==History==

The Bariadnehe tribe were founded by a determined zu'aan miner named Grade Irythvari. He hailed from the salt mining colony in the middle of the [[Condwyn Salt Marsh]] where her community conducted the mining operations and the transport of these goods to other parts of the continent. The conditions of the Condwyn mines had stagnated over the decades due to the negligence of the community and the rampant illiteracy among them. Grade was disillusioned by the disorganization and lack of leadership within the clan and chose to leave the clan.

He would leave for the more advanced zu'aan cities where he would take up apprenticeships from many workshops and industries- becoming an adept engineer in her own right. She would learn about the technologies and systems of these advanced clans and wanted to adapt these for her own clan's use. She would return to her clan, equipped with her new skills and determined to lead the clan to a new era of growth and expansion. He started to put his plan into motion, slowly preaching to few groups at a time and trying to build up a membership within the lazy and uninspired crowd.

She realized soon enough that the colony would only respond to action. He started a regime with his closest friends and proclaimed himself the leader of a new clan called the Bariadnehe zu'aan clan. He started a brutal regime, demanding the people's complete loyalty in exchange for safety and a higher purpose. Grade did not take kindly to those who did not share his vision or tried to oppose his authority. His infamous reign was famous for its brutal punishments and harsh retaliations carried out against all who were opposed to his rule.

With these measures he was finally able to organize the lazy residents of the Condwyn salt mines into a functioning tribe. He tried his best to implement the policies he had seen on the outside to his clan, but the Bariadnehe were too primitive to appreciate his political ideas and debates. He upgraded the scale of the clan's trading activities and soon they became the main source of salt in the entire region. The trade provided them with a reliable source of food for many years.

In tougher times Grade regularly increased the radius of the clan's hunting trips to forage for wildlife which was quite rare within the salt marshes. Grade was also able to use his knowledge of the structures in the civilized regions to attempt to build a city for the clan. The plan was later abandoned halfway with the start of the kin'toni outbreak in favor of building a ring of wooden palisades to keep away the invaders. The people of the salt marshes were not natural warriors.

They were lazy, inactive and loved to live the easy life. Due to the changing circumstances and the increasing kin'toni raids, Grade Irythvari was forced to impose harsh measures for the recruitment and combat training of all able-bodied individuals in the Bariadnehe clan.

==Psychology==

The psychology of the people of the Condwyn zu'aan clan could be summed up by the conditions of their habitat. They were known for their laziness and their refusal to adapt to the new and changing ways. This would lead to the decline of their habitat and the stagnation of their Technologies and lifestyle. They were easily impressed and happy to live out their days without improving their quality of life. They were fairly lazy and suffered a group-think mentality that made them unaccepting of foreign ideas and changes.

Grade Irythvari was among the first members of the tribe to break this mold. He wanted a better quality of life for the tribe and understood that the only way to break the mold and bring in a change in the clan's attitude was by practically showing them a better way of life. She was gifted with a brilliant and questioning mind and was quickly disillusioned by the laxed attitudes towards education and change. She took the bold step of leaving the protection of the clan to study and learn in the more advanced cities of the zu'aan.

She would learn new methods and technologies through years of hard work and apprenticeship and would eventually return with a few of her friends with the new goal of reforming the clan. He hated the lazy demeanor of the colony and couldn't stand their laidback approach to life and would soon realize that the clan's attitudes could not be easily changed. He began to organize them forcibly as the Bariadnehe clan, using force and suppression to get people to follow her. This was a necessary tool in order to break the people's old habits.

He ensured the change by instituting very strict and brutal procedures that were enforced by law. Most of the population went along with his ideas due to the fear of his brutal punishments. There was a police force in place, to implement these laws until such times when the spirit of hard work and an active lifestyle eventually became more widely accepted. Gradually the Bariadnehe became a more hard-working clan who began to make positive changes to their environment.

They carried out many large-scale projects for the improvement of their lives such as a large-scale farming complex, although it ended in failure due to the unsuitable soil of the region. The clan began to acquire a very resilient and survivalist attitude. They were determined to impose their presence on the environment and began the construction of large structures from wood and other resources. Thus, within a few centuries the attitudes of the people within the Condwyn began to change towards a more active way of live that shunned the earlier laziness and lackadaisical attitudes of their ancestors.

