Phase 2:Swutonsul Kin'toni Clan

Biology
The Swutonsul are adapted to the vertical ice walls, sub-zero temperatures, thin mountain air of the Inekim Ice Peaks. They are compact, highly muscular, and low slung of build. Their torsos are short and their arms are long and powerful. This is an adaption to lower their center of gravity in order to climb the steep slopes. They are top heavy, meaning that they are clumsy and unbalanced on flat, open floors. The skin is deep, non-reflective obsidian-purple in color and has an thick, calloused layer of dead-cell keratin.
This later acts as protection from the sub zero winds. This skin, being heavily calloused and with rigid skin layers, dulls their sense of touch, meaning they struggle with feeling subtle surface textures or vibrations. The hair is jet black, and grows as a woolly fleece over the head, neck and upper back. It is adapted to asbrb heat from rocks, and shield the spine and brain from the cold winds. The eyes have pitch-black irises, alongside dual, dark-tinted nictitating membranes. One is for blocking the glare of the ice fields.
The other lens is for polarizing light. The lenses are dark enough that it hinders their dark sight, meaning in places like caves, mines or other underground places, they are blind. The ears are cup shaped, thick and leathery for hearing faint sounds in the winds and to block out the sounds of the winds. Their noses are flat and broad, containing internal, chambered sinus baffles adapted to warm the freezing air before it reaches the brain. The teeth are reinforced with a dense, iron containing mineral outer enamel layer.
This allows them to bite through frozen flesh, crush bones for marrow, and crush though some armor. The hyper dense enamel is brittle, making the teeth prone to shattering if they bite down on things like rock or metal armor. The claws are long, needle sharp, and hock like containing dense iron-infused keratin. These claws act as ice axes for scaling the vertical glacial walls. As the claws are long and inward curved, they are unable to close their hands to properly grip weapons or tools. The feet have rigid and splayed toes with short, down-turned talons.
Alongside the rough friction pads, this allows them to walk freely on ice. Inside, specialized ice-structuring glycoproteins fill the blood, in order to bind to microscopic ice crystals and stop the crystals from growing and busting the cell walls. This blood also has high systemic resistance, making it prone to clots, heart attacks and strokes in warmer environments. The bones contain additional calcium and iron, and have hyper elastic, high tensile ligaments. These allow the kin'toni to deal with long falls and slips.
This also means that there is less mechanical leverage. This makes their lifting and throwing strength weaker then other clans. They have massively enlarged hemoglobin recycling glands adapted to allow them to rapidly extract and store iron. This is used to fuel the iron in the growth of their teeth, claws and bones. They produce thermal buffer lipids that are adapted to stabilize cellular respiration, even in the most freezing of temperatures. To produce these specialized lipids they need to hunt large prey more often then other clans.
