==History==

In the year 4E 365, a group of seafaring merchants, who were members of a more prosperous tribe that inhabited a couple of islands, got lost during a storm. In their voyage, they remained for a couple of weeks with no signs of safety or land inbound, worsening much of the crew's morale and any ideals of hope that may have been present within the tribe's cultural expressions. Unfortunately, the same storm which got them lost kept accompanying them throughout much of their journey, leading to not only a loss of hope from such a dire situation and their ever-decreasing rations.

But an incredible loss of hope given the casualties which often took place due to the intensity of the storm. Right around the year 4E 368, they finally found a different source of feedback from the world than that of the storm; though, said alternative wasn't any calmer than their forepresent storm, as they faced a group of also seafaring kin'toni which threatened the stability of the Awroth tribal zu'aan. The Awroth's ship was rammed, and the kin'toni were from such a developed clan that they even shot arrows, some of them inflamed, as an attempt to burn down the zu'aan ship.

The pirate-like war they faced remained throughout the entire starting month of the year, damaging much of the crew's rations and safety. This kept on going for some time, until the Awroth finally saw an opportunity to make their escape. Seeing a massive cloud of fog which covered any external viewpoints towards their ships, they, without any other questions, pushed full speed into it, making the kin'toni clan, which by now didn't see much reason to keep pushing the Awroth, retreat and seek another ship to plunder.

The leader of such kin'toni also snickered while speaking to one of their generals, stating that the Awroth were walking into a natural suicide by faring the sea blindly. The Awroth faced a couple of challenges, but their visions were limited; speed kept increasing as they tried their hardest to find land, despite being at what was considered the end of any string of hope they once held onto. Nihilism was the law within such a ship, destined to roam the seas forever within fog.

Starvation became the rule, reigning more than any other tribe or kingdom which once ruled that sea, or so they thought until they crashed into the Acheo Island. The Awroth jumped from their ship, questionless about the land they had just arrived upon. They jumped from their boats, headfirst into the beach's sand, kissing it as they claimed such a piece of land. Further into the island, they quickly found out many locals had already established their own societies within i, many of them being aggressive and unfriendly towards other zu'aan.

That is, if they weren't just straight-up kin'toni, which caused our ex-merchants to begin to only settle along the shore of the Acheo Overgrown Beach.

==Psychology==

The psychological structure of the members of the Awroth tribal zu'aan works as a fair fruit from the very processes which were brought forth within the transition of that society from a group of seafaring merchants into the new island-based environment, carrying many of the traits derived from the group's history and its practical functionality. This has resulted in a tribe with a highly developed case of functional nihilism, something which came directly from how they survived a relentless storm, the entire kin'toni pirate siege, and even a blind fight through endless fog.

Which guaranteed nothing but their demise, and the forging of their psyche into a certainty around the empirical fact that life is supposed to be a tragedy. Their mindset is something which is related to still lay within the realm of what can only be described as fog, something which came directly as a result of the weeks they spent within that blinding fog, a result of which was how said blinding fog evolved into a permanent mental fixture. This makes it so many members of the Awroth fail to believe in the possibility of a clear future.

Making so their individual actions often take place without much consideration for other factors, since they often think they still sail blindly within the world of Taerel regardless. This makes many of their members quite immediateistic and to mostly consider solutions within the short-term, making it extremely rare for plans to be thought out through the next years, sometimes even months, weeks, and even days, making many of them prone to short-sighted decisions. The despair which shapes a fairly huge amount of the tribe's existence is responsible for one of the key traits of what has become the norm within the tribe's existence.

Which is a chase for expressions of chemical escapism, something often found in many types of booze, from beer to recreational vodka and many types of cocktails. This is done within the internalized psychological justification that it allows for the survivorship of their past memory without making them suffer too much for it, which also has led to the normalization of another notion which sees sobriety as something almost dangerous, where the painful sounds from their history can knock down any zu'aan regardless of their physical strength.

This has developed the Awroth into a tribe which sees alcoholism as not only a psychological shield, but also a necessary layer between their minds and the trauma which originated their tribe. They also have quite a desperate relationship in the manner in which they come to treat the land they've managed to acquire, something which represents how most of the members kissed the sands of the Acheo Overgrown Beach. This has led to quite the fanatical development into a specific sort of obsessive attachment to their shoreline.