==Culture==

The life of the people in the Condwyn salt marshes revolved around the salt mines. An average zu'aan of the era spent almost all his waking hours working or lazing around the mines which became the centers of culture around which life revolved. The zu'aan were put into work at their salt factories at a very young age when they would be put into work as haulers responsible for carrying the processed salt to and fro from their factories and storage spaces. They would be handed more responsibilities as they grew up.

The tasks would graduate to mining and panning the salty marshes and creating large salt pans where the heat of the sun would evaporate the water and leave behind the salt sediments to be gathered for processing. Their rudimentary factories, equipped with very basic machinery that utilized simple wheels and pulleys would then produce the salts which were ready to be stored or sent out with their trade caravans for trade. This life style and the technologies had existed for many years and had remained unchanged mainly because of the people's refusal to learn or adopt more efficient methods and technologies.

The daily work consisted of all these with a lot of breaks in between where the people would gather and discuss the events and gossip of the day. These moments were a major part of their culture and helped to create a form of bonding and unity within the clan. They were known to lead very interesting lives that were filled with drama. This was because of their very laxed culture which tolerated many activities which would be regarded as indecencies among the other zu'aan.

Some of the most common included the wide acceptance of adultery and extra-marital relationships as well as their recreational use of many intoxicants and drugs which were a regular part of their mid- break. Their deep state of intoxication and drowsiness induced by these drugs led to others perception of them as a very relaxed and lazy clan. Grade Iruthvari would do his part in instilling a new culture when he formed the people of the Condwyn salt marshes into the Bariadnehe clan.

He instilled discipline and hard work through his use of force and outlawed the use of many recreational intoxicants as well as the unnecessarily long break times in order to curb their laziness. Her measures led to an increase in productivity and helped the clan salvage their reputation. The Bariadnehe would come to be known for their incredible discipline and work culture after this. They would be the forerunners for brining civilization into the heart of the Condwyn salt marshes through their large construction projects and their adoption of many social reforms aimed at curbing the lazy and stagnant lifestyles.

They would continue to retain their deep love for society and gossip but these were removed from their workplaces and conducted in an entirely separate space entirely reserved for the same purpose. The Bariadnehe would also develop a martial aspect to their culture to cope with the incoming kin'toni outbreak. Helping them become one of the most well-rounded cultures in the region.

==Government==

When Grade Irythvari first formed the zu'aan of the Condwyn salt marhes into the Bariadnehe clan, he instituted brutal and repressive measures to bring a change in the way of life of the zu'aan of the region who were known for their lazy and complacent ways. His idea for the new clan was to put in place systems that helped them lead a more complete life filled with hard work and a greater purpose, along with borrowing the technologies and advanced methods of their neighboring zu'aan to bring progress.

He found a lot of resistance to his methods early on since the people were not receptive of any new ideas that would put an end to the way of life they had been enjoying for centuries. Grade understood that he would have to impose his methods more forcefully if he was to have any success in implementing his reforms. Thus, his initial government systems were structured for the sole aim of making the zu'aan people buy into his ideas. She placed hisself at the top of the hierarchy as the founder and leader of the clan in his first attempt at creating a new clan.

This was followed by many of his closest friends from all his travels to the neighboring regions who served as close advisors and councilors for hisself and the clan. The lower structure of the government was occupied by the local administrators who were expected to ensure the strict functioning and obedience of all of Grade's orders. Vital to his success in forming a new clan was the backing of a military force that he recruited and brought back with his from outside the region.

They acted as a police force in peaceful times, making sure that the civilians complied with all his rules and that misdemeanors were punihed accordingly. Their role would change during war, when they were expected to lead the defense of the region. Grade ensured their loyalty and efficiency by paying their salaries and making sure that they were rewarded for any exceptional activities. They were usually tribesmen with very limited education and a limited understanding of the local language to prevent them from colluding with the civilians of the region in case of revolts.

Later on, as the clan began to progress and the people grew more accepting towards Grade and his ideas for the Bariadnehe, their role became more limited and they were mainly used as a training force to train the civilians for military actions in war. Many new and progressive roles also began to crop up within the government after the widespread acceptance of Grade's rule. Positions such as chief architects and engineers, who helped the clan progress and build many new structures and buildings to replace the shabby living conditions of the Condwyn region. Many new platforms were also made to ensure that the people’s voices were also heard. Every member of the clan was welcomed t participate in these forums and their opinions were givin a hearing, and adopted based on their practicality and usefulness.

