==History==

The Cheyckmor people have always resided in the [[Atrkin Autumnal Boreal Grove]], and serve as its preserver, making sure to look after it. When the first inhabitants arrived, they were simply a group of hunters, searching for food that could feed their local village. Then they ended up in the Atrkin Autumnal Boreal Grove and got lost but were left mystified by its beauty; there were great towering trees that had a dominating presence. In awe of its appearance, the hunters chose not to cut down many trees or cause a lot of damage to the landscape but chose to reside in the area in tents that they had.

Living off the wildlife, they also found many mushrooms and one day they consumed a mysterious, purple type that caused them to see visions, where they believed they had witnessed the trees being creations of a divinity that were merely asleep and resting in the grove, occasionally watching over those that roamed it. Soon, they saw a divinity called Gylsyn the Grove Goddess (actually just a hallucination due to the side effects from the mushrooms), who spoke to them and said how they would be the protectors of the region, making sure to keep it safe from any poachers as well as lumberjacks who dared use the region for its resources, cutting down the trees and reducing the population of the wildlife.

Additionally, Gylsyn the Grove Goddess informed them that they were free to use the resources that they had been provided, for they were deserving of the supplies for being so noble and pious. Nowadays, it is tradition to consume these mushrooms in order to communicate with Her and request blessings and fortune. Now the Cheyckmor people reside in the Atrkin Autumnal Boreal Grove, serving Gylsyn the Grove Goddess by protecting the area. To this day, there are still many who choose to reduce the number of trees they must cut down by living in tents, whilst those who are less orthodox but more liberal tend to use dead trees and foliage to construct their housing.

Throughout its history, the region has been susceptible to many powerful figures desiring to claim the location due to its natural beauty or its resources. For instance, there have been many times when a ruler such as a king or an emperor have tried to claim the Atrkin Autumnal Boreal Grove as their own garden of sorts or place of relaxation, whilst greedy, wealthy businessmen would make an attempt to purchase the land, which the Cheyckmor people refused to accept. At times, there were occasions when those who desired the land would get violent, sending in their troops to try and claim the place with force.

To which its inhabitants were forced to retaliate, and believing that they had Gylsyn the Grove Goddess on their side they were always successful in fighting against invaders. To this day, the kin’toni of the region continue to act as defenders of the Atrkin Autumnal Boreal Grove.

==Psychology==

At first, the inhabitants of the Atrkin Autumnal Boreal Grove were at peace and embraced the tranquillity of the region, allowing their minds to be consumed by the serenity of the ambience, which was usually a calming silence with a hint of soothing sounds of nature, like the music of animals or the gentle blowing off wind shaking the colourful, lively leaves. Initially, the hunters who had been sent to the area in search of food were determined to do their task, not feeling any guilt or other emotions about killing the wildlife of a grove, but due to its beauty, there was a feeling of protectiveness.

And they sensed that there was something special about the place so felt that they should stay longer, not disturbing or shattering the peace that had already been formed. Then there was the occasion when they tried some mushrooms, and all ended up having group visions of a deity (Gylsyn the Grove Goddess) who spoke to them and gave them information of what they must do; their goal would be to prevent any harm from ever being inflicted on the Atrkin Autumnal Boreal Grove. Being more than happy to do so, the hunters felt as if they had been blessed and Gylsyn the Grove Goddess had had mercy on them.

Giving them a chance to redeem themselves from their previous way of life of hunting and instead of being the protectors of the flora and fauna. Then there came the occasions when there would be monarchs and influential people who attempted to claim the region for themselves, desiring the area due to its stunning, beautiful, spectacular nature. However, the residents were now very pious people, and always remembered what their deity had said, so never let anyone claim a part of the region out of fear they would harm it and that therefore the Cheyckmor would have sinned and failed in following their duties.

As a result of this, some of these people felt very entitled and almost expected that the Cheyckmor people would hand it over out of fear, but the residents were very resilient and strongheaded people who would not give in so easily. Due to this, many of the monarchs would send their royal troops or the influential people could deploy their private armies, hoping to claim the Atrkin Autumnal Boreal Grove by force. However, knowing that this would be a possibility, the Cheyckmor people trained themselves in combat, and become very prodigious in camouflage as well as proficient in guerrilla warfare tactics since it best suited the environment they would be defending.

To this day, there are fewer invaders but there can still be a few occasions, however, the Cheyckmor people can have pride in the fact that they have been undefeated despite not being one of the most influential or dominant clans in Taerel. Whilst they are very strong both mentally and physically, some of the inhabitants suffer from the trauma of battling, which could be justification for why some members behave almost animal-like or have insane, peculiar behaviours.