Which has naturalized their incapability to settle any deeper into the island than what encompasses the Acheo Overgrown Beach.

==Culture==

The culture of the Awroth tribal zu'aan exists as a direct manifestation which embodies their historical trauma within a framework of social cues and functionalities, building itself around a high-scale expression of a group of zu'aan which refuses to leave the place which finally offered them comfort after a long time of sailing, that being the Acheo Overgrown Beach; a place where not only the members of the tribe found a manner of comfort, but also a tool which allows them to transform their overall necessity for booze into a hazy societal pillar.

The social centers created within the day-to-day culture of the Awroth tribal zu'aan focus mostly around a couple of set-up stills, avoiding more settled cultures of social interaction within squares or perhaps even temples for something simple and volatile which every zu'aan can choose to opt in and out of at any moment. These stills are built with copper and salvaged metal objects, which have the purpose to constantly hiss and bubble, oftentimes preparing booze which can, most often than not, be consumed on the go, produced and sterilized within the heat of those same locally placed boilers.

Many times the drinks are even served hot, something to avoid all of the cold, which for them often is a sign of a dying community, which also complements itself into details for their architecture, which often has room to allow the smell of the stills to flow into homes. Social status is also something built culturally within notions specific to the Awroth tribal zu'aan, something which is deeply determined within the logic of tolerance and taste, determined by how much alcohol an individual is able to consume without having to deal with immediate issues.

Dividing the value within the members of the Awroth in such a manner has led to a sort of cultural class division which divides members into three separate tiers: one which can barely handle low-grade fermented fruit, some which have the standard clear liquor ability, and some of the most potent members which can take the most challenging of drinks. Their most frequent ceremony which is culturally practiced within popular spaces is done regularly every evening at sunset, when members of the Awroth tribal zu'aan gather along the shoreline as an attempt to boldly face the ocean.

They pour portions of their strongest brews into the sand as a matter to tribute said ocean, perhaps even bribing it, something often followed by collective drinking ceremonies in silence. This is somewhat of a dim reminder of the tribe's own origin, and a way of valuing all of those men which were lost in the tribe's previous journey to what is now their home; all as a stark contrast to all of the nihilism they were saved from upon arriving at the land they now propose to give their most valuable thing to: their booze.

==Government==

The governance style of the Awroth tribal zu'aan follows notions which are based around their cultural standards as a method for establishing a proper hierarchical structure, allowing for—as they say within their own jargon, for the "flow of the spirits to dictate the flow of power." This allows for the construction of a system in which political power and control are built around distillation processes and the management of all the challenges which the tribe has to tackle; and this same political power is held and distributed amongst the members which have the higher physical capacity to remain sober enough through many doses while still being drunk enough to belong within the tribe's cultural scope.

The primary body which encompasses the peak of political control within the Awroth tribal zu'aan focuses around the political branch with the legislative responsibility. It is full of the members of the tribe which acquired, many times through hierarchical and nepotistic means, the largest distillation units along the beach the tribe lives on; since it is justified within the tribe's observation that the ability to produce and reproduce the fuel for the spirit of the Awroth should signify the most authentic expression of true sovereignty.

And, therefore, the members which are able to do so should remain within the top of the leadership chain. The members of the legislative council of the Awroth tribal zu'aan, although while placing themselves within superb spheres and often viewing themselves as superior to other members due to the entire cultural scope which sees their skill and ownership of alcohol-producing units as impressive, still remain within all the popular cultural areas of the tribe. Oftentimes, they even discuss and focus reunions around the very communal boilers the tribe has.

Most of these discussions go around laws which are focused around the rationing of fuel and the purity standards for the produced drinks. The member nominated the Full Master of the tribe acts almost as a proper auditor for the other members of the tribe, think of the dynamic of the friend who remains sober after a party to drive the rest of the members home. This is the task of the leader of the Awroth, a member which is tasked with the very burden of sobriety, as he, along with the members of his chosen group, is placed away from the common state of chemical escapism the Awroth engage in.

They are not only permitted, but also fully required to remain clear-headed at all moments, even having to follow this to a legal sense unlike any other members, being at risk of losing their political position. They also hold the very responsibility of keeping track of all the internal debts of the members of the tribe as to ensure that the production of booze doesn't bankrupt the tribe. This position has often been related to quite corrupt manners of politics; since they hold decision power within a tribe full of members who are constantly intoxicated.