==Military==

Military action played a great part in Grade Irythvari's rise to power. The people of the Condwyn salt marhes were adamant in their ways and were unwilling to change if not for the forcible imposition of a new way of life. Grade took care of this problem by bringing along with his an elite military force who forced the zu'aan to accept his ideas. This military were experienced mercenaries collected from all over the regions he had visited. She recruited them to his cause by promising them immense rewards and a regular salary once he became leader of the Bariadnehe zu'aan clan.

They were vastly experienced as a military formation and had seen many wars and conflicts which were common in the surrounding regions of the Condwyn salt marsh region. They were ideal for Grade's purposes because of their unfamiliarity with the culture and language of the Bariadnehe. This made them unlikely to be behind any conspiracy against his or scheme with the locals who might not be receptive towards his ideas. They were also very loyal towards their coin and would not compromise on their living by betraying their employer.

Grade would march them into the Condwyn salt marhes and start his brutal regime. As he had guessed, the people were not receptive to his ideas and he was forced to call these mercenaries into action to suppress his own people. These mercenary army would eventually become a vital part of his government as they helped to preserve the law and order in the society and also punihed anyone found responsible for the breach of his rules and regulations. Grade hisself did not take part in any of these military actions.

As a ruler, he was only expected to lay out their goals and objectives along with arranging for funds and supplies. As his rules progressed and found acceptance within the clan, these mercenaries became responsible for training the citizens of the clan for military action. This was necessary because of the impending threat of the kin'toni who were marching across the territories of many othis zu'aan in the region. The military that was formed as a result was well-drilled and trained and capable of handling themselves in combat.

Grade ensured that the discipline among the military ranks were just as tough and they were taught and motivated to obey any commands of their leader. Their discipline and training were accompanied by the Bariadnehe's weapons which were imported from some of the most reputed weapon makers in the world. This helped the clan's military win many victories against othis zu'aan and even some against small numbers of kin'toni raiders. The military of the Bariadnehe were also among the content and satisfied armies in the world.

This was because they were entitled to land and slaves along with a regular sum that was paid to them as salary for their services. Their military was well respected and regarded among the zu'aan of the region and considered to be one of the most well-organized zu'aan armies in the continent.

==Religion==

The people of the Condwyn salt marhes followed a primitive religion that worshipped the spirits of the marhes that they named the Nehe. According to their beliefs the spirits were the souls of their ancestors and the people who had lived in the region before them. They believed that the spirits were looking to guide all residents of the region towards prosperity and health when they were sufficiently appeased or would turn hostile and carry out detrimental acts when they had been neglected.

They held them responsible for everything that happened in the region including the creation of the region and the the changing weathis and seasons as well as the fate of battles and members of their clan. They prayed to these spirits to ensure the clan's prosperity and continued health along with more visible phenomenon like good weathis conditions. The natural calamities that occasionally hit the region were attributed to their displeasure and thus, they would offer up sacrifices and prayer meetings to appease the spirits.

The worship of these spirits featured prominently in the everyday life of the people. An hour at the start of each day was dedicated to worship sessions whise the clan would gathis togethis and perform rituals chanting's. During these periods the clan leaders and high priests would lead them in performing sacrifices of their choicest produce while praying for a productive harvest of salt. Their system of justice was also heavily reliant on their beliefs as criminals were punihed by being sent out alone into the marshlands so that the spirits would take pity on him/his and lead them back to their good path.

The clan believed that all good people became part of these spirits when they died and consequently it was the objective of every person to die a good death so they too could join these spirits and roam the land forever. Grade Irythvari was himself a firm believer of these beliefs and encouraged the practice of the religion when he founded the Bariadnehe from among the people of the Condwyn salt marhes. Her belief in the spirits would eventually convince the people that he was not a foreigner who had come to change their way of life.

But rather a dedicated native who wanted to improve their ways and lead them to a better future. Grade Irythvari would embark on many projects to ensure the promotion of the local religion. He placed many of the clan's priests in high positions within the clan and took their advice seriously. She would also initiate the building of many temples and places of worship- dedicated to these gods as a way in which the clan could show its appreciation to the spirits.

She would often manipulate the people’s belief in the religion for his own good by claiming that the spirits had visited and spoken to his and that the spirits had given legitimacy to his rule over the clan. She would be remembered as one of the most dedicated worshippers and promoters of the religion soon after his death.