==Culture==

Filled with a peaceful nature, the Atrkin Autumnal Boreal Grove is a location that is not very densely populated but is rich with its own thriving culture. One of the most noticeable features is the lack of housing within the central area, except for possibly a few shacks, which is due to the fact that many do not want to harm the environment and obey Gylsyn the Grove Goddess by doing so; as for the outskirts the believers of Akarus, God of Hunting resided there and did not feel very restricted by the rulings of those who believed in Gylsyn the Grove Goddess, so chose to construct their housing out of wood and lumber, but at the same time attempted to not damage the beauty of the region.

As an alternative deeper within the Atrkin Autumnal Boreal Grove, many choose to form camps where small groups of people can live together, each with their own set of tents and a small campfire that was used minimally so that there was less harm to nature – the fuel for it would also be wood but only twigs and parts of dead trees or logs. Hence, there was a sense of community, and this could be observed by the fact that the Cheyckmor people were very festive, with the ability to be very cheerful and joyful during celebrations of their deity – these events were frequent annually and would consist of plenty of dancing, singing, socialising and also consumption of food and drink.

In relation to food, there were many vegetarian dishes that were consumed by the Cheyckmor people, which would be very flavourful and delicious as they incorporated lots of herbs and spices. The vegetables that were consumed would usually be made into a healthy, tasty soup or broth that would provide warmth and comfort against the winds of the region, or in some instances, the vegetables could be boiled and then eaten. The believers of Akarus, God of Hunting would also have similar dishes however choose to incorporate meat in some method, which would usually be in the form of cutlets.

Overall, there were plenty of food options that the Cheyckmor people had since they were also skilled in bakery, for they made many amazing cakes and pastries that would then have a dash of spices on top and in some cases some nuts put on top to add a pleasant, appetising crunch to the foodstuff. A lot of these would be sweet dishes, which would also use jams that would be mixed with sugar to give a pleasurable taste; another use for these berries was that they could be made into refreshing juices that could be consumed as a beverage.

The farming of syrup was also fairly common, and it was tradition to feed the wildlife as the Cheyckmor people saw themselves as being the protectors of all flora and fauna in the Atrkin Autumnal Boreal Grove.

==Government==

When the first inhabitants moved into the Atrkin Autumnal Boreal Grove, they were only a small group of hunters with the closest figure that could be said to be a ruler being the manager of the hunting group who would make sure that everyone in the team was working how they should be and that they could capture the most wildlife possible. In this case, this manager was called Haluk Sevgi, and upon entering the Atrkin Autumnal Boreal Grove, he felt a sense of awe and shock at its beauty, and to him he felt that the hunters should all take a break in the area, taking in its serenity and peacefulness, in comparison to finishing their work hastily and returning home.

Since not many managers were like this – and usually tended to be very strict and like workaholics, always focused on getting the job done regardless of anything else – the hunters were in a state of surprise, but they were more than happy to take this excursion from their usual day to day lives of going to random nearby locations, hunting down the wildlife and then bringing home the meat and other useful animal products. During this time, Haluk Sevgi eventually came to a realisation and felt that there was something really special about the Atrkin Autumnal Boreal Grove.

So decided that the hunters should stay with him and live there. Due to the fact many of these hunters did not have much to return to back home, they were excited and pleased to reside in such a stunning location, and that was how there was the start of a group of people called the Cheyckmor people, who worked together to look after the Atrkin Autumnal Boreal Grove. When the residents of the region encountered Gylsyn the Grove Goddess during their hallucinations, they soon realised that they would need to come together and would see Her as their leader but would have special people who were appointed to consume the strange mushrooms and receive orders from Her – in most cases these were just visions that they had.

These people could then inform the residents what actions must be taken for the benefit of the Atrkin Autumnal Boreal Grove, and that was how the government functioned within the region. There were also some divisions however due to religious beliefs, but overall the more commonly followed faith was the one who was superior and hence had a greater say and stronger influence over the ruling of the region; those who did not want to follow the rulings given by Gylsyn the Grove Goddess were often worshippers of Akarus, God of Hunting, so chose to live on the outskirts and try to live life by their own rules, almost as a form of protest and rebellion.

Yet, this did not have much of an impact on how the region was managed and the formal rulers at the time allowed this to take place, feeling no fear as they knew that not a single resident in the Atrkin Autumnal Boreal Grove would dare damage the environment due to its beauty, and hence there was not much conflict between the factions.