They have been known to historically take decisions that favor that small group instead of the people of Awroth during drinking moments, so as to oftentimes guarantee this decision was only a blurry memory.

==Military==

The military armed forces which are controlled by the Awroth tribal zu'aan show an extremely organized and fascinating style of combat chain organization, often taking to the tendency of numbed aggression and diverse manners of engaging with chemical and sometimes even biological warfare; avoiding many of the tendencies which seek to focus armies around abstract ideals of discipline, and instead choosing a fighting style which is almost as though they are a cornered beast, too worn down to feel the potential danger of war.

First of all, even despite the degraded physical state of many of the members which make part of the frontlines of the Awroth tribal zu'aan, they still show extremely functional tactics which have been shown to provide the necessary support to exist and thrive after many of the challenges they faced, especially due to kin'toni control. This degraded body health often comes from the alcoholism many members of the tribe engage in, something which the army endorses by giving booze to many of the soldiers before engaging in battle, following the "numb" characteristic that was aforementioned.

After drinking the beers that mainly suppress the central nervous systems, the involved parties eagerly rush unmindfully at the possible pains hence forming a massive battering ram against kin'toni who without even flinching, after taking many wounds, still carry on with their way, although their faces with only glass-eyes could be seen, and this coupled with the silent intensity the kin'toni often show on the battlefield. Many of the main weapons used among them are centered around the high-alcohol distillates.

They make use of their understanding of alcohol to produce not very sophisticated almost primitive but at the same time very potent incendiary devices which can successfully keep at bay other kin'toni after a very limited number of deployments. These substances are placed within glass or ceramic vessels with ignitable wicks, which are able to be easily thrown to create full firewalls on the beach, basically creating a military force more specialized in arson instead of straight-up combat.

Something which also extends into culture as a means to express the nature of the Awroth's spirit as palpable flames. Their territorial strategy also follows along with most of the delimitations of their tribe, often focusing on the defense of the coast of their beach, rarely pushing towards the jungle as a territory for fighting. Instead, they lure enemies out to the sand, where oftentimes trenches are dug out to separate the beach from the jungle, allowing for "killzones" to exist and for the enemies of the Awroth to simply advance and fall to their death, allowing for fewer casualties to be suffered by the tribe.

==Religion==

The religious style birthed amongst the Awroth tribal zu'aan is founded by a small minority of members who opposed the main status quo which encompassed the entire tribe, creating an oppositionary group to the customs that promoted relentless drinking as a means to overcome, or at least numb, the inherent issues provided by living such a futile and hopeless reality. This religious institution is quite small and disorganized, especially since they lack any sort of funding, as most of the wealthier members of this society tend to follow the already established rules.

They often view the world as birthed from the very distillaries which produced the alcohol consumed by what they see as darkened members of the tribe, saying that there was a "mash" in the primary history of the world and that such creation is responsible for setting up such a chaotic and rottable world as Taerel, something inherently impure with countless individuals who failed to contrast this reality. They even describe things such as the Shattering Age using alcoholic production terminology, often referring to it as the very fermentation which allowed for the world to develop into the mess that it is today.

Thus, by opposing such logic, they believe they free themselves into a more enlightened position than the one inherent to the world. Their primary religious icon is that of a horrible God who exists to manipulate and to bring indescribable pain to the existence of zu'aan. It was this God who is seen as the main contributor not only for things such as the kin'toni plague, but the need to be constantly numbing oneself away from the pain provided by this same creator. That creator also follows alcoholic imagery, oftentimes referred to as a Cosmic Still, which is at the center of the world and exists to keep the world ill even after everything ceases to cosmic dust.

This also leads them to see the stills around the beach as miniature shrines to this evil God, often avoiding them or, as practiced among more radical members, destroying these stills while other members of the tribe aren't around. Now, religion is often focused around this minority due to the fact that the other members of the tribe don't tend to seek to justify their existence with a God; in fact, they avoid any sort of expression of mythology, simply focused on living their bohemic life in the way they see fit.

Much of the time, they tend to die way less stressed than those religious members simply by denying the need to seek out a God which justifies their existence. If anything, the majority of members treat the very booze they drink as a divine intervention, one which allows them to numb themselves from the ills developed in Taerel, with some of these zu'aan even taking to practices of mockery, where they approach members of the religious minority and jokefully worship what is seen as the world's greatest evil to them.
