circumstance, however grim could thwart the mood within the clan. They were fun loving and were always looking to squeeze out every ounce of happiness out of these moments.

These festivals were not religious in nature but rather events that were used to commemorate the achievements of the clan. They also served as avenues for the promotion of the clan’s cultures as many distinguished guests from other clans were regularly invited to join in the festivities.

==Government==

The government of the Dadeel zu'aan clan was at the hands of a single leader like Levavua Navutan, who had the economic means to control most of the clan's resources. The leader was responsible for setting an example of the clan's capitalist values by accepting and participating in the clan's market and trade forums. He was responsible for drawing up economic policies and measures such as taxes after careful deliberations with representative from among his clan. This leader controlled the majority of the clan's fortunes and was expected to make the greatest contributions for any cause and to also utilize the taxes for the good of the clan.

He was in charge of other affairs as well such as the organization of the military, although he had more capable and experienced generals who could guide him in this regard. The leadership was not selected based on military skills like in other clans but rather on a person's economic capacity and knowledge. Leader's such as Levavua kept a wide berth off the military and left them at the capable hands of his designated generals. This prevented his authority from becoming overbearing and prevented him from dabbling in matters where he was less experienced in.

Diplomacy was another matter where the leader's constant attention was demanded. Levavua with his array of contacts and his knowledge of the outside world was very successful in this art. He also maintained a large group of emissaries and diplomats who were sent out to all corners of the world to act as his personal representatives. The leadership of the zu'aan not always hereditary and there was no mandate in place for the election of a new one. The most common way of passing on the leadership was to a biological heir or in the absence of one- to the next most eligible candidate appointed by the previous leader before his death.

This left lots of room for politics in the selection of a new leader and it was often some of the most turbulent times in the clan’s history when a leader had died without leaving behind either a biological or a designated heir. The government was responsible for the construction of many of the clan's defenses and public buildings. Levavua fulfilled his role exceptionally in this role and set a very high bar for his successors as he completed the building of the clan's defenses in the form of their fifty feet walls.

This is along with their forum which served as a center of trade and commerce for the clan as well as a center where neighboring clans could bring in and display their wares for trade. The leader functioned alongside a group of elected advisors and councilors who were selected from among the distinguished members of the clan. Their expertise could range from military, to trade and commerce, diplomacy and public affairs. There were no economic advantages associated with these positions to prevent corruption from seeping into the government and contributed immensely to the longevity of the Dadeel's systems and structures.

==Military==

The Dadeel's military history began with their founder Levavua Navutan, who was responsible for creating and equipping the army with the best equipment and gear that he could salvage from his private stockpile. This was possible because of Levavua's previous involvement in the arms trade. The popular weapon manufacturing company known as the Gariev Arms Co. was his family's legacy and he would take over as the head of the company once his father passed. He would retain this position until the circumstances following the start of the kin'toni outbreak forced the company to shut down operations.

Levavua would flee the region with his private security and a large stockpile of weapons that would supply the Dadeel's army when he eventually formed the clan. The stockpile of these latest military hardware would help the tribe maintain their supremacy in the region and defend themselves from the constant kin'toni attacks. The military regulations during this period were relatively relaxed because the army's ability to comfortable handle the kin'toni threat. Recruitment policies were relaxed and it was not mandatory for citizens to render military service like in most other zu'aan clans of the times.

This period of comfort would not last forever and the Dadeel would be forced into harsher times after their weapons from Levavua's stockpile began to dwindle. This forced the clan to adapt to new weapons and training as they began to produce locally made bronze spears and wooden shields which they adopted as the standard weapons for the military. The adoption of these new weapons would require a complete retraining of the army and left them in a vulnerable state for some years.

Their new methods were also less effective in dealing with the kin'toni. Thus, the Dadeel had to adopt more defensive tactics and actively avoid military confrontations to prolong the survival of their clan. Recruitment also became a contentious subject of debate and certain sections of society such as the indebted and the needy were forced into military service in exchange for the removal of their debts. The military suffered from many desertions and disorganization within their ranks during this period, forcing the clan to rely on their walls and structural defenses for safety.

These fifty feet, spiked walls were more than adequate for this purpose and kept away many invaders and attackers for many years. As a result of their decreased effectiveness, the Dadeel's military was only used as a defensive force during the latter part of the era. They had a legacy of being among the first professional army in the region, who were paid for their service. This became the norm because the first military personnel of the clan were Levavua's personal bodyguards, who were paid mercenaries and some of the toughest and ablest soldiers among the zu’aan.

Since the clan believed in capitalism, it was only fair that their military too should be arranged to follow the model and that every willing member was compensated based on his ability to perform the army’s task and duties.

==Religion==

The Dadeel were known to be extremely rational people with very sensible beliefs. They are known for their rejection of all religious customs and beliefs of the other zu'aan. They are very skeptical about spirituality and don't follow any particular religion. The majority of them are known to be atheists and have no religious beliefs, routines or superstitions. Due to their high regard for freedom the Dadeel do not enforce these beliefs on any of their members, nor on outsiders and every person is free to arrive at his own conclusion and choose his religion for himself.

Their settlement is known for the presence of many distinct places of worship from other clan's. These small places were usually built for traders from other lands who would come to sell their goods in the region. It was a common joke among zu'aan of the area that the Dadeel only worshipped their money and freedom. The joke was closer to the truth than most imagined. Despite their policy of acceptance, Levavua feared that the clan could fall prey to conversions and missionaries that would cause people to leave his clan.

Thus, he imposed a very high tax for worshippers of any religion along with those responsible for constructing places of worship. This fear would only grow worse as the clan began to face more enemies and kin'toni attacks until they eventually began to promote their own atheism as a religion. This measure was quite successful in creating an identity and belief system for the people to follow and prevented them from veering off towards other cultures and religions.

The tenets of this religion were written by a few conservative Dadeel teachers with the permission and support of Levavua Navutan. The convinced the Dadeel leader by spreading tales about similar clans like them who had fallen prey to the cultural influences of their neighbors. The principles of the religion were more like a legal code that acknowledged the Dadeel's principles of freedom and capitalism and that every member of the clan should cherish and worship these freedoms.

The book proclaimed that living under these principles was the only way of serving their religion. In order to dissuade people from turning to other religions, the tenet would mention that the laws of freedom and liberty would no longer apply to members who had converted to other belief systems. Punishments would also be prescribed for people who left their culture and belief systems for other religions in times of war and conflict. Some of the harshest punishment for these crimes included expelling and curtailing of the persons freedom and liberty.

These beliefs would become a natural part of their government systems where each member swore an oath to uphold his own and the people's freedom and liberty. These were seen as a service towards the clan and carried with them an almost religious implication.