==Military==

The hunters that first inhabited the Atrkin Autumnal Boreal Grove were definitely not skilled army personnel, but they were still trained in certain aspects that would have given them the potential to survive in combat. For example, they had the basic survival training as many of them would be forced to stay in a certain area for long periods hunting the wildlife present, so needed to know how to use their surroundings to their advantage, such as how they could use the trees to create a shelter if they were to stay overnight, or how to start a small campfire so that they could cook food and purify water.

Additionally, they would also be trained in using camouflage since it would be absolutely necessary if they desired to stealthily catch prey and would also be capable of using a bow and arrow so that they could hunt wildlife from a distance or shoot down birds and other animals high up in the trees; knives would also be used in order to slaughter animals or collects hides and furs, which would be fairly profitable or be used in making shelter warmer. However, upon consuming the strange mushrooms and envisioning Gylsyn the Grove Goddess, the residents of the Atrkin Autumnal Boreal Grove soon came to the realisation that they would need to become stronger if they were to become the protectors of the area.

And hence went to work training themselves and working harder, learning more about the area and coming up with strategies that they could use if the Cheyckmor people were ever attacked. Since they did not have many metals, they chose to use their scarce supply of these resources in their weaponry (such as sharp short-swords, deadly daggers, powerful knives and even pointy spears) as well as arrows in comparison to armour; in relation to the armour, they would often try to wear thicker layers of animal hide as well as leather, with some even finding a way to incorporate plates of durable, strong wood that could provide strength against blows.

However, this was usually only used by troops who would be on the front lines and not for those who were meant to be stealthy. Their abilities with archery were also improved, and crossbows became another choice of weaponry since they could deliver powerful blows that could penetrate the armour of enemies and leave deep wounds. Throughout its history, these military units have needed to fight against invaders who have tried to claim parts of the Atrkin Autumnal Boreal Grove for themselves despite being told it would be impermissible by the Cheyckmor people.

With one example being how the Stepanov royal family of [[Enta Rolling Hills]] wanted to make it their garden; the family had been known to do this to many other groves and woodlands in Taerel. When they were prevented from doing so, they sent their forces into the Atrkin Autumnal Boreal Grove, which led to severe conflicts. However, the Cheyckmor people remained undefeated with the area suffering from barely any damage, despite the threat of the Stepanov family’s troops burning down the area, which would fit their ideology of the idea that if they could not have a part of the land, they wanted then nobody else should be able to have it.

==Religion==

The hunters that first visited the Atrkin Autumnal Boreal Grove were likely atheistic or agnostic, however, those who were religious tended to believe in a god called Akarus, God of Hunting. They believed that worshipping Him would enable them to find wildlife to hunt and that if they gave a small offering to Him of what they had managed to find in their hunt, then they would get more and more rewards. He was said to be a tall figure that wore animal fur as clothing, and that He also had a large bow made of a strong, supernatural bow that was said to take the souls of the animals after it had been slaughtered.

And then lead it to Akarus, God of Hunting where it could live in peace, respected for serving the population of Taerel. However, as the hunters started envisioning Gylsyn the Grove Goddess due to the peculiar mushrooms (as a result of hallucinations they would experience as a side effect), many religious views within the region had changed. One of the key shifts was Akarus, God of Hunting was no longer seen as a deity, but in some cases even as a demonic figure who desired to really harm the wildlife rather than give it peace; the result of this was a divide in religious beliefs.

For some still chose to cling onto their ideologies regarding Akarus, God of Hunting as they felt that despite the animals losing their life they were ultimately sent to a more peaceful, blissful paradise. On the other hand, the worshippers of Gylsyn the Grove Goddess chose to have a slight hatred for those that did not change their ways and decided to make themselves protectors of the region for they felt that many other nations would want to claim the Atrkin Autumnal Boreal Grove for themselves and then ultimately harm it. Whilst there were not many conflicts.

A few arguments did occur due to the division of faiths, but overall, everyone had the principle that the region should be kept safe due to its beauty. Another common belief was the fact that many parts of the Atrkin Autumnal Boreal Grove were, in fact, alive, such as the trees which many believed were the creations of a divinity, who were actually sleeping and occasionally watching over the region, providing habitats and protection for the native wildlife. Additionally, many felt that due to the nature of the trees they must not cut them down.

However, some believers have said that religious members who have communicated with Gylsyn the Grove Goddess have been told that they are allowed to use whatever they require in the Atrkin Autumnal Boreal Grove if it is necessary for its protection, so some argue that if the wood is used to make homes or forts, or provide warmth then it is permissible to cut down trees; others choose to use wood from trees that have died or very old trees, with some claiming that by cutting down the more ancient trees that the spirits within them are able to once again return to Gylsyn the Grove Goddess.

In all honesty, most of these were simply just beliefs and could be due to the effect of the strange mushrooms they consumed causing such illusions.
